12 | Nick Spooner - Writer/Director (The Call of Charlie)

Hello and welcome to Episode 12 of The Bazaar! Joining me today I have Nick Spooner, a man with a far stretching background in adverterising, with commercials and content produced for a wide array of clients. His work has aired nationally (USA) and internationally. If you live in the US you have more than likely seen his work. Recently Nick has dipped his toes into the world of short film and has produced a fantastic piece The Call of Charlie (2016), a horror-comedy inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s “The Call of Cthulhu” and began life as a boozy wisecrack that the team (the writers and Nick) do a short about Cthulhu getting fixed up on a blind date. It is great fun and well worth checking out. We talk a bit about that, influences and where the genre is going, how to approach film festivals and includes a small cameo from his daughter.
