Episode description

"It's not the destination... it's the journey"
How many times have we heard that quote?
And it's true! But... what is the destination?
Is there a possibility that you've already arrived at your destination, you just can't see it?

In this episode, host Stephanie Powers talks about:

  • Ways you may already be living your dream
  • Why there's never an ideal time for anything
  • How to reparent, re-teach, and re-discipline yourself
  • What can happen if you focus too much on "the destination"

Speaker 1 (00:21):

Welcome to the podcast episode all about Virgo season. Oh, what a big day in the stars it is today. First of all, we're not going to ignore the fact that it's August 23rd and Mercury has just gone retrograde, which will keep a total of five planets in retrograde Virgos like this because think of retrograde as medicine. You are revising, reviewing, right? If your stomach hurts and you're thinking, wow, do I have food poisoning? You all of a sudden start reviewing what you ate, right? If you get something, a diagnosis as serious as autoimmunity, you start reviewing and rewind into the past, okay, where did I really slip up in my diet? Where did I not take care of my daily routine? Where did I miss a doctor's appointment? Things like that. So when five planets are retrograde in the sky, seemingly moving backwards, we are being given a gift from the cosmos that says, Hey, stop, drop, shut 'em down. Oh enough shop, look back to the past and analyze history. So it will not be repeated moving forward.
(01:41)
Nature does not work. Mysteriously, there is a rhyme and a reason for everything that goes on with the seasons, with the stars, with the moon. They all work together. They know more, they hold more knowledge, way more knowledge than we humans do. But this is what I personally believe, that all these retrograde planets in this big, hefty dose of medicine, of rewinding, revising before we all go direct and move forward is because when Pluto stations and Aquarius for the next 18 years, I imagine there's going to be changes that we can't even sit here and debate and imagine will happen in terms of technology, the government and society as a whole, community as a whole. That's a whole other podcast episode quite literally. So if you want to know what Pluto and Aquarius means, go back to the archives from February or March of this year and look for the episode called Pluto and Aquarius, what it means and what to expect.
(02:47)
But today, we're not going to let any plated steel Virgo shine are we are. No, it is all about Virgo. Oh my goodness, Virgo, the mutable earth signs that rule criticizing critique and perfectionism. I think of Virgos and Geminis and Libras and really all of us, when I imagine social media and the comparison trap, this is just a regular old human emotion. We are all just hardwired to look to our left, look to our right and compare each other to each other, but Virgos, while they won't admit it, they're constantly sizing themselves up against everyone naturally, especially out in the world. They love to look at someone that walks in a room. What are they wearing? How do they carry themselves? How do they speak? Are they better than me? They are better than me. Why do I even bother trying to look good or feel good?
(03:50)
Because those people just knock it out of the park. It looks effortless. This is the mind of a Virgo. But I think of social media and how easy it is to fall into that comparison trap. Life is not fucking fair and some people are just dealt a better hand of cards than others. We cannot deny that fact. This is where I started to kind of detach from the whole manifestation practice, and if you believe and think positive, then your life will be positive, which isn't always the case. I look at money coaches and manifesting coaches and I'm like, okay, that's great. There are some nuggets of wisdom and advice in those things that people can really put to practical use, but you don't know where they're coming from. There's an analogy jail, and I used to use where people will tell you, just pick your bootstraps up, just tie 'em up.
(04:38)
And it's like, yeah, but you could be talking to people who can't even afford boots. And so how can you tell someone to just strap their boots up if they can't even buy the boots because of where they came from, what their current family or financial picture looks like? Do you know what I mean? And so this is where the comparison trap of social media just gets so sticky and difficult, especially for my Virgos. A lot of times when we're on social media and we have to clean up our following, who we follow. By the way, Virgo season is a great time to go through who you follow, what content you take in and see is it empowering me or disempowering me? And even if it's someone you love, an influencer or a content creator that you really adore, you just find that you are currently not in an optimistic mindset to take in that information without being hypercritical of both them and yourself. Unfollow them. It can be temporary. Take your power back. It's because you unfollow someone. Doesn't mean you don't like them, you're just protecting you. You guys hear me say this, we're Guinea pigs in this game of social media and the internet, and we are on our own to figure out how to use it in a healthy, self-disciplined, balanced way.
(05:59)
But when you think of things like fame, famous people, celebrity status, isn't it kind of just always for generations and decades and almost millennia that we all kind of have this inkling in us to be famous? You'll find the rare person that's like, fuck that. No thank you, but if it happened, maybe they wouldn't quite mind it. But it's rare. It's very common for people to want fame. In fact, a lot of the current teenage generation, they want to go to school or they want to learn how to be an influencer, which is fame on the internet and break down that word influencer. They want to be so high up and perfect and known that they influence the thoughts and the lives of others. Their lives are so perfect and great that they want their lives to influence others. That's crazy that people want to do that for a job because life and your character is not ever perfect.
(07:15)
But with AI and with filters and with social media, it was supposed to be an art of sharing your creativity and instead it turned into a competition of who's the best looking, who has the best family, who's rocking the best spouse, who's got the most money? And it's getting sticky. And this is where we circle right back to that Pluto and Aquarius that's going to really come through and say, alright, here's the dark shadow side to social media. And I want to remind you guys that yes, I guess I'm in the influencer category. I don't really share photos of my personal self. You'll never see a photo of me in a bikini on the internet. I question if and when I'm blessed to have children, if I would ever even share them, I probably would because I love you guys so much, but it's sticky.
(08:04)
And I, having been in this sphere, I've gotten to mingle because it is like a little royalty post with their people who have millions of followers and they make a really good living as an influencer on the internet. And I can with 110% cross my Scorpio, moon heart hope to die certainty and accuracy to tell you that these people are messy and their lives are not what it looks like on the internet. And in full transparency, neither is mine. I share with you guys a lot and I want to write a book that shares even more, but it's vulnerable. People want to share their messy imperfections and flaws on the internet, but then that's already as difficult as it is. But then fucking people on the internet make you feel even worse for it. And you just, to the people who have accounts who I think of some women I follow who share their cellulite, who share constant photos of them in a bikini to say, look, this is what a normal body looks like. It's got hair in weird places, it's got stretch marks, it's got cellulite. It's not a six pack. I love them, but they still get shit thrown at them like, Ew, why do you share this? And that just takes a level of courage that I tip my hat to. Now, what does all this have to do with Virgo season? This is the conversation that Virgo is consistently having in their mind.
(09:37)
Can I be vulnerable? Can I accept that I am messy and everyone around me is also messy and nobody is perfect? I was watching a video by an astrologer named Chad. He is at Chad the Maverick on Instagram, check him out. He makes really funny reels and videos, but also some really intelligent pieces of wisdom and advice, and he was talking about retrogrades being medicine. And oftentimes we think New Moon or retrograde, think about what you want to manifest. We're always talking about as humans bringing in more, more and more, what do you need to feel better? What do you need to chase your dreams? What do you need to add into your life to make you feel better, to make you feel like you can share your body and life and relationships and family and it's perfect. Why don't we ever ask the question, what do I need to subtract?
(10:33)
What do I need to let go of? Here's the most Virgo thing ever. Do you guys know how good energetically it feels to donate a big bag of clothes to go through your closet, to go through each room in your house and say, okay, haven't touched that in a year. I tell myself I need it and I have an attachment to it, but I don't let it go. Donate it. Get rid of it, sell it, and get little extra cash. Rego loves that. The energetic cleanse of decluttering your space is absolutely what the cosmos and the sun moving into Virgo is asking us to do right now. Decluttering your space. So Chad was saying, we associate things with adding, adding, adding. Well during all these planets and retrograde this medicine we're being gifted. Subtract, who can you let go? What can you let go and don't forget about yourself?
(11:29)
What do you want to let go? Is it an extra five pounds, just feel a little literally lighter? Or is it a subconscious thought programming that you really want to release? If you guys want to work with a better health therapist, it's such a flexible way to work with a trained professional on your thought process. And this could be therapy for months to a year, or you guys could just pay for one month and use our discount code lightworker to work with a therapist for the next four weeks while the planets are in retrograde. This is a very favorable time to do that. I'll leave the link to get a discount. I got you in the show notes. But if you go to better help.com/lightworker, it already takes off 10% off just one month. Use it. Don't say you didn't tell you use it. So before we jump into the meat and potatoes of what Virgo season is, I have to share this because the universe synchronicities have been pushing me and I didn't plan to do it, but it's you guys who have been filling up my dms and my email inbox.
(12:36)
I love hearing from you. I love names that I recognize because you guys always want to say hi and comment on other episodes. I love it so much. I n the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I feel like so many of you just heard me say that and we're like, I've been waiting for her to talk about this because I've been receiving a lot of questions about this school and it's so on par with the Virgo season because Virgo rules health, holistic health. You guys probably may notice that I have a little obsession with holistic health, hence the medical astrology episodes and pretty much the entirety of flight workers lounge. I always drop hints about living a holistic life myself known as in Virgo. I have a stellium in the sixth house of Virgo, but I don't have any planets in that sign. But boy do I love me some Virgos.
(13:27)
So holistic health is extremely important. I'm a big proponent of if your physical body is not at homeostasis or balance, how on earth are you going to expect your emotional energetic body to reach homeostasis? I really believe that the physical is where it ends and begins, right? We cannot process emotions. And I mean sometimes it goes both ways. Okay? I am going to retract a little bit. It goes both ways. You guys. It is so hard to be a podcaster. There's so many things that I know I've said in the past that I'm like, wow, I'm a really big hypocrite, but then that's going to just spin me out into imposter syndrome and then I won't show up. And then there's messages that people need that they won't receive. And how arrogant would it be to harbor your gift from the world and the name of occasionally being a hypocrite in the name of imposter syndrome?
(14:25)
Just show up. I'm sharing this vulnerably in real time because I want you to see Virgos that I have this tendency in me too. It took me about an hour. I went to go vacuum. This is so Virgo. I went to go vacuum, do some dishes because I was just talking myself out of recording this saying, I don't feel ready. It needs to be good. I need to just, but you just have to show up and accept that you're messy, you're imperfect, and it's okay. It's okay. A lot of podcasters I listen to, I even notice like, oh, they used to say this, but now they're saying this. And I find that beautiful. It's a sign of growth in people. So a lot of you guys do too, because no one really mentions it as much as I do. So I love you guys for that.
(15:13)
So back to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. This is where I went to school and got certified as a holistic health coach. If you want to read my whole really cool synchronistic story about it, go to the website, lightworkers lounge.com, click on lifestyle, and then there's a dropdown that says, become a holistic health coach. I share how I founded my holistic health practice evolve to health. There's a little picture of me where I published my first ever book called Thyroid First Aid Kit. I sold hundreds and hundreds. I think we might've even reached thousands. It's still on Amazon and I self-published. And the only reason how I knew how to do that was through I I n. Because at the end of my course, they said, there's a supplemental one month course if you want to learn how to publish your own book, sign up.
(16:05)
And I was like, holy shit. This is yes. And I did. And I've got to say, I sold enough books to pay off my tuition. It was just so, so cool, changed my life, changed my family's life. I n is not just for people who want to make a career out of being a holistic health coach. It's for people who want to just live a healthier, more in tune with the natural world lifestyle. And the reason that I choose this school over the many other wonderful natural herbal holistic schools is because the Saturn and Capricorn in me kicked in. I wanted to make it my career. I wanted to take it serious and make money off of it and make it my full-time job. The second half of the course of the curriculum for I I n is teaching you exactly that. They have no problem talking about money, which I love.
(17:00)
And as a graduate from a business school with a bachelor's degree in it, I learned more in six months with i n about how to run a business, how to get clients, how to market newsletters, et cetera, et cetera, than I did in business school, which kills me. I spent a lot of money going to college, but I love that. And they make a promise to you that by the end of your time with them, you will have at least one paid client if you show up and do exactly as they say. And I did. I ended up having three before I graduated, and that was how I was able to quit my corporate nine to five. So with that said, if you guys are interested in going to i n, it's so in sync. I didn't realize this until yesterday, that they have a very huge end of year back to school sale going on run.
(17:55)
Don't walk because this is not their norm. They're offering $1,800 off of tuition. That's almost 2000 off. That's like 30% off. Like holy crap, I didn't even get that when I signed up for them. If you guys are thinking of going to i n, if it's been on your heart and on your mind and you are ready to make the commitment and dive in, change your career in 2024 or simply learn, which is going to be very important. Come Pluto and Aquarius, how to live with the seasons, how to live naturally a holistic life, help your children, your parents, your loved ones with all of this knowledge, enroll at I A N. It will be the best investment that one of the best investments you'll ever make in your life. I'm going to add the link so you can use Lightworkers Lounge and Stephanie Powers as the referral to make sure you get this discount in our show notes. If you can't find it there, go to lightworkers lounge.com and remember, click on lifestyle at the top, the dropdown to become a holistic health coach, and then you can read all about it. If you have more questions, I know it is an investment of your time and money and you want to hear from me directly, shoot me an email s power@lightworkerslounge.com. I'd love to chat health. Okay, now that I have shared that with you guys, are you ready to talk about Virgo season?
(19:23)
I hope you guys had a really good birthday, are all about me. Me, they came here to feel like the movie Star of Life. And as you guys know from listening to me, every sign after and before, you are your neighbors and they are totally opposite. More opposite than Sister signs. If Leos are about me, me, me and being the main character, Virgos are about us. You, Virgos are the givers. These selfless givers. They want to perfect everyone around them besides themselves. They want to give and be pure to others. So Virgo season is August 23rd until September 22nd. It is an earth sign and earth signs are our grounded. They love money, hard work. They are practical, logical Earth signs are usually the last ones to believe in astrology or the things they can't see or measure. Out of the three Earth signs, Virgo, Taurus, Capricorn, I've got to say my Taurus people do love astrology.
(20:35)
Sometimes I very, very rarely get a Capricorn son booking a birth chart reading. In fact, the only reading I have ever had where they just said, I can't do this, I just don't. This shit's stupid was a Capricorn. I still love them though. I love Capricorn Moon, Capricorn rising, but they don't love astrology. Virgos, they love astrology, right? More than their earth counterparts, TA and Capricorn. And the reason being is Virgos modality is mutable. So they are very flexible with their thinking rather than Capricorn and Taurus who are cardinal and fixed in their thoughts like not bud not happening. Taurus men happen to be some of the most anti spirituality, anti-religious sometimes and anti. I don't believe in the things I can't see. I'm not going to believe in the stars categorizing my personality, people I've ever met. Now, Virgos, Virgo men, Virgo women know they're very curious about it, especially if they can find a practical use for astrology.
(21:45)
What astrology can be self-improvement. It can be personal development. Virgo shows up with a notebook and says, let's do this. I'm going to learn everything. And if I can learn about the birth charts of those around me to help them, oh, I'll pay whatever to sign up for whatever I want to learn it all. It's funny now that I've done birth chart readings for years now and over a thousand of them, I can with certainty tell you, I get so pumped when I get a Virgo Sun, moon or rising because I know when I ask at the end of our session, do you have any questions, Virgo say, as a matter of fact, I do. And they grab their pen. They're like, so how do you explain? I love it. I can't get enough of it. I'm clearly obsessed with astrology. So when they come with the questions, I'm like, yes, ask all the questions.
(22:34)
And there's no question the off limits and I love it. Thank you, Virgos. They are ruled by the planet Mercury, and they share this with Gemini. So Mercury's in retrograde, don't text your ex. Mercury is the planet of communication, intellect, the nervous system, the thought process, the brain, how we speak, how we communicate, and how we process information. Virgo shares this with Gemini. They're both ruled by Mercury. And so a lot of times, if you're trying to guess, someone's signed just off their body language how they carry themselves. You might mistake a Gemini for a Virgo or a Virgo for a Gemini except for Gemini. Here's how they differ. Gemini rules social stimulation. They love to socialize. They want to get to know everyone in the name of their cat and dog A, they'll remember your favorite coffee and have it ordered for you with the barista that knows their order already before you arrive to the coffee date.
(23:32)
Virgo uses that mental stimulation and the thought process and the witty and the quick stimulation for accomplishments and to perfect things. Virgo is one of the most signs. These are my lawyers, doctors, scientists, surgeons, very, very, very smart people who perfect a craft. There's this funny meme going around Instagram that says, your worst nightmare is having to be rushed to a hospital and your surgeon's a Sagittarius, your nurses and Aries, you don't want that. Your surgeon, if it's a sag, they'll be bumping beats in the surgery room with the door open and no one's wearing gloves because ah, whenever we ran out. But a Virgo because of their precision and hyperawareness of the details is who you want. Your dream would be the Cancerian nurse, the Virgo surgeon, those people. Virgo is rule by the number six. So when you look at a birth chart and you see that the house is the pie slices all have numbers on them, Virgo is ruled by the number six.
(24:43)
And if we pull that into spirituality and synchronicity when we see 6, 6, 6, the devil, no, 6, 6, 6. I like it. I think it's a nudge from the spirit guide or the angel that is a Virgo saying, Hey, balance your thoughts please. I know that when I'm paying bills every Monday, I check all my finances or I pay bills that are due and I can get down and out When I'm as a creator, I have some feast and famish periods. And when I start to worry too much about money, I usually see 6, 6, 6 a lot or relationships or anything I'm worrying too much about. I'll start to see 6, 6, 6. And I know that it's a feeling of, okay, calm down. Everything's okay. Let's bring some balance here. Virgos sister sign. So the sign exactly opposite of them on the zodiac wheel is Pisces. And of all the sister signs, this is the one that I really got to study to understand and it finally clicked.
(25:45)
Virgo and Pisces, what do they share in common? You might think of any Virgo or Piscean people and think, yeah, they are total opposite. Oh, they are all right. They both rule healing. My Virgos are my nurses and my doctors and my physicians, people who say, here is anatomy and physiology. Here's how the organs work. It's tried, tested, improved, and this is how we can fix it. Pisces says, I'm a healer, but the energy, your solar plexus chakra is nonexistent. Let's work on some breath work and bringing in different energies and creativities to open that up to achieve healing, right? So Virgos are my nurses. Pisces are my reiki massage therapists. Does that make sense? And they both rule boundaries. Virgo tends to have too many boundaries to where they push good people and good opportunities away under the guise of imperfections. Pisces has no boundaries and will constantly allow the wrong people and go after the wrong opportunities because they just have no self-discipline to place boundaries with temptations.
(26:55)
Does that make sense? So the symbol for Virgo, it looks like an M with a little curly tail at the end. It's very similar to Scorpio, who looks like an M, but then it curls out. So the M with the curly tail at the end, it represents closed genitals. Why? Because Virgo is derived from the word virgin. It is an archetype of virginity. And so closed genitals at the end of that M represent purity. Isn't that wild? And of course, you think of Scorpio with the little arrow sticking out that is actually representative of penis. So Scorpio rule sex, and we'll get there when we get there in a couple months. Okay? That'll be a really sultry episode. But they're similar in that Virgo is virginity closed genitals. Scorpio is sex as power open genitals boner, ready to go. Okay, another definition for the glyph of Virgo is its wisdom. One hump tied to feeling and emotion. The next hump crossed by practicality, right? So okay, that's the mutability of Virgo. I feel something. My emotions communicating this message, let me cross over it and really look it over with some practicality.
(28:22)
Virgos symbol is a virgin, a woman holding a sheath of wheat, right? And it's so funny, as you guys heard in the health episodes, Virgos tend to be the most sensitive to gluten and wheat, but their symbol is a woman holding a sheath of wheat and it represents harvest. So here in the northern hemisphere, we are about to enter fall at the end of Virgo season, and this is when we start to harvest the fruits of this summer's labor. So hopefully that food will last us all through winter until next spring and summer. Virgo holding a sheaf of wheat symbol represents only taking what has been sown, what has been earned. Virgos work tirelessly extremely hard, similar to their cousin Capricorn. They'll give up today's temptation for tomorrow's reward. They only take what has been earned, and this is why Virgos and one reason why Virgos rule, giving, giving, giving, they struggle to receive.
(29:28)
If they don't feel like they have earned something, they will struggle to receive it. And we'll get to that. There's a really good point with that one, but JL and I have mentioned it on a few episodes where we talk about how we've noticed where birthday parties, him and I travel a lot. We see a lot of things. And during Virgo season, there are so many birthdays outdoors at public national parks, at public parks, and we're like, that is so Virgo. There's no alcohol. I don't want that. That's bad for you. It says the Virgo, but it's outdoor birthday parties. Libras to go to Broadway in Nashville. Scorpios just want to celebrate their birthday with one, maybe two people in a dark space alone, private, intimate, sad, Disneyland and Universal Studios is popping. The list goes on. Capricorns, they're working no time for a birthday.
(30:24)
You won't see them anywhere. Okay, but let's see, we went over it derived from Virgin. It's a purity of motives and the health. If you know from the last few episodes about medical astrology, Virgo rules, the nervous system and the intestines. A lot of Virgos I know struggle with constipation or I b s, Crohn's, diarrhea and also not sexy, but this is Virgo things. They really struggle with digesting things because it's tough for them to reach the state of rest and digest because being rolled by Mercury being the perfectionist, being a worrywart, and we're going to get to that too. Their body is just constantly inflamed with worry. And so ulcers are very common with a sign as well, and autoimmunity, because of their tendency to be extremely self-critical. How would that emotion manifest in the body, the body attacking itself? Autoimmunity. So the good part about Virgos is they are givers.
(31:30)
Their intentions are so pure, they love people and want to see people reach their highest potential. This is the purest sign of them all. They just struggle to receive because think about it, to give something, whether it's money, time help, it kind of naturally puts you in a superior position in whatever that situation may be. If you are giving someone money, you are above them in terms of finances. So you have enough to share. If you are giving knowledge and education, you are superior and intelligence to receive could be represented as weakness, as impurity. Why do so many of us struggle to receive? We don't feel worthy of receiving or we don't want to be in a position of feeling weak or less than. This is Virgo. So to all of my Virgos, listening to all my people who are living lives with Virgos, force them to receive help and remind them it does not make you weak.
(32:37)
You cannot give if you cannot receive, it does not work that way. Virgo is the sign of anxiety and insecurity, and every time I ask a Virgo this or I announce it, they're saying, no, I'm not. No, I've got pretty good confidence. I can walk in a place and introduce myself like not really doesn't resonate. They'll never show it. They'll never ever show it. Because to show it is to be vulnerable. And again, circling back to the struggle to give and receive, that is a sign of weakness. It puts me in an inferior position. I cannot do that. But I've also noticed that Virgos won't show it or admit it because they truly don't believe it. They are quite literally little Virgos are born being little givers. Do you know any Virgo children? I can more than imagine that they are wonderful children who clean and take care of the house and help their parents. We should record a whole episode on this, but I was reading an astrology book one time, you don't say, and I heard that dependent on whatever sunshine your child is, is what your family dynamic really needs to learn and bring in. So if you give birth to a tourist child, you need to learn to be more grounded, to go slow and relax and you need to learn more.
(34:07)
If you give birth to a Leo child, you need to work on your three selves, self-worth, self value. You need to tap into your inner child and give them a hug. If you give birth to a Capricorn, you really need more self-discipline and structure and you've got to fix wounds with your mother and father, so on and so forth. It's really cool. But to people who give birth to a Virgo son, it has been said that the Virgo is going to come in and fix a very broken dynamic. There is some impurity going around in their relationship or the family, and these little Virgo babies are going to come in and say, oh, wow, look at this. Not of a mess, I was handed. Well, I'm going to use all of my Virgo gifts to untie this, unravel it, and break this pattern and bring some purity into this dynamic.
(34:56)
These are little fixers and helpers, right? Okay, so if you're listening to this and you've got kiddos and you're thinking, well, shit, I just had an Aquarius. What does that mean? Don't, don't think too much about it. I do worry about my fellow sensitive people who hear about unquote bad placements and look at their children's charts and go, oh, shit. No, there's so many more things we would have to look at to declare that. I don't ever want astrology to be a blanket statement or putting personalities and experiences and futures into a box. That's not how it works, okay? That's why it's so important to enjoy podcasts like these and enjoy all the things you can learn on TikTok or Instagram, but keep your mind open and flexible enough to say, okay, if something I read or heard is giving me anxiety, invest in a reading with a professional astronomer to quen those fears because you are probably giving yourself anxiety over it for no reason.
(35:50)
Virgos, they are wearing the badge of honor when it comes to worrying over nothing that never ends up happening, worrying over a future that probably will not be. This is why Virgos have ulcers, okay? Don't be like that. Virgos. They will often say, I don't have anxiety while shaking and drinking a beverage, they'll often say, I don't have anxiety while having the runs all day long and saying, I'm fine. They are so used to living in a state of anxiety that they don't know what a state of being calm and centered and grounded feels like. Virgos, you love to run. You love to be on the go. This is great exercise form, breath work and meditation every single day, since I know you guys love your daily routine is essential, absolutely essential. Virgos are not daydreamers. They're day doers. If you think of the sixth house, that Virgo house, it rules your daily routine.
(36:58)
Do you wake up and drink lemon water before you touch your phone? Do you go to bed at night reading a book, not scrolling on your phone? Do you get sunlight before blue light in the morning before you take off and dive into work? These are all Virgo things. Virgos came here to bring order to chaos, right? Bringing order to chaos. We just had a chaotic summer break where chaotic could be crazy, but it can also be fun, right? Summer break, no rules, no school bells, no schedules, no calendars. Do whatever you want. Woo-hoo. Virgo comes in and says, we need some structure here. So this is why it's so funny that Virgo season is normally when we all go, what? Back to school. We came up with some new dreams during summer break, but now we need to go back to school to learn and grow and practice self-discipline so we can reach and attain our goals, says Virgo.
(37:58)
Virgo, like I said earlier, is just pure intelligence and it's because of their highly analytical abilities. These guys love to study human motivations and human behavior, and they secretly love drama because it's a problem to be solved. Virgos love when you come to them with drama, relationship issues, shit going on in your family, they're the ones that are like, yes, sit down, let's chat. Let's sort through it. And they love to give you advice and solutions. Something Virgos really struggle with is can you understand that some people just want you to listen? They don't want you to solve their problems. They're not looking for a solution, they're not looking for the medicine. They more than likely know what they need to do or what they need to say. They just want someone to listen and say, well, I believe in you. I see how strong you are.
(38:57)
Give me a hug and to just hold safe space for them. This is the hardest thing in the world for a Virgo to do because again, they are those Mother Teresa, which she literally is. This is towards the end of the episode. I was going to share that Mother Teresa was literally a Virgo who want to just hold you and solve all of your problems for you. We talk a lot about codependency in the Monday, what's new and good newsletter and Virgo rules codependency absorbing the consequences of other people's actions. It is so hard for a Virgo to sit back because they're so analytical and so perceptive. They can see what's coming long before you even make the mistake. And so this is how they tend to knock themselves in hot water because they can see it and they don't even go there. Whereas other more free spirited signs, they're like, ah, fuck it, I'm doing it.
(39:49)
We'll figure out, cross that bridge when we get there. Not a Virgo, but Virgos are some of the most common sign. Get this for actors and actresses. What? Yes, Google, some of your favorite actors or actresses, and I bet you they're born in late August or most of September. How could this be Virgos, the uptight, earthy, grounded analytical sign? No way. Yes, way. Because they analyze human behavior. They're so intelligent that they loved study psychology, and so they more than many other signs can tap into a character simply because they have analyzed and remembered what that super intelligent memory of theirs, how to behave like a certain person. I think a lot of Virgos excel as performers because they're their natural state of being is so highly critical and anxiety ridden that they get to step out of that character and become someone new and take a break from it for a minute.
(40:56)
Jumping ahead here, we'll just get it out of the way. But Beyonce is also a Virgo. I love her. I don't know anybody who doesn't, at least at bare minimum appreciate the work that that woman puts in. Think of her. Have you ever seen anything in the tabloids about her that say she's imperfect or that say she's done some nasty things? No, the woman somehow managed to get married and stay out of the spotlight. There's no scandals or affairs or drugs or shaving head. I know you guys are thinking of pretty spears and well, she gets a hall pass because she's a Sagittarius, but she's purity. She's pure and she's the freaking best at what she does. You got to hand that to her, and I think it's because she has studied performing and other people so well that she imitates it and mimics it and has her own creative flare.
(41:48)
The girl's got to a Scorpio moon. Let us not forget, she is extreme with her perfectionist, but if you remember from her documentary from a long time ago, admitted to having anxiety and worry and overthinking, and so she used a stage persona. Sasha Fierce when she gets on stage. She's not Beyonce, she's Sasha Fierce, and that helped her with the anxiety and the overthinking. So when she's on stage and all eyes are on her, she can tell that Virgo in her can say, okay, if I mess up, it's not Beyonce messing up, it's Sasha. I'm good. If I miss a note or if I slip and fall or my hair gets caught in a fan, it's not Beyonce, it's Sasha Fierce. So we can just forget about it when it's all is said and done. Genius, right? Genius. Forever. Virgo. Virgo is the sign, like I was saying, that does not trust in synchronicity or spirituality. That is more their sister sign, Pisces, they want facts. They want facts. This is Virgo. If you say you're going to do something, do it. I don't care if there's an earthquake. I don't care if you were getting sick, if you say you're going to do it, do it. And so this, and that's good. We need Virgos to give us all a hefty dose of self-discipline and purity. But to Virgos, I say learn to see the forest instead of getting lost in the trees.
(43:14)
It's difficult for Virgos to do this because if we can understand the trees, then maybe we can understand the forest, and that is not entirely wrong. But if you get lost in the little details, life's going to pass you by really good moments and relationships will pass you by opportunities that could change your life. And your financial picture will just miss you by a hair. But they will miss you if you're so focused on the trees and cannot zoom out and be the observer of the forest sometimes. And so this is why the number one lesson for Virgos is to accept that life is messy, that are messy, that people around you are messy and nobody is going to be perfect, especially you. People are going to make mistakes, especially you, and that's okay. It's all about how you react to them. Now, I also want to preface this with if you're in an abusive situation, that's not okay.
(44:25)
And if someone continuously makes extreme mistakes over that is not okay. I'm talking about the little things here, okay? Just remember that I want to preface this with that message. People are not perfect, but if they show up and take ownership of their mistakes, apologize for them, hear you out, work on their behaviors moving forward, that's how life should go. That's just how it is. My Virgos, your mind is your superpower. If you hold on to a negative attitude, your reality will unfold negatively. When we're studying Virgo in astrology school, they, and this leads me to the shadow side of Virgo, they often attract some pretty intense drama. I'm talking like fire signs, Scorpio esque drama, and it's because they're so self-critical of themselves and everyone around them that there can be some really deep shadows to this sign. Virgos may make life more difficult than it has to be because for every answer, they have a question, for every explanation they have.
(45:34)
A but making mountains out of molehills is Virgos specialty. It's both their greatest gift but also their greatest burden. Does that make sense? Making mountains out of molehill, we've got to qum those thoughts. Virgos rule health and the physical health of the body. If that isn't perfect, the outer will reflect that. No brain fog, no brain fog, Virgos. You got to get the physical body looking good. They love using earth to heal. This is a big Virgo thing. They love to use herbs and diet to heal their body rather than medicine, antibiotic surgery, et cetera. That's the last option for them. A lot of Virgos are holistic health coaches, which is why I had to plug i I m. And a lot of Virgos are herbalists and they love being paying close attention to their diet. So now we're going to hop down to the shadow side with all this pure virgin energy can also come some of the darkest energy. And it feels weird saying this about Virgos because they are known to just be perfect, lovely, graceful, but they do have quite the dark side. When we think of the dark side, who do we think of Scorpio? But a lesser known fact about Scorpio is they can also be one of the happiest, most extroverted sunshiny signs out there because they turn all of the bad things they've seen and experienced into such a deep appreciation for life. And so with Virgo ruling, purity and virginity and helping and giving can come the opposite.
(47:27)
Virgos next Aries are one of the most common signs for cheating in relationships, right? Libra and Aries are up there too. Libra cheats because love should be romantic. And they just came here to learn about relationships. Aries cheats because they're like, I'm fucking bored and I need passion and excitement. Virgo cheats, and it sounds so weird saying that, but they hide it so well. Virgo cheats because insecurities are eating them alive. If they don't feel appreciated for all that they've been giving a disempowered Virgo will go somewhere where they feel appreciated. Normally, it's not even about sex and cheating for Virgos, it's about is this person more intelligent? Do they make me feel more valued for all that I give? Do they give back to me more than my previous partner? Another big shadow side of Virgos is over controlling, nitpicking the nonstop criticism. Analytical mind of Virgos can really clip the wings of free spirits around them.
(48:37)
A lot of people, when we do polls on cosmic coconut, I refer to these often. So if you guys don't join us on Instagram, please go. It's really fun to hear your experiences. But one time I said, what is the sun sign of your parents or the person who raised you and how did they go? And one of the number one worst signs for a parent was Virgo. And it's because they are so controlling. And in my birth chart consultations with you guys, they're like therapy sessions, and it's got to be my Scorpio moon pulling it out of you. But a lot of people have said that emotional abuse has stemmed from a Virgo partner. And again, I love Virgo, so I'm like, how do I relay this message? But Virgos do this because of their own insecurities. First of all, they're born with a natural tendency to be hyper aware, which makes them hypercritical, but their own insecurities that I was saying earlier, they don't even really, it's hard for them to even realize it make them more critical.
(49:41)
So if you are living with or dating a Virgo, understand that the criticism is going to be served. The question that you can constantly ask them to get them to stop or lessen the criticizing is what are you afraid of? What are you afraid of? If you have a parent that's a Virgo and they just won't stop with the nitpicking, and I can't believe you're dating that person, I can't believe you're working that job. Your future is just going to shit. Ask them, mom, dad, parent, what are you afraid of? You're afraid of me. What? When you can get a Virgo to open up and answer that question, it can really help with the overbearing over controlling tendencies that this sign can exhibit. They've got quite the reputation for it. And the last shadow side of Virgo that I was baffled in my experience with readings to hear over and over was addiction.
(50:44)
And then I guess I was like, oh, silly me for not equating that to Virgo. Their sister. Pisces is the sign that rules addiction. And so of course, Virgo is dabbling in that, but Pisces falls into addiction because that boundaries, they don't have boundaries with drugs, with alcohol, they feel super deep because they're a water sign and they want to drown those feelings out with substances. Virgos have strict boundaries, but sometimes they don't with themselves. And Virgos can drown depending on the rest of their chart. Of course, especially if they have a water moon or a water rising can drown in the voices in their head that are so mean and tell them they're not worthy, that everyone around them makes more money, is better looking, is cooler, is smarter, sexier, whatever. They can drown in that and reach for a substance. When a Virgo discovers what a state of grounded homeostasis can feel like, they will be addicted to that thing that provides that without realizing breath work, slowing down, admitting vulnerabilities to people, answering what are you afraid of, can naturally give that.
(52:03)
And so that was a really interesting fact about Virgos that I've noticed over the past year of readings that they can fall into addiction and overdoing it with the alcohol, the drugs, the coffee, the ayahuasca, the mushrooms, you name it, we heard it. So Virgos, they have got to learn to let go, to love that thing that they love to criticize about someone that they think, if this person just gets rid of this, they'll be better off. If this person can just fix and change that, they'll be a better partner or friend or child. For me, they've got to learn to love that thing about someone or leave them alone. Virgos have such a reputation for pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick, pick. It will drive people insane. You will continue the reputation of being controlling and poor. Virgos just, I love them and this is why I'm saying this.
(53:05)
They've got to just learn to love those imperfections and impurities about people or leave them alone. Learn to be honest, to be vulnerable. When you admit your faults, when you are a Virgo who says, okay, you're right, I do need to stop being controlling. I do, to stop being so critical of everyone around me. You actually move five spaces towards your goal of being perfect when you can admit, whoop. Yep, fucked up on that one. Oops. Steph said, I have addiction and alcohol. Yeah, definitely do. Whoops, and share that side of you with someone with the public show that you're imperfect. You actually win the hearts of more people than you thought, and you become more well known as the healer than you thought. So the examples of people who are Virgos were Mother Teresa, Beyonce, which we talked about. But the last one that really I think personally drives the point and the definition of Virgo home is Michael Jackson, r i p, Mr.
(54:13)
Michael Jackson, the king of Virgos. He was so good at singing, dancing, producing this man was incredible, but as most of us know, he was so his internal voice that was so critical made him change his skin. He looked in the mirror and saw how beautiful, he didn't see how beautiful he was. I did how beautiful or imperfect he was, and he thought, well, what is perfect is a white man with a tiny pointy nose and eyes that looked like this and jawline and that looked like that. And so he overdid it on trying to change his appearance to be fitting of that definition of what is perfect, right? We all look at old photos of him and we're like, you were so handsome and great. You are good looking. What happened? Why would you do that? Change your hair, your nose, your skin. You were already so perfect.
(55:16)
That is just a really good example. And bless him, r i p, of what Virgo can do to the mind, body, and soul. There's books that say Virgos are capable of real cruelty. They could be so judgmental, don't know when to stop. They give unsolicited advice without thinking about the consequences that that person will have to live with if they do. As a Virgo says, and this is why Virgos can have anxiety, because they do this to themselves. They're cruel to themselves, judgmental to themselves, and don't know when to stop and give themselves a compliment. So remember, with all this heavy energy about Virgo, ask them, and if you're a Virgo listening, ask yourself, what are you afraid of? Now, I just want to wrap up before we get into the questions that we can all ask ourselves this season and work on and say, Virgos, we can't live without 'em.
(56:15)
They are so detrimental to the balance of the Zodiac sign at Zodiac signs and the cosmos, because without we would be a hot fucking mess and love always a Sagittarius dating a Virgo, I love my Virgo partner. He really helps me not be so sag and free spirit and letting the wrong people in or making the wrong choices and embarrassing myself and struggling with just being too much of a free spirit. He grounds me and helps me become my best person. He keeps my physical health in check, my emotional health in check. I strive with my Saturn and Capricorn to be mature and practice more self-discipline than my sad son is used to. And a Virgo partner really helps you with that. When you look good, you feel good. And when you're doing good things in the world, you feel good about yourself and around and around that circle goes.
(57:12)
This is the high side of Virgo is they help us be our best selves. We all have a passion for self-development and personal improvement. Virgos are spearheading that change, and I love them for that. So Virgos, thank you for that virginity pure energy that you give us every single day. Now, for all of us experiencing Virgo season every year in late August and September, things to ask yourself to iron out during the season. Do I forgive myself for being human, for hurting feelings, for breaking hearts? Do you really forgive yourself for that? Who have you pushed away because you tried to make them someone more suitable for you rather than accepting them for who they are? I added this question in there because as we're on the heels of ending Venus, retrogrades been all about revising, revisiting love and connection and values and relationships, how we relate to other people during this Virgo season.
(58:22)
As we wrap up the Venus retrograde and she goes directly, or this month of September, ask yourself, who have you pushed away because you tried to make them someone more suitable for you rather than accepting them for who they are? And I understand this is such a gray area, and there's so much mutable energy to this question, but we want to share our love language with our partner so that they know how to love us and make us feel good. But sometimes we can overdo it and get to a point where we are robbing someone of who they are at their core in order to fill a void of a wound within ourselves. A quote I often retract back to is the thing we fell in love with someone for often ends up being the thing we are angry about and either break up with them for, or it's the root of all of our fighting.
(59:21)
Let's say you fell in love with someone because they're a free spirit and you just love that about them, how they just float around. They're optimistic. Nothing weighs them down too much. They don't say no. They say yes more than they say no, and then you form a relationship with them, and all of a sudden you don't like how many people they talk to and you don't like how many people want to talk to them. You're jealous. That's triggering the wound of jealousy. All of a sudden, you're like, I want a partner who is grounded home every day for dinner, who builds their life around us and our family. But that's not why you fell in love with that person. Let's say you fell in love with someone for their work ethic and how much money they make, not in a materialistic way. You just got some tourist placements and you love financial security, but then when you get really close with them and you don't see them as much because they have to work a lot to earn that income, it upsets you and you start a lot of fights over it.
(01:00:19)
That's why I ask this question. Who have you pushed away or tried to make them someone they're not? Rather than accept them for who they are and celebrate that or leave them alone, we cannot overshadow and overlook that Virgo rules health for all of us until Libra season comes around. I know the beginning of the year, January, new year, new me, we all think of going to the gym, eating better. But if you want to work with the seasons and the stars, Virgo season is actually the most fruitful, beneficial, fertile time to work on your health book the Dentist appointment. Go for a checkup. If you feel like something's off, go get some blood work. Start paying attention to how much water you do or don't drink, and ask yourself this. If you know how to eat better, how to drink more water to move your body every day, but you don't do it, why?
(01:01:18)
You know to eat more fruits and vegetables, or what foods are better for you to drink water over wine? Why aren't you doing it? Journal about that. You'll be surprised what comes up during Virgo season when you ask yourself that question. Here's a good one. Name one flaw that you have. Go ahead. Name something that's impure about yourself. Write it down, and then after you write it down, say it out loud. I am not good at communication, and this is why. Oh, ow. I am hypocritical on my podcast sometimes because I am in a continuous state of evolving and growing. That kind of makes me feel embarrassed. But there I said it. Admit it to someone. If you want to take it up a notch, admit your flaw to someone. And ooh, if you want to go deep because you've got Scorpio in your chart, go apologize to someone who was hurt by your flaw.
(01:02:23)
Take ownership. Say, I've recognized that. I really struggle with good communication, and I really want to apologize to you for that. Ooh, okay. Lots of healing could be done by that. And the final one, what behaviors or people am I ready to release so I can reach the highest version, the purest version of myself? Thank you guys for tuning into the episode all about Virgo season. Give up alcohol for the month. Drink a little less coffee. Limit the sweets and the carbs. Ooh, my Tors and Libras are yelling at me and turning it off now. But focus on your health.
