Conservatives and liberals will often use similar language about values like freedom and community, but they mean radically different things. Every week it seems like a progressive politician is declaring that some foreign group, like soldiers in Ukraine or illegal immigrants, is actually more in line with American values than the people who actually make up America. We'll be diving into the ideas of proximity and particularity and why they are so critical to understanding the divide in values between the political Right and Left.
