The menopause and any mention of HRT scare most women & it is recognised that there is a lack of education around the developments of the female body. Most women reach menopause between the ages of 45 and 55, with the average age being around 51. However, about 5% of women experience menopause before the age of 40 years; This is known as premature menopause. The mental health impact of this is rife, yet there is a lack of support for women going through a "change"

Carly started the Hormone Party as a way of documenting her journey with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) + increasing the awareness around the joys that come with being female; the emotional rollercoaster that are our hormones! Carly's aim is to help women understand their own bodies and provide an honest account so that those suffering feel less alone. POI can impact fertility  and unlike Carly who's journey began after child birth, there is an increase need for support services like  @thedaisynetwork who focus their work purely on younger women going through exactly this.
