Episode description

In her late 20's, Rachael J. Brown was diagnosed with high cholesterol. At first she was confused - she had always adopted what she thought was a healthy diet, but in just 17 days of trying a new WFPBNO diet her cholesterol dropped a whopping 50 points. What ensued was decades of discovery surrounding the science of nutrition. Today, she is certified in both nutrition and food and sustainability, and has dedicated her life to helping families easily transition away from the Standard American Diet. Her new book, For Fork's Sake, speaks to:

  • WFPBNO...Without Going Crazy!: Rachael understands that the initial transition to a WFPBNO diet can be fraught with confusion and stress - she discusses ways to adopt a new shopping and cooking process that won't trigger anxiety
  • Is It Worth It?: Transforming your entire outlook on food can be a huge undertaking. Rachael shares why putting in the effort can save you and your family from a myriad of diseases and health issues down the road
  • Save Your Family, Save the Planet: A WFPBNO diet doesn't just benefit your family - Rachael discusses why the longevity of our planet depends on individuals refusing to cooperate with the mainstream food industry
  • Prioritizing Comfort: Plant-based doesn't mean no fun! Rachael shares kid-approved comfort food recipes that they'll look forward to for years to come
