There is a lot of weight put on the role of bridesmaid. And often, there can be a lot of drama that mixes into the equation. It’s a big, emotional event, and things rise up to the top.
People tend to hire Jen for two major reasons: they don’t really have close friends, and want someone to come in and act the role of bridesmaid, or they need someone to come in and sort of bring calmness to a messy team of bridesmaids and their drama.
The job of groomsmen and bridesmaids starts months before the wedding. Jen loves getting to the deep, emotional stuff quickly. She is able to bond quickly, and help the bride or groom feel seen and heard. She also runs interference between people so the couple doesn’t have to deal with the stress of that.
Tips for the wedding party:
- The morning is NOT about you.
- Let it go,and move on.
- If you’re not happy, don’t bring it up.
- If something is going wrong, and you notice it, do NOT tell the bride.
- Tell the wedding planner, tell a family member, etc.
- Keep it calm.
- It’s a big day, ease into it.
- Having zero pressure to entertain is so important.
- Just be a GOOD friend, in the best way possible.
- Have some separate spaces for getting ready, if possible.
