You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM six forty. He goes on ABC and has an interview with George Stephanopholos, stepanop Pulis, stephanot Pull Yeah, a great guy, George Stefanopolis, and now Handle on the news. Ladies and gentlemen, here's Bill Handle, and good morning. It is a Wednesday home day and he is July tenth. Man, I'm about to mute my microphone going in and on a minute. Okay, there we go,

all right, first screw up of the morning. I try to go through an entire show without any mistakes, and so I made it into about twenty seconds. Neil, I can't hear you. Okay, that's you now, this is Are we counting your mistakes? Now? We just well you just their number one because you didn't turn your mic on. Okay, so that's one for one. Okay, I got one, You got one right now we do? Yeah, all right, Good morning, Neil, Good morning, Will Woolf, Yeah, Cono, good morning to you. Good

morning guys and ladies. Yeah, and Michelle, good morning, good morning, and we have you this week. I was talking to Michelle this morning about getting in She sends my stuff very early to me, about forty five minutes earlier than Anne. And I said, does that mean you get here earlier? She goes, no, no, I can't hear about two fifteen. Wow, yes, that's when I start my day when yeah, Amy, Yeah, that's impressive, Amy, So you don't miss this to you,

Michelle, Amy, Yes, good morning. What time do you get here? You said before, but I've forgotten. I get here at three thirty three thirty and cono, what time do you get here? I try to get here by four twenty, but it's usually four thirty, okay, twenty. Yeah, And when I broadcast at home, you know, I broadcast at home and the station I here. My commute is ten feet so that's not too bad. And I don't shower because I walk right after the

show. And I'm just especially in this heat, I am fitzing like crazy. And it's kind of a nice morning. Although I wake up at three o'clock in the morning, so just read my book and make my coffee. So you know I've always done that. Neil, what time are you up? I roll in about eight fifty five on the show. Excellent, excellent, saying okay, you also do double duty, sometimes at home and sometimes in the studio, because we now have the ability to do that. I

left the station yesterday about four thirty in the afternoon. Okay, fair enough, fair enough. Amy has no choice because she has to be in the news booth, and of course Kno has no choice because he's behind the board. And Michelle, you know, the producers, you know, can you do this show from home? Can you produce from home? Michelle? It's a little bit harder because of how you put together handle on the news, but you could. It would just take longer. Yeah, you know,

it's a whole new world. I mean, can you imagine the thought of three years ago, before COVID even considering setting up a home studio. It would just be impossible. But the technology today is so good that it's almost impossible to tell. And studios are dirt cheap. I mean, Neil, in terms of studios, it is a tenth of the cost that it was ten years ago. Oh yeah, absolutely, even for you know, even for the news department, the ability to broadcast from their vehicles or things like

that. Yeah, the technology is incredibly impressive. Steve Gregory. The other day, I was having lunch with Steve, and he's got a truck like a tahoe or something that belongs to the station with all kinds of equipment, etc. Set in the rack. You open the back doors and there's a

rack of equipment. And he brings out this suitcase about the size of a medium sized suitcase, brings out what looks like a plate about the size of a square plate, attaches it to the top of the suitcase on a on a bar or a little bit of a and it goes directly to a Starlink satellite and it is equivalent to those huge satellites used to see on buildings. This thing is eight inches and it's a full satellite broadcasting system. It's incredible,

Okay, impressive, it is impressive. That's technology today. All right, let's do it, guys. We've got a fair amount to cover today. It is a Wednesday, Hoday, July tenth. Let's do a handle on the news with Amy Neil and me and the lead story. Well, a group of what is being called foreign nationals in the country, illegally living

here, working here in southern California. International story been charged by the FEDS for a multi state conspiracy to install skimming devices on ATMs and point of units at retail units, at retail stores, and it is they were able to grab lots and lots of money. We knew that was happening. And all you have to do is take the information off of a credit card. And

it doesn't matter where you'll get the information. So you put a credit card into, for example, a gas pump, and it reads and you're able to steal that information and then charge on that credit card. The good news for the consumer is the bank suck that up. We don't know how much the banks lose every year. You know, they don't share that information. But if it's a fraudulent purchase, no, I wasn't there. No, No, this is South Dakota where this was purchased, or I was out

of the country or whatever. If you have any kind of a reasonable excuse for saying that's not mine, they just charge it back and they eat it. And that's only for credit cards, though it's not for debit cards, right, No, I think it's debit cards. Also, No, no,

it's not much different thing. Even if you have a credit card with the symbol of you know, it doesn't work the same, Okay, So you can't skim and I'm not particularly familiar with this, but Neil is because he does this all the time and scare you, sir, you shouldn't talk to me like that. I do have your credit card on file, yeah, unfortunately. So, Yeah, it's different because it's taking your money out. Yeah, that's the part I don't use. I don't use debit cards.

I do not use debit cards against my checking account. I have a separate debit card with like two thousand dollars in an account when I travel. But the last thing I want to do is have somebody take money out of my account and then start arguing with the bank as opposed to their money. And I'm starting to argue why I shouldn't pay it much much better position to be in eighty. Yeah, it's a whole different kind of stage for Alec Baldwin as his trial gets underway in New Mexico, and his wife may be

one of the actors on that stage. So yesterday before jury selection, Hilaria Baldwin or is it Hilaria, I'm not sure anyway, his wife, Larious pulls up to the courthouse in a black suv with the couple's toddler in tow and that happened shortly before jury's selection. They she takes the kid out of the car, puts the baby girl in view of the cameras, and then hands her off to a caretaker and then apparently drives away. The suv drives

away. But they're saying that it's an effort to humanize Alec because he, you know, he's kind of crass and obnoxious and they want to make him, you know, look like a family guy. Yeah, where the story breaks. They actually rented that kid for the day. What do you think is going to happen? She just picked the one of seven, the most recent seven kids. Seven kids with my family, but at we're Mexican. Yeah, I mean, you can't control yourself. I get it. But

seven kids with Alan W. Baldwin. And by the way, this is his latest wife. Doesn't he have kids with previous wives? Yeah? A child with Kim Bason. Okay, so that's eight. I don't know if they have more than one. Like Stevie Wonder. Stevie Wonder has had I don't know, forty six kids. I mean, he's had a lot of children. He also has a reality show coming out next year. Stevie wonder. No, me and my my fake ethnic wife who changed your name from

Hillary or something to Hilaria. I will say this, do you remember the tape handle the tape of him calling his oh, yes, the pig. Yes, yes, and that was released. Yeah, that was you're confusing him with David Hasselhoff. Oh you're right, that wassoff. Okay, no, no, there was that. There was that audio tape where he leaves out your message, you're a pig. Yeah. Oh yeah, very not

good. Not good. Tensions still high on Capitol Hill. House and Senate Democrats have met privately to talk about whether President Biden should stay in the race or drop out. And you know Jerry Nadler, who had over the weekend come out and kind of said yeah, it's time to go. He came out yesterday and said, hey, the president's running. He's our guy. Yeah. Yeah, it's even if it is overwhelming. And there's only been seven congress people, I think six congress people and one Senator who has said

okay, it's time. I mean that's out of what four hundred Well, I don't know how the Democrats have two hundred and something and then fifty, so you know, over three hundred people are saying no, are not telling him to stop and step down. This is the kind of guy where if it was overwhelming the number of his Democratic colleagues would say down, you go, No, he would stay put. He's running. He is running. I ask you how lucky is Donald Trump in this race? He got the

Supreme Court decision on his side completely, He got Joe Biden. And look what Joe Biden did during the debate. Oh. The other thing is yesterday, and when you know what's going on is I was listening to some CNN and some Fox interviews is reporters and people are now backtracking and looking at what Biden has done. For example, the stairs that he uses coming off of Air Force one, it's shorter, they're not as many, and that's I haven't really looked at that. But you haven't looked at that film. I

haven't seen that. No, they've been doing it for months because he kept falling on the larger set of stairs. And the other thing is that when he talks to the press now and answers questions, it's in three four five minute segments. He will not stand up there for a period of time. And as they look and showing pictures of him sort of old man, not focused, zoning out kind of thing. You're seeing a lot more of that. So, yeah, I don't think this is going to bode well for

President Biden. If the election were today, it would be it would be a landslide in favor of Trump. Speaking of Trump, he's challenged President Biden to another debate and a round of golf. So he held a rally last night in Dralph, Florida, and said that, you know what, I want to give President Biden another shot to redeem himself after the first debate and said I'll debate you anytime, anywhere, and then also said, hey, I want to challenge challenge you to a round of golf, and said that

he would offer a million dollars to a charity if Biden wins. This was one of the bigger issues during the debate. It was very golf handicap, I mean, kind of insane. Trump is actually a pretty good golfer. I mean, golf is his passion. Did you ever see Joe Biden pick up a golf a golf club. I've seen him swing a club, have you, Yeah? And does he swing it pretty well? Well? Yeah? I don't know how old the picture was. Yeah, the video was if he were to do it today, can he lift? Can he lift

a golf club today? The bummer was it was at a baseball game. That's true. Yeah, it's just I mean, it's it's it's this part. I mean, this is getting this gets ridiculous. And Joe Biden talked about his handicap, which is ludicrous, and Donald Trump talking about his handicap, which is ludicrous two point five. I mean, come on now, you're talking a really high, high end golfer. All right, I would guess that Biden has more handicapped than well said. Yeah, tip your weight,

tray. Yeah. California and the West are still days away from the end of this current heat wave that is just bearing down everywhere. Seeing triple digits all over the place here in southern California brought oppressive, even dangerous and deadly temperatures to many areas for almost a week, and so we still have more of it coming. This is scary. I tell you, you're going to hear less and less about we can slow down climate change. Well,

critical mass is already here. We're not doing jack, It's already the inertia is already here. The only issue is how bad is it going to get. It's going to be innovation, not conservation. We're just past that. Yeah, how do you how do you innovate with worldwide climate change? How do you innovate with anything we can know? But that, I mean that is innovation. There's certain things that are beyond your control, beyond anyone's control,

beyond sciences control. One of them is the weather. All we try to do is understand the weather. That's it. Same thing with earthquakes. We're getting the point now where okay, we can figure out earthquakes are coming in ten seconds. Same thing hurricanes. So flooding, well, now, flooding you can do because of the way cities are built and drainage, et cetera. You can do something about that. But I mean we're done. Climate change is here and it's getting worse. Well, look at this summer,

Amy, how many records were broken this summer around the world. I'm not sure around the world, but I know that in Lancaster and Palmdale it's been over one hundred and ten for like six days in a row. Yeah, isn't that lovely? Which is a new record. And Las Vegas is breaking records. I think it's going to be one eighteen there today. But it's a dry heat, that is true, So that's much better. A dry heat at one hundred and forty degrees is far easier to sustain than a

wet heat at one hundred and forty degrees. Palm Springs hit one hundred and twenty four degrees. Yeah, that's lovely. That's lovely. Even the gay guys are staying away from Paul and Springs now, they're just staying indoors. Okay, we're not going to touch that one, are we. The hurricane is gone, so the blame game is on. President Biden says Texas is going to be getting federal aid for Hurricane Barrel later than needed because state leaders

were slow to request an official disaster declaration from the White House. A White House spokesperson said they tried several times to reach out to Governor Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Patrick that they just connected with Patrick yesterday, after which the disaster declaration was declared. Yeah, and Patrick says that's absolutely not true. This is

an easy one. All you have to look at the emails and phone calls, and it's all on the record, Well there it is, uh now what so they can both point fingers, but the proof is in the pudding. Matter of fact, they actually serve pudding. Biden hates Mexican and white people. You can you can have both. You can have both the same you know you can have both the same time that they're not mutually they're not mutually exclusive. But did they say that about w when he didn't go into

North Yes. Yes, So he's flying over New Orleans and a helicopter Hurricane Katrina, and he said, you got He got huge, huge flack for that. Why didn't you go on the ground. Why weren't you there? And I happen to love George w I think he was terrific. And he said, I'm not going to go there and take up resources. When a president lands anywhere, security and they suck up virtually everything that's in that immediate area. And you said, I'd rather have I'd rather have this go to

aid, the money, the resources, the people. I thought that was a great move. All right, Let the lawsuits begin. A local Jewish man has filed a lawsuit against two groups that led demonstrations outside synagogue in la last month that erupted into violence and drew condemnation nationally against the demonstrator. The lawsuit alleges that the two organizations targeted the Attis Torah Synagogue in the Jewish Pico Robertson neighborhood back on June twenty third. It says they did it to cause

chaos, violence, and to block the entrance to the synagogue. Yeah, this is a real interesting one because, of course the Jewish groups are saying any of these pro Palestinian demonstrations are anti Semitic by definition, and this group, the defendants here in this lawsuit says, wait a minute, this has

to do with simply real estate. There was an ad in there was an ad taken out in the Jewish journal that said, we're having a seminar on housing projects in all the best Anglo neighborhoods in Israel and including the West Bank. All right, well, you know there's an argument that that has more to do with the state of Israel and Zionism than it has to do with anti Semitism. By the way, and you know which side of the coin

I am on that one. I mean, I make absolutely there's no issue, But you know, tell me that's not an argument Okay, what a crazy story. Twenty two years ago, an avalanche buried American climber Bill stamp Ull as he made his way up one of the highest p in the Andes Mountains. So the family obviously believed a long time ago that he was dead and they weren't going to probably find him. But just last month Stample's son got a call from a stranger who said that he'd come across the climbers frozen

and mostly intact body. Yeah, but that's up in you know, you go to go to Mount Everest. You know, for example, one of the most famous climbers from the nineteen twenties, George Mallory, who's considered one of the great pioneers to try to climb out Everest, and there's an issue as to whether he did or didn't. But they just discovered his body about ten years ago from the twenties and there it was. Oh yeah, you can see pictures of this. It looks like he fell down this morning and

broke his leg, and of course he died. They used some of them as markers to know where you are on the mountains. Yeah, they say, yeah, that's right. What they do is they stick people straight out, moved a hand up in the air and you could see them. It's it because they don't bring yeah for the most part, crazy, Yeah, they don't bring them down. No, because it could be incredibly dangerous. Price. It's dozens of people out there that are like completely dead. So

go ahead and okay, hip pouch. No, No. Driver's license contained a pair of sunglasses, a camera, a voice recorder to decomposing twenty dollars bill, a gold wedding ring still on his hand. I mean, if that voice recorder or any of those things still have information on it would be crazy. Amy. The next story you just did about toilet paper being used in Yosemite National Park, Yeah, yeah, that's great, isn't it.

It's great that people are well, you know, at least they're using toilet paper, but instead of using the restrooms that nature is calling in there, doing their business in nature and then leaving toilet paper behind. Yeah, lovely. Isn't that what you want to stumble on when you're hiking up to see the water. Do you certainly do? Yeah? All right. City of Los Angeles may soon raise the cap on how many dogs a household could have. You know, I didn't know there was an exact number. I seen

there was an exact number there. So they're going from three to four. I know people with four dogs. Yeah, well the county allows four, the city doesn't. Go how do you how do they enforce that? I guess the neighbor calls and the folks that had animal control or the department if you can't have too many dogs in the city of la comes out and okay,

so now you have four dogs. They come walking around too. When we had three dogs, we had, you know, a little notice on our door one morning that really looked like one of our dogs that was peeking out on the balcony didn't have a license, but she did, she just wasn't wearing. Yeah, and how many people take licenses out for their dogs only if you want to drive them on the public street? That is correct. So what that's got it that's got to just be an a whole neighbor

right. And by the way, and the reason they're doing this, which makes a lot of sense, is they want to lower the number of dogs that go to the shelters, which then the dogs get euthanized. I mean, we had a precipitous drop as to the number of dogs that were euthanized, and comes COVID and everybody wants a dog. And then okay, I'm tired of a dog. Let's send it off to a shelter. And it's yeah, they get euthanized and it's tough. Little dogs looking at you,

and well, you know the story of when my little one. I had to take it to the vet and put it down. It's a story I've shared before. And I held it. I held this little dog as the vet was putting in the pheno barbital, which everybody should do. Yeah, And I literally held it, and Suki was looking at me as her eyes closed. And then that wonderfully, very very nice man said, in a very calm voice, Bill, would you want to take the dog home for

burial? Or would you like us to take the dog and deal with it. I swear this is a true story. I looked at him and said, what am I going to do with a dead dog? And the technician said that this doctor had been practicing for twenty five years and he had never seen anything so callous in his life. What do you do with a dead dog? Put it in a backpack, you could carry it, or you bury it in the backyard. I mean that takes work. Okay. More

states are cracking down on cell phones. You know that they did that here locally, and then Governor Newsom said, yeah, let's get rid of cell phones and schools. And now Virginia it has an executive order from the Governor Glenn Younkin that will eliminate cell phone use in public schools across the state. They're going to create cell phone free education programs. I think it's you know, cell phone has become a huge problem and it's not that hard to do

to block a building from the use of cell phones. Do it? They do it all the time and at various venues. Okay, oh, we got one more. This is a fun one. This is a fun one. Sure. Florida Satanists are volunteering to fill school counselor rules after Governor Ron DeSantis signed a law allowing religious chaplains into public schools amid staffing shortages. So that'll be nice. So what should I do, Counselor Anton, I don't know. Well, have you prayed to your dark lord Satan? Yeah?

Now this is interesting one because is chaplains of any kind and defining religion? We don't do it in America, for example, in the army they have Wickan chaplains. Uh, there is no choice, so here by law they might have to allow Satanists chaplains. I mean, it's just as wild. Now there's also an issue than need psychologists, because you know, these kids watching babies being sacrificed. That's a tough one. But Batanists don't sacrifice baby

is Satanism is actually a philosophy more than it's a theology. It's not based on No, it's not. It's actually like humanism. Okay, great. In the meantime, what's more theological satan Okay, what's more? What's more entertaining you talking the deep meta metaphysical issues or sacrificing babies. The visual is much stronger on the Baby's guide in red pajamas with a pitchfork. It is kind of funny. That's why I don't think there should be religion in school,

because it's like, well, who gets to say which one? Yeah, you think the separation of church and state is an issue here? Which is going to separation of church and state was to protect the church from the state, not the state from the church. Actually it's gone now both ways now it's to protect everybody to not have religion cram down their throat of any kind. By the way, separation of church and state is going to disappear under this Supreme Court. Just a quick one, Okay, we do have

one more. Let's finish it up now. Might be a really good time to go to Las Vegas. And I can see this is very very apropos that Michelle put this in the rundown today. The Mirage in Las Vegas is closing down on July seventeenth, but they have all this money from progressive jackpots that hasn't been one yet and before they close down, they have to award that money, so crank up the jackpots. Yeah, so it's going to happen now. There is a timeline to play this thing, so it's it's

been sped up, to say the least. Uh. Now we have Michelle who does this play slots constantly. Yeah, semi professionally, and uh yeah, semi professionally. Are you going there to try this stuff out? I just might. Of course you will. They're doing it on the table games too, so I could go play my card games that have jackpots. And I didn't know this. I am assuming that when they have these progressive jackpots, the casino has to put money into some kind of an account to cover

it. They can't just say we're gonna give the money. Yes, it's like a trust account, so they've got to spend it. Yeah. One point six million in unclaimed progressive jacket out or or a one point six million in unwon jackpots, I think is really the way to describe it. They we go, you know, their biggest fears. We take down the mirage that they're gonna people are gonna think it's still there and that's true. Okay, I was gonna go there, but you beat me to it. Dumb

jokes galore baby, Oh yeah, Yeah, that's a typical Handle. On the news segment. This is kf I am six forty Live everywhere on the iHeartRadio app. You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show. Catch my show Monday through Friday six am to nine am, and anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
