Everybody is DJ n V Charlemagne the God. We are the Breakfast Club. We got our guest co host, Kim Whitley head joining us. Now, if you're just joining us, we're talking about Ebony k Williams. She talked about she would never date a bus driver, and then she doubled down and said this.

Speaker 3

I only saw a handful that even considered the possibility of a bus owner being a more aspirational position. Now, I suspect that some of y'all are the same men that were bringing home c's and d's on your report cards, only to then be coddled by parents that said, well, that's okay as long as you're doing your best. Well, listen, I love and believe in the excellence of black men. So no, my dear c's and d's or any other

form of mediocrity is not okay. But could it be that black America has been sold a narrative of average, regular and typical being good enough for us? Well, see, that's called white supremacy.

Speaker 2

So we're taking your phone calls this morning. What's your thoughts?

Speaker 1

Hell her? Who's this?

Speaker 3

Hi?

Speaker 2

My name is j Nay.

Speaker 4

I'm tining some Detroit.

Speaker 1

Shirley, name him what Mama.

Speaker 5

I definitely feel like this is the reason why she's single.

Speaker 6

I feel like, if the person is putting God first, is loving you unconditionally, why should the occupation matter?

Speaker 4

Because she want to go to dinner somewhere I guess expensive, and you know women are like who paying?

Speaker 5

So I'm with him, like me and my husband.

Speaker 3

We get out here, we work harrd.

Speaker 4

You know, I have I fears praying to him.

Speaker 5

He has too. He's but he loves God first, and he loves me and my kids. So long as he's somebody and meeting all I needs.

Speaker 6

Get out here and do what you need to do to get out.

Speaker 5

Of here, and hustle and make sure that your family is doing you know, you're taking care of your family.

Speaker 6

But that's probably why she sings her now.

Speaker 4

So yeah, all right, thank there's some good advertisement for I'm telling you, we just said her name so many times this morning, several times.

Speaker 2

But you know, you know what I maybe think about it too, is the people that support Ebony, that watch her shows, that watch her own reality shows, that watch her new judge show. Those are quote unquote.

Speaker 6

The average average, Those average people you're talking about the everyday working class are who you want to support your podcast.

Speaker 4

You don't want them to turn away from you because it's gonna go down, gonna go dowsh Right.

Speaker 1

Hello, who's this Hi? It's Rachel Rachel.

Speaker 2

Good morning, talk to us. Rachel, what do you think about Emny K Williams comments?

Speaker 5

Good morning? I myself am attended for all the many students that I've educated who have become bus drivers, plumbers, electricians. She needs to retract her comment and make it more personal. Yeah, she's a millionaire and she prefers to date one. She should say that, but she should not pluck down about men who are out there working hard normal quote unquote normal job. But I'm more offended about it. He's and D's comments right, educating students ninety nine and I am

a mother and that is so disrespectful. Yeah, there are children out here who can only get a seat. Do you know why?

Speaker 3

Why?

Speaker 6

Learning learning disabilities? I said learning disabilities, but it also a systemic bias and education.

Speaker 3

Yep, thank you, And.

Speaker 5

There's a good bias.

Speaker 7

My kids are taking a New York to Day mouth esterday. They're not ready for it, right, because it's a bias. Yes, so how to see though these weren't their best and if parents weren't doing their best, that was a horror. A promise and she really really need say something again.

Speaker 2

Well, thank you, Rachel, and we appreciate you being a teacher. We know how tough it is, we know how difficult it is. I know you don't get the supplies you need. I know you overwork, and I know you got to deal with some of them crazy kids. Sometimes we appreciate you, Yes, we do, thank you.

Speaker 5

I appreciate you, guys, because promise like this should.

Speaker 4

Be just stuff, but this might be a learning lesson for Rachel.

Speaker 2

Where you could be from, Rachel.

Speaker 1

I'm from the Bronx.

Speaker 5

I teach in the Bronx as well.

Speaker 2

Oh j have mercy God? Can we buy you some mos today? Can we buy you some lunch today? Could send you a teacher from the Bronx. What's your cash?

Speaker 7

App Absolutely? But what I was prefered is I on au start in parliament. I support there.

Speaker 6

You go see.

Speaker 1

I like that. Go ahead, go Faith.

Speaker 7

I'm at Faith ninety too.

Speaker 2

Madison Avenue unks place? What's it called ninety two? What Madison Avenue.

Speaker 7

Nineteen sixty two?

Speaker 2

Madison Avenue nineteen sixty two, Madison Avenue. If you're in Harlem, go check her out. And we appreciate you again, Rachel.

Speaker 5

Thank you, Thank you.

Speaker 7

Guys, appreciate the Bright Club.

Speaker 4

Absolutely.

Speaker 7

I'm rich.

Speaker 1

Good morning, rich, good morning, good morning son. Now you agree with.

Speaker 2

Me, you agree with Abney Kate Williams.

Speaker 1

I bet that she could have worded that better. But at the same tour game. All right, So I was I was a trash worker for twenty years, right and they and they made us out here. I started my own company with my wife from I saw the home companies this then. But there's nothing wrong with being a trash worker. Nobody aspire us to be a trash worker, you see what I'm saying. So we have to do so, you know, our parents have to do better, to push

us to do better. You know, although we we are sex workers, we we are needed out here, we are necessary, but we're not looking. We'll always look down upon.

Speaker 2

No, you're not.

Speaker 6

No, you're not not not in New York Because when that trash start piling up the front, where is the sanitation workers?

Speaker 1

Yeah, where a pick.

Speaker 3

Up the work.

Speaker 1

But I'm gonna put up. I'm gonna put a thude like this, we are we all want this when we are needed, but when we aren't needed, they don't. They don't want to look at us like that.

Speaker 2

But that's the y y'all, you're always needed. I can't think of the time that y'are not needed.

Speaker 6

Never.

Speaker 4

Yeah, I think it's changed. I think that might have been twenty years ago. I tried to holler at my uh my trash worker. He was so fine he got off that truck. I was like, wait a minute, I.

Speaker 2

Said, how you doing? Let me help you with that bad I canna lie. I mean, I appreciate all the sanitation under all of them. Sometimes when you block the streets, sometimes we can't get by. But other than that, I appreciate you got that's right, that's right. What's the biler story.

Speaker 6

That the moral of the story is that everyday working class people are not average, they're not mediocre, they're not typical. And it's the level of eliticism in those words that I don't like. And you know, Ebany is the homie. She's entitled her preference. She can date whoever she wants to date, she can have whatever standard she wants. Well, let's not put down everyday working class people in the process,

and us entertainers. We need to stop over inflating our worth. Okay, we are not essential and if those everyday working class people don't support us, we don't have careers.

Speaker 2

Right, no, right, it's the Breakfast Club. Good morning,
