All right, welcome back to the Audible. The Audible today is presented by Verizon, the network more people rely on, gives you more like NFL tickets and experiences from Verizon up So stay with our guys at Verizon, Kimbo Cambra, John Knjemmy and John. You know, you look around in the beginning of this season off season, you know, the the the the pundits out there, the national people gave this team no chance. And here they are, back to back wins. Gets a very good Indianapolis team up there.
Now I know the nebset, but Brian Hoyers guy has played plenty of football and and didn't They've still got a lot of good players in that football team. And and somehow, some way, this team figured out a way to win a dog fight, a defensive dog fight, because no one was moving the ball very consistent, consistently at
some big place here and there. But for the most part, this was was gonna be which defense was gonna give up the big plays and in the big difference, And in this case it was the Uh it was a Colts. And so here are the Dolphins writing. You know, I don't know if two games and it's a big win. Two games is a streak. I'm gonna take it. I'm gonna take it as as a streak after the way the season started. I'll take any type of win streaks possible. And the Miami Dolphins are on a two game win
streak according to US. I love it. You know, sixteen twelve. Uh, the Dolphins find a way to win on the road against a very good football team, and the oldest guy in the field is the only guy who scored a touchdow.
You know, he scammers in from eleven yards. And I can't say enough about the way Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing the position of quarterback, especially without his leading weapon on the outside, Preston Williams, a guy that you know, emerged from you know, the rookie scrap heap in terms of free agency and became so reliable and is going to be a very good pro for the Miami Dolphins on the outside. But you know, the offensive line is starting to gel a little bit. Even you get uh, Daniel
Kilgore back in the center. He moved Bam out to the guard spot. But it was the story of the day was the defense. The defense made enough plays they won the turnover battle. They were able to get three interceptions. Two guys get their first career interceptions and want to play by Stephen Parker in the end zone, ripping the ball away from an experience tight end. That's a strong guy. You know. It teaches you to fight until you can't
fight anymore. And I think that that's the biggest thing bo that that's coaching staff and head coach Brian Flores
is instilled in this football team. It's about how to work the right way, how to fight and scratch and claw because you're gonna be in some situations like they were Sunday up up in Indianapolis, where they weren't the better team that they played like it and and once they started making plays, they got more confidence and they they said, you know what, this is a game we can win because they're not at their best and we
might find a way. You know, John, I was singing about this on the way back, and I was sinking about it. Uh a lot of a lot of times, you know, over the week, getting ready for this uh uh for this this upcoming game. But you know, and you touched on a little bit. You know, I don't
think there's any team in this league. They were trade rosters with the Miami Dolphins right now, right, I don't think there's any general manager or head coach or anything would say, yeah, we'll take yours, take ours, and we'll go and and so this is a this is a this is a makeshift football team. They basically gave away, um, the vast majority of their talent going in and and that first game with the Ravens look like, oh boy,
this is gonna be a tough season. And then you know, you kind of bounce along and all of a sudden, you know, over the last five weeks, now you know you've had a competitive football team out there and still the same players. You know, the cast of characters are changed. Some guys have gotten hurt, and they've change guys around, but they're still the same level of of of of team that that they've seen. Yet they've been competitive for
the last month. They've won two straight games, and John, you know what that tells me with them, That tells me that Brian Floores in this coaching staff are the right guys to be here, not only for this year, but whatever happens when wise, for the rest of the season. Going into draft with all the draft choices, you've got all the free agency money, you have, all that salary
cap number. The one thing I keep thinking about is, man, if Brian Flores can take this football team and get them to be the least penalized team in the league, get them not to make a lot of mistakes. They're starting to pick up turnovers now. And they've been competitive for what what are we? What are we? Eight games in? Nine games in nine games in and you gotta say they've been competitive for for at least five of those nine games, more than of the of the games that
they've played. They've had an opportunity to win those games, and it it didn't feel like it at some points, but it's sure. I mean, you're up fourteen and nothing against Pittsburgh Steelers. You're supposed to put those guys away. And I think a team that is starting to learn how to play together and learning how to finish on third down, learning how to get off the field, maybe
maybe they do finish him. Maybe if it was week eleven, twelve, or thirteen, But at the time they didn't know how and they couldn't make enough plays to finish off a team that's quite frankly getting better, but at that time they were mediocre at best. So I think they went on the road played a really solid football game. But I have the credit. You know, you look at guys that are making strides. Vince Bagels one of those guys making strides. Nick need Him one of those guys making strides.
Bobby McCain uh is a guy at free safety, just starting to learn his position a little bit more, who has experienced everywhere, but it's a new position. Ros got new position. You know, he's playing that position close to the line of scrimmage that really nobody wanted. And that's probably the main reason why Make is not here, you know. So there's there's guys starting to learn how to play
different positions and how to fit together. And I think Wilkins on the inside is getting better and mean he's getting more active. You're starting to see his number and name flash a little bit more. Shoot, even Charles Harris made a big play behind the line of screaming. So there's a lot of guys that are starting to come up and start to play together. And I think that's contagious. That gets contagious on the football, and to me, it also says a lot about about the staff and what
they've done and how they've gotten these guys. Look, this team could easily gone south and just said the hell with it. You know, no, no one, no one's given us any respect, and you know, let's play, let's pay, let's play to that level because it doesn't matter anyway. But they've made this football team viable football team and a team that you've got to be prepared for because they're gonna be prepared, They're gonna play hard all the
way through. And you look at uh Chatto'shay and Patrick Graham the different things that they've done offensively and defensively with a number of players coming and going, and you know that that for for for Patrick Graham and this defense to be able to put together a pass rush over the last handful of weeks, to me is one of the big, you know, one of the great coaching jobs I've seen, because you got, no, this isn't a traditional pass rushing football team, so you gotta get it
from either. It's built from the backside in trying to get to the UA. That's why we saw a Baker flash right up the middle. Because Wilkins is doing his job and turning the center, and there's nobody there left for for Baker to be blocked by or even you know, impeded by you on his path through the quarterback. And you you start talking about players on the defense who's playing better than jen Jerome Baker. I mean, this guy is all over the football field, and uh, it's fun
to watch. It's it's fun to watch these guys play because the effort level, you know what you're gonna get out of the team. You know you're gonna get effort. And now they're starting to create turnovers. Um, they're starting to create plays when they need to on third down offensively to stay on the field. I mean it wasn't a blaze of conversions, but at least they were able to make plays when they needed to down to stretch
to stay on the field. And then the defense, I mean they get the four plays and out with the coltson prime scoring position. So he really they had four turnovers if you count the one on downs because they were able to get off the field and win the game. That three three takeaways four last week, I think four to one last week, three to two this week. And and you go back to the you go back to the previous game against Buffalo. You you have a lead at halftime, UM, and then in the second half your
turn the ball over twice. And and that's that's the difference in that that football game, and and and back then you're thinking, well, geez, where where is this team gonna get where where they gonna create turnovers? Because they really haven't been really haven't been very close to him. No, they weren't close to getting tackles for lost. They weren't close to putting pressure on the quarterback, which in turn
led to zero. Really turnovers. I think they had one interception coming into that game, and and all of a sudden the last couple of weeks they found a few. And they were giving up the perimeter. Guys were able to run out a bounce outside and get big yards and and do that. They've shored that up. So this
team is moving in the right direction. And uh, and and and and it probably I I would say, you look around the National Football League, there's no team, no team playing over their head, uh as much as this football team. Yeah, you look at the roster. You mentioned it earlier. I think I think when you have a veteran presence at quarterback and a guy that's making plays in and can anticipate when to leave the pocket because he knows where the weaknesses are in the past protection
or where it could leak quickest. I think that's the one thing that I've seen Ryan Fitzpatrick do. He'll get to his drop, but he knows on certain plays there's not gonna be a whole lot of time to sit there and scan and proves the defense. So he's moving actually before he's getting to the top of his drop to be able to slide where the creases are, where the openings are, and throw the football on the run.
It gives him It's almost like he's adding to the time of past protection by him moving early, by him not setting it at a spot and then waiting to move. He's actually gliding and moving around and and and kind of shifting to areas where there's open field. If he has to run here, he will run, but he's given himself some time to keep past plays alive downfield. You have no doubt about it. And uh, it's just good. The one the one thing you'd like to see, I'd
like to find this. I'd like to see this game, this team develop the running game a little bit more, you know, uh um, you know, you know, even when Kenyan Drake was here, it really wasn't an over impressive you know, Mark Walton, he's gone for the three another three games here and and he was giving you some some but even but even when he was there, it's not that, you know, not that running game that you're
looking for. You know, So you like, you call a hundred twenty five yards rushing in the game or something like that, and this team has struggled to do. I think that's seventy yards rushing against the Colts, and you'd like to you like to bolster that because I think if you can bolster that, it does a couple of things.
First of all, it helps you moves to change and and then it allows play action to come into play a little more and kind of slows that pass rush down a little because I think there a lot times now that people are just they're just pinning their ears back and and they are going after and and trying to put as much pressure as they can, uh on on Ryan and and forcing him, like you said, to find that creased by a little time and and put
the ball down the field. Yeah, and that could eventually lead as you know, some balls being tipped and batted. We saw that a couple of time. We've seen We've seen a number them over the last couple of couple of weeks. These guys they're knowing if I'm out there getting my hands up and and and see if you can.
And they've gotten their hands on a number of balls really over the last two But going back to your main point about the running game, I don't know if we're gonna see a uh a week where the Dolphins are going to run for a hundred and twenty five yards or a hundred and thirty five yards on the horizon, but they'll take a hundred, you know, they'll take nineties something because that's a couple more first downs than they're getting right now. And maybe there's one or two explosive
plays that cuts down the field. You know, you get a plus twenty run that that's a couple of first downs you don't have to grind out on third down. So I think those are the types of plays that the Dolphins are looking for. And I think when Walton gets back, he's the type of runner that can add because he's getting through those small creases a little bit quicker than than Calin blag is right now. But I want to see Calin. I want to see him in the next over the next couple of weeks, see if
he can, you know, build upon what he did. You know, the forty three yards they were it was tough sledding. He just averaged over two yards per carry against the Indiannapolis Colts. I'd like to see what he does against a really good defense in terms of or just as equally as good in Buffalo. But I think I think Buffalo strength there is more in the back end than than in the front end. But they're they're a good defense.
So I'd like to see how he does in consecutive weeks when he knows he's gonna be the guy that's gonna get those types of carries. John, Here, here's the conversation that you can't have. Uh, you can have it, but you're not gonna get much out of it with with the staff and and coach Flores and then whoever you talk to is this You know, you everyone knows where this team is, everybody knows what they've what their plan is for the future. And you know, I'm as
happy as anybody see these guys win football games. I it's you know, for what they do for watching these guys work and see them come up empty HAMD And but now you're now you now your other eyeballs kind of going looking at the draft, especially especially after you watch that game on on on Saturday night Alabama in l s U. When you're watching TA and you're watching Burrow and man, one of those good like the side, some of those guys might look pretty nice in that
awkwind orange. But now with two wins, now you're fortunately this win was against somebody that's not directly in competition with you for draft choices, right, but it's still you still got Cincinnati. You've got a really bad Cincinnati, terrible, but they picked up another one. They got to win every every Jets are bad. It was every one in seven team or one one picked up one this week. Giants are everyone's back up to. Yeah, and we still have two games again, we have we have the Giants,
the Jets, we have Cincinnati. You know those are not those are teams that were kind of fighting to the ball them. Yeah. Yeah, And so you know you're that that you know, I know that's not the conversation to have inside the building. But with everybody else that's watching this team from the outside of our friend as they see, they go, what do you guys doing? Six weeks ago, they were going, you guys are terrible. You know you're you're you come there. These guys win four games and
they're gonna people people the airport. You I see friends that when I go. I went out to dinners, like, are you guys serious? What you do? You guys don't know how to lose anymore. Wait a minute. Six weeks ago you said we're bad, you know how to win? These guys win a few. And someone said something to me the other day and I said, I said, yeah, we're so bad we can't figure out how to lose. It's no, you can't win. You can't. This really is a no win, no no win sees. But I'd rather
have I'd rather you'd rather have the winning game. I'd rather have these guys get a pay day for for for all the work and effort they're get into. But but you know, but I'm like everyone else, I'm kind of looking out that other eyeball going well. The bad thing. The bad thing is when you do talk about those teams the giants have a young quarterback. So the Jets have a young quarterback. It's yeah, but but the Jets.
If the Jets, if the Jets play as poorly as they've played prior to well playing against the Giants, um, you know, they may they may pull a Cardinal. They may pull in Arizona. They may say the heck with this guy Donald, take Sam Donal, Let's grab someone else. You know, I'll take Sam Donald. Well, we're not gonna be there, what are we gonna be the the drop off. I'll put the start and let him compete. Absolutely, we got there's there's a couple of years to play with
the physician of quarterback with what's out there. And it also draft a Jordan's love from from Utah State. Let's take him because he's got size, he's got speed, does everything you know you need to do again following the New England pattern, taking one, they're sitting there, when they're sitting there with Radio Brissette and and Garoppolo, and then they get get rid of those two guys, pick up pick up equity and and and then move on from Cincinnati's the team you have to worry about and getting
a quarterback because those that that's a team there that's you know, looking they've done. They're gonna take a quarterback and they're gonna be, if not the worst team, they're gonna you know that. I'm talking to somebody this week. I said, you know what happened if you get to that that Cincinnati game, and and whoever whoever wins that game is not gonna get the first pick, and whoever
he is, it's gonna get the first pick. I wonder what that strategy would would would turn out Unless that game accounts for two wins, I think we're I don't think. I don't think we can catch the Cincinnati Bengals. They they well you know, but who knows. They may they may stumble over a couple of wins along the way. Depends on I gotta feeling, you know, if if it's if it all comes down and it's whoever whoever loses that game is gonna get the top pick. I gotta
feel and they may be suiting you up, John. They may throw you in there, man guarantee put in there and make it out of the first quarter. Come on, he can still throw the ball. They promised not to hit me, But yeah, that's it's it's you know, it's uh, this has been a strange here for a lot of reasons. But that that now, with these two wins, you know, you're starting looking going, wow, this is you know, it's it's gonna be interesting, interesting, interesting in terms of who's
gonna do what with the picks that they have. Remember, the Dolphins have three a lot of equity, three first round draft choices, and those back to now with the Steelers getting a little bit better and and Houston you know, competing, you know, at the top of their division. Uh, they're gonna be in the twenties and you might be able to package them if you really needed to do something.
But I'd rather leave him alone and take numbers and take and take bodies because those bodies, you're getting her first round opportunities to to really hit it out of the park. Yeah, no doubt. And and look you got you know, you're you're running across these guys, you know, you know, not too many weeks go, John, we're talking about the secondary start struggling. Now, all of a sudden, you're looking going, hey, you know this guy, you know, Eric Rose is gonna be back here next year, Wilts
is gonna be back Needham is gonna be here. Yeah, pardon these guys. These guys just you know, they just the more reps they get, the better they're playing, the more you look at them as viable players here and you know, you know he's not guys want to come back next year and you know we're shod. We don't know what you know in his future. Holes, it's it's
it's pretty bleak right now. But um, you know, you you got some guys back there that they are they're they're becoming more seasoned, much more seasoned than they were before the season began. I think you have more confidence, and they quite frankly, look like they have more confidence in themselves. The way they're playing. I think they're getting used to the coaching that they're they're taking on a daily basis. I think they're getting more comfortable with the
leverage they're playing with. And I think they're they're getting more accustomed to the speed of the game. I think, quite frankly, when you have guys that aren't drafted and you come in and you think you know what it is until you get in there and then you go, wow, we play on a bigger field. You know, in the NFL because there's a lot more room because guys are eating up the grass and the turf a little bit quicker.
So I think they're just getting accustomed to, you know, their their bodies and what they need to do to play the position of corner or safety or nickel corner at and I think they're just quite frankly, getting used to the scheme and the and the way they have to play to be successful. Yeah. Yeah. One of the guys that's uh has really been flourishing back there this year is is Bobby McCain. We have a chance to sit down with Bobby here in a little bit, and uh,
there's a lot of things I like about Bobby. He's a leader on this football team. He certainly is a good football player. Uh He's he's showing the capability to play multiple positions and and do different things. We thought he was just a safety or or or uh you know,
a nickel inside nickel guy. He played outside, he played corner, he's played in the inside, he's played uh strong safety, free safety, and I think he's really becoming UHM, I think he really likes this this this position he's playing now that center field guy that can just run and make plays and make play and the other thing. He's a he's he's an emotional leader for this football team. Talks a lot, and and and and look, he doesn't back down from anybody. He kind of keeping on him
every game. And at some one point or other, he's standing right over in the sideline in front of that other team. You know, I don't I don't know what he's saying, but I know it's not, Hey, what are you guys doing after the game? I know, I know that's not the conversation he's having with guys over there.
But he's a fiery guy that that really brings that you know, you'd like to have ten Bobby McCain's on your football team with that that personality and the way he goes about the game and and the importance that the game has with him. I think I think his teammates really respect the way he plays and the way he practices and his attention to detail. I think he really works hard at practice and you can tell it
translates to the game. And I think some of the younger guys are starting to pay heed to the way some of the veterans on this team are are preparing and I think they're starting to prepare that way. And it's a credit to Bobby. You know, Bobby likes to talk, but Bobby can back it up as well. And he's got two picks on the season. The one against Indy, he looked like a running back after he got the football.
He take ups to the sidelines and puts the Dolphins in instant field position I think around eleven or twelve yard lines. So, uh, that was awesome to see. So I really like what you're getting out of McCain playing the center field position. Here he comes, so we'll we'll, we'll see what he has to say. All right, we're joined by Bobby McCain now, and Bobby, two wins in a row, you guys, uh, you guys playing some good football. Now, what is it that got you guys to this level?
It was a rough start and took you a while and didn't seem like you're you're getting much tracks and then all of a sudden, the last muth or so five weeks, boy, you guys have just turned it around and been competitive every week and then you come away with two big wins. Yeah, just two wins in a row.
Like you said, Um, just looking looking for three. I think one of the biggest things just believing in each other and believing in the in the system, believing in and what we're doing because you know, at the end of the year, we started off repro rocky, but uh, guys gotta put their foot down and understand like regardless of what age you are, where you from, and what you did or who guys who drafted you or who didn't, UM, you gotta put good You gotta put good stuff on
tape and you have UM at the end of the day, I think the young guys and even though the guys we understand like it has to happen and you gotta regardless win and lose, you gotta put good stuff on tape and UM, you know, and just doing a little things honestly, the little things that are that are like such as UM, like the penalties and like just just minor details that that matter in the game. Is that
was really getting us to what we are. You know, that area where you live in the secondary, well you've been You've been seeing a lot of faces come and go in that backfield during the course of the season. Uh, but every every week you're seeing guys get better willis getting better, Um Rose getting better. Nick Needum comes in makes big place for you up in the Indianapolis, and guys have kind of been thrown into the mix there
and struggled at times. But you can see him week to week getting better better, the more reps they get, the better to get, the more there around the ball, and then they started to make place. Uh like like you said, like Nick Row and Jamal like all not all like Rose not a young guy, but Nick's a young guy, Jamal's young guy. Young guys just coming like a raalu and um, you know, Chris Lamans, guys are
coming and making place. People don't understand that our our our record doesn't correlate with how hard we work throughout the week, because we work extremely hard, um, each and every week to go get one win every Sunday. So like, I don't, I don't, I don't. I don't want people to miss like to have that misconception of you know, all they know we work hard every each and every week, and those guys getting better each and every week. And it's showing. Yeah, it is showing, and and it's showing
that you're getting more accustomed to your new position. I mean, everybody kind of I guess takes it for granted because you're more of a veteran presence back there. Oh he'll be fine a free safety. But it's about angles, It's about your eyes, it's about reading, you know, keys from from a different spot. Take us through your progression and how you're feeling a little bit more calm with your new position. Um, just you know, just just taking a week by week trying to get better easton every day.
Like you said, it's really about angles, it's about communicating, it's about having guys lined up, getting getting guys in the right calls. And uh, I understand you have to take that role of the quarterback and um, you know, like you said, it's just uh making plays on the football that it allows you to do that back there, as long as you get get good breaks and have good angles. And I think practice is so important for you because you know, not only getting young guys lined up,
but working on your craft. You know, you can't simulate that just going out on Sunday and say I'm gonna make a play. You have to be able to work at that, taking right angles and being able to break on the football. And I see you work every day at practice, and and I know how much it means to you, and I think that gets a little contagious. And you know, you're one of the leaders on that side, and tell us a little bit about you know, your leadership role and and how you work, and maybe other
guys gleaming off of that a little bit. I was just I was just having a conversation with some of young guys actually um and telling them, like, you know, it's smart to to get into a routine because of this league. It is about it's about if you can do the same things consistently and be dependable, you'll be
around for a long time. So with um, with that being said, like I try to practice on my angles at practice, I try to make sure I'm like you know, even though even the days you don't want to do his ninety degrees outside in the middle of November, like no one wants to be outside, but at the end of the day, you gotta get it done. And that's what it takes to get better. Bobby. One thing I
know about you, you you're you're an excitable player. Uh. You like to talk a little bit, and and you like to talk to those guys on the other side of the field. I saw you the other day the other in an innapois you kind of I think you were kind of trolling along. You're a little bit looking to get some bait on somebody. What is it about like to mix it up a little bit like that? I was, actually, I mean I was, I know which a couple of players you we're talking about one on
one time. I was looking for a little baits somebody to take the bait. But I saw you walk them downline. Kind of got to jump in on that takes train with a couple of those guys over there, um Walker and there were fifty punches end up are set so um I know those guys pretty expend Quincy, Quincs Wilson as well. Um so, I most I think all those guys, ever one was inactive or hurt and um so, I
was just just giving them a little tough time. And I was telling them like, you know, we're gonna have something talk about in the all season, So do you do you do that just because it's it's like, it's fun playing football out there. It's fun when you're doing well and and and it's fun you know, sticking the needle in somebody's side. But but do you do it more for just to kind of keep you going or to maybe get them off their game a little bit.
I mean definitely, it definitely keeps me going. But it definitely like, you know, you go to a quarterback who's struggling, and he's standing beside the back of the quarterback and you tell him, hey, you're ready to go in. You might it might throw them off a little bit, you know. So, Um, it's definitely just take shots at them and try to mentally trying to stir up their head. Hey Bobby, thanks man, I really appreciate the time and good luck this week.
Try to get three in a row. No, yeah, thank you, thank you for Look before we let you go, just just real quick, you you've played this Buffalo team, uh not not so long ago, tough ball game and then you look like you're you're right in until the end there until the onside kick. Um, what do you learn from that team? What would you learn about them that that you can you guys can can latch onto as
you get ready to face them this week? Um, just knowing where the spots where that we we didn't do so well, because I'm pretty sure, they'll they'll come back to it and just you know, and that's just that's just football. You know, if you show something on film that you didn't do right, the offensive coordinators and offenses are gonna test and just to make sure, like, hey, let's see if they got it fixed. So we know we're prepared for that, but we're also we also know
it's just taking week by week. We try not to try to take the last game out of it where you know we're O and O right now, and just try to one take one week at a time. Bobby, keep you going, man, you can drag another one out. Thank you appreciate it, alright, So this is gonna be another one from Bobby and became hands full here. There's a football team that last week in the Buffalo Bills. This week's opponent, I think they had forty one passes,
forty runs, very balanced to tap um. You know they're they're getting some some good play from the running back. Devin Singletary stepped up and made a you know, he's become a bigger part of their offense. Was Frank Gore. We were talking about going into the first game, but uh, Singletary is guys, can he runs the ball well, cast the ball well out of the backfield. Uh. You know, in past protection he'll step up and and take on
a blitzer. Uh. So he's really become the guy from a running game that uh that they're they're relying on quite a bit. And then Josh Allen, we've seen enough of him to know what his ability can throw the football. Not quite the most accurate guy throwing the football, but what he makes up for it with his his ability to to move the change with his legs and to come up with big plays when when he decides to
run the four. He's a big quarterback. You know, he stands tall in the pocket and the and the worst thing that opposing teams do is is take for granted that I've got him and he's just gonna fall down because he breaks tackles behind the line of scrimmage in the passing game. And not only can he run to run and be an effective guy for ten yard plays with his legs, but he runs with his eyes down field and being able to go ahead and throw the
football down the field. And usually when you get a guy that's on the move and he's breaking contain, he doesn't have to be as accurate as he needs to be in the pocket because uh, guys are covering for a lengthy period of time and usually receivers are tight ends or running backs find a way to break free, and he can be a little bit off and still compete complete big plays down the field. So I think those are the things you worry about when you see
Josh Allen kind of break contain. Number one, you gotta stop him from making big plays outside of the pocket with his legs. But number two, you have to stay in coverage and you walk that fine line. Do I come off of my guy to try to make a play against the quarterback in space because he can still beat you with his arm down field. So I've seen that in a number of times watching Buffalo highlights and especially against US, where we come off of a guy
and it doesn't matter which team we're playing. Hoyer did it, you know on Sunday when you just kind of moved and then the guy you know and and it opens up receivers. I think those are the things you have to worry about with Josh. So the Bills, the Bills one up there in Orchard Park one, but you had that on side kick at the end. That did really and that game came down to you you get that on side kick and you still got a shot in
that football game. They went they were at a fourteen nine lead at halftime, and they were playing pretty well, uh doing some things, came up with two touchdowns and that that first first half of that game, you felt good coming out and then and then it all came down to, you know, the the fake kick, and then Jordan Phillips comes up makes a big play on and and and you come away with nothing on that drive and then you turn the ball over twice and and
then that's it. Then then the game's games put away and you're and you're you're hoping for that that on side kick. But the Dolphins, I think you know that that that to me was kind of the game John where they started turning around and becoming a more competitive football team, uh, more viable football team in that game
with it with a chance to win it. And but it's you know, the Bills are gonna know this team very well and there than the Dogs gonna know them, and and this is gonna get come down to one of those games that that is gonna be like another dog fight. Like Indianapolis, you know who wants to go out there and make the big plays. And and again I think for this team, uh, and we've seen it the last two weeks. If you can win the turnover battle, you've got a big shot it coming away with a win.
You really do. And it's happened the last couple of weeks. As you said, I think the another big, another big key to this football game is coming out in the third quarter and being able to do something. I think you know, against Indianapolis, we didn't have one one first down I think in the third quarter. When you go back to the Bills game, that was the big turning point.
As you mentioned, you get the Jordan Phillips sack tackle for loss, then you get the interception at the two yard line, the Bills go nine yards for a touchdown. And in that third quarter, the Dolphins on offense when interception, punt, fumble punt Uh. You know. So it's one of those things where you have to correct. And I don't know what it is with the third quarter with the Miami Dolphins offensively, but against the Bills, you had them right
where you wanted them and you couldn't put them away. Now, at home, it might be a different story. But I think that that'll be one key to the game for me is looking at how the Dolphins react on in the third quarter. Can they score points number one, but can they just sustain? Can they just stay on the field and be competitive, because they haven't been competitive offensively against the Bills going way back a few weeks and then on Sunday against Indianapolis that's where they almost gave
it away again. Yeah, And I mean, look, they've come a long way from I mean, I don't know how many games it was where they were shut out in the second half three points and then all of a sudden you start, you start putting. But but you're right the third quarter, especially coming out where you can come out and make a statement against that football team, especially
when you got a little lead. How you said if they could have come out and I think I don't think that was a long six, That wasn't a long drive. That there was a yard score and play scoring drive. I know buff Buffalo turned it around because they get the interception of the two and they take it in for a score. So I don't know how many plays, but it was it was to get the Dolphins down there. Yeah, and so you get down there and and you you grind it on him and then and then you come
up for nothing. And then to add insult to injury, they come right back march down the field ninety eight yards put it put in the end zone. Uh. And now it's now you're down seventeen fourteen and uh and scrambling at that point, well, you're you're trying, and now you feel like you were in command of the football game. You think you're gonna go ahead one to nine, and you look up at the scoreboard and the Buffalo Bills
are winning seventeen fourteen. You know, and so you know, you get turned around in that game and you just didn't have enough answers on the road at that point in the season where you felt like we're gonna be able to to find a way to win. You know. It was one of those games where you had it for two two and a half quarters and you lost it within maybe three series of the football I'm exterous to see what the uh crowd response is for this game.
You know, here, here's a team that I think that that you know that there wasn't wasn't a huge crowd that that saw him win two weeks ago, uh, when they won their first game over the Jets. But now they've gone out and done it again, and you and you kind of hope that the fans, um you know, response come out and and and and and give this support this team, you know, I mean, you know, they they've they've heard a lot of bad things said about him. There's been a lot of bad things said about this team.
There's a lot of lack of respect. Uh, there's a lot of people are wondering what's going on with this organization, all these types of things. But if you can't watch this team over the last month or so and and see what they've done with the staff getting these players, who again you go back to it. There's not I don't there's not a team in this this league that would swap rosters with you. But they've been competitive weekend
and week out now winning two football games. And I expecting to be just as competitive against the Buffalo Bills this week with an opportunity to win that football game. But would be nice to have you unctually have a full house in there and have and have the fans backing their football team. Not not not sitting there waiting
to see or what's gonna go wrong? Now, Well, it's always fun to come home after you know, you you win a couple of games in a row the way the season has gone for the first half of it, and you want to be able to have home field advantage. That's why you play games at hard Rock Stadium is to have it full and have it loud and and make it difficult on opposing offenses to communicate and to
operate and be able to execute. So I'm hoping that the Miami Dolphin fans respond and I know the fans that have been there have been good and it's been loud, but you'd love to see more of them, and you'd love to see it UH packed and have it really be an advantage for the Miami Dolphins coming off this two game win streak. Yeah, it would be nice and nice to add to that and get it going. And um, but it's you know, it's talking to listen to Brian
Floores and some of his press conferences this week. You know he's he's um. You know, last week after the win, they give him Monday off victory Monday UH came back and then and then after Wednesday's practice came out today. I don't think they practice well enough. I don't think they're you know, and so he's kind of you know, it's gonna be interesting to see what they do this week, how they come out, how they come back. Didn't give Monday off, They came in and watch films on Monday,
Tuesday off and then back to work on Wednesday. Uh. And and it's gonna be it's gonna be interesting to see how they come out, how they come out and practice, how they come out and uh, and you know, it's it's it's It sounded silly last week and somebody asked me,
you think your team is overconfident? Well, you know, you win this football game and then you go, um, you know, maybe it creeps in their mind a little bit, But I think the guys in this football team are smart enough to know and they've been through they've been through some you know, some tough times that they're they're not gonna let this, uh, they're not gonna let this go to their head. And I feel like all they gotta do is show up on Sunday and get out that
they know they're not that football team. No. I mean, it's it's very easy if you're a man for this football team to to flip on uh highlights of the NFL and look around the league and look at the
records and then look where you're at. If this team ever felt that they were gonna be over confident, you might as well, you know, you might as well check out at that at that point, because there's a long way to go, uh to get where I know head coach Brian Flores wants to be, and I know where Stephen Ross, the owner wants to be, and and a lot of people on this staff want to be in
this organization. So I don't think any but I don't even think that's a I don't even I would hope that that's not even a thought in any player's mind about feeling that way, because there's a lot of work to do, there's a lot of improvement to be had. But the at least they're working at it the right way.
At least, you know, if you suffer a loss the way they have over maybe not the last two weeks, but prior to the two wins, maybe the last two or three games before the to win games, uh two win streak that they're on, you look and you go all the work is they're getting closer. They're getting closer to knocking out of Pittsburgh, they're getting closer to knocking out Buffalo the road. They're getting closer to doing things that this staff wants them to be at at this
point of the year. So I think if they just keep their head down and keep working, I think more successes on the horizon. John. When you watch this offense with Chattosha running it, um, you see some, you see some you see some good stuff coming out. And again it kind of goes back to what I was talking about earlier in the in the program here about it's been it's gonna be fun to look at this team.
However it's configured next year with these guys doing some things that that that you know that I think a lot of people didn't think this team were capable of doing, but they've got them doing it both on offense and defense, Um, but offensively in particular. You've seen some some innovation out of him. You see him do some things, and you've seen him make make play calls that are good play
calls for that given moment. And we've got a lot of coordinators here, John, you look at some of you, You're you're scratching your head more going what the heck are they trying to do? And I think we're seeing a little different a little a little different feel as far as was coming out of the booth. Well, I think he's getting the football to a little bit of everybody.
I mean, we've seen the emergence of Mike is SICKI at a tight end spot, going down the middle of the field, working outside the numbers, being able to be available in the passing game. Uh. We've seen DeVante Parker become more consistent, you know, catch the ball when it's thrown to him, be more available, um, stay away from the nagging injury. So he's done a lot of those
good things that you can build upon, you know. And I think I like the way this offense has has moved the football around and the way they've looked, especially over the last couple of weeks. All Right, So John, it's uh, we've kind of gone over at this team's
playing good football last couple of weeks, two wins. Uh, it would be huge for them to be able to knock off the Buffalo Bills, uh and kind of keep giving them some confidence and and and like Bobby, like Bobby said when we talked to him, this team is working hard. They're working hard each and every day to get better and uh and it's gonna be another another big test for him. But boy would be it would be nice to walk out of that stadium and send
the Bills packing with with a loss. Uh, you know, on side of the list, it would be sweet and selfishly for us, it's been great over the last two weeks to be able to talk about a football team that's improving and not only improving, but getting a couple of wins to make them feel like they're hard work is is being best served. But yeah, I'd love to uh see this football team on Sunday find a way to win at home for the fans, you know, have
another win at home. What would be sensational and um, you know, it would just prove that what coach Floors and the staff, you know, what they're trying to instill, what they're trying to do on a daily basis is getting guys to do the little things, and those little things create opportunities to win football games. And if you can capitalize when you create your own opportunities, you know, you're gonna have success, so hopefully we'll have another one
to talk about next week, no doubt. But remember the Audible is presented by Verizon, the network more people rely on. It gives you more like NFL tickets and experiences from rising up for John Knjemmy, I'm kim Bo Camper. That's gonna be for the Audible this week. Will catch you guys next week. Hope you have a good one to stay safe,
