Now, Rudy Giuliani did say that could potentially he does have the power probably to pardon himself, even though he has no intention of doing so, because what would the result of that be.

But I wouldn't put anything past Donald Trump. He's been doing all kinds of things that we said were impossible. No one would do that. And other experts are saying that no one is above the law, and no man should be the judge of a case that affects him personally. So any attempt by the president to part himself for crimes would create a constitutional crisis. All a pardon that just dog whistles do all the law breakers out there. He's just basically saying, look, I got you. Okay, I

And I went a couple months ago with these kids from Rockets University. They do this program where they install these solar panels. So we're going into these towns and I'm like, holy, this whole town is still not lit up, like still

and you don't ever see it. And you know, the death totally just announced was over fourth there was like four thousand and six hundred people, like Harvard didn't even know and the government, the US government was telling us to sixty something people. Sixty something to four thousand and six hundred is a huge That's not like a small mistake. That's like that feels like they don't care nobody kids,

Why were just hearing about that? Like just I'm really grateful that Harvard did that because if not, then people wouldn't even understand how I mean, just to put it like I saw la Lauren Belez posted something about just to put it in perspective, like Katrina, I think was like two thousand people lost their lives, um something similar to nine to eleven. I mean, more people lost their

life in Puerto Rico. That's not to describe me. Any life lost is horrible, right, it's just trying to let's just put it in perspective, how tragic this situation wasn't and it's not being treated as such, and people are still you know, they're still struggling out there. So I didn't want to just be at the parade waving the flag like Yo, we're here. Of course we're here, and

we love Puerto Rico. We're proud of that. But also this year, I just want to like really encourage people to help in some way, right, you know what I'm saying, Like in some capacity, find somebody you trust, find some organization, and it's really the people on the ground, because the people have the way they've been surviving is the people on the ground like coming together and fixing the communities. And so if you can find like grassroots organizations, I'm

doing another trip. We're gonna go back with these panels. I mean, I found the school. We were the first light bulb. Like this was just last this is six months after Maria. We're the first light bulb in the whole place. These kids have been going to school in the heat six months, no air conditioning, no like nothing. Still, this is one little town, just a small group of us. So I really want to go light up that whole school with such great kids there, say what can we

do well? Also, so I'm gonna I'm starting to go fund me. This is a small thing. This is I'm not with like some big organization. I'm literally putting these small trips together to go do a single school or whatever. You know, so it doesn't have to be mine. I'm doing a trip and if you want to support me

It's not like this is still a beautiful island, you know, but it is an island that has been neglected after you know, a tragedy of this size. It's like it's really sad, and you know, they treated like it's not. It's part of the United States. Terrible over there in that country. You mean the United States,

its country. It's we're in the same country. Any other part of the country, this would be treated at a whole different level spoiled here. The driver that drove me from the airport was telling me that he didn't have any power for two months. That's such a long time. He's fine now, but he was saying, that's just a long time. Imagine not having any power, right now I've been through that hurricane Hugo, Baby labadies power. Yeah, can you go to category five? Oh yeah? Yeah? People still

And this is how I know we live found Like they told me, oh, you know, he might not be in a good move where he comes in because he got robbed last night, And to me like, I'm like, oh, yeah, he got robed last night, all right, cool. I come men him for being professional enough to not want to cancel on Angie and say I don't care, I'm still

going to do my interview. But he probably didn't think he was going to cry either, being that his uncle had just been killed in a similar fashion crying be, what's wrong with you? Why are you crying? Be first? Why I didn't say that? I think he's like, yo, be I definitely say just what I was shot, because I we know people. You know, people get robbed every

day every day. So I was like, oh, this is not what I wish wasn't I didn't expect it was so heartless now though, because they were really making fun of him. I know people are terrible, and Jacole J. Cole is a great interview. I loved my Jole interview, Jacole, you would never have like a rapport with each other, like I like him vacation. I like him. I was on vacation, so I was in a vibe and I

like him and I trust him enough. You know how it is like you sit with artists sometimes and you have to lead the conversation, so you're like have to be you have to like push the train. And with Cole, I have a certain level of comfort where I could like just sit there and be with him and know that the conversation will just happen. And he doesn't do a lot of interviews, so he has enough to say

to be president. And that's what happened. So we were just like great, I have great conversations with him on and off air. So I just wanted to like let that happen. What do you think of that trend of like artists having just one particular person they want to talk to. Oh, you have Kanye, Okay, I guess he's gonna be our Kanye correspondents. I guess I'm a that happens kind of just happens. That's why I like, what

do you think about that? Like, I mean, I think people you know, comfortable who they're comfortable with I think, and you also have like certain reports, but I don't think. I don't think Jay Cole's never going to do an interview with anybody else. I haven't seen him doing last thing if you remember him doing before this one was with you. Yes, yeah, that was also the last thing that sounds like you other than that, only that's a great hone. If I had to pick anybody, I'm glad

it's him. Well, I enjoy I enjoy that type of conversation. I need that, like I need that type of conversation for me. I mean, I don't know, what do you think about it? I guess I kind of feel the same way, But then I would like to see different Yeah, because I mean different interviewers have different perspectives, they have, you know, different questions they may ask. So I don't know what would you have asked Jicole. I don't. I

don't know. I like Jay Coole. People think I don't like Jay Coole, but because you get that off that vibe, I don't know why though, I think. I mean, his music to me is like something you don't really like it in your tone album always, I've only one album I really didn't like that for your eyes only. But I listened to Jacole at a certain time, like I call it Ted Talk music, like I love Ted Talk, but I listened to Ted Talk. It's also great time. But I could tell. So it's like all of us

could tell. I could tell who you really like connect with vibe, but and I don't. I don't just like you really like Pusha. I like, but that's historically great respect for Jay, of course you had. Like I could tell all about Drake. I think he likes drink a little bit less than Ja Cole. I like both the Carolinas. I like Drinke too, But come on, we can't act like push your not out here doing what he supposed to do. What are you thinking to put your drink beef?

This could change by next week depending on Drake's response, But let me say this. I didn't like that he put a press release out. I get he wanted to clear that up. I'd rather he had just gave us the whole. I don't like piecemeal when you like. I didn't like that Kanye piecemeal does his ideas about Trump like just something too sensitive? Say what it is or don't say anything. And it also made me feel like

he was really bothered by this one. He was. I mean, you know he's been getting he's been getting the picture removed from people's site, like if he posted like different blogs and stuff like that, he's been actually getting your removed. Well, we don't know that's him or the owner of the photo. It's definitely the one speculation this person has it on his team that decided to do that on their own, that he's focusing on the role. Yes, And in fact, you put out a whole statement and like you said,

that's such a sensitive thing. I need to but you gotta explain that a little bit more. Let me argue with you about something because I heard you say this earlier about Drake um, well what what has he done? But like black black black issues or things. And I just feel like and I had similar feelings about Drake, like I want you to move me, I want you to inspire me. You're an incredible dope artist. And I used to feel like that about him, and I slowly

see him kind of evolving into that space. And I also feel like we got to let people get there, you know what I'm saying. I think even Jay for many years he used to say I don't want to be preachy, and he got a lot of jay Z used to get a lot of criticism but for that, and he would do things quietly behind the scenes. But he was never like a soap box guy. He never wanted to be like the spokesper you know, he would do but he was always kind of reserved about, you know,

just standing next to too much stuff or whatever. And as he's evolved, I feel like he's done more and been more open about it, and I feel like Drake is on his path to that or not ask the question because if you make that statement in two thousand and seven and you say I did this because I wanted to make a statement for black actors, and I'm like, well, if you felt that way about black issues, then what

happened throughout your whole career thus far? But yeah, I think he was talking about that was the field that he was in. He was acting, so maybe it was. And if you're an artist too, you could be in a moment where you're like, I don't know, why are people treat me? We should do something, and then you just do it. And what year the bamboos will come out two thousand and what year did that picture two thousand and seven, but impossible he was inspired by that

and might not have been his project. Also, maybe it was someone else called him in to do a project in two thousand and seven. He's an actor. Because he didn't say I was producing a movie. Someone else might have did it. He said it was him and his friend who was also acting, and that was the premise

of it. I just need a little bit more when I see you in black face, my brother, I think that many years ago, and at that age there may have been it may have not been as clear to him at that point agree as it would be now. And also everybody's a little more woke than they were back then, so it's different. It was different, and people need to like I don't know, I just think now you shouldn't be making no types of mistakes like that now. It was so clear now. So if you're Drake, now

do you respond? Yes? You better? You can't just lay down for that after a press release. So how do you come back after a press release? I know, I wish I wish that would have came after. I wish he would have dropped the song because how's he gonna sound? Non bothered? Yeah, that's how we want to right. We want our song. We don't want him to sound bothered. That's never a good start. out there? I feel bad at him because if it is true and he and he had this way of like, how am I going to share this with the public, he's probably dealing with in a personal If this is true what we're getting, then he got you gotta deal with that in your personal life first, in your family and how you're gonna put it in your own head, and then you could decide how to put it out to the world. It's not his obligation to tell everybody

right away. He probably gotta figure that shout that big deal having a baby with somebody that you're not in a relationship with, that you probably don't know that well, that everybody's gonna have something to say about your kid, about your life about you know. That takes time to work all that out and then put it out there. So I can understand that pushes He did that work for him and push it. I mean, it's a dirty world,

this a rap battle business. But if I were him, I would put it all on the table like, Yo, this is what I'm going through this my child is foul that he and then maybe hit him a couple of times with a couple of jazz con and then pull on the hole. If I was advising honesty and realness always wins, you know what I'm saying. It might not win in that second, but the long run it will win. And gott to be dope. But he knows, but he knows how to make it those He knows

how to do a melanie. He knows to beat his cadenses like, he knows how to do that. So if he just comes and comes honest and hits with it, just he just needs like one or two good jobs, that's enough and then backs out the bat. excited about it. So the local one. They have a New York Hall of Fame and a national Hall of Fame. The one where that I got nominated for it was a national one, but the New York one. I went to Syracuse, the Broadcasting School, and I saw all the pictures of the people that were in the New York Broadcasting Hall of Fame, which I am not, and I thought that I'm crazy, and I thought that's insane, and I'm the New York Radio Hall of Fame and insane

that I just can't myself because I'm looking around. I see all these young girls, and I'm having these conversations with them, and they're telling me how they want to be in radio, they want to be in television, they're asking me advice. And I'm looking at the wall. Not only am I not there, but there's nobody that looks like me there and I and that bothered me. So it's not even so much like I deserve to be

on the wall. It's more like, yes, I deserve to be on the wall, not because I'm some whatever, because I put in the work and all because somebody in our you know, we we were here, like we put this work and to inspire people to bring people up with us, like two for the next generation. So if you cut us off and we act like we don't we're not here, we don't exist, then how is that supposed to inspire or elevate the next group of us?

And so humble that she won't even say that. The girl she was talking to a saying, I don't want to be the next Angie Martinez. I know that's what they were saying, because that's what they say to me all the time. He's like, I want to be the next Angie Mortine. So I know they were saying that. I always tell them, don't be it. Can't be the only one. I mean, there's only one you. You gotta bean you. You gotta figure out who you are, what your voice is, what you care about, and be that

as much as you can be. Like for yourself, Let's talk about what else you have going on? What do I have going on? Because I've been hearing about this talk show that Angie Martinez is doing. How far along are we with that? Who we're doing? Okay? Yeah, you know, you know, you know what's the process. Okay, but yes, that's what I'm supposed to do right my life. If you want to know it is I feel like that. I mean, I will get a talk show at some point natural transition. I'm trying to do it in the

biggest way possible for the same reasons I want. We're just talking about our voices are not represented well in certain spaces and I don't know why. And then people use words like hip hop and culture and then you and then you look at the people that they put in those spaces, and you're life. I never came acoos that person. What now you know? You say I'm humble or whatever, But there's a certain part of me that's like who better than me? Like who about me to

do that? And I would love and be honored to be able to fill that space. And so I feel like that for me is what I'm supposed to be doing next. Okay, good honestly, that's what I believe has always been in the cards for you. Your destiny. Yeah? Is that corny? No? And I think you're those things. That's why I want you to speak them. Yeah. When I think about my career and I think about all the things I've experienced in my life, in my book and how people reacted to my book, I'm like, what

should be a movie? By the way, thank you man, that's coming next, right, make a movie? Okay. When I think about all the things that have led to my life to be here, I think to myself, oh, that's why. So I feel almost an obligation and a duty to do that. Angie Martinez movie is gonna be so popping. Oh, the book is crazy and it's got to open up with the best scene something for you guys. And I love y'all and I love that you think like that. But let me tell you something. And if you stay

to crastine, I'm gonna come in. But not you know, and you know, if you work in the TV space, people don't see us the way we see ourselves. People don't understand us the way ourselves, our culture. We do great things. We do it, we don't we do it without but you know, when you're trying to break through, yo, you gotta explain. Also, my name is Angie Martinez. Let me tell you why. Really, now it is the best time. You're right, but now it was the best time because

because nobody wants to look culturally clueless. So they're like, oh, you're walking and like I know, Youngie, of course I know, yeah, but they don't they don't. They only know me from Google. They don't know. They don't know. They don't know why I'm different than somebody else who's quote unquote they like quote us urban or yeah, you know, you know it's dope,

like they don't know the difference. The movie is dope just because you started off like just as such a young kid in this business during such a great era. It was a good time, you know, and hip hop all the people that you knew. You were like the most powerful person in New York City when it came to hip hop. And then having your own career as an artist too, even though you hate talking about that,

but that's a big deal. Also, that's so different than you know, and a successful one, not just I tried to put out a couple of songs, but you had like videos And so my friend Shaka Shackles like you, like the Forrest Gump of hip hop like you. She's like any major moment, like you are connected in some way in some comments to all these things, and what a great life that is. Like to me, I'm grateful for that. Like that's pretty I don't know, it's pretty great.

So when I when I do get to the movie, to that um stage, I hope we we it's reflected that way. Do you think it's the radio experience? You think people can't relate to the radio experience, because like when I read your book and I read a story about like you know the pepper spray incident at Maddison Square Garden. We talked to our pepper spraide A and then Jay came to the station. Then Jay left and

all left. I can feel that because you know what that you're rushing to get to the station to get on the air because Jay wants to do an interview. I can feel that. I wonder if people just can't relate to the radio experience. Yeah, I think it's that, And I also think they have to be taught that

they have to see it. Yeah, when you see it, So the radio, right, especially back then, there was no video and so a lot of those stories they go they've gone away because you know, like stories like now like it's a Kashi interview or baby on video, we're gonna see all the time. But when I had Jay z R. Kelly in the middle of the night, because because R. Kelly just got pepper spray, it's not on the internet, right, So the stories start to lose. This is really one of the reasons I wanted to write

the book too. The stories start to lose the memory of it. So a lot you know the Jay r Nas battle, Yeah, the locks and puff the lock, the locks saying, ain't on the refrigerator. If you don't, that goes away. You know that because you're a radio you know, nerd like but like most people don't remember that because and so I do. I am working on something to kind of like bring those stories back to life other

than the book. So but yeah, man, So so you're really lucky, all y'ah that all of your history is well documented, because that like cements your legacy in a way that was more challenging for somebody like me. Even now, by the way, if anybody's because you have a very large audience breakfast club, I am looking for my R Kelly. So I had jay Z that night after the garden. R Kelly got Pepper's brade. I have the audio of jay Z's interview. I heard that one. The audio of

R Kelly's interview is missing. I never heard that one. I never heard r Kelly one. I only know a goodbody because I read it in the book. I've heard you know why you don't know it because it's not on the internet. Wow, but it happened. I remember people who were in the city. Now, Jay was like, good luck with R Kelly. I'm out of here. He was like, I meet me at the forty forty. Yeah, that's the

last thing he said. And then about twenty minutes later R. Kelly walked yea, and he and everybody said I was biased, and I probably was because I didn't believe him. I was trying to be fair, but he had just been peppers fraid as he couldn't say uh. And he's telling the story about how somebody was showing him a gun

in the audience, Like the interview was crazy. And I went through all my files, on all my debts and cassettes and all that, and we can't find it anywhere, but I know somebody in New yorbody definitely somebody has it. Vegas so that they could keep on announcing sold out shows. Instead, they put her back in the Caesar's with forty three hundred seats. Now, Mariah Carrey's publicists are saying the allegations are false, and they said somebody must be desperate to pretend to be in the know. They said, look forward to seeing you at the Vegas show if you can get a seat. I would rather the show be a disaster because of that than be a disaster because of

Mariah Carey's voice. Because that's what I thought you, That's why I thought you were going with the story. Well, yeah, you know, I guess the issue is are people gonna come out and support all right? Serena Williams, Now, I know you guys saw this over the weekend, she had

to endure some questions that were disrespectful. Now, Jeff Donaldson at who was a social media coordinator at Tennis Canada, was present at the French Open in Paris and they said an unknown reporter asked some questions that had people very upset. It was actually Bill Simons of Inside Tennis magazine. They said, I know you want to get back to Olympia. Work with me here please, and Serena responded, work with me, and then he said we're in this together, baby, and

Serena responded, no, we're not. You're not going home to a screaming baby. And that's when Bill Simon said, I have been waiting fourteen years to ask you this question. After the two thousand and four Wimbledon match with Maria, I had the opportunity to interview Donald Trump on his La golf course and he said that Maria's shoulders were incredibly alluring, and then he came up with this incredible analysis that you were intimidated by her supermodel good looks.

My question is, have you ever been intimidated by anyone else on a tennis court? And what are your thoughts about that occurrence. Why did you have to add the good look part in the days respect? Who did you think he is? Me? He could have just kept the part out about the looks and all of it. Now, Serena said, I honestly don't have any thoughts about it. I can't say that I have been intimidated by anyone. That's all. That's it. Super disrespectful question. It went viral
