Hold some special you know all this ship. Welcome, come, come to the Alert Show, the one only I can save you and some people more except your your solo. This is the Fall Alert Show. Oh, Man, we gotta I got a friend of the show checking in. Man, damn man, I'm sooner proud of this guy the following his career for I'd say, what's two thousand twenty one? Man? By four years? Now I've been career. I want to say, when I first was on, you had like three hundred
thousand followers. Now you've had six million. Yeah, Man, Jessie, thanks, how's it going, sir? Great man? I think y'all for having minutes? No man, welcome to the Butther Alert Show. Man, I appreciate it, All Alert, all Alert? What did you do? Man? I appreciate you, and it's it's a major blessing man to be acting susposure. Okay, okay, real, real quick question. How different are those influencer checks when you got three hundred thousand followers and then when you got a few
millions hours? Oh it's a big difference. Most definitely. We're talking from uh fittee how to knowledge checked? Uh? You know what type of check I can't explode on that type of check. But I don't know what you just know it's it's I gonna say it's big. I'm gonna say it's a blessing, that's all. It's totally a different You're able to not take as many opportunities if that makes it because you know, you know, every opportunity for you know what I'm saying. So I'm thinking at that
that leverage. Now you know what I'm saying, you can say, you know, that's the biggest blessing right there? Can you take us back to like that first Viba moment, like what may even made you know, start picking up your camera and you know, tuning into the social media world. Well, I started back in two thousand twelve. Man, I started on Vine. You know what I'm saying. I had a friend Namer shop Funnel, who introduced me to this, to this, uh, to that social media app. You know what I'm saying.
You know, I was the kid growing up, you know what I'm saying, the funny guy and I you know, but I played sports at first, you know what I'm saying. So I was that guy. You know your people always tell me, man, Man, if you don't make it to the NFL, you don't make it to you know what I'm saying, playing college bag, I think you should do comedy, you know. So I didn't never take it seriously because I really thought I was gonna make it to the NFL.
You know what I'm saying. Um, long story short, you know, came here came you know. I graduated from kylogn with Georgia University, got a sociology degree. Um. The same friend that told me to to start uh doing the two thousand twelve you know what I'm saying. He heard that football didn't work out for me. He was like, man, I think you should go ahead and start taking your acting in your comedy seriously. And so that's when I got into you know, I started doing it in two
thousand and fifteen and not jumped on Instagram. That's where Instagram started to do the fifteen second videos, you know, because fifty you know, Instagram wasn't always the one minute it a GTV videos, it was just the fifteen second video. So I stayed down doing that. I end up getting into this acting class with Dwayne Boy. I started taking acting classes, and you know, I got into that seriously.
And what really changed my life. That really, Like, you know, I booked a movie called Love by Chance, which took me to Africa for like eleven twelve days. And I was over there and at the time, I was working at Smoothie King And I was saying to myself when I was in Africa, and I was like, man, there's no way that I'm about to go back to, you know,
making smoothies when guy got me over here. You know what I'm saying, Um, being a part of a major, you know, international film, you know, with with major people like Terry J. Vaughn, you know, Clifton Power, unto a Connie, you know, great people like that, you know what I'm saying. So that would kind of like woke me up to let me know, you know, I was doing something that you know I was. I feel like I was born
to do. You know. I was grew up inspired by people like Eddie Murphy, you know, Martin Lawrence, you know those type of people. So a lot of things that you see as far as like character words, as far as like my commun and stuff like that, you kind of see some of those references, you know what I'm saying.
You know, Eddie Murphy inspired me a none of the the professor to this day is my favorite movie, you know what I'm saying, Like, that's why you know I became you know, I got my mom character, I got my great dad character. I'm a little Johnny character, you know, a little art in character. You know it. It's multiple characters that I that I want to do. You know what, since I'm not I'm you know, I'm not one of those Instagram social media comments leaving out You're leaving out
one character who probably character? What's you as a right? Oh? You love that round character? Right? I'll tell you, bro, you you're one hit. You're a hit record away and I'll just be playing out. Like I said, I'm a fan of music, man, so you know, I hear how the music goes, you know now and days, man, and I just tap in, you know, and and I like I like good production. I love good beats. Man. It's like, once I head beat, I can just get a you know, I can get a good bible off. I could come
up with something, you know what I'm saying. And all I need with me is did it? It's just if I can come up with a good uh good chord. Yeah, that's all I need the birth. Don't even not at this point the birth. I don't even care what I even fail on the birth. That good. That Now that's where in Africa were you And what is the most African thing that you saw while you was over there? I was in Johannes birth, South Africa. Yeah I was, Yeah,
I was in Johanna's birth, South Africa. And the most African thing that I saw, Um, I don't even want to say it's like African man. I just I just I just look at Africation. It was the biggest inspiration, you know what I'm saying to me. You know what I'm saying. It was one of the humblest experience that that I got. It was so peaceful, it was it was it was a lot of love, like the love used the different type of love like from the people,
you know what I'm saying. I was able to go to what then um Neson Mandela was from likes it's called Orlando over there. Um Like, I was able to go to his house and I was able to see like some of the you know the kids that that that dance and you know what I'm saying, this stuff that they're there, dude, you know, once they see like you know Americans and you know what I'm saying, they want to it's like for them, they want to show us their talents so it can be look out for them,
you know what I'm saying. You know, it's those moments. It just allowed me to be like thankful, you know what I'm saying, you know for the stuff that I got. You know, so like I said, that was like man, and you know the food was what was kind of different. Their drinks was different, like they had the McDonald's over there, but it tastes different. Like it's so crazy that it
tastes different like orange. Yeah yeah, the orange tape different you know from now okay okay, nice okay, Yeah, no, it was it was it was right soon, same thing for me. And that's when, um, that's so crazy. That's when I first started like drinking wine like I got like I think that's all I drunk when I was over there, Like why have the best wine in South Africa? Yeah, yeah,
it was. It was. It was crazy. Man, But yeah, like you know, you know when it comes to the comedy, man, I felt like I found my purpose in it, man, like you know, and I know I wanted to play sports, you know, but I felt like I didn't know what I was. I was like growing up, but like my friends knew, you know what I'm saying, And I didn't really think that out. And but it's like now I touched way more people and I would have touched playing ball, you know what I'm saying. So I feel like that's
the biggest thing. Man. Just know what I was. I was a funny guy on the team, you know what I'm saying. So I really had to like when I really started taking this ses, I really had to tap into what the people were saying I was when I was a child, you know what I'm saying. I really had to tap into my childhood self to know, like dangs, I really was already this guy, you know what I'm saying. But it's like God was really just preparing me, you
know what I'm to me in high school. Yeah, he didn't give me to me in college, and he gave it to me. You know, he started me the time that he wanted to start, you know what I'm saying. So I appreciate these patients of everything, and I'm you know, I've just been appreciating this journey and you know, now I got my own production company, you know, the this makes production I've been able to shoot um wait wait wait wait, we gotta get back into that. We're gonna
get into that. Yeah we serious town now, yeah, yeah, we got we got is one good time, you know for the Baller Alert Show. We gotta pay some bills with quick. But we'll be right back after this. We'll be right back with more of the Bailler Alert Show. You're listening to a special edition of The Baller Alert Show. Tell you Mary, Serai Simmons and Sue so long. This is special cloth Alert all right, welcome back to the
ball Or show Boy. I felt like this is I feel I feel like this is a documentary of them here real quick, coming back from Africa. You know you was doing the viral videos and doing all the content creating. When did you get the get up that courage to actually take it to the actual comedy stage, Because I see you do a lot of stand up and I know that's a lot of a lot different than just creating content. You know, virtually, when did you actually build
that confidence up to take it to the comedy stage. Well, like I said, I'm not gonna lie a minute. It took me some time because you know, at first, I was like, man, I'm just focused on acting. Man, I'm not doing those stand up you know, and I'm built the families. I'm good. But I had to you know, like taking this seriously. Man, you gotta really become a student.
And if I call people like Eddie Murphy my favorite comedian, Martin Lawrence my favorite comedian, you know, all those grades, so I have to really tap in and see, Okay, what did they do to become this this great legend. You know, all those main um actors and comedians, they
touched this age, you know what I'm saying. That's what made them that that commercial actor, that commercial comedian, that worldwide comedian that you know what I'm saying, that touched people that probably don't even have a social media app, you know what I'm saying, but they hear that, Okay, this comedian is coming to my city. Let me go see who he is. So now you've building up a fan base of people that don't even know you across
the world. You know what I'm saying. There's a lot of people over seas and different countries that don't know who you is. But when you come to their country, it's like, oh wow, this guy is funny. So you know, it just takes you to a whole another level. And I feel like to get to me personally, I feel like to get those major Hollywood roles, you know, those major Hollywood TV shows, you have to be respect if you want to be respected as a real comedian and
and get those opportunities. I feel like you have to touch that stage. I have a question. You said, when you go overstaff, people don't know who you are, but we don't know who the hell Polay? When out who po is? Are We ever gonna find out who Polis is? Or is really the for the franchise boys? Is that really? I know that for the French aise board, But no,
that's that's not him. That's not him. Yeah, and everybody asked it too, they gotta be him, But now that that's gotta be Oh no, my Polate different, man, I mean apartment he camera shot, you know, um, but maybe one day, Jessie, Man, I'm not gonna lie to you, like I think some of my favorite skuts that you do are definitely like an apartment. When you're round, you know your cul your dudes, because for me, they are
the realist. Like literally, I can envision somebody I know being every damn body in the video, Like the body language, the demeanor, like all of it is now vary. I've been saying that supporting boy that is so funny to me. So I'm assuming that some of these skits are like, you know, inspired by real life, you know, hanging out
with your boys and stuff. So now that you're Dessi Banks, like Jessie Dessi Banks Banks, and you're getting some money and you got these all new relationships, how is life different from when you're hanging out at the Potmanster, when you're hanging out with Hollywood people. Now it's I feel like now it's it's it's more of a structured thing. Now, actually know what you want, you know what I'm saying.
And when you have these millions of millions of people following, when you gotta have some kind of plan, you know what I'm saying. So that's why I said, I'm thankful that I know what I want, you know what I'm saying. Where I'm at right now, I know I want to be a actor. I know I want to be a big stand up comedian. I know I want to be a part of you know, different major things. You know what I'm saying that that Hollywood you know give me.
So it's it's a lot of different steps I had to take, like getting the agent, uh you know, at the right team around me to help me get these major opportunities. You know. It's just you know, it's things like that. Um, look at these rich folks would be like, damn, y'all born. Yeah, yeah, you're gonna get bored, but it's
gonna be a good board. No, you know, they may be born to them, but it's it's actually really safer to you if that makes you know, right, well, speaking of safety, Um, you know, going back, you know, you did your comedy used on the ground real heavy, and now you're a new father. How has that been um for you up to this point because I know it's like I know, it's probably a little bit more serious now, especially you know, being a new father and all that.
Can you explain this new life? Oh, it's it's it's it's a major blessing. And now I have a major why why I do everything? Now? You know what I'm saying, that's it's for my family now, you know, it's it's for my son. You know. Every time I make ap video or makeup or be on the stage or a book a movie, is is it always the oldest in my family, you know what I'm saying. So, I mean, that's it. Hey, that's what That's what it's about. You know.
I want to become the new generation of my family. Man, Nobody in my family have ever been on this type of you know what I'm saying level when they come to you know, this type of fame or you know, whatever the people call it. You know what I'm saying. But I want to just show them that, hey, man, we can do it. We could do it too, because you know, they're come from the generation it's go to work,
you know, and and and that's it. You know, they don't really believe this stuff until it actually happens and they actually see it, you know what I'm saying. So like it took my mom like time man, to like say, like people always saying, you're trying to send your funny my damn sounding, no damn funny, you know what I'm saying. But when she actually when she actually came to a show, the first show show, I think she came to. You know, she came to my line of show, it was cool.
But when she came to like my out of town show. I was in Birmingham, Alabama, and she saw those people in the crowd, and that's when it like it was like, oh damn, my baby is doing something. You know when I'm when I come from You know what I'm saying that that's a major blessing, you know what I'm saying. So a lot of people don't do stuff. You know
what I'm saying. Blackness is what I'm doing. So that's another reason why I gotta kind of like serious, you know what, I gotta take it serious, and I gotta really stay focused on it, you know what I'm saying, Because it's like you want to get one shot, you know what I'm saying. That's a fact, you know what I'm saying. You the be Sammes, the DC Young Flies, y'all.
Y'all remind me kind of like back in the nineties where you know, the grind of being a comedian was so heavy, and then they became like our superstars, like our Jamie Foxes, you know what I'm saying, And um that that's what you know, where we are right now in our generation. That's what you guys remind me of.
And I just want to commend you guys for just sticking with it, just changing the game, because this is a whole, this whole different playing field, you know, where you can come up off of social media and you already have the people. You don't have to go out and uh, you know, try to get the people just by doing one movie or two when you got them locked in and your personal accounts on your social media.
So man, I just want to just give it up to you and just say, you know, I appreciate the grind and and taking it to the next level for our generation because y'all will be like the next Jamie Foxes, that Eddie Murphy's like you're saying, you know, of our time. So yeah, now I'm not an old heads tend to kind of I don't want to say ship on you know, the young ends, but they look at you know, how we're able to get money and like manipulate and utilize
social media. Do you ever feel like some of the old heads like don't necessarily respect your path because they feel like you don't have to grind as hard as them or grind in the same way. Uh most definitely, I felt the tension would have been around, you know, come overheard, come and say and stout they feel, you know, social media comedians are you know what I'm saying. But at the end of the day, hey man, things change. And also, hey, they always said, okay, when they do
social media, they ain't doing stand up. Okay, so when we start doing the stand up, it's like, okay, what else did y'all have to say? You know what I'm saying. I look at it like, Okay, y'all being o G comedians, y'all been doing the stand up way for a long time. How about y'all teach us that game and we teach you all the social media game and we can you know, just just do it like that, you know what I'm saying, you know, But hey man, it is what it is,
you know. And I'm a rock with who are rock with? You know what I'm saying. And I'm a spiritual person. I'm an energy person. If your energy and good, I don't care who you is. I don't want to be around it, you know what. So definitely over there making two hundre thousand of posts playing with him, he didn't say that you said that. Yeah, I didn't. I didn't say that, say that. He didn't say that, but that's what I said. A ball the nation. We gotta take a quick break to pay these bills. But we will
be right back with We'll be right back. Stay tuned with more of the baller Alert show message A Yeah, ball Alert Ball Alert ball and Mr Dessei Banks in the building. How's it going, sir man? Pretty good man, pretty good? All right man, you are participating in the ball of mill today. I'm just letting you know. I hope, I hope this doesn't affect anything, but I'm going ahead and read it and we're gonna get everybody's gonna chime in, Okay, a rory, I funked up bad. My lady went through
my phone and somehow hacked my phone. She's able to see all my texas coming to my phone. She's able to access my photos and everything. Bro w t F what the fun? I changed my eye Cloud password and all I'm toast finished? But what do I do to prevent her from access? And my ship stressed? Well, let's sen here player. Uh, I don't know what to tell you about this one right here? Maybe you shouldn't have been doing some crazy ship in the first damn place. Okay,
that's the first thing. The second thing is, uh, if you're gonna do what you do, I guess the player of the player, don't get caught the fella you get not caught. She went through your ship and it's all on her iPad. She probably got it all on her iPad, on her laptop. I'm at all she needed was your password. Dog.
So my personal advice to use you probably need to change your entire eye cloud or just throw the phone in the river somewhere, just get rid of get a new service, do you I could make Yeah, just make your eye cloud. I'm just letting you all through it right now. She probably seen that you wrote this to me now and she knows the whole thing. That's it. What do you think, Yeah, it's over. You can hang it up. But she hasn't seen everything. She didn't thought
about it in the past. Over the months and weeks, it came to life, all that stuff that you know she spoke. They say this tongue is powering wrong in the old relationship or old problems, and saw this. You're the same person that you say it wasn't. I can't believe you. I hate you. You did kill like you said, jump in the river, don't come out of the river is over. Yeah, she saw. He didn't say that she saw anything crazy. He's just saying that she has access
to it. Hacked his phone. You know that that that but that that was Jassie bakes answer with any of his other characters saved otherwise, Oh mama, you ask that. No, damn by thee in the third game, lady, y'all need to squid go on the man stuff now, dang trust him. I don't know why y'all do that quick? The insecure Jesus Christ sick of that what she wanted? Yeah, she finally Yeah, you said yeah, don't look at Yeah. See that's your fault. Yeah, she got got he got break
a word. Yeah, we're trying together. See I met at the gym. She's my trump. She told, appreciate you for stopping. That's the way. Hey, before we go, what was that you said? You got your own production company to say real quick before we get a black company of days based production. Man, I just dropped the short film that was that came out like two weeks. Agof a Balance Saturday, which was great. I got a web series on um YouTube also called How That Goes Down in the Hood,
and then got a media best views on each episode. Um, I was about to drop these two dope sketches. Man, it's about to be amazing. UM. I get a little hit hint New Jack City and you're friending on New Jack City. You know. Um only two people did it, um, you know and Mark Lawrence. So I'm gonna be the third to do that scene. That's how don't That's fine man, and you know, And that's the level I'm trying to get to. I want to show the people that I could. Yeah,
I can. I can really do for these major acts as a committee is done. You know, I'm still learning. I'm still growing in a humble way, but it's in me. You know what I'm saying. It's that guy.
