The Brand ED Bullet, Issue 12

Robby

You're listening to the Brand ED Bullet from the Brand ED Podcast. Four freaky fast Friday wins to get you going for your weekend.

Win #1: Something to Try

Let's go. Win number one, something to try. You love discovering great podcasts. Now, maybe your jam is marketing podcasts. Maybe it's true crime humor, whatever it is. And you also know as a solo preneur, that being a guest on podcasts is a great way to grow your own brand. So you've got to go check out Rephonic. Now here's how Rephonic works. First you search the name of a podcast that you already love.

Then Rephonic taps into the listeners also subscribed to from apple podcast and then three, you get this really cool 3d graph of similar podcast. I'll put a link in the show notes of an example of what that looks like. I'll also give you links to re phonics results for three of my favorite podcast, heavyweight revisionist history and the rise and fall of Mars hill. The 3d graph is perfect for finding new podcast.

Targeting shows you want to pitch for a guest interview or just the sheer entertainment of scrolling around through the 3d graph. It's definitely worth

Win #2: Something a client recently asked

the click. Win number two, something a client recently asked. I'm co-hosting a workshop with some of my friends to help their audience with their personal brand websites. The number one question that will be asked on this training is the same question I always get. And that is what platform should I use for my website. But the question I always teach my audience to ask first is this, what do you want your website to do for your personal brand business? Too often we get sidetracked on technology.

I know it's confusing. I know it can be frustrating, but technology is actually the simplest piece of the puzzle to solve. The real challenge is nailing down the specific thing you want your website to accomplish for your business. Now here's a formula that I'll make them complete during any workshop training I do around websites. I make them complete this statement. I want a website similar in quality to blank. To accomplish blank. And avoid blank.

Which is worth blank, dollar amount to my business. I'll say that again. I make them complete this statement. I want a website similar in quality to, and then they fill in another website that they already like to accomplish blank for your business and avoid blank, which is worth this value or revenue to my business. Now what's the biggest challenge or frustration you have around your website right now? Reach out and tell me.

Win #3: Something to think about

Win number three, something to think about. I want my business to grow and succeed just like the next person. That's not the question I want to talk about. Here's the question that I keep coming back to, and oftentimes it delivers kind of a gut punch and a call to reorient myself every time I ask it. Here's the question. Is the accumulation of power or popularity. The primary means by which I aim to succeed in my business. And in other words, what mechanisms and levers.

Am I pulling to get where I want to go. Those mechanisms or means can be a slippery slope. What excites you most about where you are and where you want your business to grow and what challenges you most about how you will

Win #4: Something personal...

get there? Win number four, something personal. I want to keep something in front of me that by default, I often put behind me. It's this, My job is to empower you as my client. But my default is to do the things which in power, me that is that put me into a position of power. Empower E M P O w E R versus I N dash power. In power sound similar, but they are worlds apart. One elevates you the other aims to impress you. One respects you. The other aims to get respect from you. One benefits you.

The other benefits me. The fight against my default mode is what I try to focus on in the stillness of every morning. It's likely the most important work I can do for my clients. And my hope is that this work shows up on the balance sheet. Not in my brilliance sheet. In other words, my goodness. He's just so brilliant and so impressive. That is not my goal. When I work with a client. My goal that I have to keep in front of me.

Is to elevate you, respect you, benefit you, not put myself in a position of power or prominence. What are some helpful ways you work on yourself as part of working on your business? I'm all ears, reach out and send me an email.
