Travis has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics, Houston Astros, and Texas Rangers.

Blackley has also played in the KBO League for the Kia Tigers, in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, and in the Mexican Baseball League (LMB) for the Pericos de Puebla.

Also in Liga Mexicana del Pacifico on Aguilas de Mexicali and Naranjeros de Hermosillo.

Blackley was selected for the Australian national baseball team at the 2007 Baseball World Cup, 2009 World Baseball Classic, 2017 World Baseball Classic, and 2018 exhibition games against Japan.
