Episode description

Do you ball on a budget? Well today on the show we opened the phone lines to see how much our listeners are willing to pay at a wedding, after a recent story came out about a couple making their guest pay for their food and drinks at their wedding. Also, Charlamagne gave "Donkey of the Day" to two men who allegedly hands officers papers with bag of presumed meth during a traffic stop, and Angela helped some listeners out during "Ask Yee".

Time to wake up, taking fancially and Cholomagne the Doctor to Breakfast Club, Bitches, the voice of the culture. People watch The Rerecorast Club for like news and really be tuned in. It's one of my favorite shows to do, just because y'all always keep you one hunting. Y'all keep it really. They might not watch the news, but they're on Twitter, they're on Facebook, they're you know, they're listening

to the Breakfast Brothers. Hit your ass. Good morning Usa yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo Good morning Anally Ye, good money. Cholomagne the guy, piece of the planet. Guess what day it is? Guess what day it is for twenty by the way, Yes it is. It is for twenty today. I hope you're somewhere waking and baking, are popping an edible or something. Don't do it in drive, though, But if that's what you want to wake up too,

do your thing. Yes, yes, well maybe wait to after work just in case, so you're not driving to work a little You've been high at work. That's why I say, don't drive, don't drive and do it, But a lot of people do it just to be able to function. Man, people do it for shaddy purposes. You know. Facts take that age off. It's a lot more medicinal nowadays, uh than it is recreational, right, And if it's not, that's

our story and that's what we're sticking to. The There you go, Well, let me shout out to everybody that supported the book. Yesterday. Oh man, amazing it was. They call it pub day, you know, happy pub release Day. Yea um, and I was amazed. I've never wrote I've never written a book, so I had no idea anything about how the book world works. So yesterday they told me that if you crack the top one hundred, yeah, they said that's great. And yesterday we made top twenty,

so they were super duper surprised. So, just to put it in perspective, when you talk about books, it's all books, so it's bound to sue forty eight Laws of Power. It's the keto, diet books, the cookbooks. So the fact that we broke top twenty in Amazon, I think we actually made it to eighteen yesterday. And then as far as the Audible. We were like number two. That was amazing. Everybody was surprised. I didn't know what I had. Would you be surprised because I don't know anything about the

book world? I had no idea. I have no idea. I didn't do it to make a list. I did it because we wanted to, you know, tell our story. So if you if you didn't move some books, I would be surprised. You know you got you got great platforms, you got the Breakfast Club, you got the Casey Crew podcast. If you didn't move books out to be surprised, so that that's not surprising to me. Congratulations, you never know, and I know it feels good. It's your first book,

so congratulations to you. And yeah, so shout to everybody that went out there and picked up the book and starting to write reviews. I love the reviews and continue. Man, if you're out there, go your local Barns and Nobles, go to Amazon, pick up the book us. It's very very very transparent. We're very very transparent in the books. Oh we know, we know, we know, Okay, some of those viral moments are actually helping sell the books. So

hell right, you know what it is. If I showed you if I showed you all my dms and gears dms. So many women who say, look, I'm always going through the same situation with my man. My boy man Penis was trash too, absolutely, and you know now I'm going to have that conversation with them because you know, I want to be open. I want to have a better sex life. So I know those guys laughing and making jokes a lot of y'all nut you know, making women

orgasm either you just don't know it. Gears say, yeah, I know that squirt was fake, but I still moaned because I'm a krimlin. What what are you talking about? But I want to I really appreciate you guys, And definitely, if you're out and about, pick up the book. Mother's Day is around the corner fall this day, So definitely get the book and I'm preciate up downloading on audible. Listen to it. It all counts, Everything counts, Everything counts.

All right, Well, let's get the show cracking front page news. What we're talking about. Yes, let's talk about Kyrie Irving. He was fined by the NBA for giving a middle finger to Celtics fans will tell you how much he has to pay. All right, we'll get into that nextus the Breakfast Club, come onring morning. Everybody is DJ Envy Angela yee, Charlemagne the guy. We are to breakfast Club. Let's getting some front page news. Then yesterday they heat beat the Hawks one fifteen, one o five to lead

the series two zero. The Grizzlies beat the Timberwolves one twenty four ninety six. That series is tied one one, and the Pelicans beat the Suns one twenty five, one fourteen in the series. Is time for that? Was? That was a shocker. Yeah, that was an upset. I was like, wow, yeah, now Kyrie Irving's had Kyrie Irving has been fined and that's because he threw up the middle finger to Boston fans. Yes,

he was fined fifty thousand dollars by the NBA. They actually said the fine was for making obscene gestures on the playing court and directing profane language toward these spectator stands. So I mean they were going at him the whole entire game. That's a difficult one because they'd be cursing at these players, they'd be yelling at him giving the middle they'd be giving the middle fingers and you can't give it back that. That's tough, that's difficult. I knew,

I knew he was gonna get fine. I mean, when we was watching the game, I kept saying, Oh, they're gonna get him for that, They're gonna get him for that. But I don't I don't think you should be fine if you're responding to their energy you're receiving. Apps. If he had instigated it, I can see that, But if you're responding to the energy you're receiving, I don't know if you should be fine. But then it's difficult too, right,

because the fans aren't the ones on television. So it's like when you see Kyrie throwing his middle figure, you see that, but you don't see what caused him to do that. Right. They play again tonight, So yeah, I wonder if something like this it probably will make the fans go even harder. Of course, I was really not fair. I was at the Nixed Nets game and everybody was, you know, cursing at Kyrie, and I think Kyrie too, was Spike Lee. So Kyrie said something to Spike Lean

and realized it wasn't. He came back over and apologize, but it got to be difficult, Like you know, these players are yelling all types of I mean, these people are yelling all types of things, throwing them just his middle fingers and all that. You shouldn't be But if they should get escorted out, yeah, what they do they're doing some cases. In some cases they do I don't know what warrants, you know, them to kick fans out something. A lot of times they do. They're yelling at profanities.

Should be you know, the harassing somebody. Don't kick out for that because everybody be yelling profanities at them games all right now. A viral video of Syracuse police officers detaining a child for allegedly shoplifting has gotten a lot of criticism. This a little young boy over a bag of chips. He's just a kid, and here is what happened. He's doing here like a baby to me, why you? Why you? That's what I'm doing. I don't know what you're doing. I just see you snatching, So Watson, what's

going on? Then you're stealing stuff? If you skill something? Nah manby who do you say? The bag of chip? So y'all cheating like an old cold blood The killer geek walking. You don't even know what walk do that. I didn't know what. I just came up and seeing. I know, I just came up to see I see just snatching muffle back like you. You don't ask me, ain't he said, it wasn't in he stole some kicks out pakeball. You don't even know what that's. And that's

what we need to do. Well, I'm glad he take that, but a bag of chips. I'll pay for the damn chips. Yeah, I mean, that's discussing. And he's so young, he's a little boy. That But according to the police department, they said that he was not placed in handcuffs. He was placed in the rear of a patrol unit, where he was directly brought home. Officers meant with the child's father and no charges were filed. You should not treat a child like that. I respect that brother for standing up

for the young man, though. You know, that's that's when when you talk. We talked about when we see something say something that don't always apply just to citizen. The citizen that applied the citizen the police officer too, because we pay their damn taxes. And after what I paid in taxes yesterday. I have a voice. Yeah, absolutely, and stealing isn't right. But when it gets to that point, you're a kid. We all stole things from stores before

when we were younger, or a lot of us. Just have a conversation with a child and say, look, let me get those chips. We saw what you did. You can't do you know what I'm saying. You have a conversation. That's scary enough. I was at seven eleven one time and this lady stole something. The police came right and she stole something like it was a water and a chip. She was hungry, and the ops came in and they were gonna wrest her, and one of the cops and

I respected him. This was right on Route seventeen, and I was there because I was gonna pay for He was like, you know what, I'll pay for it. I'm not arresting this lady. She's hungry. I'm gonna pay for her chips in her water, and we're not arresting her. And I respected that so much because I was gonna do it. But the fact that he did it, he's a little kid, and you gotta learn, and you gotta learn how to be a better thief. Okay, when I was young. When I was young, I never wanted to

hide anything when I stole it. I would walk into a convenience store, grab what I want, and just walk right out, like, don't even try to hide it. The cashier is shocked, They're not gonna stop you. That doesn't work. How about don't steal at all? Yeah, don't steal at all. I'm just telling you my thought process when I was a young lad. All right, Well, the Syracuse Police Department says they are aware of the video being shared and that they are going to review the body cameras. So aka,

nothing's gonna happen. No, hey, nothing's gonna happen. At the standard press release that they put out for all situations like this. All right, well, that is front page and it was. Let me ask you a question, right, is when you walk around the grocery store and you eat grapes, is that stealing or is that just proffle? Yes, it's definitely stealing because when you go away the grapes, those grapes are gone. Plus, how do you wash it if you're just eating grapes? Don't act like even never because

I wouldn't have to wash them. People are touching things, they still have a grape walking around. I would never eat a piece of fruit without washing it. Well, congratulations Angelie for being so much better than us. We've all done that. Sorry, I'm a gemaphoe grapes. You've never done that. And it asks for pieces, you know when they the Delhi. Never a piece of ham, please, I've took a two pieces of ham baloney. No. I might eat like some candy, you know, while I'm waiting to check out and then

scan it. But I would never eat a grape that wasn't washing. Sorry, all right, we'll get it off your chests. Eight hundred five eight five one on five one. If you need to vent, phone lines wide open. Eight hundred five eight five one on five one is the Breakfast Club. God morning, the Breakfast Club. Wake up, wake up. You're time to get it off your chat with you, Man of Black. We want to hear from you on the rest as well. Hello this day, this is uh, this

is Mike, Mike. What's up? To get it off your chat? Mike? What's up? Hellood morning? So here it is. I gotta get this off so I don't fall back to depression. Um, I made a lot of financial mistakes from trying to pursue something I thought was my purpose. And I wrote a book, self published it. I wasn't here with the book. You guys probably have it. Um, I took it off the market because the book just wasn't it wasn't proper. It wasn't the grammar wasn't proper. And I got it revised.

And you know, now I'm at a crossroads where I'm dealing with issues with them, you know, family, and lost a lot of money. Now I gotta, you know, go after this job, you know, so I could continue to put my family. But I made a lot of mistakes these past two years. And I thought I was, you know, on the right track. And you know, I just I just uh, you meet on the book. You put a lot of money into the book. I put a lot

of money into the book. I put a lot of money into invest it into myself and you know, doing what I thought was right. And I think what you're feeling is normal, brother like, and I like the fact that you're not ignoring your money problems. You know that you have them. So now you just gotta figure out a way to bounce back. So the depression you might be feeling, or the anxiety, that's that's normal when it comes to financial worries, Like there's definitely a link between

financial worries and mental health issues. So you just gotta you just gotta bounce back, that's all. And I will say this if you believe your book is great, I mean everything takes time. Nothing is overnight, you know what I mean. It took us years and years and years to do this breakfast club thing. It took me years and years and years to be a DJ. It took years and years and years to purchase her first business and purchase her first home. And they didn't connect right away.

It took time and we grinded it out, you know what I mean. What's the name of your book, A Ball Boys Journey? Ah, Ball Boys Journey, We do have that. Yeah, yeah, smart. I wasn't happy with it. There's a lot of strong content about my failures, my mistakes, tragedies, and I learned a lot about myself and overcoming things. And now I'm kind of back back where I first started. And yeah, the books getting revised and I'm gonna put out two part two books with the Nats and the Knicks and

there you go. But you sound like you're on the you're bouncing back. Do you have a place to stay? I'm sorry, sat again, do you have a place to stay? Yeah, I've been married. Me and my wife's gonna be celebrating sixteen years. So you eat every day. Yeah, I'm thankful, but I'm I'm very upset at myself. You have no reason to be. It's a gamble. That's what life is about yourself. That's all. You gambled, That's what that's what gambling is. You just took a bet on yourself. That's

the most important thing. I'm sure you're helping somebody out there. I'm sure even if if if ten people brought your book, I'm sure you're helping ten of those people. So don't even look at it like that. Brother. I appreciate y'all. Good, good talking to y'all. Find me. I hopefully God will all be then y'all. Hopefully this summer next year, that vision is still there, that me in the studio all being there. Okay, if you sold one book, So if you sold one book as a self publisher, that's a

success to me. Absolutely. Hello, who's this? It was Freshman Florida, Freshman, Florida. What I'm getting if your chests? Yeah, I want to trust back. I'm talking to me yesterday. I want to talk about what Charla Maine said about the facing orgasm. And they think orgasm just like women, Yes they do for real. Congratulations from every from congratulations because every every woman think they always have, you know, perfect stuff, but all over they think it is. And that's the conversation

that we need to have. Now. Somebody needs to open up that conversation. How do you tell a woman that her poom poem maybe gobbage? You can't, I mean, because she don't she won't get enough fools about it. Yeah, I mean, but I think if you're in a relationship with somebody that you really love and I think you want to a healthy sex life, I think those are the conversations you need to have. I think God, me and my wife had that conversation. But see, I don't

know if you can have a healthy sex life. When you tell a woman to her poom poom trash, it's like, what can they do about it? You wouldn't say it's trash though you got I mean, it's not how you you can't just say, hey, maya you poop from trash? Is this the way you approached the conversation. But let you look at it like this. If a warman to like what a man's doing, she can get him and tell them this. But if they're with you, if trash, what can you tell her? Yeah, because that's the equivalent

of telling a man his pp too little? Well, what would make it? What would make it, sir? What would make it trash? Oh, it's a lot of for dry. You could fix this. And sometimes a woman's dry because the guy's not doing enough for a play. But there, Yeah, you definitely can fix that. Too loose, too loose, to loose, you can fix too. They have surgery that can fix

that too. I can't pay for surgery for exactly. I can't pay for no, sir, no, because a lot of women have certain A lot of women do it because after they have a baby, they feel like it's too loose, so they have surgery to reconstruct. I don't know what it's called. Well, yeah, JJ had bagging over juvenation. She was talking about it on lip service. Tighten things up. Women don't know how to throw that thing back sometimes ring that's not really your action. Okay, well, anyway you

could have those conversations. But eight hundred five eighty five, one on five one, get it off your chest, Carlos downs the breakfast club. Good morning the breakfast club. We want to hear from you on the breakfast club. What's up? Broke? Get it off your chest? No, everybody there? Anybody? Yeah? Everybody? Hell well that man, I broke up with my girlfriend yesterday. Man, wo you couldn't keep up in the morning, in the shower before work, when I come home, before I could

drop my lunch back. My parents are down every goddamn day. How old are you? Listen? Man, you can't break up with your woman just because she was making you orgasm. You cannot break up with your woman because she was making you orgasm too much. If he didn't make guil orgasm at all for ten years and she stuck by his side, you have no excuse. But I prayed for a girl like this in college. But now that I got it too much and know that, man, I went to the sex shop and got the biggest, strongest bad

bread ever and she's broken. How are you lying now? Now? You're just trying to He was now here, just trying to be funny, damn reason? Hello? Who is this? Yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yoo? Charlotte Lyne, Oh, good morning that we ain't got one for you yet? What up? What up? What's good? Whatever happened? Yes, b yeah, I just wanted to thank Charlotmage. I got finally got the books. Oh appreciate you're from Queens. I got an

album a lot from the seven one day. You check out everybody else music more college of people that do it, but they kind of I don't even gonna say any tracks. They just do what they do. But I'm live like I'm really living. Y'all told me before, y'all gonna check out the choice. Who told you that you got some? Yeah? I gotta stop. I gotta stop lying for no reason. Man, Yeah, it's it's don't hate to do that. It's good morning, good morning. How are you? I'm good? Great? Matter of fact,

Grand Rods and everybody there. You go, well you Greco, you have a great morning, great weekend. Man, you're gonna tive me to Union. We don't want to lie to you again. We don't want to lie to you again and tell you that we're gonna listen to your music because you you you you you get other people like like you know, uh po San and the music is trash, bros getting you're from queens, Like I said, you're from

ever good music. That music is trashed. And when you talk about name some names, name some name, yeah, yeah, name people we co signed. Um, I don't know exactly who you co signed, but I'm quite sure it's been done. Nobody appear. I can't just call somebody whacking. Don't even know who we're talking, who you were, who you're talking about. I was spit, spit right now, bro, spit some boss. Yeah, we go again. And then then Charlemagne's gonna come, oh

fresh Prince or whatever whatever again. Now some music, all right, I'm gonna listen to it. Why are you lie to that? Man said you wasn't gonna lie, You're just well clearly that's the only thing he'll accept is a lie. Hello. Who's this? Hey, that's Mosiah. I'm done, all right? You know what, man? You know I get off my chest. Man is, I'm working for this company for about two years or so, and you know, contracted, and they just let me go with no with no notice, no kind

of thing like that. And they didn't let me get all the work that I built for them, what those two years. So when I get cut and get into the job market, you know what I'm saying, I ain't got nothing to show for the work that I did for the past few years, making me a less strong candidate, you know, for all these jobs that I'm applying for. You know, so this puts me in a weird position, you know what I'm saying. So that's basically I had

to get off my chest. But in that same vein, you know, I kind of want to shoot my shot because I noticed y'all put up a audio, edited, image and production job. But so you know, I apply for that and think it I go ahead and uh just put a little notice in for that Mosiah Carvers a good luck. Yeah, appreciate appreciate it. If there's one more, I actually got a little something on my chest for you, y' don't know, see see up there right now. Yeah, it was this is a way back, but I hain't got

to get through. But it was like a couple of about a year ago, I was at her juice spot. I saw, you know, she was right behind me. I turned around, I said, oh, hey, yeah. I gave her the wave and anything. She just stood at me and just like, lets me hanging right there at the juice spot. I tried to say, what's up? See? Are you sure I heard you or saw you. I would never do that. Did you have a mask on? No? I didn't have a mask, So it was it was probably before. It

was a couple of years in. It was photo mask. Now I remember that. And because you know you'd the neighborhood. Yeah, I see you all the time within the uh the juice bar stuff, and uh, it was you. I think it's a little larea and both of y'alla you said a little RelA. Yeah, that had to be like okay, that had to be years ago. Sound like a little story from s I would I would understand her not speaking. No, I would never be in a juice bar and not

speak to somebody. Okay, well, hey, it's hello, speak to you officially now. It's nice to meet you, all right, brother? You ever go with man? Y'all, come on, you got to speak to people. Yeah, that doesn't happen. Get it off your chest. Eight hundred five eight five one oh five one. We got rumors on the way Shaquille O'Neill. He blames himself for his divorce from Seannie O'Neill. He said it was all him and that was so powerful. All right, we'll get into that next. It's the Breakfast Club.

Good morning, the Breakfast Club. It's about Angela needs on the Breakfast Club. So Shaquille O'Neill was on the Pivot podcast and he talked about his career, his relationships, and his regrets. He also said that he does blame himself for the end of his marriage to Shannie O'Neill. Here is what he had to say, with the divorce, you controlled your life forever. You can't control that people that

involved in the voce. I never talked about this. I'm glad you guys are asking because I don't mind talking about it. But I was bad. She was she was she was awesome, she really was. It was all me. I would just look, we don't need to talk about what I was doing. But I wasn't. I wasn't protecting her and protecting those vows. So when you live a double life, you get caught off there. Look, she did

exactly what you're supposed to do. Get me beautiful kids, take care of the house, take care of corporate stuff. It was just all. Man. Sometimes when you make a lot of mistakes like that, you know you can't really come back. Can Can we sit with that for a minute? Man? That realization right there is a realization I've seen so many, so many men have when they get older, Like men get older and realize they had the right woman the whole time and accountability. Yeah, and they ruined it by

spreading their slung in these streets. Oh man. And did you hear what Shaq said? That was so important? He said I was not protecting her. And we've been having that conversation on this radio. I told y'all, protecting women isn't just a physical thing. It's an emotional and mental thing. And if you out here cheating on your woman, you are not protecting her. Black men don't cheat. Yeah. But I love the fact that he's been he's open about it and opened him out the mistakes that he's made.

And I think, you know, we need to get to a place that we all could be opened about the things that we do because hopefully it can help somebody else. Man. I respect that so much because it's so hard for people to hold themselves accountable nowadays everyone wants to come off it's so perfect, like they've never made a mistake. Like everything that happens to him is somebody else remotely. Yeah,

like I respect that what he said so much? All right? Now, Former La Lakers executive Jerry West is demanding a retraction and an apology. He says there's a baseless and malicious assault on his character and the HBL series Winning Time. He sents a letter from his legal team to the network and to the producer Adam McKay, and that letter

was obtained by ESPN. His lawyers are alleging that the Winning Time series falsely and cruelly portrays mister West as an out of control, intoxicated Ray Jahrlick that bears no resemblance to the real man. They asked for a retraction no later than two weeks from the receipt of the letter.

And they're also saying, you know, this series is based on author Jeff Perlman's book Showtime Magic Kareem Riley in the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the nineteen eighties, And they're saying the series creators acted with legal malice because many of the scenes in the series so in this rage did not appear in the book and did not happen.

The letter also has statements from former players like Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Michael Cooper, and Lakers employees like Claire Rothman Bob Steiner who worked with West during that time period. They said they never saw him commit any of the rage filled acts or drink drinking alcohol in the office as depicted in the series. They said, instead of exploring his issues with compassion as a way to better understand the man, they turned him into a wildly coyote character

to be laughed at. I watched this before they pull us down. Yeah no, they're not gonna pull it down. I don't know what's real and what's not real, but I am so entertained. Winning Time is fantastic. Dropping the clues bombs for Winning Time Adam McVay and Rodney Barnes. That's one of my favorite shows on TV. Highly entertaining. I gotta check it out all right now. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are reuniting. They're doing a movie about a Nike executive, Sonny Vaccaro, who landed the Michael Jordan

deal for Nike. The project is going to tell the real life story of the quest to secure that partnership, and he'll never appear in the nineteen eighty set film, but it will follow as he connects with Jordan's mother, former coaches, friends, advisors before landing one of the biggest endorsement deals in sports history. Both Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will co write and co produce the untitled film

for Amazon Studios. Matt Damon will star as Sonny Vacaro and Ben Affleck will direct the picture as well as play Nike co founder Phil Knight. All Right, I'm Angela yee, and that is your rumor report. All right, we got front page news. Next, what we're talking about, yes, and we are going to be discussing COVID, Okay, remember that. Yeah, Well, we'll talk about a booster that they're saying has even better protection for you. All right, we'll get to that.

Next is to Breakfast Club Go Morning, So Breakfast Club, your mornings will never be the same. I teamed up with Zyrtec for this allergy relief message. Springtime brings vibrancy to the and pollen, so I take Zyrtech when allergy symptoms start, save the tissues and live vibrantly with zyrtech, starts working at hour when and stay strong day after day. Wake up? What the up? This is Mala Wayne's and I'm rocking with DJ mby angela Ye and Charlomagne the Guy.

This is the Breakfast Glow to show the Breakfast Club. Charlomagne the God, angela Ye, dj NVL had to step out for a quick second, but it's time for front page news. What we got ye? All right, Well, let's talk about Maderner. They say that the redesigned COVID booster provides better protection and they said that vaccine generated a strong immune response against multiple variants of concern, including omicron. Here is what doctor Richard Besser has to say on

the new variant. Is it looking to be less virulent and less severe, but but more contagious as we saw with a macron before it? Well, it's it's definitely looking to be more more contagious. It doesn't look like it's any more severe than omicron. And the vaccines appear to be just as effective against this BA two with as they were at are against the omicron straints. So if you haven't gotten vaccinated, it's not too late to do so you will get you'll get some great protection. All right,

doctor Besser, thank you, as I always appreciate it. And he also is talking about and when you should be getting your booster shot. I got mine already. But if you look across the ocean at Europe and see what's happened there with the BA two variant, they saw a major peak and we're starting to see some signals in the United States the data that shows that the BA two is the dominant variant, but also some states that are starting to see not just the slowing of the decline,

but a slight increase in cases. So I would encourage people to pay attention to what's going on in your own community. If you start to see cases go up and you're in one of those risk groups, that's the time to think about getting a boost, in particular people who are over sixty five and those who have medical conditions that put them at risk. At what point are they just going to announce that people got to get an annual COVID vaccination the same way you gotta get

the flu. That's what COME tell you. That's what's scaring people, The fact that they keep saying boosters and everything else in fourth shot and fifth shot, just say that every year, you're probably gonna have to get an annual COVID shot, just like we do with the flu. Yeah, I mean, I guess things that are changing NonStop, and there's different variants that have been popping up, the numbers going up, the numbers going down. So before they give us keeps

on changing too. Yeah, the flu mutates every year. Every year, there's different variants of the flu, so it's the same exact thing. Yeah, so they're gonna keep on. You know, I definitely would have got my booster shot because I'm around too many people for me to not do whatever I can to protect myself. All right, Now, let's talk

about weddings. The average American wedding man that's super expensive, but two California newly weds man is to actually get married for five hundred dollars and that includes the dress and you and the reception. So here is Kiera and Joel talking about the budget for their wedding. Our goal was to just be as minimal as possible and to spend the least amount of money as possible. A lot of people gifted us things like my god mom, she

gifted us flowers. My sister gifted us a runner can, my God's sister and my untie gift us with the cake. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a dress because I had the mindset, I'm gonna wear

this one time for a few hours. The people we have there, they understood the assignment, they understood the things that we were trying to do, and they really supported us, all right, So yeah, I mean, listen, I don't know if it makes sense for people to spend a whole lot of money on a wedding, but some people dream about that their whole lives, and they budget for that and they want to do it. But she did hers with five hundred dollars, and I think they actually had

people pay for their own plates as well. Would you be offended if somebody invited you to a wedding but told you you had to pay for your own food. Would I be offended? I don't know if offended would be the right word, but I mean, in my mind, I would be thinking, well, maybe this person financially doesn't have it to provide free food. I guess I don't know, because you know, when people get married, they do expect

you to pay. I guess whatever a gift you give should be equal to what they had to spend four your plate. So if you go to a wedding, how much do you give? How much do I give at weddings? Yeah, Like, if you're invited to a wedding, say you and your wife go, what's the amount of money that you give the couple? I'll be going to the registry. I go to the wedding registry and boy, stuff off the registry. I've never given I don't think I've ever given cash for a wedding. Yeah, I mean, listen, well I was

just at a wedding. They actually requested money, Like they said, the couple does prefer uh, you know, checks or whatever. But they did have a registry. But that registry was money to go toward words like a honeymoon or to go towards a home renovation and things like that. So if you had to give money, what's the amount that you give for you and your wife? Depends on who the person is, honestly, you know what I mean, Like,

it depends on our relationship to said person. And you know, damn financially, I hate to say it like this, with a lot of people who I may attend. The last couple of ondons I attended, they were pretty well off. I don't think they needed no financial I don't think Bobby Bones like Andrew Schultz needed any financial contributions. For me, those are the last two wedons I've been to. Oh so you just got gifts off the registry. But if they had said they wanted cash, what would you give them?

I mean, I think what three hundred dollars? Five hundred dollars it's appropriate? I don't know. All right, Well, listen, since we're talking about this, the viral couple that was on Good Morning America, we want to ask you guys, as people are going to weddings. You know, some people held off their weddings because of the pandemic. So everybody's getting married now that was waiting, what do you give at a web? Right? This couple went viral for their

five hundred dollars wedding. If you're a guest going to a wedding, are you offended if they make you pay for your plate? And how much do you give a couple of us getting married? What is the appropriate amount? As we're sitting here thinking about it, like, all right, I got invited to a wedding. How much money am I supposed to give? Call us up eight hundred five A five one oh five one the breakfast club. It's topic time called eight hundred five eight five one oh five.

Want to join it to the discussion with the breakfast club? Talk about it morning. Everybody is DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlomagne the guy we all the breakfast club. Good morning. Now if you're just joining us, what are we talking about? Easy? We're talking about this couple. They were on Good Morning America and they were talking about this wedding that they had to cost five hundred dollars. Here they are. Our goal was to just be as minimal as possible and

to spend the least amount of money as possible. A lot of people gifted us things like my god mom, she gifted us flowers, my sister gifted us a runner, my God's sister and my untie gift us with the cake. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a dress because I have the mindset I'm gonna wear this one time for a few hours. The people we have there, they understood the assignment. They understood the things that we were trying to do, and they really supported us.

So what does the question? Easy? So the question is when you go to a wedding, right, how much do you pay? If you have to give the couple of money? A lot of people request cash as a gift. So for yourself, a lot of people expect, you know, when you get they get married, that when you give them money, it's gonna at least cover your plate. So what is the appropriate amount of money to give at a wedding minimum the cost of the plate of food? How do

you know what that is? That's what I've always been told. It usually depends on you know, the place that you're getting married in and how much you assume the plate is gonna cost. So like, if it's a wedding, I would say, what one hundred dollars a plate? Maybe sometimes one hundred and fifty a plate, depending on the size of the wedding and where it is. That's what I was always told. And I don't I don't blame him because getting married it's very expensive. I remember when I

got married. If it wasn't for for Gear's mom and my parents to help us out, I don't know where we would get the money from back then. But yeah, we were grateful that people would play paid for their plates. Well these guests, uh, this couple actually made their wedding guests paid for their own food and drink too. I mean, yeah, if you gotta help them out, I don't see that roading. Yeah, it just depends right Like like I was saying earlier, the last two weddings I went to, and my man

Bobby Bones and Andrew shows, they don't need my money. Okay, also depends when you catch me right now, since this tax time get you like two hundred dollars two fifty, not tax time, probably five hundred. But I would rather just buy something off the registry. See I didn't have We didn't do registries back then. We just need We actually really needed the money to pay off the place. So I didn't want. I didn't want a wedding end

when we got married. We didn't have a house to go to, so we really just needed, like to pay off that wedding place. They didn't play off to you know, the food and the flowers and all that other stuff. So I needed to cash. I also want to say too, um, yeah, because the bare minimum at a wedding should be free food, free drinks. I think so anyway, you know what I mean. So whatever you can do as a I guess attendee of the wedding to contribute to that if the if

the party needs it. Sure, And what happened to daddy's paying for weddings? Now, we got four kids, we got four daughters. Bro let's stop that right now. I've never seen it that. I've never seen that. Like I got married multiple times before. My father in law did contribute to me and my wife's wedding. But I don't be hearing about daddy's paying for weddings like that no more. Yeah, that's that's old. That's that's in the in the nineteen hundred.

I think. Now let's bring that back. Yeah, yeah, we're not bringing that back, I think. But I think it's I got four weddings to pay for. But I think it should be that, you know, everybody contributes to the wedding, like you know, both sides depending on what it is. I think, Okay, let's go to the phone lines. Hello, who's this? They don't work like the Jets, el Roy, like the Jets. What I met el Roy last week in DC. He came to the book sign and I

met el Roy, what's up with your brother? I also want you to know only real good man and the book good. I got the audio too, so I'm doing real good. I appreciate you and the wife for supporting brother. You already know. But now I think like two fifty a reason for amount, for the uh, for the gift, that's a good number. Unsues like Sharlot Man, I normally gets on the renstue, but two fifty good? All right? Person said you bring a date? Uh most of times

me and my wife. So I made two fifty as a whole, like a family, one twenty five a person. And I also want to tell you Elroy, Elroy like the Jetsons only works with people of a certain age. You say that to these kids, they be looking at you like, who the hell is the Jetsons? The jets is still on TV. So I'm thirty two, so my whole circle around an age or older. So okay, okay, thank you, bro, you already know. Have a great day on purpose he purpose like that. Hello, who's hi? This

is Andre from Michigan. Hey, good morning. Uh we're talking weddings and how much is it is a good amount? To pay for I guess a plate or again it's appropriate, I say, um, well with my daughter, Um, I think average was probably about thirty dollars a plate during covid um. The wedding was small. Well the dinner plate, yeah, per person, I think thirty dollars a little don't seem like enough to cover that plate? Well thirty dollars yeah, because everybody

ordered what they wanted to off the menu. So average was about thirty dollars okay. And then for the reception we paid for everything. So were you calling from Queen May? Were calling from Michigan, Michigan? Okay? So who cared the wedding like public? You'll shut up bed. No, we went to Pennsylvania, and we drove to Pennsylvania. It was only twenty four people allowed because it was during COVID okay. And then everybody paid for it. Um or drove. We all drove or and some people flew in. It was

only twenty four people family mainly. And then for the reception we paid for everything. The reception was in September. And how much should people give as a gift if they give cash as a present, Well, a couple of people gave I mean, she didn't register, but she didn't ask for monetary donations far as um uh for the reception, and people gave difference amounts. You know, some people gave like two hundred dollars and some people gave, you know,

one hundred. But it didn't go towards her honeymoon. So okay, all right, thank you. I think thirty dollars is a little too what she was saying, that's how much the food cuts per plate for the first event. What the hell was they eating sandwiches? Yeah, because thirty dollars is and in any wedding with any chef that you know, whether it's fish or steak or it's vegan, it caused more than thirty dollars and plus a drink. I don't I don't think that's there's a lot. I don't know.

I could be wrong. You better leave publics a low man role public I spent I spent over thirty dollars yesterday at Auntie Andes. Man, I'm not gonna. I was walking through the airport and my daughter says she wanted something from Auntie Andes, and boy got to me the man. I had me some I got four kids, I had I had me some sentiment and sugar bikes and two pretrol dogs. Lord have mercy. I'm saying all that to say, that's what it sounds like. They was eating at that

wedding in Pennsylvania for thirty dollars a plate. Bro, you gotta you gott a hot dog yesterday, a pretul hot dog. I did have a pretel door, had two of them. Man, I'm not gonna lie, and and and a thing of center bites. You're a fat ass? All right? What O five? What's the question you? The question is what is an appropriate amount to give to a couple who is getting married as a gift for the wedding. If they're requesting

monetary gifts, what do you give them? And this is all based off of this couple that spends five hundred dollars on their wedding. All right, we'll get into that next. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning, and your opinions to the Breakfast Club one morning. Everybody is cj Envy Angel Yee, Charlemagne, the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. If you just joined us, we're talking what's the appropriate amount to give at a wedding? Right now? Where's this coming from? Easy.

This is coming from a couple from la They spend five hundred dollars on their wedding. They went viral for this. They were on Good Morning America discussing it. And so now I'm wondering, when you go to a wedding, what is an appropriate amount to give as a gift. Yeah, I always say the plate and the place I would say usually range from seventy five dollars a plate to one fifty a plate. I would say somewhere in there.

So we usually give somewhere around that, just to help the couple pay for some of the reception hall and some of the things that they have to pay for because weddings are expensive. You know, people just think reception hall. But you gotta think dress, you gotta think flowers, you got to think tuxedos. And then if you have bridesmaids or group spend sometimes you gotta hope with their stuff depending on what it is. Is that really the attendees

responsibility all of that? Sometimes? Yeah, I don't know about all that, bro, If you got to do all that, I don't know if you should. If you're ready to get married right now. Well, they spent only five hundred dollars on their wedding, including the dress, the reception, everything. How do they do that? A lot of stuff got donated and then they made guests pay for their own plates. Yeah, listen,

food and drinks. I can understand. But if you're telling me that you want me to give you a certain amount because I got to cover your wedding dress and the venue and all of that, y'all ain't ready to get married. No, note something. I'm just saying, these are my expenses. So if you could help out with your own good Oh yeah, food and drinks. Food at the bare minimum, the guest of a wedding should cover their own food and drinks, even though I think that that

should be covered as well. But if you're not able to do that, that's what the money goes to. But to say, it's going to my actual wedding. No, and if that's the case, if you don't want to play it, definitely, don't take my flowers on the table. I know when you leave a wedding you'd like to take the little table things and with the flowers, then don't take it. Don't blow Well, who should take it? I'll take I pay for it? Yes, all right? Hello, who's this Chris?

What Chris talked to us? Yeah, it's as the weddings. But I think, like Charlotte Man said, it depends on the level of friendship I think, but the minimum. I think a minimum should be like a hundred dollars one hundred and fifty dollars plate some plate. Thank cheap man, Okay, true, okay, thank you, and they tried you more when they know it's for a wedding. Absolutely, Hello, who's this D'Angelo? D'Angelo? What's up? I love Brown, I appreciate it. I ain't

quite the Angelo, but it is what it is. All Right, we're talking what's what's the good? What's appropriate number to give to somebody when they getting married. What I try to do is I try to split the baby. I would say, like a hundred and fifty dollars you know what I'm saying cash, and then get them like a gift off the registry. If not off the registry, like get something that they can they can participate in it together for the next couple years, like here's a hers

journal or something like that. Yeah, I'm with you. I like the registry makes it so easy. Man. Not only did the registry make it easy. If you want a monetary donation, just tell me what to donate, exactly. Give me a number, because I can't just come up with a number off the top of my head. I'm mess around. I'm mess around. Gie. You two dollars and you to keep me moving. Two dollars, come on down. No, appreciate that two dollars. You better appreciate that. It's hard for

everybody out here. I'm what they can be giving two dollars. You shouldn't go to the wedding. If you need two dollars, you probably don't need to have a way, all right. What's the moll of the story. If there's some more I don't know, I just say, pay for your plate. You try to figure out what the plate costs, and you try to make that proper arrangement. Remember when when people are getting married, that's the beginning of the union. A lot of times they just don't have it. So

any bit of support will always help. Yeah, and you're there to say celebrate the couple. So no matter what decisions they make. If you're friends with somebody who's getting married and you want to go and show your support, then just do that. And let's not complain about whatever. If you got to pay for your own plate, just go and show love and all that stuff about the daddy got to pay for your daughter's wedding. That's out the window. We're not doing that anymore. Only because you

got four daughters. That was only in the nineteen hundreds and in the two thousands. We're not doing that. If you had six sons, you want it maybe, but I got four daughters. Now we're stopping that right now. Has anybody ever has anybody out there had to go funded go fund me funded wedding? And I'd like to know. I never thought about that. That would work, that would be good. I just wonder, have anybody ever done to go fund me for a wedding? You do go fund

me for every day? Out? All right? Well, we got rumors on the way. It's a breakfast club. Go Morning Morning. Everybody is DJ Envy Angela Ye, Charlomagne the guy. We are to breakfast club. Let me give a shout out to all of DMV workers. Yesterday I had to go to h DMV and Newark and they helped me out and looked me out and has some things that had

to take cam. So shout to all of DMV workers. Man, you don't realize how difficult it is for them, everybody having to wait on the line and being pissed off at them. So I just want to say salute to all of the DMZ workers out there. Salute all the DMV workers. Slut miss Barber out there in monk Clay in New Jersey, Sloot all the DMV workers. And I want to salute Djto man dropping a clues box for Djto.

That's that's the homie from South Carolina. She hit me up and she said, nah, big bro, thirty fifty dollars per person is about right at least in North Carolina and South Carolina. That's the normal wedding dinner of like chicken, rice, sides, bread and drinks. Only a select few gets salmon or something like that. And she does a lot of a lot of weddings. She's done quite a few, like three in the last ten days. She said, God menu is pretty much the same. And she said, uh, thirty dollars

a plate. That's probably like twenty fifteen prices go. She said, right now, it's probably about fifty ish. And she said the person saying one hundred and twenty five per person. That's the dj nview wedding. Well, okay, that's what TiO said. That's what TiO said. Well, I mean, you could always take me to what's it called the Thunderbird. That the Bird of South Carolina. They had something that's in Florence, Florence. That's that. They had some great food over there at

the Thunderbird. And she said five hundred to plate. That's just ridiculous. That's celebrity wedding prices. Yeah, no, nobody pays five hundred. She actually said something, elf, but I'm not gonna repeat that. You're not gonna She actually said, who else wedding that could be? But I won't repeat it? All right, and Uto and shout to Steve Harvey. It'm gonna be on the Steve Harvey Morning Show tomorrow talking about my new book, Me and my wife's new book,

Real Life for Real Love. So shout us spoke to him this morning. He said he can't wait to come by the program and cuss with us a little bit. That's my guy had had dinner and drinks with Steve a couple of weeks ago. He said that he said he want to come sit down, sit down. He wont to come sit down with us. Yeah, respect with so much that he's done, and somebody say he's accomplished, and what he continues to do is it's it's always that's

amazing and inspirational. That man that but on the air, off the air, that man gives you amazing, amazing advice. You know, the reason I named my first book Black Privilege was because of Steve Harvey. Really yes, because what I told him. My original book title, original book title was gonna be called I Don't give an F and neither ship you a self help guide on how not to give an F. And we was riding around his ranch in Atlanta and he goes, nah, player, that ain't it.

He goes, that ain't it? Man? He said, you got too much to say, You got too much life experience, and you've got too much wisdom you can share with with with people. And he was like, we need to give an F. That's what he said. People need to give an too many people not giving an F. We need to give an F. And I said, you know what you right, And so I dug a little deeper, dug dug a little deeper. Black Privilege. Yeah, No, when I spoke to him this morning. He was like, he

was very proud. He was like, you know, we need more brothers, more black men to talk about their experiences and to be transparent as you are. He was like, you know that, that's why he wrote this book. And

he said, we just need to be more transparent. So he was very proud of of where I came and my evolution, said because he said he when he started reading and seeing how it was the seventeen he was like, man, it was like but the pact, the fact that you evolved and became a better man, is what made him so proud. So shout to Steve Hard. Oh you're missing one party, said he said. And I ain't never had a problem making my wife all gas at seventeen. I was laying it down. He didn't say that to me.

He didn't say that to me. He said, I could tell I was early on because you got six kids now, so you must have been putting down. That's what he didn't say. He didn't say anything about that. First of all, it's plenty of a week penis out here that's gotten women pregnant. Tell us about it. Oh, wow, tell us about it. I like that. I like that that was a nice return. I like that. I like that to shade when we come back. We got the rumors on

the way. Angela's going to make them done somewhere out there. It's the Breakfast Club Comre's this is the Rumor Report with Angela Yee on the Breakfast Club. All right. Well, in June, a little Baby documentary we'll be premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival. It's called Untrapped, the Story of Little Baby. It's directed and written by esteemed filmmaker came Gil and it will detail the explosive rise of the Atlanta rapper. Little Baby will also attend the premiere and

give a special performance after the screening. I think Little Baby's so dope as an artist and as a person as a human being. And I've seen a lot of artists in this industry, and what he does for his community, the fact that he gets back so much, whether it's through giving clothes, sneakers, or doing basketball courts over or just mentoring the kids, and he gets busy. So salute to a little baby. And it's a lot of people don't know about a little baby. I'm actually on that.

I'm on that documentary. So salute to my man P and QC. But a little Baby has a very very interesting, very interesting story to your point in that is one of the biggest things about Little Baby, how connected he is to his community. He is. He is neighborhood little baby for real, for real, all right. And DJ k Slay that memorial for him will be held at the Apollo, So that's going to be happening on Sunday, April twenty four.

The details on the service include an obituary that sums up the impact that djk Slay had on hip hop culture. They said, as a child, he was drawn to disco dancing the hustle. When early hip hop DJs began turning breakbeats from those songs into proto rap music, he traveled to the Bronx to observe and participate in the rising culture. He would hop on the sixth train and go up to the Bronx reper Center to see Africa Bambada and

the Zulu Nation rock. And that's when he took up the affiliated art forms of breakdancing and graffiti, even casually rapping with his friends, mastering every element of hip hop culture. Yeah, that's I mean again. As a side in a horrible one.

He was so big for hip hop in the DJ community and what he created and what he did, Like he was huge on independent artists and breaking independent artists, and if it wasn't for him, a lot of those New York independent artists and New York street rappers wouldn't have a shot a chance. And he gave him that opportunity and he represented for the jails and all the streets all day long, every day. So definitely rest in peace, case slay, and condolences to his family all right now.

Lizzo recently did an interview with Angie Martinez, two people who I love, and in that interview she talked about a lot of things. She talked about a viral moment. She got some backlash over some comments about Swelli and future and here is what she had to say about

that is Lizzo a rapper. I got annihilated on the internet early days, early days when I was tweeting, and I was like, I was like, yo, Like there's a lot of rappers that are actually singers, but they call them rappers because if they're aesthetic and they're using melody, they're using melody to create music. And I think it's a beautiful thing. And so I was like, yo, you know, I I rapp and I sing and I do the same, but I am as much as a rapper Swali or

Future and I got destroyed by then. They was like, shut up, no pictures in the club? No, no, what did I do? She's not wrong though, Yeah, she's not, she said. She ended up deleting her message after all of the backlay. I can't even understand why that would get backlash. Well, yeah, because it's not like she called Future and Swalie singer. She just said that they're rappers who use melodies, which is a fact. And by the way they are singing, they may be rappers that sing,

but they're still singing. She never sound like anything malicious. I don't understand now she us talks about keeping her relationships private because she does have a Bay and she has not revealed to the world who he is. But here's what you had to say. It's Lizzo single. Oh what is the next one? That's the next question? Will you ever be one of those people who's like confidence, like who likes putting relationship? Like? What? Will you always

be like private and mind your business? Everyone? It's keep what you love secret, you know. And I think that that's really important to keep the things you love a secret because it's yours, you know, and it keeps it special, keeps it safe. If you keep it a secret, you're keeping it safe. And I think that love is worth protecting. All right, Well that works for her, So not mad at that at all. And she also talked about being a vegan. Here's what you had to say. Is Lizzo

a vegan? No, I'm a vegan. I was thinking about Sorry, I'm a vegan. Did something bring that up for you? Ye? Happens something I said? It was? It was the way you looked at me. Oh you felt Yeah, I would. I would bottom for you for shit, you know what. It's so sweet kidding me. Yeah, I'd like you dominate me. I have a soft pink side. Could be you could be soft and paying dr verse you know, let's go

all right? Well? Yeah, Seeing it was after about being a vegan, and somehow she was thinking about penis during that time. I could see the correlation. What was the correlation between Angie Martinez and penis? I'll ask you what word got bleeped? Penis? Yeah? I mean, I can't say it still, she said. She looked at angel Angie martinezn't thought about penis. She said, sorry, that's what she was just thinking about. I don't know why, but I mean, I understand when Vegan I do think penis, but I

don't think Angie Martine hasn't think penis. Listen, did you think like you think no meat and then automatically E think? All right, well anyway that is your rumor. Reports All right, thank you, miss Ye. Now don't forget asks coming up eight hundred five A five one oh five one. If you got a question for ye, phone line to wide open again. Ask he's coming up in a little bit. Eight hundred five A five one oh five one. Now, Charlemagne, who you giving your donke? Hey man, it's four twenty.

Let's talk about drugs, why don't we? Okay, Okay, there's a young man named Roy Porter and his partner Jared Mayo. They need to come to the front of the congregation. We'd like to have a word with him. And by partner, I don't mean sexual, I just mean like partner like patna. All right, all right, we'll get to that next. It's the Breakfast Club co Morning. So breakfast Club. Your mornings will never be the same. What up y'all? A's dj envy. Make the switch to the General Insurance and you could

If goes to a Bridgeport, West Virginia man named Roy Potter and it's partner Jared Mile, it is not lost on me that today's donkey or the day is on four twenty, the day that millions

of Americans celebrated drug that still remains illegal in America. Yes, we'ed still remains classified as a Schedule one illegal drug federally. One of biden One of Biden's campaign promises was that he was going to federally decriminalize wheat, But like most of Biden's big campaign promises, it hasn't happened. I do love the fact that the federal government has continued to let states implement marijuana reform without too much federal intervention.

That is a great thing, but the lack of clarity from the administration has caused complications for the industry, had consumers, we could get a lot more marijuana reform if it was illegalized or at least decriminalized on a federal level. Okay, you still got people in federal prison over non violent we defenses. Okay, It's simply not where it needs to be. People. Now, what does that have to do with today's donkey or to day? Well, I mean today's donkey or today is

drug related, but we're not talking marijuana. Were talking meth. Okay, not the m et h O d man but the m et am fhetamine. Okay, see Roy and Jared went to jail and have been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Now, look, I've had those same charges ironically with weed though Okay, I actually had possession with intend to sell or whatever whatever the hell it was, and I was charged with selling to an undercover.

So look, it happens. But oftentimes it's not that you, you know, got caught, it's how you get caught. See, I wasn't trying to get caught when I got caught. Okay. Can you imagine the road Runner ever just handing his ass over to Wily Coyote. Whoa is there a generation of people who don't even know who Wily Coyote is? And he asked me to explain who Wally Coyote is.

Explain who Wiley Coyote is. Well, Wiley Coyote in The road Runner where Looney Tune cartoons, and Wily Coyote used to chase the Roadrunner all the time because he was hungry as hell, which I never understood because I want to know what was he eating that gave him energy to do all that cardial But the point I'm making is, imagine if the Roadrunners just ran up to wily coyote

and jumped in his mouth. Just imagine, just imagine wild, Just imagine the road runner went right down Wily Coyote's throat. That would be strange, right, well, what Roy Porter did with the equivalent of that. Let's go to w DTV CBS five for the report. Police. Two Terson County men were arrested after officers saw what appeared to be crystal meth. According to a criminal complaint, officers conducted a traffic stop

on I seventy nine on Sunday for improper registration. The dry, fifty seven year old Roy Porter of West Union, went to hand officers would he believed to be a packet of registration information on the vehicle when a small plastic bag fell out. Officers say it contained crystal like substances that is consistent with meth amphetamine. An officer with a canine arrived on the scene and gave a positive idea

that it was in fact drugs. Officers found two plastic bags filled with over two hundred grams of what appeared to be crystal meth on the passenger, Jared Male. Both men were taken to the Bridgeport Police apartment for processing before being taken to North Central Regional Jail. Let me tell you something, man, if you are out here handing the police officer your drugs when you get pulled over, then you have already had too much of your own drugs.

And this story right here has happened to me. Okay, I'm sure if you searched Breakfast Club are brilliant idiot archives you have heard me tell this story before, the same exact thing happened to me in Fort Lead, New Jersey, back in like oh seven or oh eight. I'm riding with someone, we get pulled over. Dude hands the cops the packet. In the packet was his license, insurance card, registration,

and four grams of cocaine. That's right, four grams a blow that bumped that book of sugar whatever you want to call it. He handed it right to the cops and then acted like the cops planted it on him. So we all went to jail, and he didn't admit it was his until we already were down at the station and book. So these things happen, but they usually happened to extremely stupid individuals, okay, who are on drugs. And I'm gonna tell you Roy just like I told

my partner when he did the same thing. You got to be about the stupidest some of a bit. Okay, I'm out here, we all out here trying to duct the law. I don't even do anything illegal, and I'm trying to duct the law. I'm scared just reaching for my registration and insurance. Meanwhile you out here just crashing into the law and saying here, it's about insurance, registration, license and what do you need to arrest me? A little meth? His four grams. A matter of fact, I

got somebody riding with me. He's got two hundred and twenty grams and met on him. Take us both in, and I got one question for twenty one year old Jared Mail. You had two hundred and twenty grams of meth on you? What's wrong with your legs? If your man Roy stupid enough to just give the drugs to the police, then you gotta be stupid enough to run

you twenty one. You probably would have gotten away, okay, but no, Roy handed the cops to meth with his license and registration and insurance, and you just sat there waiting to get locked up like you got a boyfriend in jail. You couldn't wait to get back home too well. Roy Porter has been charged with conspiracy to commit a felony. He is currently being held on a five thousand dollars bond.

And Jared, who had two hundred and twenty grams and meth, was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He's out on barn. No need to play a game. I guess what race it is, West Virginia. Meth low bonds one already out on barn. We know what this is. Please let Chelsea handle. Give Roy Potter and Jared mail the biggest he hall hee haw hee haw. That is way too much. Dan man as too much, goddamn man.

He's all right, well, thank you for that done kid today, sir up next ask ye eight hundred five eight five one oh five one. If you need relationship advice or any type of advice, phone lines are wide open. Call us now. It's the Breakfast Club. Come on, what what what's you gonna know? Baby mama issues sneak some words of wisdom? Call up now for asking eight hundred five eight five one oh five one the Breakfast Club. He need relationship advice, need personal advice, just the real advice.

Hall up, now for ask ye banning everybody. It's DJ Envy, Angela Yee, Charlomagne, the guy we all the breakfast club. It's time for asking ye. Hello. Who's this Kim? Hey Kim, what's your question for? Easy? Um? So, I'm currently in a sexual relationships and the strictly dress sex, but we have, you know, outside conversations outside of you and everything, and I'm kind of catching feelings. But I would under the impression, and I was understanding that he was strictly sex and

only sex. But I think I want more and I don't know how to approach the situation. Okay, you want to the sexual part, because even if you don't want it, I still want the fact. Do you guys ever do anything besides have sex, like go places, maybe the dinner or a movie or anything. No, So maybe you should try to see if he's receptive to even like, hey, um, let's grab some lunch first and see what he says

about that. That's how you could kind of start to fill it out, to see what it is that he may want, if he might want to do more than just have sex. Have you ever tried to do that you know, yeah, I didn't want to ruin that part.

I didn't want to ruin it. I didn't want to pretty much get rejected, and then there's nothing left because I think, you know, you guys had this understanding and I get what you mean the way this relationship started, and you guys have this, and then you don't want to say that, and then he's like, oh man, now she's starting to catch feelings. I don't even want to

be around for that. But you never know. Now, if there's something that he likes doing, or you know, something that you know that he enjoys, be like, hey, somebody told me about this. We should just go do this and see what his response is. You know, like if you know there's a game on or something like that and you're like, yo, we should go watch the game and see how he reacts to that. That's how you can feel out if he's interested in doing more than

just being in the bedroom and make sure. So it's the rejection part. So if you say no, like how do I continue to have the sexual relationship or should I just cut it off? I think that if you want more and you know what your feelings will end up getting hurt if you continue to just sleep with this man. That's why you got to know, because either way you need to know. It could either turn into something that could be more or it might be something

that you have to spare your own feelings. You guys aren't on the same vibe in the same wavelength, and if you want to be in a relationship and ship at some point and he's not open or receptive to it, then it's better for you to know. Yeah, Okay, I know it's hard, girl hurt. Yeah, but you know what I mean. Either way, you could drag this out even longer. I'm know I'm saying. If you don't say something, you'll

end up dragging this out even longer. And if it's not what he wants, then your feelings will eventually get hurt, and it might be more hurtful later when you're even more invested. Do y'all ever talk about personal things? Yeah, okay, so you have. I know that he would be my person. I know that he would be my person, but it's

just we got so much in common. We vibe so well when we do have conversation, but we don't go out because I don't want to push it and then he rejected, and then I'm left with not even so you know you you missed one percent of the shots that you don't take though. Yeah, oh, I don't be mad if I take this shot and one of the whole game. It's either you do that or you just stay quiet and keep on doing what he went without

getting what you want. Wouldn't you rather know? Yeah? I would? Okay, but good luck man, maybe the best thing will happen and he'll be like, okay, well finger trunk on that one. All right, We're gonna pray for you, right, thank you? All right? Ask ye eight hundred five eight five one on five one. If you need relationship advice to any type of advice, call it up right now. It's the

Breakfast Club. Good morning, I'm some real advice with Angela ye kids, Ask ye morning, everybody in dj Envy Angela Yee, Charlomagne, the guy we are the Breakfast Club went in the middle of ask ye Hello, who's this? Hey? What's your question for you? Yes? I have a question. My question is I have a daughter that's thirty seven years old

and she's been living with her baby's daddy. She got three kids with them, and now she's going to have this traditional wedding if they she's going on a honeymoon, and I'm like, you're not going on a honeymoon, and I would be a vacation because you probably don't even have sex on the vacation, you know, on a socar honeymoon. Y'all been together twelve years. So I'm just trying to tell her that it's a different between a honeymoon and a vacation. Uh. If she wants to get married and

go on a honeymoon, what's wrong with that? I don't saying, up for twelve years so marriages might make that could help, and it could change the dynamics of their relationship and make it even stronger. I mean, why can't you just say vacation to me? I'm like, I guess I'm traditional. I feel like a honeymoon should be for someone who has just slept together. Up. Girl, you know how many people aren't slept together and still went on a honeymoon. How just you're trying to tell my daughter, don't be

saying stuff like that. You know that that Listen to me. A honeymoon is what you do after you get married. It don't matter what your situation is it's a honeymoon otay? O't like yeah, I mean like that's a small thing to even be concerned about. You know, you should be happy for her that she's I'm happy for her. But what I'm saying is I just I'm just traditional. I don't know, that's just me be happy for all of it. This already not like what you would consider a traditional situation.

So you know whatever, she's exactly so I don't even want her going in the church doing all that like that. But it's not like I don't know, but you okay, I'll yeah, just be supportive, man, she's trying to say. Ye I hear you. Just be supportive though. That's you know, that's your daughter. She's happy, you like her husband has soon to be husband. Okay, do you like him? No comment? Is that what this is really about? No? No, no, no, no, okay,

all right, well just be there for her. It's already not easy in a stressful time, so she needs you in her corner. Okay, thank you, you're welcome, all right? Ask ye ain, don't dread five A five one or five one. If you need relationship advice or any type of advice, you can call ye. Now we got rumors on the way, yes, and let's talk about future. He is on the cover of GQ magazine and he's answering some questions. All right, we'll get to that next. It's

the Breakfast Club. Good morning, Oh goshru Reports Club. All right, Well, Vanzino was on It's Tricky with Roquel Harper podcast for TMZ and he talks about taking legal action against fifty cents and he compared him to six nine. Here's what he had to say, talking about a man that is on paperwork ratting. We're talking about a man whose lyrics that was using federal indictments to indict a bunch of

people with I mean, okay, are you saying fifties? He's the first six He's the first six nine, you know, like the first hip hop rat that's a fact. Now he's going on to do great. How do you so it's a so fifty cents on papers? R No? Seriously, is he really on papers for rock? You don't remember with Murder Inc. He filed paperwork against Murder Inc. Back then you had to take a pen and a piece of write on that, and that's what he did. Has fifty responds yet I'm sure he is. Yeah, I don't

think fifties concerned so much. I don't think he responded, you don't need to be concerned fifties like everybody else, he likes the content. He's just gonna have some fun later on Instagram. I'm sure I tell you who did respond dj mv TMZ slick. They'd be catching me everywhere. But yeah, No, all I said is is you know that they were asking about some of the things fifty set and I pretty much said, well, fifty center is my brother, and I can't talk bad about the brother.

He's done nothing but great things for me. And there's certain people like you can't I can't talk bad about Charlemagne, I can't talk about about Angelie is certain things I'm not going to So it is what it is, all right? My role for that? No, no, not at all all right now, Nicki Butna just asking for rappers to sent versus for the week go up a remix, So I can't wait to hear what this is gonna sound like?

She posted, going once, Going twice? Are there any rappers that were like a verse on the week go U remix and Instrumental is on iTunes fff it up and send it to me, and she said, that's what the f I used to do. But this, but that is I and I am him slim Thick with the tilted brim We Go Up video out? Now, Okay, who you think should be on this remix? I haven't heard the song. I got to hear the song. I haven't heard we Go Up yet? Well, you know right now it is her in five year o four un so all right

and Jada Pickett Smith's and Red Table Talk. That trailer has been released. A lot of people were saying that Will Smith was planning to go on and make his first statements in person on Red Table Talk, but we did not see him on that trailer. Yeah. I wouldn't want to see you, Will on Red Table Talk, just because I just feel like that would be kind of performative, you know what I mean. I think that when you actually are doing the work and seeking real healing, you

don't have to do the interview about it. Absolutely. I think I think Ye and I should go on Red Table Talk. I think that would before man, that's the only thing that would have made that conversation about not having an orgasm for ten years better if it was on Red Table Talk because everybody was saying, you will Smith's two point though, they was I saw people saying that yesterday somebody said. I saw somebody say Gear graduated

from Jada Pinkett Smith University. In the crazy thing about it, what I would understand is I'm the one that told a story on the Breakfast Club. First. We've been talking about it for the last two years. It kind of just hit different. I think, Yeah, I don't know, we've we've been talking about on the podcast. It wasn't something that I'm ashamed down or she embarrassed me. We've been talking about. Man, hey, please go on Red Table Talk. I would love to see Gear and Jada Pinkett Smith jumping.

You do that for me. Do that for my birthday, go around summertime, around June. We're trying to set it up. All right. Well, I'm excited that Janelle Money is on this season. I love to hear her. She's been doing amazing and future. I was on the cover of GQ magazine and some of the things he talked about is his new music working with Drake Yea, calling him the

most influential and quote toxic talk. You know, there was a great debate online yesterday and it made this way to my group chat because I guess on the front of GQ they put best Rapper Alive for Future and Elliott Wilson did the article, actually read the article yesterday. Best Rapper Alive is always subjective. But Future has been your favorite rappers, favorite rapper for about a decade now, So that's not a reach to me for somebody to

put best Rapper Alive next to him. That may not be my personal, you know take, but I recognize Future's influence and I do enjoy Future's music, But like I said, he's been your favorite rappers, favorite rapper for about a decade, and best Rapper Alive it's subjectives, so it just depends on who you asking. Yeah, it's not it's not a horrible take, it's not. Yeah, it's not something that should be like where where did that come from? Right? Not

for Future? Every metric, every metric from radio, the clubs, the streets, you know, touring, whatever it is you want to screaming. He was the number five most streamed artists of the decade of any genre like futures a goat and you know whose people love a lot that I hear a lot young thug, and I saw he posted that he has um you know, a new album cover. He said, these past few weeks gave me so much to talk about y'a already, so that should be coming

soon too. I think he's dropping the same bad future. I'm not mistaken, but I'm Angela Yee And that is your rumor report. All right, thank you, miss ye. Now when we come back, of course, it's four twenty, so we have to do it. I wish we could, can. I got too much press to do today. I thought about it. You looked high in the other video, which one when the one you say you didn't make gear or gathering for teen years? What you're worrying about that video that it turns you on? It's hilarious turn I

watched that video a lot yesterday. I made you when you just sitting there with the blank face. I made that my screen. Say you're triggering. That's real life, real love right there, that's real life real love. That's right, he maybe screen. But you do look like that yellow emoji. You ever seen the yellow emoji? That's just blank just I'm gonna send it to you. You look like one of them emojis. That's just like when when you don't want to laugh at the person, but somebody says something

that you just like give him the blank stare. That's how you look. Don't say it to me, it's triggering. I loved it. I found it hilarious. Okay, I'll rapping the clue's bombs for gear Man. Shut all right. Knew that sport was fake, but she still moaned because she gremlin. I know, Giar was masturbating like crazy during the who all right, whoa? He went too far? I went too far, drove to call the road. My god, both of you guys,

what she's supposed to do? Well, if you don't know what we're talking about, we talked about it in my book, Real Life, Real Love. She was going to the bathroom to peaks out. This was early on in our relationship, and pick up the book. Oh my god, we want to see the numbers jump. Hopefully we can get to a number one. So she needs a deal with a vibrator, all right, yo, for real, Now you about that money. She should get a vibrator called the Real Husband. Wow, wow,

real vibrator, Real husband. You know what? Okay, let me stop, I said it's gonna be nicer after reading the book. You guys are mean. It's just just triggering. I just had to get that all those women out there who can't this is why, and this is why black men and men don't like to talk about certain things, because you guys make fun of everything I was. I was very transparent in this book. I talked about my insecurities. I talked about the things that bothered me. I even

talked about my you know, being at my bottom. But we really feel bad for gear. And let me tell you something about comedians. Comedians best work comes from their pain. And I laughed at your pain a lot in that book, Envy, especially that story. Okay, that's why being transparent it's hard for black men out there, and all black men we have to stand together against bullies like Angelie and Leonard McKelvey. Man.

Shut up, you Dominican. So check out Let's Service because she really goes in death about not having an orgasm on lip Service. It's the breakfast club. The breakfast club. I know Charlomagne knows because since he has a book in print and written, he wrote two books that for a lot of authors is very difficult to break the top one hundred because the top one hundred is all types of books. I'm talking abou kid books, I'm talking about hardcover books, softcover books. I'm talking about the Keto diet and all that. So to getting the top one

hundred is it's an amazing feat. And yesterday we broke the top twenty in UM in a hard book and just books and all yeah on Amazon. I mean Amazon literally has millions and millions and millions and millions of books. So if you cracked the top twenty. You cracked the top one hundred.
