I used to be accused of being gullible. I mean, if someone came and told me something and said they were telling me the truth, I did not think they would lie. But God gives us wisdom to see through deception and to recognize deceiving spirits. Bible Reading: 1 John 4-5 Scripture Verse of the Day: 1 John 4:4

We spend a lot of our life looking for “the one”. Sometimes we think it is supposed to look a certain way. But there is no closer intimacy that can be had than by those who are in Christ. Bible Reading: Songs 1-2 Scripture Verse of the Day: Songs 2:16(a)

Finding the meaning or purpose of life has been listed as the unanswerable question by some. But Solomon just leaves it where it needs to be left. All the striving in this life and all the drama distract us from the one thing life is about. The purpose in life is simple. Know God. Fear God. Love God. And Love His people. It is all about Jesus, y’all. This is where we find the most fulfilling life. Making this life all about God rather than ourselves is when we see God’s purposes fulfilled in us....
Have you ever cried out for help and it fell on deaf ears? Or maybe someone was supposed to pick you up and you are left alone and stranded? Oh, that moment of desperation reveals an inner panic, doesn’t it? But those who call and wait on God are never disappointed. Bible Reading: Psalm 135-138 Scripture Verse of the Day: Psalm 138:3

Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 25-26 Scripture Verse of the Day: Deuteronomy 26:18
We went to the Creation Museum recently which I highly recommend, and while there I was struck over all of the prideful errant assertions made from man over the millennia. The dispute over the inerrancy of the word of God reveals the folly of man. God gets the last word. And the first word. And every word in between. Our Holy God reveals His perfect word. Bible Reading: 2 Peter Scripture Verse of the Day: 2 Peter 1:20-21
Sometimes to avoid accountability, we can pretend we are ignorant. My kids tried this one on me when they were little. And sometimes they fooled me for a little while. Bible Reading: Acts 17-18 Scripture Verse of the Day: Acts 17:30

Sometimes we can try to fit in with others to be accepted. But trying to be like everyone else does not lead to being united or truly being accepted. And uniformity is not unity. True acceptance requires being accepted just as you are. Bible Reading: Psalm 132-134 Scripture Verse of the Day: Psalm 133:1

Persecution is great in the world of those who believe in Jesus and who bear the name Christian. In the culture I live in, there is freedom to worship which is an incredible freedom. Yet there is intolerance for those who profess the name of Christ. Don’t let suffering deter your faith. It did not deter Christ from dying for you. Bible Reading: 1 Peter 4-5 Scripture Verse of the Day: 1 Peter 4:16
Sometimes we can be discouraged when we see Christians who fall or ungodly. But our hope should never have been in perfect people—just a perfect Savior. There are no super Christians.
