The god damn it. That's right. Because we do this thing every year, Change for Change, Yes, sir, that's right, where we raise money for a good cause. In this year's cause, it's the third Good Marshall College Fund. Well, let's talk about the history of it. First of all, we started it a couple of years ago. First year we raised money for the Gathering for Justice movement. Correct, you know what I mean. I think that was that's
Harry Bela Fanta's organization. We ran up like, I don't know, seven hundred and some thousand, I think it was seven year seven, close to eight hundred thousand. Yeah, and then the next year we did Brandon Marshall's Project three seventy five, right, and that is an organization and helps to eradicate the stigma around mental health. Yep. We raised about quarte million something like that, quart a million dollars. And in this year we're doing, like I said, the Third Good Marshall
College Fund, which helps students get to an HBCU. We helped with a scholarship, whether it's for books, whether it's for lodging, food, or tuition. We're trying to help kids that need it to go to college. It's recipient gets a five thousand dollars scholarship. So there's multiple recipients and it's the nation's largest organization that exclusively represents the black college community. Correct. And we would never ask aw to do something we haven't done ourselves. We've all made h
you know, healthy donations to HBCUs, right, Yep. You know, last month, I gave a quarter million dollars to South Carolina State University, you know what I mean. So I'm just out here sowing my seats. But my mother, that's my mother's alma mater. So everybody had some type of connection to HBCU in some way, shape or form. Absolutely, you know, absolutely, of course I went to Hampton University. I was in five years. Actually I supposed to be at four years. I did the extra year. I love
the so right, he's probably didn't do seven. I would I would have if he did an extra Yeah, absolutely would. Yeah. I loved it so much of the extra year, like a lot of people do. Okay, there's a lot of people out there that went to for four and a half or five years, no doubt a lot of you listen, a lot of people got relative that went the HBCUs. They went to HBCUs themselves. And you've slept with a guy a girl on a HBCU campus, you have a
connection to an hc somehow, somewhem. I'm a big proponent of higher education also, so I just want to make sure that people who want to go to college have the opportunity to do so and have the finances and whatever support they need to make that happen. Agree, because I didn't go to college, you know what I mean. But you know a lot of y'are not as special and as blessed as me. So while you're trying to figure it out in life, you should go to school. Absolutely,

Good morning morning, everybody is DJ Envy Angela Ye, Charlomagne the guy we all the breakfast club. Let's getting some front page news now, Philadelphia seventy six U. Ben Simmons officially hit his first three of his career. That is so crazy that he's a point guard shooting guard. Yeah, but it's wild that people talk about how Ben Simmons
can't shoot. But I didn't know this was the first three point of the first three point of his career. Last night. I was like, no, that must be some social media doing so too, but no, this is his first three point. He's a guard, he should be knocking him down against shot and can't shoot. Well, they beat the Knicks last night. Now what else we talking about y Well, let's talk about the impeachment hearings that Republic yesterday. Gordon Silon, who was the most anticipated person that everybody
was waiting to hear what he had to say. And here is the United States ambassador to the European Union. He actually testified yesterday and a lot of people are saying this was a turning point and the House impeachment inquiry with stunning testimony. Now here's what he had to say. As far as Donald Trump saying that he does not know him, President Trump was asked about you and he said, I don't know him. Well, I have not spoken to him much. This is not a man I know. Well
is that true? It really depends on what you mean by no. Well, we are not close friends. No, we have a professional, cordial, working relationship. And in that working relationship, he knows who you are. Yes, and he has spoken to you often. What's often, Well, you said at least twenty times. Okay, If that's often, then it's often, yeah, Yeah, that's often. Now if it's twenty times in twenty years, no, twenty times in the last three yes, that's got off. Yeah.
People are saying this was the most important day of the House impeachment hearings, and when he was asked straight up was there a quid pro quote, Silon did respond the answer is yes. Okay, he said, that's the question, and that's a simple question, and he said, I testify previously the answer is yes. Here is Gordon Silon on that Trump phone call. What I finally called the president.
I believe it was on the ninth of September. I can't find the records and they won't provide them to me, but I believe I just asked him an open ended question, mister chairman, what do you want from Ukraine? I keep hearing all these different ideas and theories and this and that. What do you want? And it was a very short, abrupt conversation. He was not in a good mood and he just said, I want nothing. I want nothing, I
want no quid pro quote. Telos Lensky to do the right thing without actually was in Donald Trump's favor right there. That's the one thing that Donald Trump has been saying clears him and exonerates him. But you know, prior to that, he did say, as I testified previously, there was a quid pro quote. But even though Donald Trump tried to say that afterward. Everybody believes that there was all right,

we can see it. Okay, we can see it in real time because when you donate, So don't be calling up here telling us you're making these big ass donations. We can look right at the number and c all right, well, let's get to the rooms. Let's find out who just purchased a twenty five million dollars home. This is the rum of report with Angela years. Okay, well, it looks like the weekend might have some money to donate. He just spent twenty five million dollars where Yeah, he said,
where in Beverly Hills. Wow, Lord, have mercy engratualation. But the penthouse a bachelor pad, they said. He spent twenty five million for it. It's on the top floor. It's not even a house. That's a waste of money. It's four bedrooms. It's eighty two hundred square feet. That's big. Now, many colleges you can rica with twenty five million dollars. Well, maybe he'll want to donate this morning for change for change,
you won't. I'm in everybody's pockets this morn. The lave person that you want to call, he's gonna call you. Did you you just reported? So I brought out all my money and I got to furnish this j Christmas around the corner. He might got time for you what I would call a weekend for change of change. Well, he's got four balconies and he's got huge glass windows,
great views of the city, the hills, the ocean. I would think if I'm from Toronto and I saw with Drake just built in Toronto, That's what I would be building my career. Back I'm just saying, this is just one of his houses. Twenty five million dollars for a paint house. I want some grass for that much where it is bumped backyard. All right, Now, another person, because I told you this morning, we are in everybody's pockets.
Jamie Fox. He was at Brooklyn Chop House partying until five am, and they said he left a two thousand dollars tip on his food. So Jamie up, Jamie got it, Jamie got Jamie can donate the change for change? He got it. Yeah, he definitely does. So let's see if we can get him to call it this morning. So Kanye West, all right, he's building an amphitheater on his ranch in Wyoming. We told y'all he bought another ranch for fourteen million dollars, so he's been spending his money up.
But the only problem is the county is ordering Kanye to cease construction on his property because he didn't get a permit. So you got to get a permit. But he does have a seventy thousand square foot amphitheater that he's planning to build. He submitted documents for that and there were construction crews and everything there. So until they get that permit, right, he's got to stop. But that you know, they's sticking him up. They paid, He got to pay for that permit, and that's the reason why
they're halting him. Were about to stick him up too. Let's put some pressure on Kanye West this morning. Let's hit up Boo, Let's hit up def Jam. Let's shake Kanye West down. He ain't nothing black since Jesus King came out for a big boy interview. You ain't nothing black since Jesus Kings came out a week two weeks ago. Two weeks ago. That's plenty enough time to do something black other people his pockets? Whoa trop on a clump? He just showing his love and express this president is
love for Kanye West. This morning he said, what up? Booy? So love it? What you gotta do to get the money out of all right, I'll tell you who else's pockets we're in right now, Damon dash now. Originally the story was he owed four hundred thousand dollars in child support right, and he had n't paid up and that money did apparently gain a lot of interests and those debts have gotten a lot bigger. But yesterday he actually
went and took care of both warrants. He went into a Manhattan court house, he paid off about a million dollars to clear one warrant, and then he tried to go to another courthouse to deal with the other one. That's when he ended up getting cuffed and processed because the officers escorted him to the Bronx to take care of the rest of his bill. So all in all, he spent over a million dollars to clear his name.
So the fact that he could just drop that money, all that means that he can definitely donate to change for change, drop on a clues balls for Dame Dash. First of all, why wasn't that the headline? But why wasn't the headline Dame Dash pays off child support instead of Dame Dash arrested for unpaid child That's what Dame said yesterday, Dame Dash arrestedable. I saw TMZ report that page checks like Damon Dash arrestedable for over four hundred thousand.
I think it had gotten it. I think probably at first it got updated because people just saw him getting arrested and didn't know. But why are they arrest me if you come in to pay? Well, he went to one cot a warship one and then he had to pay the other one. There were two of them. After he paid the first one, they knew he was in court clearly, and then they went and cuffed him. He
paid like over a million dollars. Yes, you should have sent this Lloyd, And I'd have sent my lawyer to pay the money if I knew y'all were going to arrest me. You know what I'm saying, because it look it just looks bad. You put their handcuffs on me, you walk me in front of media, but you know I'm actually paying my child support, Like that's why, like why I do that? Then? Well, Dame, if you're listening, we know you just paid that million dollars. I know that.
I know the network is doing well right now. We need a little change, Dame, just a little bit, a little bit. You're walking around with over a million dollars. Okay, they're working us. Let's go all right, So you guys can also donate as well again today is changed for Change. All you have to do is text change to five to one eight two, or you can go to BC change the number four change dot com BC change for change dot com. All right, now, next hour, we have
a couple of people stopping through. Michael Ruben, partner for the seventy six. She's rich rich, she's rich rich. Are we gonna try to win? Last night? Yeah, they beat the New York first three point. Yeah, Ben Simmons to his first three and next hour also Chadwick Boseman will be joining us. We got two people were leaning on this, right, We're gonna try to We're gonna lean on Michael Rubin. We're leaning on Chadwick Bowsman. Damnit? Right, what's wrong with you? Man?
What you keep doing? Because I got excited cause you talking about this because you talk about Michael Rubin and child movement. Except Michael Rubin we can lean on him. Okay, he's a white alli. You're excited right now that white guild on him, telling him as for a black college. All right, and then we got from Paced News. Next we'll be talking about the debates were last night, so we got to discuss the democratic debates. Will tell you who we thought came out pretty good, and we'll give
you some highlights. All right, we'll get into that next keeping locked. It's the Breakfast Club, Good Morning, Change for Change Morning. Everybody's d J mvy angela Ye, Charlemagne the God. We are the Breakfast Club. Today's Change for Change. We will be here until many night. We're raising money for the third Good mar Show College Fund, which helps African American students get to HBC. We're helping them with five thousand dollars scholarships. That goes to lodging, it goes to books,
it goes to education, it goes to a bunch of things. Yeah, y'all been to college before. I haven't, But it goes through whatever you would use it for in college. Absolutely, that's all tuition, cash for that atuition, a little bit of everything. All right, we let's get some front page news. What we're starting, Well, we are going to talk about these Democratic debates that happened last night. It's a fifth
up Democratic debate of the twenty twenty presidential campaign. And krey Booker was coming at Joe Biden and that was basically on his stance on legalizing marijuana. Here's what he said this week. I hear him literally say that I
don't think we should legalize marijuana. I thought you might have been high when you said it, because because marijuana, marijuana in our country is already legal for privileged people, and it's one of the war on drugs has been a year, isn't That was a hard board dropping a clues bonx with chore book. And it's gonna be very hard to vote for Joe Biden if he becomes the Democratic nominee. Like my god, earlier this week he said, you against the legalization of weed, but lastinating the debates
in front of millions, you flipped on that. Well, here's what Joe Biden have to say. I think we should decriminalize marijuana, period. And I think everyone anyone who has a record should be let out of jail, their records expunged, be completely zeroed out. But I do think it makes sense, based on data, that we should study what the long term effects are for the use of marijuana. That's all it is. Listen, man, he seems he seems like at the early sun of the dementia, Like he said something
early in the week, that he's changed his mind. That's what that seems. Then he goes on to talk about how much support he gets from the black community. I'm part of that fed Obama coalition. I come out of the black community in terms of my support. If you notice, I have more people supporting me in the Black community that's announced for me because they know me, they know
who I am. Three former chairs of the Black Caucus, the only black African American woman that ever been elected to the United States Senate, a whole range of people to the Harris standing right now on the stage. Point point is, my point is one of the reasons I was picked to be vice president was because of my relationship,
long standing relationship with the black community. All Right, Kamala Harris is also on that stage, and she was talking about real quick, now you can't say you was suppointed about the only African American woman that had ever been elected to the US and you're standing right by another. Everybody was like, like, we'll come on, I'm telling you he's all right now. In addition to that, since we're talking about Kamala Harris, she had some things to say
about Tolsey Gabbert. Now, first, she was talking about Democrats taking the Black vote for granted for too long. I think candidates have taken for granted constituencies that have been in the backbone of the Democratic Party. But you know, at some point folks get tired of just saying, oh, you know, to thank me for showing up, and say
we'll show up for me. Because when black women are three to four times weren't likely to die in connection with childbirth in America, when the sons of black women will die because of gun violence more than any other cause of death, the question has to be where you've been and what are you gonna do. That's right, that's a fact. That's why black people should not be just giving up their vote to anyone who doesn't have a black agenda. They always want black people to vote out
of fear. Stop all that the persons actually doing for something. To Gabert would agree with you. Now. She had said, our Democratic Party, unfortunately, is not the party that is of buying for the people. And when Kamala Harris was asked to respond to those remarks, here's what she said. It's unfortunate that we have someone on the stage who is attempting to be the Democratic nominee for President of the United States, who during the Obama administration, spent four
years full time on Fox News criticizing President Obama. When Donald Trump was elected, not even sworn In buddied up to Steve Bannon to get a meeting with Donald Trump in the Trump Tower. Listen, should we lean on Senator Harrison's campaign this morning? Yes we should? The Harris went to an Hbcud Howard. Yes, yes we should. Should I hit up by you? Absolutely? Yes, we should absolutely see what they got little change? All right, Well that's front page to my dad who's listening. It actually is my
cousin Jason, who donated, so thank you. I know there's a lot of years. I just feelized that is my cousin Soccer. I would hit up Joe Biden's campaign, but they'll probably try to pay us. And Harriett tell me in twenties, shut up, you know what I'm saying. Shout up? All right, when we come back, Michael Ruben will be joining us lean on this white Man. Of course, he's a partner of the seventy sixes and we're gonna talk to him today. Of course. It's change for change, and
we need you to go in your pocket. If you can give what you can doesn't matter if it's five, ten, fifteen, twenty, whatever it may be. It could be a dollar. But please donate if you can text change to five two one eight two or just it up the website BC change the number four change dot com. We'll be back with Michael Rubin. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning, the Breakfast Club Morning. Everybody's DJ Envy Angela Yee, Charlomagne the guy.
We are the Breakfast Club. Now. We got a special guest hanging up out with us right now, Michael Ruben, Now, Michael Rubin. Today is something that we do is called Change for Change right every morning from six am to midnight, and we do this every year. The first year we did it for organizations Charlomanne, we did the Gathering for Justice Movement, which is Harry Belafonte's organization, and we did it for Brandon Marshall's Project three five seven because they're
helping to eradicate the stigma around mental health. That's right. So this year we're doing it for the third Good Marshall College Fund, which helps students trying to go to HPCUS. We give them a scholarship to help with their books, with their living arrangements and all that stuff. And we know that you ride black people, right, so not to go in your pocket. But we know you got deep pockets.
So we're just asking for a little, you know, donation or something, if possible, I'd be happy to okay now, not to put no pressure on you. But isn't her a job of a pressure? I mean yes, Um, so, I can't remember how much the last a couple of weeks ago you donated to an AGBC. How much I did I gave us? I can't remember. I gave quarter millions of South Carolina State universe two to fifty thousand dollars,
twenty fifty dollars. That's that's a guy we know named JAYZ always says to fight different, you know what I mean. I'm familiar with that slogan. I feel like fighting this morning. I'll listen. I'm ready to fight. I'm ready to fight. So we're not asking for you know, listen number, but we know I'm gonna I'm gonna actually be really helpful to you guys. Actually, we care about education a lot. One of the things. I don't know if you guys saw Meek and I've been talking a lot about education.
We're actually gonna commit um, between me and I in Pennsylvania millions of dollars to Pennsylvania schools this year. Are we gonna take me up? Yeah, so we're actually that's something we're gonna do in two thousand and nineteen. Um, we've got there's a great taxes set the program we're gonna I think several million dollars of Meek and I together gonna put into Pennsylvania schools in two thousand and nineteen. So we're excited about this. But I love to help him,
and and uh, you've got me committed. Okay, all right. He didn't say how much, but we'll find out later. But were off there. Okay, how's that? That's fine, and we'll bring it back on in. You gotta put a pressure on the rappers and everybody else. That's all because I'm happy it's gonna haven No need one hundred grand to help help. How's that for? We got different different Michael White, but Mike, Mike, Michael, now here's the community I need from you guys. I wanted to pressure everyone
to help. So what you guys got to increase your skills, increase the pressure you guys to go for the hard clothes. That's why I do it in business. Afterlutely set it off, Michael. If you didn't hear Michael one hundred grade thousand, come on now, he't good for all your rappers, all you athletes, all you entertainers. Michael Rubin have the biggest donation? Michael Rubin how about to close bonds for Michael Rubin for giving words the biggest donation that's far this this morning, one hundred grande twenty five grand. Yeah, I know his seventy six is one last night, so he's excited. The one twenty five is based on whether or not we wear the jerseys every day, right, Well, he sent me a jersey previously when we had a bed last year that didn't go well for me. Where you got to wear it once a week, once a week, yes, you
got one. That's it's for the students, for the kids to go to school, help them out. You you could do that. But if the nets agree to give more than that to for us to not wear it, I doubt it not. Wait wait wait wait, wait wait wait, we're already working on that. It's actually being scheduled right now because they didn't been everywhere else now after nets. If the nets and nets could do that, the nets could pay us not to wear seventy six ers. With that,
I'm with that. Put him and get him on the phone. You can't do that. How are you? You can't commit to Michael Rubin telling them you're gonna wait to jersey and when somebody else, pay you you tell you say you cash everything around him. This is for good, don't matter what you give him back his twenty five. I guess you're gonna have a Brooklyn next day in the Philadephia thirty sixth day, but you don't care know where

We raised money for the Gathering for Justice movement, which was Harry Belafonte's organization. And last year we raised money for Project three fifty seven as Brandon Marshall's organization to eradicate the stigma around mental health. So now this year we're we're raising money for all the HBCUs for African
Americans to be able to go to school. So we make sure that we are giving them scholarships to help with books, to help with lodging, to help with food, to help with everything. So today's the day we're gonna be on the radio from six am to midnight, and we're asking all our celebrity friends could they possibly donate anything if possible. It's for the third Good Mall Show College Fund. Now, not to put any stress on you, yeah,
but how much did you donate? A couple of weeks ago, I donated a quarter million dollars to South Carolina State Universe. Now we're not saying you gotta do that, but we just that's the bar. You know, just two, you're a multi millionaire. More, you still ride to train, you're frugal like me. We know you got it. This is for HBCUs. You don't you want to leave some type of legacy for black people. I'm trying hard. I'm exactly. There's a lot of black Black show Black people already think that
you make a mockery of them on your show. What the least you could do, right say, Hey, I'm just saying with the streets, half of your friends watch my showing right more at this new game that's coming out in a week or so. Yeah, and it's cool, you're not the father. Not putting no pressure on you, but your net worth is sixty million dollars more? How much did you say sixty that VI with zero million with the wife, without thee without do I that's just marioh man.

Mister more two fifty? You gave two fifty. Well, first of all, you got more YouTube of viewers than I do. That has nothing to do with my money. I don't know that. I haven't made a dime off YouTube. You haven't. Oh no, no, you gotta get my agent. Yeah, you're right, I heart you
hear that? Okay, all right? Ten thousand, All right there, Mario, just ten thousand to eight pcus. That's how I'm talking about. What do you think about Charlaman like that? I don't think I'm impressed. Were grand where? That's gran? It is great, that's wonderful. The thought that counts. Yes, but Morris shouldn't be donating the kind of money that people say things like it's the thought that counts. Oh god, are you kidding? Just saying more you worth sixty million? I'm just saying,
all right, Megan fifteen, that's it. Mari reappreciated helping us out for change. More just donated after Charlomagne shook him down. All right, it's the breakfast club. He donated one hundred and twenty five thous right salute to Mari Polvich.
He's been making money off just functional black families for how many seasons? Twenty two seasons. So we had to shake him down for fifteen grand. Fifteen grand, little cheap, very little cheap. But you can't say everything counts but appreciate it. You can't do that. Yes, but he's, you know, been making the money if just functioning black family for twenty two seasons. He rides with even dug a little deeper. Great,
we are we are happy. Thought he thought he would don't act like you didn't think he was gonna dig a little DEEPO, No, I didn't. Actually I thought you think we gonna give nothing. I thought it's gonna be like more like two three thousand. I'm happy for that now, thank you so much tomorrow for donating. All right, well, let's get to the room or slut to my rum for showing us what a real white ally looks like. They're both shut up, allies. Let's get to the a
you a foul man. Let's get to the looms. Let's getting people's pockets, man, Let's talk money. It's about some report. Is the rumor report? Angela? Ye? The breakfast club? Well it's open. Sakuilo'neill has opened up an eighty million dollars Shock Tower amazing in Newark because right by nj PACK New Jersey Forming Arts Center. And yeah, the units can be leased with prices arranging from eighteen hundred dollars for a studio, nineteen fifty four one bedroom and twenty seven
hundred four two bedroom. They also have parking available for an additional one hundred and fifty dollars a month. That's close, O'Neil, I love lord. I know a lot of people you might hear that and be like, well, that was expensive. That's actually low income housing in these areas, Like that is actually great and it's a brand new facility. Is eighteen hundred a month. That's that's the starting point for a studio. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, so he's
excited about it. You know, Shack said it's historic. He said, it's going to continue to beautify our city. So right now the tower is officially called fifty Rector Park. I love New Work, man, he said, eighteen hundred and four studio. Yeah, oh, you know that's not bad, investor. I don't think that's It has rooftop cabanas. Yeah. Yeah, girls, it has a gym, amenities room, all of those things. Eight hundred for studios
about low income. That's the building for what new work is about to be, because new transforming, you know what I mean? That correct, So that's the building that in five five years you'd be like, oh okay, how put Yeah. Clearly Shack has a lot of amya no, I mean he's a restaurant to our franchise owner and investor. He currently owns a Krispy Kreme Donuts franchise in Atlanta. He used to own twenty seven five Guys Burgers and Fries franchises. He's the founder and owner of Big Chicken, which is
a casual fried chicken restaurant in Vegas. And he also has Sha Kills, a fine dining restaurant in La which I did go to when I was in La. He's also a minority owner of the Sacramento Kings NBA franchise. Shack number. Somebody hit Shack number. Does anybody have Shacks number? We'll call him up. And he owns a lot of Atlantic City. I think he owns like over fifty town homes Atlantic City too. He's got it. He got it, He definitely got it, and he could use a tax
right off. All right. Another person we should reach out to is post Malone. He actually just reaped with Crocs, and you know, listen his previous Crocs deal, the fourth and Stars White can get any witers sold out in just minutes, just so you know. So the Posty Crocs collaboral hits select retailers and the Crocs online shop on December tenth at ten am. So anybody that wants to get those Postmelon Crocs can put that on their calendar and get ready for that. Emmy, want me to get
my hook up to get them for you, I'll pass. Yeah, I'm cool on the posts. I'm good. But listen his previous three collaborations all sold out in minutes, so there's clearly a demand for this. You know. Also, just recently, he left a one thousand dollars tip at Mel's drive in. He was there going to eat, he was taking pictures with fans at the restaurant and everything, and then left
a thousand dollars tips, So I know he's got it. Yeah, postmelon crocs sound like they come with their own sweat already, a little bears things on them. Oh my god, let me see what they're going for. Hold on, hold on, let me see what they're going for. Look you stock x six hundred dollars on stock x seventy dollars to invest the perfect shot hundred seventy five dollars, perfect shoe
to go mudding in. Listen to the first time I ever met The first time I ever met Bill Cosby, I interviewed him when I was there serious and he had on a pair of crocs. I just remember that he was walking around in the crocs. I think that might have been the first time I ever saw somebody wearing crops. Y'all pass all right, So, well, a lot of people are buying it, They're selling out I'm sure this is gonna sell out in minutes. Also, and let's
get started talking about the Grammys. Lizzo leads the twenty twenty Grammy. She has eight nominations. Anyone have anyone have Lizzo's number because she can definitely donate to Change for Change. She's getting all kinds of accolades right now. Lizzy, she actually likes you. She hates she called drama f boy. She was right. Billy Eilish and Little Nozex both have six nominations each and the three of them are all
first time Grammy nominees. So Lizzo, Billy eilis Little Nosx. Now, I do want to point out somebody that is nominated, right and he was very excited to get nominated. And I know Amby you can get in touch with him. Who's that offset Here's what he had to say when he got nominated. He posted this on his Instagram. Yes, sir, she's I got Grammy nominated. I wouldn't rewarded myself with the Ferrari eight twelve he bought at eight twelve Ferrari. How much is that run? Anywhere from about four twenty
five to five fifty depending on the options. All right, So Offset a bond himself a new Ferrari, so I know right now he can donate to change for who else is nominated? I saw the Baby nominated. And by the way, at Lsia Keys is gonna be hosting, just so you know, Savage nominated. Yes, Her was nominated, Uh Post Malone, Swaylie for a Sunflower. They were nominated. The Grammy's missed a few in the rap category. Yeah, it's
Rhapsody Rhapsody. Eve definitely got robbed conceptually and sonically. That's the best rap album of the year. To me, Freddy Freddy Gibbs Bandana should have been nominated. Well, let's talk about what those nominations where. Best R and B Album was BJ The Chicago Kid get nominated, Lucky Day LMA,
PJ Morton and Anderson Pack Best Rap Performance. J Cole for Middle Child, The Baby for Sugar Down, Bad Dream, Vell featuring Ji d Bass, J Cole Working and Young Nudy Racks in the Middle, Nipsey Hustle featuring Rich and Hipwaine. By the way, Nipsey Hustle, as you know was nominated.
Offset featuring Cardie b Clout. So those were all nominal for that one, Best Rapper for Best Baby Album, dream Ville, Revenge of the Dreamers, three Meek Male Championships, twenty one Savage, I am greater than I was Tyler the Creator also why bing court Day. Congratulations to him. He was nominated for his album The Lost. But here was his reaction, Man, whip bro this crazy great? Okay, I definitely I like
twenty one album. I feel like while La should have been on for on Chill, while Lea should have got a nomination for on Chill. What was it early enough? I don't know, because I know there's also a timing thing. All right, I'm Angela Yee and that is your rumor reports so far. All right, now, you know we're here till midnight when we come back or give you an update,
and we still need you to donate. So can you please text change to five two one eight two or hit up the website BC change the number four change dot com raising money for the third Good Marshall Fund, which helps students get into HBCUs with scholarships, whether it's towards books, education, twition, lodging, whatever it may be. Good morning. Now. We usually do donkey today right here, correct, but it's a special occasion because today it's changed for change. It is our annual radio than benefiting the Breakfast Clubs HPU Scholarship right u, HPCU. And it's the third Good Marshall College Fund. There you go, so up to date right now as of five minutes ago. Come on now, we've only been in two hours, two hours, four minutes. YEP. One hundred and sixty eight comes. Pretty good for an
anti black show. Pretty good for an anti black show. Two is one hundred and sixty eight thousand dollars. Shout to Michael Ruben one hundred twenty five thousand. Shout to Maury Povid, she donated fifteen thousand, and which makes me happy. So many people donated. I'll name some of them. Shout to Calvin B. From Brooklyn, he donated thirty dollars. Shout to US Steel Plumbing, one hundred dollars to Lute to doctor Harvey Spencer Junior from rock Hill, South Carolina, he
donated five hundred dollars. Me to my South Carolina bredren I see you, sir. Shout to Joy from Saint Petersburg, Florida. She dontated two hundred and fifty dollars. The Latasha Brigman from Columbia, South Carolina, she donated ten dollars. You are appreciated those donations. I really like, absolutely know. I mean,
I really like that. I don't get me wrong. I love the big donations as well, but I love the ten dollars and the five dollars because that is people acting their wage, and that is people doing what they can and those little donations add up. Yeah, that's difference. And I see a lot of people from Brooklyn representing on here too. Sharron from Brooklyn, also Sean from Brooklyn. Seawan to Guyle from Brooklyn, Rashida Boyd from Brooklyn. Brooklyn is heavy in here. So shout out to Brooklyn. I
see to trade on here. To Jason Terry, Newport News, Virginia, Florida, trying to prove they're not crazy. Knew what up knew. It's a lot of fls on here. It's a lot of Florida, a lot of Florida there. Ye, shout out the Florida Lota. Corey Finner from Jacksonville, Jacksonville, really really heavy Jacksonville, more than everybody from Brooklyn, North Carolina as well, Julian Favors from Orange Park, Florida, Lance Walters from Brooklyn. All right, well, Jorge Zimmerman, know where you see that.
We're gonna get that one back, all right, all right, when we come back, Chadwick Bowman will be joining it. That's what if you did, we'd have to send that one back. We'd have to send that back, all right. When we come back. Chadwick Bowsman will be joining us. Of course, he went to Howard University. It's a new movie coming out this week. It's Bridges. Gotta shake Chadwick down. Chadwick from Anderson, South Carolina. I gotta put the pressure
on him, you know what I mean? All Right, so we'll kick it with him when we come back to don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. It's DJ Envy angela Ye Charlomagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Of course, today is changed for change. We're raising money for the third Good marshow College Fund, and today we gotta special guests in the building. Chadwick Boseman, Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting me feel welcome. Twenty
one Bridges coming. That's right, this this is your first film not associated with Black Pants in twenty seventeen. You feel an impressure. Nah No, I feel completely free. Okay, you know, it's just good to be doing something something different. Glad, glad I have that, you know what I'm saying. But I'm glad to be able to step into a different genre in style and play. And you're playing a cop, so how how are we going to feel about you after this? Like you you feel about cops history knows
and some bad cops. So what kind of cop are you? I'm a copy? Yea? I think, I think, I think. I think the job comes with you know, you're dealing with with situations that where you're you're judging things, and as a judge, you know, sometimes you do right, you do wrong. Not I think that you're hunting down people who kill cops. That's right, Yes, that's right. We don't know whatever n and they don't show us the whole thing.
In the trailer, he finally catches the guy that in the train, but we don't know what happens, what he does out of that? Does he understand the guy's story. I don't know. I mean that's in the trailer. I don't know. We don't know what happened. Hey, I think we must be telling people too much in these trailers. Um, you know, it's it's a situation where everybody's a little dirty. That's the best. I don't want to give anything away.
Everybody everybody has in the job. I'm not saying the job it requires them to break the law, but in the midst of judging the law, that's part of it. That's even it's sort of biblical. It's a book called Judges, So it's that's that's that's the reality of the job, man. And I think we try to explore in the most real way we can. And you know, I was with real cops the entire time is from pre production on. You know, I trained with the lap D officer and then we were in New York doing rid alongs and
why PD detectives. How was that? It was scary at first as a black man. You know, you get you get in the back of the police car. You're like good, you know, but then they're talking to you. You're like, okay, yeah, there's no cage. I'm good. And and they're human beings. Change your opinion of cops. It changed my opinion of the people, not of the institution. But at the same time, it made me understand why, you know, why people are
the way are they are. There are people trying to do the right thing and there are people that are not and and you know they were honest about that. How much did you have to think about doing this role? Was it one of those things? Because was it a problem? Like, damn, I really want to play a cop right now with everything that's going Yeah, no, I had to thinks like did you have to think about that? We'll see that
that's yeah, that's a question. But then that's the reason to do it, you know what I'm saying, because you know, one you you have to get out of your box. You have to get out of your way, your ego, um, because he ain't about being loved. And you know, compassion is everything. Stepping inside the shoes or somebody, somebody that you may normally not agree with is a good thing
to explore that life for a second. We need that, We need people trying to understand both sides of a thing in order to make the right decision for everybody. Black Panther two's coming in twenty twenty two, so they'll love you again a little bit. Yeah again, Yeah, yeah, I can listen, I asked. I was like, I don't know, I don't know. How do you feel like? I see how you feel like listen. You're described as a trigger happy cop in the description. I don't like trigger happy cops. Yeah,
but the situation is in the movie. I can tell you this because it's the trailer. You know, his his his his father was killed, and so the character has this need to to get close to where the wrong is. He's been trying to find who did this. What he knows who did it, but he's been trying to right that wrong and you can find justice, so he gets
closer to evil and normal. So he does pull his trigger more like it's not necessarily that he's killing but it's a good question because that's when you ask that question. Did you have to think about it? You know, as I'm reading, I'm like, ah, I don't know, because if he's if he's killing us for no reason in the street, stop a frisk, whatever, then I have a problem with that. Was there any lingering trauma from this role that you
had done back then after the funding. No, it's interesting because usually I have to have to have a sort of exorcist, you know. But I think with this because the whole thing is sort of like that, it didn't it didn't require that, you know. For me. The first time we went to the to the gun range and I was like, oh, I'm using this gun and I had I had issues with it. So through the course of it, it actually helped me as opposed to be having to get rid of something I wonder about. Coinsid
is right because I'm on conspiracy theory. So you got this movie coming up, which is about a man of hunting cops, I mean hunting people for killing cops, and Queen and Slim comes out next week, which is about two black people want the run for killing the right. Then Hollywood do that on purpose. That's why I love you, man um. It's funny to hear because that's that's a lot of times people do feel like Hollywood is there's a conspiracy there. Sometimes it might be this is just
because here's the difference we did this. Lena is spearheading her thing. There's no white person behind her telling her to do that. You know what, I'm saying and with this, I'm gonna produce on this film, so it wouldn't get made if I didn't want to get made. All We got more with Chadwick Boseman when we come back. Also, we're asking you to donate, and you can donate by texting change to five two one eight two or visit
bc change for change dot com. We're raising money for the Thirdgood Marshall College Fund, so please donate, And we got more with Chadwick Boseman when we come back. Hotti is DJ Envy Angela Yee, Charlomagne, the guy we all the Breakfast Club. We're still kicking it with Chadwick Bowsman. Thirdgood Marshall played him right. Today we're doing something really, really big. We are raising money for the third Good Marshal College Fund, which is helping young students go to
HBCU Black students go to HBCUs. You went to the fake HU but it's still cool. Um, you can't do that while you can't call one of them things. So what we're doing. We've been here since six am. We're leaving tonight at midnight, and we're trying to raise anything we possibly can. And if you're out there listening. You can text change the numbers, but but you know, I just want to tell, like what some of the people have donated. Charlemagne, you donated to South Carolina, which is
HBC South Carolina State. You know my mom went there. You know we South Carolina. O. How how much you do? I can't remember the number you donated. Last month? I gave a cool quarter million, two or fifty thousand? No pressure? R what Kanda is coming back? K black kids come back shortly? This movie? Is this new movie something? Okay, I'm not gonna go to two fifty because I got
some other stuff out because the holiday season. We understand, Yeah, I know, but I'm saying, like, yeah, you don't have to say an Yeah, but you don't have to say a number. Don't say a number. You can you can say say you don't have are y'all working together? That she's working against y'all. Right, but I don't want you to feel pressured to say no. Black people are visual people.
They hear you saying number more. He gave fifteen thousand, right, Michael Rubin, partner of the seventy sixers, he gave one hundred thousand, but then he threw in another twenty five thousand. If we wear sixes jersey once a week, let's give us ten percent whatever black pantom made, we'll take that. You know, it's like, this is crazy. I feel that the energy overhere. It is over here. Go ahead, keep going, keep going. That's what I'm spilled. That's it. That was
our pitch. Okay, that was still it should do I have to give to a specific school, can I give? You just can't give the third I can't. He just said, South Carolina State. Well I did this. I did that on my own. That was okay, So you know, so y'all do that. That ain't have nothing two thousand. You know, I want to be clear when I'm being hustle. You know what I'm saying. Oh my god, I will give one hundred thousand? What what? What? Woman? Is the greatest
Black actor of our generator? How was number one? Was the greatest Black act of our generation? Not even close? I'm sorry, everybody gonna see twenty on his own HBC and said, how it is numbered one? I did, man, damn, that's all it took pretty much. Oh my god. All right, Well we appreciate you for Jodan. You just you just made my day. You made a lot of house people didn't seventy six New Jersey one time a week until the season. Yeah, but I didn't go to college on
your HBC. You can never say the real h you ever. Again. We're gonna play this clip overnight and I just want to day. We're gonna You're gonna go viralip New Jersey. Ya one more minute now, Just let you know my people will be vetting this organization to make sure you played the good college that you got nothing to do with my money. That's right. Speaking of this, Speaking of that, you think you're joking. You think your roles and other movies were appreciated more after Black fans like The Third
Good Marshall, like well, Jackie Robins. I hope, so to be honest with you, that you hope that people will appreciate the roles that you do. That is actually part of the body of work. You know what I'm saying, because for me, I'm trying to look for different stuff, and uh, you know, if you if you watch something new, then I feel like you should be able to appreciate the old stuff because you saw, oh that's a different part of him. Did you ever feel like Black Panther
would overshadow the rest of your career because it's hard. No, you gotta get sick of hearing Wakanda forever. No, I want, I want one conduct. I want I want us to be what kind? Yeah, I don't want to get to get tired of hearing it because I want that's it's an ideal to reach. Actually, so yeah, people, I don't get upset when people are asking me to do the thing. I get upset who people want me to do it?
Like I was tap dancing, right, not upset, but it's like but like, I'm not tap dancing for you, Like what kind of thing? It's a salute, you know what I'm saying. So if you do it to me, I do it back back to you. Yes, if you're black, you walcome to you and go boom yeah white pop be like hey you do that kind of thing starts, it starts. We really appreciate you for doing us. Man. The movie twenty one Bridges is in theater this Friday.

That's right. And I mean we need some of the labels to all the labels that come up here all the time, we need some of them labels to donate for good cause. Man, why don't you Why doesn't where's death? Jam Man? Where's Atlantic? Who is this? Still? Record? Labels? That exist? Oh? Quality controls? Through the quality control quality control, jam Atlantic. Oh we got lean on the baby on the tailoring all them the baby, Yeah, yeah, yeah, who
else were thinking? I don't know why I can't do no no record labels on the top of my head, no more, I can't think any we said Atlantic and still exists. I'm not in that business like y'all. All right, anyway, let's get to the rumors. Let's come out out. She's filling the team. This is the rumor report with Angela Yee on the Breakfast Club. Yeah. So, how happy? How you to see Carmelo playing in the NBA again. I'm happy for him. Well, he did post an emotional a
message to his fans. He called the last eighteen months an emotional roller coaster. Here's what he said. The last year and a half man has just been like an emotional roller coaster. All of this started on a Wednesday. I got the call Wednesday, thought about it. Then Thursday. That Thursday was the commitment, which led to the next day, which was a Friday, which they wanted me to come and get right into it. Let me just get three or four days of just like getting back into it
mentally and emotionally. I had, you know, almost detached myself from the game a little bit just to get myself some sandity and not think about it. But once I got that call, if the challenge was for me to just flip that back mentally, I'm gonna clude Carmelo Anthony. How do how y'all fun on Carmelo? I don't know, but I'm glad he's back in the league. The man
can still give you thirteen to fifteen points a game. Man, all right, now, let's talk about and by the way, he's playing again, ya should hit him up for some money. By the way you want carmelaing never hurt him the money, of course, he wasn't hurting. But I'm saying now that this is front and center in the news that he's back on the team, this is a great time to be like, come on, let's do this, all right now.
Another person you might want hit up for some money, because maybe he'll get some is Jesse small Letty is suing Chicago for maliciously pursuing a case against him, and that's because of the claims that he was a victim of a racist and homophobic attack earlier this year. He's finding that countersuit for malicious prosecution. He alleged that the city officials were out to pin the blame on him for the alleged assault that left his life and a
reputation in tatters. Now Botip has these court papers, and he's saying that the cops spread lies about him in the media and coerced his alleged attackers into implicating him as a mastermind of that attack. He also says that the Unsudario brother's statements were false and self serving, and he said the Chicago PD closed the case and slapped him with sixteen criminal charges even though they had statements from two witnesses that corroborated his version of events. Jesse
don't know when the quit hunt did. Jesse realize nobody's thinking about this anymore but him and the Chicago PD. And as long as he keeps doing like this, he keeps bringing the story back up. Well, I think they were already suing him, so now he's counter suing them, right, and shout to Jesse. You know, Jesse donated our first year doing this, and he didn't call in, he didn't advertise, He donated quietly. He just did it on the load. We just have pop. You just happened to see his
name and see he donated. I don't know if he'll do that now. Oh we show the money wasn't counterfeit. It was the money for real. But we do appreciate each and every donation that comes our way, So yes we do. Jesse, if you want to donate, feel free late now what you mean? He too late? Just made fun how to donate? He might? Yes, text change the five two one eight two or visit bc change for change dot com. You know what I mean. All all
