That's one big bill. Continuing deportations of illegals. The bond from C-Sports. the day Biden's decline while in office a serious weather event news radio Good morning, it is Friday May 23rd, current time, 6068. Oh, Daryl, Daryl, Daryl. It is the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. The schedule is light all across the state. Most places no meetings whatsoever. Everybody's kind of checking out for the...

For the long, long weekend, what are your plans this weekend? Well, since I was a Memorial Day weekend, you know, a little bit of gathering things up around the house for the party, you know, for Monday and stuff. But I do believe... And this is going to sound really weird. A lot of people won't understand it.

But this weekend I am going to spend at least a couple of hours redoing my throwing blocks. I need to put new rounds up and new mounts. Basically I'm just going to take everything down from last year. and rebuild everything, put all new rounds on it, put it all back up, get it stabilized, because what used to be three foot diameter rounds are now about a foot. I've broken them down so far. And when we say throwing rounds, do we mean like axe throwing? Axes, hatchets, cleavers, knives, yeah.

It's a good exercise. It's a good tension reliever, stress reliever. And it's also very empowering. I have a lot of people who come over, particularly ladies. who like to throw it because it's very empowering to throw one of the cleavers or the axes. and that solid thunk stick to it the smile on their face and literally

They just literally stand up straight, their shoulders come back, they've just got this power feeling to them. I love it. I like to empower them, so. Oh, that's fantastic. Well, I will tell you, I think that's probably the last thing my husband wants me doing is throwing axes. But, no, that sounds like a good exercise, a fun thing to do. Absolutely. So that's not a whole lot of fun, but that's going to be the main thing. And then, of course, like I said, I've got a brining to do.

on Sunday, so for the smoking on Monday. Yeah. Oh, fantastic. Well, it looks like I'm looking right now at the weather report for The weekend, I mean, overall, it's going to be, it looks like it's going to be a really decent holiday weekend. Today is going to be a gorgeous day right now. Right now I'm looking at Fairbanks' high today. Fairbanks is supposed to hit 67 today. Wow. I'll tell you what, this morning, the sunrise...

It was a glorious golden globe gliding across the sky. It made my eyes glitter. It was just gorgeous. Oh, look at that. Look at that. Well, I will tell you, it's really, really nice out. It's right now, we're sitting at Little Chili's, 39.1 here in Palmer. Oh, wow. Yeah, what's your temp in Anchorage? I thought I was cold at 43 degrees. I'm like going, well, it's cold in here.

Yeah, the sunrise that I was watching was literally coming up over you over there. It was glorious, and I could actually see it on the mountains behind me. There's a pretty solid good sunrise going. Well, I suspect it's going to be very nice today. I think they're probably a little undershooting it here, but it says our high in Palm are supposed to be 61 today.

But then when I was looking at Big Lake's high, it says Big Lake's going to be 66. So my guess is it's going to be a little warmer than 61. But we'll see. We'll see. It's supposed to be really nice. Sunny and gorgeous. It's a little chilly on the Kenai, too. 39 degrees on the Kenai. Big Legs checking in right now at 43. Fairbanks at 40. But like I said, throughout the state of Alaska today, it looks like it's going to be relatively sunny.

warm most places approaching 60 degrees so it should be a really nice day today anyway so hopefully it'll be a good one I'm loving it. I'm not going to complain whatsoever. And as we look into their holiday weekend, let me just, here, let's pull up, let's pull up Kenai, shall we, for the weekend. As I'm looking through Saturday, Sunday, Monday, it looks like it's going to be partly sunny skies throughout the weekend down on the Kenai. High is mid to upper 50s.

And like I was saying, for those that are going to be traveling towards the Fairbanks area, as I'm looking at the Fairbanks weather, and it looks like Today is 67 or high, sunny. Tomorrow they might get a little bit of rain. It looks like Fairbanks is the one spot in the state where they might get a little bit of rain Saturday, Sunday too. But it looks like it gets nicer as you get into the weekend. Sunday, Monday looks a little bit better.

But all in all, you know, we're looking mid-60s in Fairbanks. Not bad. Not bad at all. I mean, you can't complain about that. Oh, man. Beautiful. Beautiful. So there we have it. But it's going to be a nice weekend. I don't know what to say. It's going to be beautiful. So I'm very excited. I'm not going anywhere this weekend. I'm staying home in the Palmer area. It'll be great to just kind of catch up on some things around the house.

That's what we're going to be doing. I'd follow George around. That's what I'd do. I'd go out there and wander around with George hanging with him and stuff. That thing is amazing. As I'm walking in here, here he is out in the front yard just tootling back and forth, just mowing my grass. I will tell you, it's been so much fun this week at work. You know, obviously I work at the Senior Center.

And I've showed a few people the video, and it's, you know, one woman was so sweet. She's like, I am 84 years old. And she was just laughing. She's like, never in my life. did I even imagine that they would have robots that could cut your grass like she was so and she just was tickled pink over it she just she watched all the videos and she just laughed and laughed she thought it was hilarious I'm like I

I said, I don't even know what they're going to think of it. You know, by the time I'm 84, can you even, I can't even imagine the changes. I mean, you think back on your childhood, and everybody's thinking right now, and I remember, like, I remember having a black and white TV as a kid. Actually, when I was a teenager, I got to have a little tiny 12-inch black and white TV in my bedroom. I remember those.

I remember Betamax. You know, I remember when the microwave, we actually got our very first microwave at our house. The radar range? Yeah. That was like a big deal. It was like, and now kids can't even imagine living without a microwave. I remember rotary telephones, you know. You know, I remember my parents' first cell phone. They got their first cell phone when I was a senior in high school, and it was like a big brick, you know.

I know for me, a lot of things that were like the dreams when we were kids are actually coming to reality. I mean, virtual reality gaming, that was something that we were promised And up until about 10 years ago, it was like they're never going to get it. It is now awesome what they've got. Just so many things that literally are cartoons, you know, and the fabulous things that you could have.

And like you said, I couldn't imagine that woman who was saying that from the 40s and the things that we've got now, it's got to be mind-boggling. I know my dad was constantly saying things like that, and he was from the 30s.

But yeah, with us, I had the exact same thought as you. I can't even imagine what we're going to have out there. We're going to have the cybernetics where you control things with your brain and stuff. Oh, wait, they've already got that. Next. Yeah, I was going to say, thanks to Elon. We already have that, don't we? Oh, they're more using it now. I'm telling you, it's amazing. It's amazing the technology we've seen develop just in our lifetimes alone.

It's kind of fun to see, but when I got up this morning, I looked out on the lawn, and there's George out there mowing the lawn. Judea Elijah was cracking me up last night. Because we were going back and forth on Facebook, you know. I just don't get offended. And so there were some colorful jabs being thrown my way. And I told her, I said, Judy, embrace your inner Elon. I said, you graduated from the rotary phone to a cell phone. Get one. Do it.

Oh, absolutely. I don't have a big enough yard for it, so it would look really funny going around really fast in my yard. But no, it's what you got out there. You might add a kite to it also. I'm always thinking of things that we can add to George and make it fun. Put it so he flies a kite so if they don't see him in the yard...

They see this kite moving around your yard and be like, what's that? What? I love it. I love it. All right. Well, let's see here. Let's go to the phones. And Tom is with us already this morning. So let's see Tom this morning. Good morning, sir. Hey, Missy. Thank you for taking my call. Hey, good morning. Yeah. You know, to be nostalgic, you know, when we were kids and you and I are the same age group, same with Daryl. Oh, gosh. Remember Nintendo? Oh, yeah!

I absolutely, I remember Nintendo. Like, I sat there for a whole week during the summer. You told me that. Yep, and I played Contra until I finished it. Yep. And you didn't even know that she's code. I did not. I did it the legit way. See, I remember Temco Bowl, and I also remember Atari, the original Ataris. I even remember the standalone. At one time, I had what they called Exciterbike.

And literally the console was a motorcycle handlebars, like motocross handlebars, where you had gas and you had brakes. And on your screen you watched you go around a circle track and you just gas and brake. That was one of my favorites growing up. Oh, cool. It was cool. Very cool. It's kind of funny. You know, between the three of us, it was the best of times.

And, well, it was the best of times. I agree. There was no worse of times there. I mean, there was a few things that made you scratch your head and go, but it was the best of times. No, no, no. And, like, so, like, you know, we were in a mixed-race community. We were ours, you know. You had the white kids, you had the black kids, you had the native kids, you had, you know, the Asian kids. But we didn't see that. We saw them for who they were.

Yeah, kids were kids. Look, I grew up, my dad was military, so we kind of grew up all over the world and it was always, you know, very, very I would say integrated. I don't know if that's the right word to use, but I mean, it didn't matter. Kids were just kids. I had great experiences traveling, meeting people. I had older brothers, so I was definitely the tomboy of the group. I grew up building forks, catching snakes.

You know, shooting each other with BB guns. Real quick, Amy and Daryl, all-time favorite songs. I don't know that I have an all-time favorite song. Def Leppard rock you like a hurricane. Oh, see, I love, see, and my, I immediately. Scorpions drop you like a hurricane. My bad to all of the Def Leppard people out there. Well, I immediately was going to Def Leppard somewhere. Go ahead. Go ahead, Tom. The cure. Friday, my love. The cure. Nice. Nice.

He's a Cure fan. He's a Cure fan. Well, Tom, I hope you have an awesome Memorial Day weekend. Keep it safe, my friend. I already have. Just need more work. All right, all right. All right, thank you so much. We're going to take a quick break. When we come back, we will continue to take your calls. This is Freeform Friday.

So if you'd like to call in, be part of the show. The number to call, 522-0650. Looking at those Alaska total traffic cameras for this Friday morning. Traffic is light inbound on the Glen Highway. Not seeing any major stoppages or slowdowns out there. In town, traffic is looking good. Also, from your Swickard Chevrolet Anchorage Traffic Studios, I'm Daryl Dean. This report is sponsored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving. For victims of drunk and drug driving, our grief is unique.

But you are not alone. You always have a place. Warm building in across the region. We'll make a run near 60 today with the chance we could see some thunderstorm development through the weekend as temperatures warm. For Alaska's weather source, I'm meteorologist Irmorson. on News Radio. Welcome back. We're at Time 622 on this Friday morning. We're going to go to the phones and Randy is with us. Good morning, sir.

Good morning, and happy Friday to you and Daryl. Thank you, same to you. But just a little comments and stuff. Last person, I wouldn't say last person, but one of the last two people was drafted. I'm so glad I went to the service. But that being said, I'm being very... for the individuals under my command, but you don't say under your command. They're all people with your teammates. They have passed down from one way or the other. Even though you're sure and you get out and pass on the call.

for some reason, like Agent R, because I was in BC. HRRs, people passing on HRRs before the VA recognized HRRs or something like that. But I really appreciate you serving, you volunteer, and all other individuals who volunteer for this service. It was said to President Reagan, all of us who served and passed on for the country. This is what Memorial Day is for those individuals. the alchemist sacrificed for us and our freedom to be able to have hot dogs and hamburgers on that day.

You were right about that here. You're absolutely right, wouldn't you? If you stick with me for the show today, anybody who has listened to me for any number of years knows on Memorial Day, I always do a special tribute. And Daryl and I have that all prepped up for the end of the show. When we get to our last half hour, they're around 7.35, that segment. We have something special that every single Memorial Day I play because it is a reminder.

that the reason for this holiday is a special and somber reminder of those that have died for their country. And, you know, Randy, you started out the show just exactly the way. I think we need to do it, and we will close it out the same way, which is with a reminder and gratitude, real true gratitude for those that came before us and were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.

So thank you for that. You're most welcome. And, uh, my favorite song is from, uh, is from, uh, Nice and White Sutton from The Moody Goes. Yeah, that is a great song, just so you know. I'm an old man. All right. Well, I love it. Well, safe RVing. You should have a beautiful weekend. It looks like it's going to be a great weekend. And tell your lovely wife, Susan, I said hello.

All right. Thank you so much for the call this morning. Daryl, so when we talk about favorite songs, you know, here's my thing. I guess it's the season of life you're in which one becomes your favorite. Right? Because when I was a kid, and I think about it, like, Def Leppard was my jam. Right? That was, I was, go-to was Def Leppard. I was a big, give me any rock 80s, white snake, white lion.

You know, all of those scripts, like, I loved them all, but Jeff Leppard was, like, by and far my favorite. You know, as I got older, much older, I gotta be honest with you, I went through this phase where I was really digging some Miranda Lambert. Have you ever heard the song Gunpowder and Lead? I actually think I have heard... And I know who Miranda Lambert is, definitely. Like I said, I've got her blonde, big hair in my head. Yeah, yeah. I was going to say, she's spicy. But, you know,

As I got older, I really tended towards country music. So I tend to, that's what I like now. You know, I mean, you can't throw on Def Leppard and I'm not jamming out, but. I like, you know, I'm a country music fan now, you know, since I got older. See, I'm kind of weird. I'm a crazy old guy because

So, as I said, 80s, I was definitely rock and roll Def Leppard, right in the metal movement and all of that kind of stuff. But prior to that, my listening was things like the Kingston Trio, Mamas and the Papas. What else? I mean, just, I like, I also like hokey folktale stuff. I'm trying to think of the guy who does North to Alaska. Johnny Horton. I love Johnny Horton. It was things I could sing along with, so I love that.

And then after that, now that I'm old, I'm using it with air quotes, I like things like drum and bass and heavy bass and just this electronic music that makes people stop because It's not just the music, but what they do a lot of these guys now, the DJs, is they take songs from our era or earlier songs. and they break them up and add heavy bass music to it and stuff like that. And so I can sing my song, but I can also get this thrumming bass. I like, well,

I like loud music. What can I say? Nice, nice. No, I think that's great. Well, you know. So going down the nostalgic path is always fun to do because, you know, look, we've got to stop and take a breath. I know we've had some heavy shows over the last couple of weeks and real important topics that we're discussing. You know, we're going to continue that today. Oh, boy. See, for those that listened today, we got...

I got some gossip for you. I have triggered some. Like, I'm living red and free in people's kitchen. And it is entertaining as all get out. But before we get to that... I want to make a quick announcement. I will just say, The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities. We used to call it just DOT. Now they call it DOT PNF.

in public facilities. I know, Daryl's eyes just scrolled. But DOT has done just a sensational job on the Kinnick River Bridge construction project. I mean, really have done a sensational job. And I was just having a taco about this with one of my friends yesterday. As we go through, I've been driving this twice a day, five days a week, zero issue. In rush hour, outside of rush hour, sometimes three times a day if I have to go home for something.

And they just have it down to a science where they are moving these cars and they've been able to fix the first fridge. And they put an announcement out. This was amazing. This is coming from Alaska News Source. Kinnick River Bridge opens over Memorial Day weekend despite major construction projects. It was expected to be a major headache for commuters from the Mat-Su, but so far, major bridge reconstruction project on the Glen Highway has gone more smoothly than anticipated.

Here's a quote. It says, with the amount of traffic on these bridges, we really tried to prepare for the worst case scenario, but thankfully that has not happened. That's coming from the operation manager of DOT. Workers have spent a month making repairs to the northbound bridge over there on the Kinnick River. It says by Thursday morning, they were finishing up the last of the concrete pour so the bridge could reopen to commuters early Friday morning. Now, see, I've got to give you this.

Before this all started, I definitely was a major pessimist, was expecting some major snafus, tie-ups. They proved me wrong. I will give them kudos for that. I will admit that I was completely wrong on how that was going to turn out.

But being the person that I am and that is that I'm an optimist in the worst of times and a pessimist in the best I do know that they are not done with construction. This is just the first phase So kudos the first phase came off great. They're gonna switch to the other side It came down to that zipper thing that they have. You know, the concrete barriers, and any of us who've been driving through there have been amazed watching this thing in action. It has really been great.

But, you know, their whole plan was to work on one bridge and then flip over, and then they'll work on the other bridge, and they wanted to have it all reopened and done by the time of the Alaska State Fair. Now, I don't know if the same repairs are required on both bridges. You might have one that's in more deterioration than the other. I don't know that. But, I mean, I saw how fast they got this one done, and I'm thinking, man.

Are they going to be done the other bridge by 4th of July? Who knows? Maybe. But the traffic patterns have been fantastic. I mean, they really have done a really good job of managing the traffic. I mean...

you slow down just a little bit. Like, as you come up to the bridge, you go 65, 55, 45. As soon as you're over the bridge, bam, back up to 65. I mean, It's really just a limited area and it's really... been very little so very little impact on traffic and I was I was amazed that they could fit three lanes of traffic on those bridges I mean I was amazed I kept looking at that going like how is this going to work

And it is, you feel a little snug when you're in the one lane going the opposite direction, because I've done that a few times. You know, just don't look, just look straight ahead. Don't look over the edge, just look straight ahead. But DOT has just done a remarkable job, so those that are going to be traveling

Today, maybe you're leaving town early to go camping or head north or whatever. Don't worry about the traffic coming this way because, I mean, even without the bridge being opened, they're saying this morning they're expecting that bridge to be back, the northbound bridge to be reopened. But even without it, I mean, they've done just a remarkable job.

them getting it open by this weekend with all the travel is phenomenal. I know. There's no worries for all those people who are going to be heading up north, like you said, going up to recreate and things like that. Kudos. He said kudos to D.O.T. and whoever their contractor is, because it's not just DOT, it's whoever their contractor is, I'm surprised, man. Let's just say,

Can we have them go look at the mistake just up around the corner at Mirror Lake? I'm just saying. They're doing a great job, and any time we get to do an attaboy, we should do it. You know, it is... You know, moving, last I heard there were something like 30,000 cars a day that commute into Anchorage. That's a lot of cars. Oh, yeah. And the fact that they're able to seamlessly move this many cars with this massive of a construction project.

What a sensational job they've done, so congratulations to them. All right, we're going to go ahead and take a quick break when we come back. Should we get into a little bit of Alaska drama? Should we? Should we? I might trigger a few folks. I just might. It may happen. I think I already did that yesterday, but we'll tell you about it when we come back.

Anchorage is set to pay over $2 million to the family of a teenage girl shot to death by police inside her own home. Mayor Suzanne LaFrance announced yesterday the municipality has reached a settlement with the family of 16-year-old Easter Leafa for $2.11 million. Officer Alexander Roman shot and killed Leafa last August while responding to a 911 call from family members saying she was threatening her sister with a knife.

Health officials are confirming a case of measles in Anchorage. The Alaska Department of Health says a minor in South Anchorage tested positive for the deadly disease on Wednesday. The patient was not vaccinated. And a talent agent and manager of an Alaska business is among those killed in Thursday morning's plane crash in San Diego. Dave Shapiro

Shapiro was owner and co-founder of California-based Sound Talent Group, which confirmed his death. Shapiro was a licensed pilot, and the plane was registered to Deviator LLC in Homer. Deviator is registered to Shapiro, whose pilot registration lists an address in Homer. That's the latest. I'm John Fink.

What happens next, happens here. News Radio 650 KENI. Looking at those Alaska total traffic cameras for this Friday morning. Traffic is light inbound on the Glen Highway. Not seeing any major stoppages or slowdowns out there. In town, traffic is looking... Welcome back. We're in time 6.40 on this Friday morning. Oh, Daryl, I don't know what to tell you. Sometimes I just get tickled pink, and I can't even help myself. See, here's the thing. If you don't like me...

I'm okay with that. I'm literally okay with that. And the fact that I get to live rent-free in some people's heads, like, it makes me laugh. Like, I just don't care. You can call me names. I don't care. It doesn't matter to me. What so ever. But when I start to see liberal bloggers posting about me, I just crack up. Because yesterday, okay, I'm going to read you this post. So we haven't heard from them in quite a while.

But there was this blogger for a long time. Nobody knew who it was. It was called The Blue Alaskan. And it was a great mystery. Everybody's like, who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Who is this? Well... The reporting indicates it turned out to be Matthew Beck. He was a Republican Matsuburo Assembly member, kind of of the Lisa Murkowski ilk. That's what was reported. Now, is he still it? I don't know. I'm being told he is. I don't really care. Doesn't matter to me.

But yesterday I was dying because a friend of mine screenshotted something and sent it to me. And I just started, I just laughed because I, you know, okay, I'm just going to read it to you. Hang on. I screenshotted so many conversations yesterday because these legislators are going crazy. It's hilarious. Okay. So yesterday, I'm just getting done work. I'm coming home. And one of my friends screenshots me a picture of myself. on this liberal blog and on the picture

What did I just do to this picture? Am I going to read it? Okay, this is what it says. This is what it says. During an especially deranged segment of her radio show, Amy Domboski threatened to send tampons to Senator Bill Wilkowski. Barked that Senator Rob Yunt is a dog who needs to be leashed and branded Senator Jesse Bjorkman a traitor. The Amy Domboski Show. Anger radio for people who think Must Read Alaska has gone soft. Wow.

This is the greatest. And I sent it to Daryl. And I was dying laughing when I sent it to him. Because I thought this is the greatest. Because what did I say, Daryl? I was like, oh, man. If only they would have put in my favorite line of the show, which was, if they clearly weren't listening in the 6 o'clock hour, when I said,

And I prefaced all of this by saying, I actually really like Rob Yant, but it doesn't mean I'm not going to razz you, and I'm a trash talker. If you can't take that, you know, you're in the wrong business. But my favorite line was when I said, you know, here's the reality. Rob Yunt is Bill Wilikowski and Zach Fields' little female dog this session. And I think he's the only one who doesn't see it.

How did that not make the post, Daryl? The guy was so shocked and surprised by it he just didn't know what to do. Maybe he didn't get it. I don't know. But I think it was funny. Like, I think I'm hilarious, to be honest with you. And I see this post and I'm like... So seriously, like seriously, like, but you know, when I see these posts, you know what? It reminds me of Mr. Back. Mr. Back, you know what it tells me? Thank you for listening. Ha!

I gotta tell you, I'm the, I'm the, you just can't troll me because I think it's hilarious. And it's the broad reach of Amy and I gotta let you know Amy, I thought I had a problem with my computer this morning with my screen. because like my RBG I thought was totally off because you are pink this morning you were tickled pink and I didn't know it so it showed up on the screens and yeah when I saw that I just cracked up because it's like

Hello to all the liberals, progressives, and Democrats out there. Yes, we do like you listening. Oh, no, don't spit your coffee out. It's okay. We're just breaking the fourth wall here for a second. Totally fine. Well, and you know, here's the thing. And anybody who listens to the show for any amount of time knows I'm actually a very positive person.

But you know what I'm not going to do? I'm not going to sit here and BS the listeners. I'm going to tell you what I think, and we're going to cut through the fluff, and we're going to get to the brass tacks of the issues, and we're going to tell you what's happening behind the scenes. That's what we're gonna do!

And if people can't handle that, this ain't the show for you. I'm just telling you. If you want to have real conversations, we'll have them. And we're not afraid of people who are going to call in and disagree with us. That's why. Oh, the other thing I did. Okay, so. So that happened last night. So then I had to, I just, Daryl, this, I, sometimes, you know, you know, I call it a brain grenade. WHEN You say something, and a little while later people were like, Wait, what? What?

Boom, it goes off, right? Exactly. And sometimes a brain grenade can be a question. Sometimes a brain grenade can be a statement, you know. But last night I made a, you know, we've been talking a lot about leadership this week. You know, and the absolute abysmal leadership we've seen, you know, on the Republican side this legislative session. Now, I'm not saying there aren't some that have demonstrated leadership. Of course there aren't.

There's some legislators that have absolutely been rock solid. We have not had to. We have not had to babysit. They've gone down there. They know what they think. They know what their constituents want. And they follow through. And then there's the others. There's the others. Look, and there's no question. If you are my friend, or you are a candidate that I have supported in the past, and you have told me you are a fiscal conservative, and then you go down to Juneau and you vote like a Democrat,

You better bet. You better bet that I'm going to say something. Because here's the thing. I hold you to a higher standard than a big spending Democrat. And I think a lot of your constituents do, too. So, last night, you know, I'm thinking about leadership. And I'm thinking about it, you know, and I'm like, okay, so what have we had in the past couple, in the past few weeks? We've had an Alaska legislature that passes a resolution poking Trump in the eyes, basically siding with Canada.

over the U.S. on tariffs Now, I know some legislators tried to put some language in there to soften it, but at the end of the day, the perception by the public was, what the heck are you doing? Alaska legislature, we have a president who's basically giving us all these opportunities on a golden platter, and what do we do? We poke him in the eye and we basically say, Canada, we're with you. That was a bad idea.

Then I think about them passing HB 57, this massive spending bill that has no real accountability in there or real education reforms that are going to substantively matter, in my opinion. And then the governor vetoes it, and then they override the veto, and then they also pass a new online digital tax. So I'm thinking of all these things together, and it dawns on me, Daryl, I don't remember seeing...

Any statement put out by the Republican Party chair on this issue. So I think, hmm, maybe I missed it. So I put a post up on Facebook. I don't know, 9, 10 o'clock last night. It was pretty late. It was past my bedtime. Let's put it that way. And it has taken off on social media. We have legislators fighting with each other on this thread. It is sensational. And all I said was, has anyone seen a public statement from the AK GOP chair on the vote to cut the PFD by $2,800?

override the governor's veto of HB 57 or any statement on the legislature voting for a new online tax. I must have missed it. That's all I said. That's all I said because look, I'm leaving the door open. That maybe a public statement has happened and I haven't seen it. Did you check your junk box? Your trash box? Because AI is getting pretty good about picking these things out while reading this. Oh, that's trash. I'm just throwing it over there. I gotta be honest with you, the comments...

In this thread, oh, they are worthy. They are worthy. I have, look. I have never had a conversation with Jeremy Bynum a day in my life, but he's weighed in on this. Julie Cologne's weighed in on this thread. Jamie Allers weighed in on this thread. I will tell you.

This went in a direction. I wasn't sure it was going to go in, but it is entertaining. We're going to take a quick break. When we come back, we'll take your calls, 522-0650. Looking at those Alaska total traffic cameras for this Friday morning.

Traffic is light inbound on the Benton Highway, not seeing any major stoppages or slowdowns. We're 60 today with the chance we could see some thunderstorm development through the weekend as temperatures warm. For Alaska's weather source, I'm a meteorologist. Welcome back. Current time is 6.53. Well, I've done it. I've triggered legislators, party insiders. and the like with just asking a simple question. Basically, where's the leadership?

Where's the leadership in the Republican Party? I think it's a fair question, personally. All right, let's go to the phones. And Roland is with us. Good morning, sir. Good morning. You know, we look at the Democrats and the big, beautiful bill that just passed. Yes, there's some problems with it. But what's amazing is the Democrats voted it in a block. And who were the people that didn't? Republicans. And we have to worry about whipping our people into doing things that are right.

Granted, we would like some more different things in that bill, but it's... You gotta vote for the good. You know, and I will say, when you look at the federal level, Roland versus the state level, Mike Johnson was able to keep his caucus. At least he was able to get the votes to get it passed. It may have been by one vote, but he lost a couple, right? He lost a couple. But the reality is, that's

That's leadership to be able to get it over the line. Where's the leadership at the state level? I mean, like you said with that Friday thing that she did, you know and I know that she lied. She knew what was going on. And she could have done some parliamentary things to stop that vote from happening.

Yeah, Mia Costello. No, she didn't. And here's the thing that irritates me. I have five different sources, not one, not two, five different sources that tell me she admitted to her caucus that she knew... the morning and then she comes on the radio and she says, oh, you know, I'm like, I just, look, I don't believe you. Like, I just don't believe you. And this is my point. You had the minority leader for the Republicans vote to override the government.

Republican governor's veto of a massive spending bill. There is the problem. You know, and the thing is, to me, I know somebody said that you can't kick somebody out of the Democratic Party. To me, I'm sorry, you should be censored and you should be kicked out of the Republican Party if you cannot vote like a Republican.

Look, I'm with you. I got to tell you, this next Central Committee, I'm sure is going to be on the hook, off the hook, I mean. We have a Republican Party-like leadership, so every district chair and bonus vote from every district in the Republican Party gets together four times a year.

have a meeting coming up on June 7th. And I am telling you right now, there's a lot of districts across the state that have censured Lisa Murkowski, that are censuring Gary Stevens, that are moving towards these things. And I'm telling you, there's a lot of district chairs that I've been talking to that

that are done. They are like, okay, they're taking action. And, you know, what do you do when you have a district that says, nope, we like our legislator. We had this issue come up with one of the Republican districts talking about Louise Stoops, right? Nope, she's doing a great job. It's like, are you kidding me? She put Democrats in charge. But your frustration is at on deaf ears with some of these legislators to our faces! Well, I hear you. Challenges out!

Fetterman was fine when he was crazy and everything. And no, no, no, we need to get rid of this guy because... You're absolutely right. Alright, I'm hitting my heartbreak. I'm going to take a quick break. I'll This is Attorney James Croson, founder of Croson Law. Even if we don't handle it. If you Welcome back to Hour 2 of the Amy Domboski Show, broadcasting live and local every weekday morning from 6 to 8 a.m. right here on 6.50 a.m. We will not be here on Monday. Monday is a holiday.

So we won't be here coming up on Memorial Day, but we will be back with you on Tuesday. I have to tell you, Daryl, this is hilarious. I really have triggered some legislators here and I've triggered some party officials because I put up on my post last night on Facebook a very simple question. Has anyone seen a statement from the Alaska GOP chair on the vote to cut the PFD by $2,800, override the governor's veto of HB 57, or any statement on the legislature voting for a new online tax?

I must have missed it. That's all I said, right? And the party insiders are coming to the defense, and legislators are triggered, and they're jumping on there, and they're like, but educational reform, again. We've dissected this bill. We've gone through the bill. We've read you the bill. And here's the reality. Weakness And lack of leadership breeds chaos. And that's exactly what we saw in this year's legislative session.

that big, the bill that they passed through there that, you know, has got everything that the governor wanted or everything that we needed. It's got everything in there. At least most of it. It's so amazing. At least most of it. Remember we were told that we needed to read that bill? We obviously couldn't read it. Yeah, yeah, Young said if you didn't agree with him, you didn't read the bill, and if you read it, you clearly don't know how to read. So my thing is, is, wait a second.

I've read it many, many times now. We've gone over, we've dissected it, and what we've determined is, is Some people out there actually have a problem with reading comprehension. They may be actually able to read it, but the comprehension of what the words may and will and several other... May and shall. May and shall. May and shall. And also thousands of... Uh, how much they actually, their math also, you know, uh, .008?

That's really not anything. I'm telling you, look, look, here, we've gone through this many times. I'm telling you, Daryl. I have friends weighing in now on this Facebook post reading these. Now we have legislators debating each other, and it's more like one-line singers that are going on. I've got to tell you, I'm digging it. Jamie Allard.

Oh, I've got to be honest with you. This is hilarious. Jamie Allard posts on here. Julie Colon, please don't ride on my coattails or try to convince people you align with the Republican platform. No one should drink in post. That's me. I stay away from it. I gotta be honest with you. This is getting good. Alright.

All right, well, I'm going to one of my friends here who I always know how he's going to vote. He serves on the Anchorage Assembly. It is Scott Meyer. He is from Eagle River. Scott, do you want to start with your... Oh, let's see if I can pull out. I'm having trouble with my phone. Can you just put them on live for me? It looks like I'm having problems with the phone also, Gary.

Okay, hang on. Don't reset it yet. Let's write down who's on each line. We have Ilona. Our lines are completely full and we're starting to have a little bit of phone issues. Nobody hang up yet. Hang on. Alright. Four is John. Five is

Scott, okay. I'm going to turn my phones off. We're going to come back to you in just a second. Don't go anywhere. All right. I'm going to turn my phones off, Daryl. If you turn yours back on, we'll see what happens here. I'm going to say I'm rebooting mine up, too, because I was completely locked up on my end. Yeah. We aren't able to get you. Oh, oh, that's not good. Yeah, it looks like my whole side there just

I'm going to do a reboot, so everybody give me three minutes and then call me back. All right, all right. So we'll go to Scott in just a second. So there's some announcements that are going to be coming. And let me start by saying this. legislators can't campaign when they're in office, right? Well, when I say legislators, literally legislators, you're not allowed to campaign while you're in office. But what have we seen? The moment they gaveled out,

I saw a huge list of people that have jumped in and filed their declare to run for re-election. So the big move that we're seeing right now is in the Kodiak, Homer kind of area. Gary Stevens is indicating he is not going to run for re-election. Louise Stoots has filed a letter of intent to run for re-election.

And so we'll see. Now, this is going to be an interesting one for Homer folks because Sarah Vance has also filed a letter of intent, but she didn't indicate which office she's running for, if she's running for the House. or if she's running for the Senate. My guess is she's probably running for the Senate because Suzanne Downing has an article out that says two candidates jump in for open Kodiak House seat, one Democrat NEA officer, one Republican who works for Vice President J.D. Vance.

So, this according to Must Read Alaska, two Kodiak residents have now filed for Stutes' House seat. That's Catherine Simpler, a Democrat from Kodiak, and Sheldon Prout, a Republican. Of course I just told you Stutes is going to be running for the Senate. So that'll be an interesting race because you have two basically incumbents, one Stutes, one Zara Vance, that we're expecting to go head-to-head for that Senate seat. But now...

Stutz's seat, you have, you know, an NEA person themselves. It says Simpler. That's her last name. The Democrat who jumped into the race is a union activist for the National Education Association where she has listed As a, quote, representative on the NEA board of directors, the top decision-making body of our national affiliate, which includes at least one director from each state affiliate, end quote. So you have this hardcore...

a union activist versus a Republican in that student seat. So we'll see how it turns out. I'm not sure how this is going to turn out, but You know, we'll see. We'll see. I will tell you, but we're starting to see a lot of other letter of intent filed, so let me just run through the list here really quick. We also have Robin Burke. She has filed for re-election. Jeremy Bynum has filed. Maxine Divert. Ted Eichen. Elise Galvin. Carolyn Hall. Sarah Hannon, Rebecca Hemshoot,

Donna Mears, Genevieve Mina, Sheldon Prout, Sydney Scout. That's what we were just talking about. Sydney's going to run for the Anchorage Municipal election. Not the state. The rest of these are all state primaries. Catherine Simpler, which we just talked about. Louise Stutes and Sarah Vance. So there you have it. I mean, the reality is a lot of these people are going to jump into these races.

And we're starting to see the movement. So, look, here's the thing. There's another announcement. If I can get my phones working, I think we'll go ahead and take a quick commercial here in just a second. But if I can get my phones working. There's another big announcement that just popped, and I will tell you, it is going to shake up some. and hopefully maybe introduce a little bit of common sense to others.

So we'll see. We'll see what happens. But it's going to be a very interesting 2026 election cycle. But as these legislators come home, You know, there's gonna be some real conversations to be had. Because some of these legislators, look, they talk a tough game when they're down in Juneau. They're hanging out with each other. They're drinking. A lot of drinking happens in Juneau. I don't know if you know this, but a lot of drinking happens in Juneau.

A lot of drinking happens in Juneau. But the reality is, They talk a tough game when they're down there drinking with their buddies, but then they come back to your face and they're like, oh, yes, oh, yes. And then behind the scenes, they're saying to each other, yeah, we're going to do whatever we want anyway. Really? I SAY GAME ON!

That's what I say. All right. So we're able to reboot our phones here, but we're right at the break mark. So we're going to take a quick break. When we come back, we're going to go directly to the phones. So hang with us because you're not going to want to miss this announcement. Stay with us. We'll be right back.

We'll make a run near 60 today with the chance we could see some thunderstorm development through the weekend as temperatures warm. For Alaska's weather source, I'm meteorologist Aaron Morrison. Local and always on News Radio. Welcome back. Our time is 718. We have got our phones successfully reset. So now we're going to go to the phones and we're being joined by my friend Scott Myers who currently...

Serves on the Anchorage Assembly representing Chugiak Eagle River. Scott, do you want to start with your disclosure, please? Good morning, Amy. Good morning, Daryl. Yes, I will say that I am calling on behalf of myself, not any position that I currently hold on the Anchorage Assembly, not speaking on behalf of the body. Speaking on behalf of me, a resident of Chugiak and Eagle River, Well, I gotta tell you, Scott.

You know, I do this often, especially right after the legislature gets out of session. I keep hitting refresh on this letter of intent with APOC. And I will tell you, I think I'm the first one to see it. I saw your name on that list. Well, I've been getting more and more irritated, it seems like, by votes that I'm seeing happen in Juneau. Um,

I'm not sure. I'm just toying with the idea. But if I toy with the idea, I have to file. So I've had a lot of people ask and request and say, hey, would you be interested in going to Juneau? To be frank, I'm not interested in going to Juneau. I would hope that the Republicans that we elect to go to Juneau would do their job and would vote with the party. But it seems more and more they're not. I will give credit to Jamie, Madam Allard.

She's voted where she should be, where her constituents ask her to vote, and she's doing the right thing. There's two other folks in this area that are not, and I'm a little disappointed in their votes, and I think we all saw that loud and clear this week. And to comment further on what you said with the party.

Where are we at with the party chair? I haven't seen anything come out from the Republicans. I've seen the women's groups come out. I've seen maybe some young professionals come out. I haven't seen anybody else. You know, and that's my issue. Like, here's the thing. Lack of leadership breeds chaos. And that's exactly what we're seeing in the Alaska legislature this year. You know, I wish the governor would be more vocal.

I wish the party chair would be more vocal, and I wish the minority leader could be trustworthy and didn't team up with Chuck Kopp and Bryce Edgeman in order to screw over Republicans. I mean, I'm at that point where, look, I hold you to a higher standard than I do the Democrats if you're a Republican lawmaker. And especially when you convince me that you're a fiscal conservative, and then you turn around and you act like this. I mean, I've got to be honest with you, Scott.

You know, I've been saying it on the air, and I've been getting told, Amy, you're just so mean. Accountability is not being mean. If you're in public office, I mean, you've owned all your votes, have you not? Absolutely. And, you know, our Republican Party in Alaska actually reminds me of the Democratic Party nationally. They're in complete chaos right now and melting down. And that's where we're at here. You have how many of them?

A third of them that are acting the way they should be to the Republican values. Yep, yep. Well, when you think about this, just put it in perspective this way, because some are trying to add in, like, more Republicans voted to override the governor than didn't. Well, let me put it to you this way. When you look at the minority caucus in the House, There's 19 members of the minority caucus.

Eleven of those members voted to uphold the governor's veto. Only nine of them teamed up with the Democrats. in order to override the governor's veto of a massive $200 million spending bill, right? Exactly. It's semantics, the way they're trying to spin it and cover for themselves.

You know, we all know what this is about. We all know this is about the 2026 election. We all know it's about them trying to neutralize the NEA and trying to be told that they hate kids, right? And we've discussed this before. They're never going to vote for you. They're never going to back you. Exactly.

Exactly. Well, I will tell you this, Scott, and I will say this right now loud and proud. If you choose to run for the legislature, you have filed a letter of intent. If you choose to run from the legislature, 100% I'm all in. I know you. It took me 10 years to convince you to run for the Anchorage Assembly. But you know what? The reality is I don't have to worry about how you're going to vote. Ever. It did take you a long time to convince, and you finally got your way.

I'm telling you, you know, and once you get sucked in and people see that you do a good job, you know, that's what we want. We just want legislators that are going to do what they say they're going to do when they ask for our vote. You know, I look forward to it. Well, my friend, thank you so much for calling in. I hope you have a good, safe Memorial Day weekend. All right, sounds good.

All right, bye-bye. All right, that's Scott Meyer. He has filed his letter of intent. We will see what happens, but look, and what does that mean? More than likely, Dan Sadler, I would be paying attention because Dan Sadler voted to override the governor's veto too. And Scott is now in Dan Sadler's district. So I'm just throwing it out there. We could have a very interesting race coming up in Chugack Eagle River in 2026. All right, let's go to Miss Marie. Good morning. Oops, I'm sorry, hold on.

Are you there? I am there, yes. Marie, thanks for sticking with us during our phone debacle this morning. Oh, no, it's great. No, listen, there's so much going on. My head's a spin and I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. I know, I know. What's on your mind this morning? Well, just a couple of things. But before I forget, when did Murkowski get put on the ballot? I think Murkowski is going to be up in 2028.

Wow, so long. Yeah, yeah, in 2028. In 2026, I think Sullivan's going to be up, but I think Murkowski's up in 2028. Okay, because, you know, I've been here a long time, and... I remember when her dad left and he just threw her on the seat. We didn't get to vote her in. I know. I know. Look, talk about nepotism. That was so egregious. That was so offensive to so many Alaska voters because we all know.

She went to survive the Republican primary. I mean, come on. No, it was just like Kabbalah Harris. Yeah, they anointed her and picked her and just put her in that spot. You're exactly right. Well, Marie, what's on your mind today? So I wanted to talk about Iran. Is that all right? Yeah, go for it. It's Free Forum Friday. You get to pick the topic.

Awesome. So on Iran, they have enough uranium already gathered up that they can make five warheads, and you're very positive. Give me a positive twist on that, please. Well, I don't know that I can make a positive twist. Look, here's my reality with Iran. I think with Iran, there is no level of nuclear program whatsoever, energy or otherwise, that should be acceptable. I think the only way to deal with Iran is to absolutely destroy

any of their nuclear sites whatsoever. I don't think whether it is Look, if they can get an agreement and get U.S. officials in there, or Israeli officials, I'm fine with that too, to get in there and dismantle those programs, I'm fine if they can do that through peaceful means. And if they can't, I think all means necessary to ensure that Iran never becomes a nuclear power is appropriate because I think they're nuts. And I think if they actually get a working nuclear bomb,

I think they will use it. And I think that that cannot be allowed. That cannot be allowed on any way. So when people start talking about, oh, well, we'll allow them to have an energy program, uh-uh. They're never going to play by the rules. They never have. Never. I'm with you. Never. I think I can put a positive spin on here.

No. Okay. All right, so let's say that they've got these five, right? That now means Israel has more targets and a wider area they can strike, so they don't have to be, like, trying to pinpoint it in. Now it can just be, we're going to just take off a whole spot over here and just dump them down. Easier targeting for Israel.

I love it. You know, Israel and the US, we're keeping an eye on them. We got our eye on them. You have to. And here's the other thing. Saudi Arabia does not want Iran to have a nuclear weapon. No, they don't know. So I think the stakes are very high, not just for the U.S. and for Israel, but I think the stakes are very high for other Middle Eastern countries, Egypt, Saudi Arabia. And I think it is in the world's best interest to ensure.

At all costs, Iran does not achieve a nuclear weapon. That's my opinion. And just one last thing, if you don't mind. Sure, go for it. Okay, so I was up at 3 in the morning when that bill passed, and I was like, am I hearing this right? You heard it. I did call Washington, D.C., and I talked to Mark. And I let him know, but I thought that we were callying behind him. Don't mind me, I just woke up. Yeah, that's okay. Did you mean neck baguette?

Yes, I did. I'm sorry. Yeah, that's all right. That's all right. They kind of look alike, don't they? Yeah. They do. And then the last thing I just wanted to discuss was Did you get to hear what happened in the Oval Office with the... African president. Oh, that was a thing of beauty. I gotta tell you, Trump won play and he rolled out that TV when the South African president started to deny. That genocide was occurring.

And he just played it for him. And then he started lifting up newspaper after newspaper showing the killing of all these white farmers in his country. Look, Trump ain't playing this term. He is not playing. I know, that's right. And he came over here thinking, oh, I'm going to come over there and get some money from the U.S. again. Uh-uh. Uh-uh. Look, I got to tell you, it is a new day. And President Trump...

is walking in like the boss that he is, and he is absolutely, if you saw how he was treated when he went to the Middle East, he is treated with respect and all seriousness. Yep, it was amazing. And then on the South African thing, one more thing is that do you know that the Dutch have been over there for 379 years longer than the United States has been in the United States? Wow, I didn't realize. That's amazing. And African is a Dutch word.

And when the Dutch were over there, the Africans were still in the jungle. I don't know a lot about South Africa. It's not one of the parts of the regions of the world that I've studied a ton. I know a little bit, but not a ton, so I'll have to look into it more. They're going to kill off all the farmers, and guess what? They're not going to have any food to eat. Well, I will tell you this. Whenever we see genocide, whether it's against Christians, Jews,

any group, black group, if it was a Muslim group, I wouldn't care. Anytime we see a group that's targeted and is being exterminated. I think it is a global issue. I think it's a human rights issue. And I think Trump's doing the right thing by highlighting it. Absolutely. And the Democrats are so mad that they're going to bring over 59 white people. Give me a break.

Exactly. They let 20 million people in from who knows where, and they're worried about 59 white people from South Africa. I think the majority of the country is with you. I think the majority of people think... If they're being exterminated, yeah, that's exactly what a refugee program is for, is to say no. Okay. My heart goes out to those two who were shot. Yeah, those Israeli embassy staffers.

As they were coming out of a museum, they were gunned down, and the guy yelled, Free Palestine. I mean, clearly, this was an American who, look, this is what happens when you indoctrinate people, and, you know, the vitriol. That has been promulgated. throughout the U.S. And the FBI is like, we're trying to figure out a motive. I'm like, excuse me? Oh, yeah, we know the motive. It's pretty obvious. Hey, Marie, thank you so much for calling in today. I hope you have a safe weekend.

You have a great Memorial Weekend. I will. Thank you so much. All right, we're going to take a quick break. When we come back, we will continue with your calls. So starts right here. IT'S THE SHAWN! And a popular restaurant in Fairbanks is shutting its doors after over two decades in business. Alaska's news source reports Lavelle's Bistro is closing for good at the end of this month. Kathy Lavelle and Frank Eagle say uncertainty in the economy was a driving factor behind the decision to close. That's the latest. I'm John Fink.

Looking at your Alaska total traffic cameras on this Friday morning. Steady traffic around the Anchorage Bowl, but no major stoppages or slowdowns out there. Looks like traffic is doing pretty good. Amy Demboski, 6 to 8, mornings on News Radio. Well, welcome back. Current time is 7.39. I'm going to go to the phones real quick, and Dr. Farr is with us. Good morning, Dr. Farr. Hey, good morning. Yes, when I was educated,

Here in Alaska, we had one of the best educational systems in the nation and had some of the top scores. Now we're at the bottom. And I think it's ridiculous. They're rewarding them. And all this thing, I mean, we're paying a lot more because of children with disabilities than we are for our...

children that actually are going to be supporting us in the future through jobs and everything else. And so with all this DEI stuff and all the requirements by the federal government, our teachers are not being allowed to teach. We need to go back to facts and math. We need to go back to the SRA reading program and just get rid of this common core, all of these testing and everything else, and actually teach our children.

It's just ridiculous what they're doing. They're putting more money after bad. you know. outcomes, and 27% of our children are now being homeschooled because parents are so frustrated with the school system.

So this bill is totally ridiculous, and this 10% internet tax, I mean, I can't tell you the number of businesses that I know that went out of business during COVID, and to add a 10% internet tax is going to adversely affect A lot of businesses and a lot of our elderly, and especially people in the bus, I mean, that is just a crime. And so I don't know what these idiots were thinking, and I'm sorry. I'm really frustrated with them.

But I do not know what they were thinking, and I just hope that we're able to do something to reverse a lot of the stupidity that happened in Juneau this year. You know, Dr. Farr, one of the biggest frustrations, and you're expressing it, and I'm hearing this over and over and over again from people.

They are so frustrated. And when they engage these people, a lot of them are just saying, well, you just don't understand. No, this is great. You just don't understand. And I don't know that we've gotten through to them yet. But we're working on it, and these public conversations help. Well, the problem is, I mean, they basically took our mineral rights, and we are supposed to get that PFD, and that PFD really does help support our economy.

So basically what they're doing is taking the PFD from the people and giving it to their special lobbyist groups and stuff like that. instead of the people, and that is to go to the people. So we need our mineral rights back. If they're not going to actually distribute the PFD the way that it's supposed to, to actually help the people in Alaska. Anyway, I'm... I agree. Dr. Farr, I so agree with you.

So I hate to cut it a little bit short, but I have to do my, I really want to get to my Memorial Day honor, my tribute for Memorial Day, and I'm going to run short of time if I don't cut it short. Okay, I'm going to be back on the Maha Report next. Okay. That'll be lovely. Yeah, that'll be great. Thank you so much. That's Dr. Ilona Farsi is a gem, you know.

I always do this on Memorial Day because I think it's a sober reminder of what the holiday is really about. You know, Memorial Day in the United States, it's always the last Monday in May. And it honors those who have died while serving our country and the armed forces. It originated during the Civil War when citizens placed flowers on the graves of those who were killed in battle. The first national observance was in 1868. After World War I, the name was changed to Memorial Day.

and in 1971 it became a federal holiday. The data is observed by people who visit cemeteries where flags and other items are placed on the graves of the veterans who have died. There's oftentimes parade ceremonies, all of those things, but I think it's a sober reminder for all of us. You know, I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for those who have served before and who have died for this country. I wouldn't have the rights that I have today, and I am keenly aware of that. I understand that.

And as we go into the Memorial Day weekend, I just want to take a moment to honor those who have died, who have served our country, and remind you that we still live in the greatest country on earth. Here's President Ronald Reagan on Memorial Day. If we looked other people on earth. It was because here in this land than has ever been done times has been high I know where to love me. Alright, let's go to the phones right quick and we'll start with Ken. Good morning, sir. You need to bump those jack wagons that follow you on air. You need three or four hours here. Amy, stop this. I know. We don't have enough time. We have one more in queue behind you, so you've got to be quick. All right, Rob, Rob, work out. Anybody, if you can grab the book, Reagan's Diaries and his remembrance of what happened over in Beirut was pretty good, particularly to me.

But, you know, thank you for remembering, everybody. And this is for the fallen folks. Don't say thank a veteran because it hurts us. Don't do that. Please don't do that. We did not pay that price. I just want to remind everybody, I hear them do it, and every year I hear them do it, I think, oh, no, no. Hey, if you can, follow the thread of the guys

the men and women that were going to the legislature, and here's what I wanted to say real quick about that. So one of the things they said, it kind of hurt my head, is they want to inflation-proof government. What that means is they want citizens to be indentured servants for whatever processes they come up with, whatever expenditures they come up with.

You don't talk about silly things like inflation-proofing. And one of the things like Julie Collins said, well, that one-time funding, you know what, that's how the legislation works. That's why you're there. That's why you go once a year. It's supposed to be one-time funding because you've got to follow your money that you have. You're not doing that.

You can't spend more than you have. So what Ken is talking about, if you just joined us, I have a thread on my Facebook page where I asked if anybody had seen any comments from the Republican Party chair. and a few legislators have jumped in to try to defend their votes, and it is getting to be a very entertaining thread. Would you not agree?

Well, I think it's past entertaining and morbid because their justifications are sickening. They have no merit. It truly is of the state, for the state, and by the state here in the state. Screw the GDP no private enterprise. We don't have anything else going on. Let's just build the state for the sovereign as the state is it. It's fascism. I gotta tell you. I gotta tell you. These folks.

These folks should learn. There's certain, out of all people in this state, threat to jump on and try to expend, try to defend a big spending bill. with no appreciable outcomes, it's probably not my Facebook page. That's probably not the place for them to go, but that's where they are. Look, I gotta be honest with you. I can't wait to get off the air so I can see it. Like, it just is cracking me up.

All right, Ken, well, I've got to go. I've got to take one more car, but my friend, thank you for all you do, and I hope you have a wonderful and safe and reflective Memorial Day weekend. Thank you so much. All right. All right, let's go to Ed. Ed, you've got about the last minute and a half, two minutes of the show here. Go ahead, sir. Well, thank you, Amy, for what you and Daryl knew to bring our attention to probably one of the most important days.

Life in America, which is coming up Memorial Day. I can't speak more about how appropriate it was that you put Reagan on there and his feelings about those fallen soldiers, but what we must think about also. At any moment, we could have another falling soldier. So being a veteran, one serving, you know, it's important to me to reflect on those that are out there protecting us and that will sacrifice like that young man that was quoted about in his diary.

that this is what gives us freedom, and I'm all about that. I'd like to speak on a lot of other subject matter, but I can't, but I almost felt like a tear coming up listening to Reagan. I do know this, that my dad served as a submariner during the Cold War, and he was buried over in the Veterans Cemetery in Soldatna. Thank you very much for your service. to the people in Alaska directing No, small and small, just God bless you both.

Alright, well that the Memorial Day weekend, please do take You have died It is really an honor to be able to highlight them today. Daryl and I, we It's Memorial Day. God bless. Oh, man. We're raising my rent again? Yeah, I remember those days. Glad we bought a house. I'd love to own a home, but how am I supposed to
