Episode description

Andrew Yang was a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate and a 2021 candidate for mayor of New York City. Named by President Obama as a Presidential Ambassador of Global Entrepreneurship, he is the founder of Humanity Forward. Venture for America, and the Forward Party. Yang’s New York Times bestselling book The War on Normal People helped introduce the idea of universal basic income into the political mainstream.

Join us for a spirited, no-holds-barred chat about Andrew's childhood, family life, his pre-politics legal and business career, his often erroneous public perception, his lightening-rod status, his run for the White House and NYC mayoral campaign, Trump and Trumpism, the current two-party primary system and the ongoing debate over whether his new Forward Party is helping or hurting America's fragile democracy.
