#299 Secession Chord 2020
We deal with the fallout from 2020 and the clusterfuck that presents itself as the first month of what was supposed to be the greatest ever New Year... oh, well.

Hang in there. It's almost over. And then again... whatever. But we will have a new year soon and so go will, it will be a little better than this. We lost a whole bunch of people, jobs, respect, trust... but we got more of the Mandalorian and we can all agree, this is the best the Star Wars Universe ever looked. Nice.
We discuss some of the latest political dystopia. Is he ever going to concede? Does it even matter? Would love to see s Is the Mandalorian a commie or why is he giving Beskar to the commune? What happened to great story lines in the movies and TV shows we love? What's up with the PS5 launch? What is Casamigos so expensive, George?
Well, title says it all. We really didn't put a lot of effort into this one...
Looks like around 30% of phone users won't be swayed and get a new iPhone12 no matter what racist, moronic opinions are held by it. That's the iBase. Plus, horrific customer experience at Telstra store. Unbelievable.
The verdict on Tenet is out. We were entertained. But figuring out what exactly happens when is a more like a red door thing to figure out. This podcast unfortunately got cut short due to a tech issue, but the main review is there. Apologies. Was too busy snacking.
Trump's got it.
With a musical mind, we approach the origins and history of video games. Epic Games vs Apple and new ways to 'make an app'. A French man in Kung Fu country. Street Fighting mind.
We have Allan from Kablamo as our guest – a cloud guy, among many other things. So we take the opportunity and chat about cloud computing, AIs, election fraud, surveillance, Elon Musk, profiling, google, egg heads, robot dogs, police violence, bottles, cans and everything else that is 'cloud' or will make you follow a possum down the street at 3AM to find out where it parked its tiny car.
We're reviewing Burger King's (Hungry Jacks) 'Big Jack. Plus, Umbrella Academy is out and we talk shop on alternate timelines and what's the best bourbon to get for your Old Fashioned... probably Japanese, right? It's all good!
There's a whole lot of red around the office so we ordered a bunch of pizza to review. Gaetan (March's new neighbour) is around to help out with the wine and shot on everything else – he's French. Ok, Capricciosa (of course, you need to establish a base level) Meaty One (what you'd expect, but there is a twist...) Rocketboy (we thought of as the popular signature move) Bosco (turns out a lot like the above... who knew?) Let's get into in!...
As if the pandemic is not bad enough... No good movies (we're still hanging in there for 'Tenet'), Trump is a tested moron, Gislaihne(? but who cares?!) finally in jail, socialism, half the testing is enough, Victoria ruins it for all of us, Fox News is crazy and so on... you get it.
We review Disney's latest masterpiece Artemis Fowl – wow, and what a stunner it is. We talk about some social justice stuff, politics and things...
It's after the Corona. We're back. Same shit. We really don't care.
We're distance-recording. It's nice. Good to hang out again, albeit at a distance. We talk Corona stats and general pandemic tropes and encounters, what to watch and what's worth waiting for. A good time.
Nick, Lionel, March and Dave are catching up under quarantine conditions to talk smack and try this new app everybody'd having so much fun with.
The Original David and March catch up inside the virus #tinySpaceShip to talk about everything pandemic, pro pads, perverts, paranoia, partnerships and painting.
Some of the latest movies were The Gentlemen, Knives Out, Frozen 2 and, of course, Interstellar. We agree on most of them, but one we really get a little aggressive about – betcha can't tell which one...
All the latest on the quafflepoloffle of streaming services. Most stuff is really just looking to be another GoT. We also have a fun overseas guest who's has the power to teach rats how to teach turtles and so on... and yeah, he can create dead air out of thin air. Awesome.
We're back for 2020 with a bit of a surprise sweep of stuff we've been watching over the Christmas break from Jedis, Mandalorians and Goldblums, over Witchers to Vampires – we've seen it. Happy, happy, twenty, twenty!
Hey Mark, you either gonna sell that guitar neck or you don't. Don't mess us around. Capiche?!
It's March's birthday and he talk for over an hour...
The state of everything, really. So much going on and people are just so terribly not-sorry for themselves these days... Let's be thankful for some cheap, good wine and the Cybertruck instead.
We watched 'the Irishman' (at the movies, you're welcome Mr Scorsese) and we're not even split on what we think of it.
After a drunk ramble about past dreams that March allegedly had at some point, Lionel and father Nick finally focus on the question of 'What constitutes a cinematic movie?' – in the eyes of Martin Scorsese and also in a more epistemological sense of conveying a cinematic narrative. 'Riveting!' would be the understatement of the decade.
We talk about the Mandalorian, mostly. What else is there?
Hidden in this episode is a segue from Star Wars 'Rise of the Skywalker' to Dick Splitting.
New iPhone 11, we have second hand accounts of the Link's Awakening, we beat the game and are almost ready to review. Outrage culture, we've had it and it looks like it's catching on. Smoked brisket, good eats around the Cross. Transgender athletes, the exception is the new rule. Jiu Jitsu, March got replaced. Child black belts, could you get your ass kicked? Umbilical cord, how to snap it in one bite. Baby, due soon....
Hero or Normal? Trump or just plain Idiot? Shit in my face or Suck my dick? Vestibule or Cloak Room? Fire ot Tire? Chorizo or Steak? Meaningful stuff throughout...
J-Lo is hustling the Block. Again. Trump. Wall enough? Superhero movie villains. Which one kills it? Women's Monopoly. Stop it. James Gandolfini. Get the fuck out of here.
