I gotta tell you, being a homeowner, there's so many things you have to think about all the time. For example, I have to replace my hoses every single year because they're weak, they get tangled, then there's kinks, then I found the pocket hose ballistic. This is the upgrade I've been looking for for a long time, man. It's reinforced with a liquid crystal polymer used in bulletproof vests. You know what that means? No kinks, it's not gonna get tangled. It also comes with this pocket pip.
Which gives you total freedom of movement. And the spigot has like a 360-degree rotation, which is pretty cool. There's also this upgraded UV coating they added for free, so your hose basically looks brand new all the time. Right now, when you get the new pocket hose ballistic, You'll get a free 360-degree rotating pocket pivot and a free thumb drive nozzle. Go to pockethose.com/slash podcast.

¶ Anticipation for Peggy's Artwork
It's not here yet then. Nope. Waiting out here won't make the lorry arrive any sooner, Justin. You're like a kid waiting for Santa Claus. Oh, I feel like it, Kirsty. Oh, I so want this artwork to meet expectations. I know what you mean. We want it to make a big impact, like Peggy did. Hmm, I can't wait to see it in position.
Well it's freezing out here. Well you could always help us prepare the ground by the entrance area. That'd warm you up. You you have checked the plans. It needs anchoring quite deeply. Yeah, about that. Rex thinks the plans are wrong. The dimensions don't make sense. What? I realise that's what Julie the artist sent you, but still Well well we'll find out the exact uh dimensions the minute the lorry arrives. True.
Oh, Rex invited the Echo again to the unveiling on Thursday, but still never spots. No, and they haven't even reprinted our press release. Which is a shame'cause it was very well written, if I say so myself. But without an image of the artwork. I did ask Julie to send one, but she seemed a little overstretched. Well, didn't you say she had a big spring exhibition somewhere? I wouldn't mind going. Where is it? Uh I haven't had time to ask her. What?
He spent hours discussing various designs with her. She's been remarkably patient about that. I did change direction once or twice. I'm the rest. Anyway, let's take photos the minute it's in position and get them straight to the echo. And bore such a life, but they definitely won't cover it. Oh Lillian has a contact there. I'll get her to drop them a line. Well at least it's gone down well on our socials. Well is this a lorry? Uh oh no, just a delivery van. Cad phone
¶ Akram's Challenging Start at Dairy
Sorry I wasn't here at Cram. Goodness. What are you doing? Susan, I've put the jugs and pots in order. Sorry? They were all higgledy-biggledy. Someone probably got them out of the dishwasher in a hurry. I got them out the dishwasher. Oh. But there were big ones next to small ones? Sorry. Shall I put them back? Although I'm not sure Oh no, no, don't bother O T
I do apologize. I was just keen to be productive while I waited for you and Helen to finish. She had to brief me on next week's orders for Borsitcher Blue, so I couldn't come any sooner. Of course, I didn't mean to imply. I I I'm I'm very excited to see what you do in here, how the dairy works. Right, well Helen says I'm to show you what we do and then you'll be back another time for hands-on training. So today you're watching, not doing.
Uh but I mean I'm happy to get stuck in. Well Helen wants you to see how everything works before you get stuck in. Okay, okay. Seeing as the bridge farm dairy is new to you. Yes, well I know more about goats than cows. But just so you know That shelf of jugs and pots wasn't heagledy piggledy. It was carefully arranged in order of use. Not size? No. Apologies again.
But I'm glad to say you've got the apron and coverings on correctly. The beard cover is a bit itchy. Helen bought them specially for you. And I'll get used to it very quickly, don't worry. Good. Forgive me, Susan. I feel like we're getting off on the wrong foot. I I I I I really didn't want that. Oh, don't worry. I expect we'll get used to each other. I mean, Adam took some getting used to, I can tell you. He thought he was top management to begin with, but in here, that's me, I'm afraid.
Helen then May, but we got on ever so well in the end. I miss working with him. Ah, and I'm taking Adam's job, aren't I? I promise I'll try to be just as useful. Oh heavens time is ticking. Right. Please watch carefully while I get this morning's order filled. I'll take notes if that's okay. So, the basic process with ice cream is organic milk goes in the pasteuriser there, and we add organic eggs.
A milk powder, sugar, cream and a stabiliser. Uh sorry. Uh this pen's not working. Oh right. Have you got any more? I'll find one for you, shall I? Yes, please. Oh dear.
¶ The Artwork's Disappointing Reality
Well, it's definitely from Julie, but here's the scissors. It's so well wrapped. Good job. We don't want anything damaged. Well I uh I wasn't expecting a lawyer, not a van. Sorry, I hope I'm not interrupting. Oh, not at all. Oh hi, David. I heard Peggy's artwork was arriving today and seeing as I was nearby Well, this has just arrived from the artists. Oh, okay.
What is it? Uh maybe the base or p some kind of information board. Oh bubble wrap. Let me help you. Oh cheers, David. No, no, don't worry. Ah, here we go. Oh. Lift it upright, can you? Let's put it on the path. Okay. Hold it there, Kirsty. That's it. Oh. Wow. Sunrise. How clever. Especially with the sunlight shining through the stained glass. Yeah. Just turn it a little curse stick. Oh that is a
Astonished. The artist Julie took some sections of a fallen oak from the rewilding. Oh, so it it's set in your own oak? How inventive. Indeed. Uh can I see it please? Sorry, sorry, you go thank you. Oh I see what you mean. It's exquisite. But sorry, Justin. Where's the rest of it?
¶ Susan's Family Issues and "Meal to Heal"
Lovely to see some winter sunshine, isn't it? Mmm. It is. Oh, it's parky though. Would you like one of these with your coffee? Oh, what are these? Mix Matai. Desserts really. Mini ones. Azra's friend bought them at the weekend. It's very kind of you. You know, I wasn't sure about uh uh Pakistani sweets back in the day, but my son Christopher's quite an addict. As am I. Mm
I wonder if we should stock these in the village shop. Oh no, please don't, Susan. I'll put on so much weight I'll get stuck in the doorway Good point, so meant to say. I hope the stock that's been left in the village hall hasn't got in your wah. You're using that room for prayers on a Friday, aren't you? While the mosque roof is being repaired, yes. It's been ideal. We really appreciate it. And no, the boxes in the corner are no problem at all. Oh good.
Bridge Farm, eh? Such a magnificent place to work. Yeah, Clary was always saying that. We worked here together for years. Suppose if I'm honest, I hope they get her back when Adam left. That's a shame. It really is. Oh look at Graham, I'm sorry if I seemed a bit distracted. I've got a lot on my mind but we do need to train you up just like we did Adam. So you can take over any extra orders, save pat spending afternoons there off and on and when there's so much else to do.
Farm is a pretty complex operation from what I have seen so far. Well it isn't the biggest farm round here, obviously, but it is the most entrepreneurial. Fascinating. Susan You mentioned you've got a lot on your mind. Is there anything I can do to help? Oh no, ignore my it's just We've got our grandson and his fiancee coming to tea tomorrow and I so want it to go well. It feels like a moment when we could Oh, I dunno, get back to where we should be. Where we want to be.
I thought it was going in the right direction, but then my toxic brother tried to unsettle him and to frighten us, which he did. Oh, I hate him. And I saw how easily George's head could be turned. I see. Whereas if we still had that bond with George like we used to your influence would prevail, you mean? Exactly. That'd help him make the right choices, wouldn't he?
It sounds like you need a meal to heal. A meal to heal? Well what's that? It's for when you welcome someone that you want to uh connect with better, if that makes sense. Oh, I think so. Here, let's head back inside and perhaps you could tell me more while I get on with the ice cream. Of course. Yeah, they've already built two dams across the brook. Hmm.
But where's their lodge? Do you know? Actually they've burrowed into the bank, so their home's more of a cosy little bank den. I I've just spoken to the um artist. And? Um well it seems there's been a miscommunication. Oh no. Yes, because somehow she had the... the wrong dimensions. You gave her them yourself. Uh yes, but it seems we had a different understanding. So this is the artwork. Yes. Peggy's artwork is a five foot slice of oak.
Uh with an exquisite stained glass sunrise set inside, yes. Rex and I spent ages finding the right spot for a much larger structure. We want it to be the first thing our visitors see. Can I ask? Did you spend Peggy's entire artwork budget on just this piece? Possibly. Oh, I get it. Julie's charged you more for changing your mind on the design a million times. Oh, I'm sorry, Justin, but Lillian, Kate, all of us agreed that the function of this artwork was to dominate our entrance.
Inspire visitors when they arrive. And that's what they're expecting us to unveil. In three days' time. Don't remind me. Look, I really do love it. It's just not big enough to make any impact. I don't think anyone will even notice it. Well, could we mount it on a platform or some kind of print? Uh no, that'd make it look smaller.
It's a shame there's only one, really. Well, yes. Yes, yes, I I see what you mean, but uh I mean it's a bit like this is a good start, but But but but a a second one would be very expensive, uh extortionist. Okay. So we'll have to cancel the unveiling. No no we can't do that, it's all arranged. People want to see something genuinely impressive here on Thursday.
And most of Peggy's family are coming. Including Lillian. Oh Lord help me. You need to fix this somehow, Justin. All right, all right. All right, I'll I'll drive over to the artist studio first thing tomorrow. And we make a final decision after that. We've got three days, Justin. Oh, we'll be a laughing stock. Oh honestly I wouldn't worry, Kirsty. A bad reaction from Lillian is a lot scarier than any public humiliation. I hope you're right.
And uh this is the next stitch? Yeah, we leave it in the pasteuriser to age for four hours. Very interesting. What do you mean about the different aspects of a meal? A meal to hail? The first thing is to focus on what you are going to eat. Choosing dishes that please the tastes of both parties, their preferred textures and so on. Oh, can I borrow some piper and need to jot this down? Of course. Any pain? If you can include some common rituals, that helps.
Things people are used to doing together in good times. sharing something or even passing plates. Sir, and keep the conversation warm and honest and uh and inclusive. So you're highlighting similarities in your shared experiences. Rather than any differences, I understand. Oh, this is perfect for tomorrow night with our George and his fiancee. It's common sense anyway. I hadn't thought of approaching it like this.
Anyway, I I think I'm due at the back house now to learn about bridge fresh, but uh thanks for showing me the dairy, Susan. I've I've learnt a lot. Oh no thank you for your ideas A meal to heal. I think we've both learned something to die. I'm glad you think so. Oh yes, I cram. I really do. The best B2B marketing gets wasted on the wrong people.
