The opinions expressed on this show are those of the host and not of iHeartMedia or its employees. Thank you for listening to NewsRadio 650 KENR. The show starts now. Our lines are open at 907-522-0650. This is The Morning Tribe on NewsRadio 650 KENI. Good morning. It is finally hump day, Wednesday, March 26th. You know, Daryl, yesterday I laughed. I had a picture show up as a memory from last year.

And it was a picture of my deck and there was snow on it on the 25th. And I looked out yesterday, I almost said like a, hey, this is this year and this is last year. But I look out and my lawn is perfectly brown. There's no snow on it whatsoever. My husband's already, you know, I don't want to say swept because he has like a backpack blower thing. He blew all the gravel. Yeah, he blew all the gravel off the driveway already. And we are ready. I mean, we're ready. Spring is here.

We're all accepting it. It's happening. Well, to reinforce you, this morning, first of all, it's 35 degrees here at the station. Oh, nice. It was 37 over in Spenard. and I get out there to start my car this morning, and I'm getting hit in the face with moisture.

And I'm literally looking around going, it cannot be misty raining right now because it was making my driveway slippery. I was just like, this is going to be uncool. Get inside. Look at my weather app because when it does things like that to me, I look at my weather app. I'm like, what is going on?

It told me it was going to be high pressure and clear skies. And I'm looking at it going, really? It's raining out right now. So the weather is totally confused by weather app. But we are doing that. We finally got to the proper. Marsh came in like a lion. And now it's going out like a... Lamb. Lamb. Yeah. I almost said the word with a D, but... Well, I will tell you, right now, my...

Right here at my house, it's 36.8 on my weather station. 36.8. And as I'm looking at the precipitation, it says for the next three hours, it'll be rain slash snow. Oh. And so it's not going to snow. I mean. Whatever. Our high today is supposed to be 51. Wow. Now, just out of curiosity, because you do have your weather station there, what's your barometric pressure? Okay, humidity is 53%. What? Dewpoint, it says, is 21. Okay.

Feels like 37, though, is what it says. And right now, it is not even windy. Wind gusts 1.6 miles per hour. No barometric pressure, no number like 29.07 or 30.01. I'm looking. I don't see anything like that on there. There's all kinds of... Rain. Oh, here it is. It's in big blue letters. I don't know how I missed it. 30.26. See, 30.26 in most cases, and I mean, I'm looking at my watch because I have a browner on my watch. That denotes clear skies.

letting you know that generally denotes anything above 29.9 and it's clear sky so It's not just my weather station. There you go. See, I see nobody's asked me that question before. And right above it, it says pressure. I don't usually look down that far, but yeah, that's how much the weight of the air is on top. Yeah, that makes sense. That makes sense.

Well, I will tell you, it's really nice right now. Actually, it's popped up to 37.1 since we've been talking as far as temperature goes, not pressure, but temperature. So that's what I'm saying. At 37 degrees, it is not going to be snowing.

Not going to be happening. Not going to be happening. Well, as I look around temperatures around South Central and around Fairbanks, Fairbanks right now is sitting at 16 degrees. Their high today will be 35. Big Lake right now is at 34, and their high is supposed to be So, you know, Kenai is sitting at 35 with a high today of 45. I'll chill with Kenai. I'll chill with Kenai. You're starting to see all those temperatures. Today will definitely be, well, I don't say definitely, but...

Today, I expect we'll be breaking 50. Once you start breaking 50, like, I'm ready to go pick up my flower baskets. I'm ready for the city to start taking the dust down. Oh, my gosh. The dust in here in Anchorage is outrageous lately. No bueno. No bueno. oh man well it is that time of year i have all my allergy machines running i have all these air purifiers that

I run because I have allergies. And I will tell you, it gets dusty in the wind tunnel that I live in. And so you definitely notice it in the house for sure. All right, well, let's hit some of our public meetings for today. There's not that many. There's a few. Today for Wednesday, March 26th, the only thing I see on the calendar for the Matsu Borough is the Sutton Community Council tonight at 7 p.m. That's what, let me just scroll up to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Yep, tonight, 7 p.m., Sutton Community Council has their meeting, and they meet at the Sutton Public Library. So if you need more information on that, just go to matsugov.us. As far as the city of Wasilla goes, there's no meetings. But don't forget, today is the 2025 Matsu Employer Expo. It's going to be today, Wednesday, March 26th, from 10 to 3 at the Menard Center over there in Wasilla.

They said, how to get the most from this event? We expect more than 100 employers and partners connect with employees for hiring entry-level, technical, professional, and seasonal positions. You can speak with the university vocational tech schools, apprenticeships, union reps, stress for success, be prepared to network with employers, have a resume prepared, or general applications on hand.

If you need more information, you can contact the Mat-Su Job Center at 352-2500. Again, that's going to be at the Menard Center today from 10 to 3. And that is the Matsu Employer Expo. As I was looking around the rest of the borough out here in Palmer, I don't see anything on their calendar today, so we'll switch on over to the Municipality of Anchorage. There's only a couple things on the calendar today.

The Anchorage Police and Fire Retirement System annual investment review meeting is going to be today and tomorrow at the Hotel Captain Cook in the lower lobby level. It's in the Endeavor Room. It starts at 8 a.m. this morning, and tomorrow it will be at 1 o'clock. So if you are one that likes to participate in those meetings, that's happening today at Captain Cook.

As far as the Anchorage Assembly goes, they only have one meeting on their calendar for today. The Quality Municipal Services Elections and Ethics Committee meeting is today at 1 o'clock. in room 155 at city hall daryl's looking very confused because he didn't see that on his calendar where did you find that i don't want to say daryl because it's going to embarrass you okay it's probably on the right on their home page exactly I skipped that one because I go to the reports.

I know, I don't know. But they do have noticed, for your interest, Daryl, next Wednesday they do have noticed a special assembly meeting. I haven't clicked through that one to see what that's about, but they haven't publicly noticed yet. All right, so today...

If you want to track what the Anchorage Assembly is doing, there are meetings at 1 o'clock in room 155 at City Hall. There was nothing on the calendar this morning for the Kenai Peninsula Borough, so we'll skip on down to the city of Kenai. They do have a planning and zoning commission. meeting tonight at 7 p.m. That will be in the council chambers at City Hall, located at 210 Fidalgo Avenue in Kenai.

If you need more information, just go to Kenai.city, and you'll be able to find it there. As far as the city of Sildatna goes, I'm getting there. It's taken me a second. They have a city council meeting this morning, and the city council meeting, er, not this morning, this afternoon. Hang on a second. I'm trying to get there. Uh, they don't have the time on here. I know, you might want to keep going, my computer's doing weird things. I've had to close it out a couple of times.

And our next question for today, what will be happening on the Kenai Peninsula? For $300, Amy, what would you like to answer? Exactly. Well, they do have a city council meeting tonight in the council chambers at 6 p.m. It was supposed to be in the form of a question. I was never very good at Jeopardy, so what are you going to do? Well, tonight down in Homer, there is a Port and Harbor Advisory regular meeting.

Their commission is meeting at 530 tonight in the Cals Council Chambers, located at Homer City Hall. If you need more information, just go to City of Homer, hyphen. Cityofhomer-ak.gov. Sorry, I'm getting distracted. I looked at your note there, and I got distracted because I thought you just misspelled Bruce. And I'm like,

No, no, this is a wonderful caller we have. Wonderful, wonderful. All right, let's go ahead. We need to take a quick commercial break. When we come back, we will go to our callers. If you'd like to call in, be part of the show, 522-0650. We'll be right back. Now, 907-522-0650. Welcome back. Her time is 619.

On this Wednesday morning, we're going to go to the phones, and Bruni is with us. So, good morning, Bruni. Well, good morning, Amy. Thank you so much for taking my call. Happy to. How are you this morning? I'm doing fabulous. Thank you. Wonderful. Every day starts off great. Sometimes it changes through the day, but yeah, you know. Yeah. So I have a voting question. Okay. Assembly seat.

Assembly District 1CL, who would you recommend? The least damaging person. Well, I will tell you, this is good news, I think, because not only do you have a... a great choice in district in district one it's somebody that i actually I've known for a long time, and I think he would do an excellent job. Daniel George is who I would recommend in that district. So that's the Daniel Voland, Nick Danger. Okay, so that one is the Margo Bellamy. Margo Bellamy is the incumbent. I would not vote for her.

So I think Rosales is in that seat. And then the second seat, seat B, I would vote for Mark Anthony Cox. Mark Anthony Cox. Okay. And then, thank you for that. And then how about Assembly seat? 6J. This is for a friend. Okay, let me look. I'm looking at my... I think that's the South Anchorage seat it is. I would vote for Keith McCormick. You would not. Okay. No, I would vote. Yes, I would vote for Keith McCormick. You would vote for Keith McCormick. Okay. All right.

Fantastic. Well, thank you so much. You're so informative and knowledgeable. I love listening to you. Oh, thank you. Early in the morning to hear you. I know. Well, thank you so much for calling this morning. It was wonderful talking to you, and I hope I helped. Yes, you did. Yes, you did. Thank you. Wonderful. You're all right. You're welcome. Bye-bye. Thank you. Bye.

I'm always happy to share, you know, my opinions. That's all they are. They're just my opinions on the stories or, you know, frankly, who I would vote for in those districts. the assembly races let me just recap them really quickly for everybody Anchorage Assembly District 1 which is the North Anchorage district the choices are Daniel Vola and Nick danger or Daniel George I've known Daniel George for a long time he is

He used to be the Community Council President there in Mountain View. He is in real estate, but he is just such a great person. I would vote for him. Easily, hands down. I was actually very excited to see him run in that race, so I think he would do an excellent job. District 2, that's an easy one for me. Chugiak Eagle River, I would vote for Jared Gerker. District 3.

Cameron Perez-Verdia versus Jonathan Duckworth versus Amy Steen. Darrell, this is your district. I keep asking you, you know, what you think in this race. And I know a few people have asked me. The challenge is. Cameron, obviously, we know what we're going to get for him, so I would not vote for him. So it comes down to two basically unknown candidates, Jonathan Duckworth and Amy Steen. For me...

I would probably go with Duckworth, but I don't know. What are your thoughts? I mean, Duckworth is a business person. My problem is – and don't take this wrong, but these people seem to be – trying not to be even in the public. They're not campaigning. What you're saying is they're not really campaigning. Not campaigning. I have tried to find ways to reach out to them. They're...

I've left messages on their machines. You know, hey, give me a call back. No return calls. No return calls. That's not great. No APOCs. I mean, they're literally, and this is going to sound wrong, but they almost seem like a plant. And if I'm wrong, please call me. Tell me I'm wrong. At least I'll know that I'm wrong. That right now is the hardest race because nobody is. Like, there's really no, I mean.

How can you support somebody if you don't know anything more than their name? I know. He seems like he could be good. He's a local business person. But I need more than that. I really, really do. And I'm getting to the desperation point where.

You could write yourself in. You could write yourself in. Oh, no, no, no. If I write anybody in, it's going to be Crash. He's not even part of our area, but that's who I write in for everything. In West Anchorage, you could write in Liz Vasquez, right? I think she lives in West Anchorage. is in the district. Yeah, she lives there.

So that's the hardest race for us because, again, we don't have information on two of the other ones. The Midtown seat, you have Aaron Baldwin-Dave versus Don Smith. I would vote for Don Smith if I was in that race. And District 5, which is East Anchorage. You have Angela Frank, John Stiegel, and Yarrow Silvers. Did you have any picks in that one? Anybody but Yarrow Silvers.

I hear people, and I've been looking at some different chats on social media, and I see a lot of people that are saying that they're going to vote for John Stiegel. I don't know anything about him, but I see it seems like he's getting a little bit more love. Let's put it that way. Yarrow is the pick of the left. Make no mistake about that. Beyond the pick of the left. Yeah, exactly. She's an angry little elf. District 6, which is South Anchorage, Girdwood, and Turnagin Arm.

Griffin recommended Keith McCormick on the air to us a couple weeks ago and that's his district so you know he's he's spoken to Keith you know you know so he does his homework so that's why I'm recommending Keith McCormick for that scene and then In school board candidates, my strategy this year is just vote against the incumbents. But you do have a good choice in Mark Anthony Cox for seat B. You know, this Margo Bellamy-Alexander Rosales race is an interesting one because...

A lot of people were starting to back Rosales, but then what we're seeing is in social media, Rosales is coming out and he's attacking some conservatives. At the same time, I don't think he's liberal, but I think he's a little bit of a loose cannon maybe.

At the same time, I don't know him. I haven't talked to him, but there's no chance I would vote for Margot Bellamy. So, I mean, I've got to be honest with you. That's why I would vote for Rose Alice over Bellamy, simply because I've seen what she does, and she's... literally a hot mess. I would not be interested in voting for her. She doesn't reflect my values at all. So that's why my strategy for the English School Board candidates this year is just vote against the incumbents.

And then you have a bunch of service area board of supervisors throughout the ballots. And then you're going to have a ton of ballot proposition questions. So if you're in the Anchorage area and you're an Anchorage voter, Somebody's giving me the web form. My phone's blown up. But if you're in the Anchorage area and you're an Anchorage voter, don't forget your ballots need to be postmarked by April 1st.

no later than 8 p.m. Otherwise, they won't count, or they have to be in one of those drop boxes by 8 p.m. on April 1st. Technically, Tuesday is the election day. So you want to make sure that you get your ballots in. You can now start going to... to the Anchorage Vote Center should you wish to do so. It's open weekdays from 9 to 6, and that's going to be at City Hall, the Lusack Library, or Eagle River Town Center. Remember, only Eagle River.

Your ballots are available at the Eagle River Town Center location. So if you live in Chugiak Eagle River and you didn't get a ballot, you can go to the Eagle River Town Center. So that's the room right behind the library. Just go like you're going to go to the library. And you can go there. Again, that's weekdays from 9 to 6, Saturday.

March 29th from 12 to 4. And on Election Day, these in-person locations are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The secure drop boxes are all over town. I'm going to list off some of the locations. The ASDA Education Center, it has a drop box. It's located at 5530 East Northern Lights. City Hall downtown has a drop box. Eagle River Town Center, Girdwood Community Center, the Planning and Development Center, that's 4700 Elmore Road.

location, the Spenard Rec Center, Bartlett High School, Clark Middle School. The Election Center, which is at 619 East, Ship Creek Avenue, has a drop box. The LUSAC Library, Service High School, UAA Alaska Airlines Center, Begich Middle School, Diamond High School. Fairview Community Rec Center, O'Malley on the Green, South Anchorage High School, and West Anchorage High School. Those are your Dropbox locations. If you need more information, just go to muni.org and then click on the Election tab.

be able to bring you in right there okay I feel like I've adequately done my PSA for I think you've more than adequately done it. You filled it out beautifully. Did get a caller in just a few minutes ago who says they have met with Amy Steen. She is a conservative.

They're hoping to meet with her again in the future. There's some issues going on right now, so she's not been able to get out and about. But they are urging her. But they liked her. They said they liked her. Good. She was actually encouraged by her supervisor to run. this position, and so...

That at least weighs in there. I at least have a tilt to my circle you're filling in. I still want to get more, but I appreciate the callers out there who called and let me know a little bit more about her. So at least Amy Scene, we do know, is actually a conservative.

That's great. Well, look, like I said, the only commentary I had been seeing in that race was some different social media threads where people were plugging the other guy. But look, if we have callers that are telling us that Amy Steen's a good one, I think, you know, if you're in that district, it's always you're in your best interest to do your homework. Like, Daryl's been trying for weeks to figure out his race in District 3. That's, I think, the hardest race right now.

This year has been a weird year for this Anchorage election cycle. It has been lackluster at best. Very, very little. engagement participation there's just not a lot going on i mean not a lot of money being spent not a lot of advertising Yeah, I was going to say, the only one, I mean, I'm seeing, I'm seeing, I have to tell you, I think Daniel Boland's a little nervous because earlier this week I saw, I saw a,

an announcement come out that Mary Peltola is endorsing Daniel Voland. And I'm like, ooh. I'm like, is he a little nervous here? But he should be. Daniel George is a formidable candidate. He has cross... People like him on both sides because he's been so involved in the community. He's not just somebody who's walking in. I mean, he knows that district very, very well. I just think it's funny that Daniel Volan, the optometrist, is being supported by the person who was never seen.

Oh, my gosh. Oh, I got some tea. I shouldn't spill it, but I think I'm going to. So for my early listeners, I'm going to tell you, my phone was going crazy yesterday after the show. And I think I finally, like, you know, I worked during the day. And after I got off work, I was back on the phone again. And I think I finally got off the phone about 8 o'clock last night. And I will tell you, I have been getting, I have talked to me.

Many, many people. I got some tea to spill. I'm going to tell you. I got to tell you. Man, Juno just never seems to disappoint because I expect disappointment. And then they fulfill my expectations. You know, I just have to tell you, that's usually what happens. But we'll get into that and so much more. You're not going to want to miss it. Stay with us. We'll be right back. Reach out to Amy now. 907-522-0650. That's 907-522-0650. It's Amy Demboski on NewsRadio 650. KENI.

Okay, welcome back. Current time, 637. Okay, you know, there's certain times I should, sometimes I should just keep my mouth shut. But, you know, it's just not going to happen. It's just not going to happen. So I had multiple, multiple, multiple conversations yesterday with constituents of many. Let's put it that way. And I will tell you. It was amazing to me, Daryl, because this has been one of the shows yesterday where, how do I say this?

I was, my phone didn't stop buzzing until about 10 o'clock yesterday morning. I mean, two hours after the show got over. And then I get off work, and I'm on the phone, like, you know, just it's ringing. I'm calling people. I didn't get off the phone last night until maybe 8 o'clock. That's why you got my show prep so late, by the way. I like to be in bed by 9, but, you know, Daryl got it after 10.

But as we kind of are digesting what happened in Juneau yesterday, which is the House passed a joint resolution. And the media is clearly categorizing this as a swipe at Trump, right? Siding with Canada, weighing into this tariff war. That's how they're classifying it. Others are saying it was going to pass anyway.

So we tried to make it less worse. I mean, look, and there's been many times. I can't tell you how many times I've had this conversation now. Look, there were many, many, many times when I was on the Anchorage Assembly. That I amended I proposed amendments to different pieces of legislation, and then I ultimately voted against it. I just made it less worse And I see that

You know, and so sometimes you do what you've got to do. But I am very proud of my legislator. I'm represented by Kathy Tilton. There was only four legislators that did not vote for this legislation. And this resolution, look, resolutions are not binding. It's really weird. At the bottom of the resolution, it lists all these Canadian officials they're going to send this resolution to. And the first person, though, it's going to send it to is Donald Trump.

Clearly, that's a punch in the nose to Donald Trump. It's given the big old Alaska middle finger to the President of the United States, in my opinion. This is just my opinion. Just like everybody, we all have one. And so... You know, I just kind of looked at it, and I was like, you know, is this really what we want to do? I mean, given the opportunity, the Alaska legislature absolutely consistently has an opportunity to muck up the works.

You know, they just, given the opportunity, we squander opportunities, we screw things up. I don't know what's going on. It just drives me crazy. But yesterday I read this, and I don't know if you caught it when I read it, but I kind of paused because I waited because I was like, I'm not going to say it because I don't know. But I have confirmed it. Now I know. So I'm going to say it. Because you know what?

I'm going to choose my words carefully because, don't worry, Daryl, I will not cuss. Because, you know, there's a term, chicken something, when you don't push the button. you know what i mean there's a term so yesterday when i read it you know it was easier for me to tell you who didn't vote for this resolution remember so i'm going to do that again and i'm going to read what i wrote yesterday

What I read yesterday. So there's a story for the passage of this bill. 33 yeas, 4 nays, 2 excused, 1 absent. So Jamie Allard voted against this resolution, you know. You know, basically a slap in the face to the White House. So did Elam. So did Prox and Kathy Tilton. Those were the four that voted no. then jimmy was excused and so was vance sarah vance they weren't there they were both excused but one stuck out to me as being absent delena johnson yeah

you're right so i so the thought that came to me is was she pulling a peltola and hiding in the bathroom well i've been told by multiple people now she intentionally walked out of the room so she didn't have to vote That's a Peltola. That is flat out a Peltola. Chicken little. Let me just tell you. The last word little is not the word I really want to use on the air, but I can't use the other word on the air. But you know what? Look, I got to be honest with you.

And I'm not even going to hide it. When you don't have the courage and the fortitude to push the red or the green button, I don't respect you. Show up for your constituents. Do your damn job. It is not that complicated. How is it we have a Palmer representative who could not step up and stand up for the President of the United States? Who could not stand up for her constituents? Well, I will tell you.

We had a lot of people from the MADSU who voted with the Democrats. Now, we're going to get a little interesting, and I'm going to share with you. This is fascinating to me because I always read a little bit more because I understand the political strategy. And sometimes what's important is not what is said or what is done, but it is what is not done. What do I mean by that? If you walk out of the room and you're just not going to take the vote,

If you just walk out of the room, and something's so easy. This is an easy one. This is a layup for any conservative, right? You have a resolution being proposed by Chuck Kopp. Chuck Kopp. Attacking Trump on tariffs, right? Why in the world would this be hard for any conservative? It shouldn't be. It should be very easy. Then I open up my phone.

Last night, as I'm looking at, because I do this because I love you guys. I read the ADN. I read them all just to see what's happening. She really loves you. Oh, my God. She really loves you. It is sometimes it is the most painful thing, but I do it. And there's an opinion piece out here. And I'm like, okay, okay, let's see what it says. Alaska future depends on responsible development, not new taxes. Okay, I'm loving it, right?

It goes on and it talks about the North Slope development, oil and gas, and the essence of this particular op-ed. It says basically that Senate Bills 92 and 112 risk repeating past mistakes, deterring investments, slowing development, and ultimately reducing the tax revenue it aims to generate. What are we talking about? We're talking about...

New taxes on oil and gas industry, right? That's what we're talking about. And this op-ed, which I agree with the premise of it. I absolutely agree with it. I'm like, okay, this is a good message. It's not anything we haven't heard before. Right? Great. Fantastic. I agree.

So it goes on and says, House Republicans support a different path, one that encourages investment, supports responsible resource development, and protects Alaskan jobs. We must send a clear message to investors that Alaska is open for business. That means rejecting... unnecessary tax increases and maintaining stable competitive environment for the private sector agreed agreed so then it gets down here and in the little in the little excerpt here

Where, you know, after an editorial and opinion piece, it says who these people are. So the authors of this... Joe, you've got to put your listening ears on. You're going to die when you hear me say this. Mia Costello, okay, because remember, keeps referring in this op-ed to House Republicans, right? Mia Costello, Jeremy Bynum, Julie Colom, Bill Elam, Delana Johnson, Chuck Kopp, Alexi Moore, David Nelson, Mike Prox, George Rousher, Justin Ruffridge, Dan Sadler, Rebecca Schwanke,

Frank Tomaszewski, I always mess up his name, Jubilee Underwood, and Sarah Vance are Republican members of the Alaska House of Representatives. So you know what's missing in here? First of all, First of all, I'll tell you what's missing. The most conservative candidates in the caucus. Kathy Tilton is not on here. Jamie Allard is not on here. Sarah Vance is on here. But the word caucus is not here. So yesterday, a whole bunch of these people voted with Chuck Kopp.

to smack the president in the face. Today, now they're putting out an opinion piece with Chuck Kopp? Listed as a House Republican. Are you kidding me? He's the head of the Democrats. He is the majority leader for the Democrat caucus. What the hell is going on in Juneau? First of all, okay, I'm just going to say it. Your leadership sucks.

Whoever's running the show down there for the minority, you are doing a crappy job this year. Because you know what I see you doing? I see you placating to the majority leader of the Democrats. You guys need to get it together. you right now your constituents yesterday were blowing up my phone they are ticked they are po'd because you know what they see the same crap going on in Juneau that goes on every single year you guys get it together

Do your damn job. You were elected to be Republicans. You weren't elected to sit here and play patty cakes with a turncoat like Chuck Copp. I'm going to take a break. I'll be right back. Now, back to the boss. Amy Demboski. Call 907-522-0650 and be a part of the show on News Radio 650. KENI. Welcome back. Current Time 651. You know...

Daryl, this is the reason the establishment and the GOP doesn't love me. Because their strategy is always, you never talk about your business out in public. You just don't do it. You have to just keep it to yourself. And you know what? Here's the thing. I believe we should hold Republicans to a higher standard than we hold Democrats to. Because at the end of the day, I recognize I have a different worldview than Democrats. I understand that.

i get it i understand it i don't expect them to vote the way that i would vote you know what i do expect from public servants i expect you to show up and do your job I expect you, when you ask for my vote, you do exactly what you say you're going to do, and you don't run to Juneau and then become part of the swamp, and then all of a sudden we're all at the bowling alley drinking together, and look, show up.

do your job keep it in your pants and stay sober while you're in juno okay it's not that complicated simple rules it's not that complicated and i've been down there and i will tell you The things that go on in Juneau, if they had a capital on the road system, I would tell you behavior would change. I've seen it. I've heard about it. We all know the rumors.

And these are the things they don't talk about in Juneau, right? So here's my thing. I am sick and tired of playing with these weak Republicans. that go down there and they become assumed by the Borg. They just become assimilated. This is the way we do it. This is the way we've always done it. You know what?

You need to come home and do a town hall. Even people I like that have gone down to Juneau this year, they've lost their way. And you know what? I'm going to say it. Mia Costello, you're the majority leader. You're the minority leader. You're the minority leader. Grow a damn backbone. I like Mia Costello. I like Mia Costello a lot. What are you doing? What are you doing in Juneau? What the heck is happening this year? You guys need to get it together.

Because at the end of the day, what we know is going to happen, I'll tell you how this session is going to play out. It was predictable from day one when we saw how they organized. What's going to happen is the House is going to pass all kinds of outlandish ridiculousness. things like $1,000 BSA based on allocation for education. They're going to increase spending beyond the money they have coming in. We know that's going to happen.

So they're going to take your PFD, and then they're going to require a CBR draw, which is a constitutional budget reserve, which requires a higher threshold, like a two-thirds majority, to take that money. know how this is going to play out. They want to pass a defined benefits plan to give this golden parachute to state workers, to government workers that gets a defined benefit plan, which we know the past defined benefit plan is still $6 billion in the hole.

We know they're going to pass this crap, and at the end of the day, we know they're going to rely on a CBR draw, so we know they need your vote, right? Then if it passes... If it passes, the governor's going to veto it, and he's going to need the House Republicans to actually act like damn Republicans. He's going to need them to stand together.

And you know what right now, the leadership right now and the House minority, and I don't even know who else is on there, you know, what the hell was Dan Sadler thinking when he signed on to this stupid resolution yesterday? He signed on as a sponsor. You're from Eagle River. What are you thinking? But what you're doing right now is you're breaking your caucus. Because when you write an op-ed with Chuck Kopp, the leader of the Democrats,

And then you have members of your own caucus that aren't signing on to it because he's not really a House Republican, let's be honest. He may have an R behind his name, but he's leading the Democrats. What you're doing is you're undermining your own caucus. You've got to be smarter than this. Use a little bit of forward thinking. Because here's what's going to happen. In two months, when those vetoes come, you're going to need your caucus members to come together.

And when you choose Chuck Copp over your own caucus, you have now thrown them under the bus. And you're screwing us all. You've got to be able to hold your group together. I'm telling you right now. This is a coming of Jesus moment. This is an opportunity. This is an opportunity for the House Republicans to go back in, put your little hurt feelings aside.

Suck it up and be a group for Alaskans. Be the group that we elected that we sent to Juneau. Because if you cannot do that, I'm already hearing there's people that are talking about primarying. Already, conservatives that just got elected go into Juneau.

Because you know what they're not going to stand for? They're not going to stand for you slapping the president in the face. They're not going to stand for you going down there advocating for raising taxes. They're not going to stand for you going down there and getting in the proverbial political bed.

with the leader of the Democrats. You know what? They elected you to act like Republicans, so act like it. All right, Daryl. I've had a little too much coffee today. We're going to take it down a notch. But I'm going to go ahead and take a break. When we come back, let's get into the headlines of the day. We'll be right back.

and not of iHeartMedia or its employees. Thank you for listening to NewsRadio 650 KENI. Welcome back to live, local, and insightful Morning Drive Radio on NewsRadio 650 KENI. Welcome back to Hour 2 of the Amy Dobosky Show. It's 7.06. Hopefully you're having a good day. It is the second hour of the show. I will tell you, Daryl, you know... I know sometimes I get on my rants, but, you know, it's not often when I have to do, like, the inside baseball, and I don't know what to say.

There comes a day, you've just got to tell the people what's actually happening. And this is why I was starting to say, there's some people in the Republican Party that will say, oh, don't do it, don't do it. But we keep getting the same behavior because we're not calling it out. Exactly.

And that's actually, Amy, just so you know, one of the reasons people like you is you do call it out. You don't stand there and bite your tongue and go, well, I'll be quiet in the back. You don't. You stand up, you get on top of the chair, then you step on somebody's shoulders, and then you start waving. I love it. I'm sorry. I love it.

I will tell you, and I've tried hard, you know, over the years. Look, last year during session, there was a lot of people that were giving me a lot of inside baseball. My goal was to keep the Republican caucus together to make sure that they, because we had the majority, right, to make sure they could actually get things done. And so I'm not, I don't want to, you don't want to cut off your nose to spite your face. And so you've got to be smart about, you know. You've got to be smart about...

The times to pull the trigger and the times not to. And I mean that pervirially. I do not mean that literally. But in this time, I think there's an opportunity for the people in the house to kind of regroup, get back together. get on the same page and understand like you got on you gotta have the end zone in mind right you got to have the end of session in mind

And if you alienate people, throw them under the bus now, you're going to lose it. You're going to lose it. I went back to this article, and what I noticed was, as I'm looking at the names, You know, so I had to do a side-by-side to see who was not on this article, because this is what tells you more of the story than anything else. Kevin McCabe was not on that article.

Interesting. Kathy Tilton was not on that article. Jamie Allard, Delaina Johnson, and Will Stapp. So you have one, two, three, four, five members of the Republican caucus that chose. Not to be on this. And look, I think they all agree with the concept of what's in here. I've heard them all talk about it in different ways about not raising oil and gas taxes.

Just a dumb question here. The five that you just listed, are they not the same ones that did not sign the poke in Trump's eye letter? No, no, no. It's a mixture. I will tell you. I will tell you. So Tilton Allard. voted no on House Joint Resolution 11. So those two did. And then it was Prox and it was Elam. But Prox and Elam. But this is my point. When you have a Republican caucus... put out put out an op-ed and effectively they took out the word caucus and now it's just like

Now we're, I don't know. I'm going to go on a tangent again, so I've got to stop. I've got to stop. All right, we're going to go to the phones because we need to shift gears back to there is an Anchorage election going on right now. We have less than a week to get our ballots in. And we're going to go to the phones here because one of my very favorite candidates is running, is calling in this morning. Good morning, Jared Gerker. Good morning, Amy. How are we doing today?

I am fantastic. Jared, I've got to tell you, people are paying attention to their ballots. We've had a number of people over the last few days calling us, asking us specific questions about this Anchorage municipal election. Eagle River, there's a lot of people in Eagle River that... As soon as they called me, they're like, well, we already know we're voting for Jared Gerker, so there you go. So I'm excited to hear that. What are you hearing as you're closing in on Election Day?

You know, honestly, we're hearing a lot of the same thing. I was phone banking just the other night and got a guy. He was heading out the door to take the kids to some after-school activity. He's like, you know, actually, I'm looking at my ballot right now. He says, you're Jared, right? I was like, yeah. He's like, okay. That's who I was planning to vote for, but it's nice to actually hear your voice. So, yeah, lock another one up.

Fantastic. Well, you know, Jared, you're no stranger to politics. And I want to ask you, because I'm on a roll today. I just want to know, you know, and I've known you for a long time, so I expect no less. And if you do something different, you will definitely hear from me. But, you know, what do you...

How do you reassure people when you're talking to them that you'll do what you say you're going to do and that you are who you are? Because I know you're a conservative. That's what you've told people. I've worked with you many times. And, you know, that's the thing. people get so frustrated about is sending people to elected positions and then they turn out not to be who they say they are. How do you reassure people that that's not the case with you?

Yeah, well, I guess the first thing I would say is look at my body of work. Look at what I've done. I've worked for the governor, I've worked for the city, and my conservative values... never changed, right? In fact, I continued to advocate for conservative principles and values all throughout, even when it was incredibly difficult at times, and continue to advance conservative causes.

So look at that. I mean, I think that's important. I think that probably speaks volumes. Volumes, yeah. I'm not going to be changed by the environment I'm going to be in. In fact, the environment is going to change because I'm in it. And then also look at some of the people who are backing me, right? Look at the people who are steadfast and true, who are right there with my campaign saying this is the guy. And I think that says a lot.

You know, as I think about your campaign, obviously I made no bones about the fact from the moment you got in the race. In fact, I encouraged you to run. I think that tells people a lot right there. But I think you will do an exceptional job. I look at the swath of people that support you, from Scott Myers to Crystal Kennedy to myself. I know Jamie Allard has supported you. I mean, there's a lot of people in Shugak Eagle River that know you. and have worked with you and have

I know I wasn't the only one encouraging you to run. I know there was multiple of those people that were encouraging you to run. So I'm really excited to see what you potentially can do for Chuyakigo River. But maybe if somebody is listening here for the first time and they haven't heard. from you. If you get elected to the Anchorage Assembly on Tuesday, Election Day is Tuesday, what are going to be your main areas of focus? What would you like to focus on for Chutyac Eagle River?

Yeah, I think what we have to do is we have to protect local control. It seems like there's a real effort at the Anchorage Assembly to make Chugack Eagle River look like Anchorage, and we don't want that. We've got a unique way of life out here. We want to keep it that way. So I'm going to advocate for those values and those safeguards that protect this community. You know, I think that we have to do some serious work on...

on public safety in this city. It's a mess. Last year, you know, they dismissed thousands of cases because they couldn't get them to trial, which means that there's no consequences for crime, but basically, right? If you can go out and you know you're not going to actually be held accountable, then why would you not go out and commit more crimes? And we've seen that trend. And so we need to see a resurgence in public safety. We need to address...

the homelessness situation, because it is getting pretty out of hand. It's been out of hand for quite a while, and this assembly has failed to do anything meaningful on it in years. So it's time to get down to business. get to the brass tacks of good local government. You know, when you talk about, you know, the essentials of local government, right, we start talking about...

Public safety, obviously, if you're not safe in your own home, if you're not safe on the street, if you're not safe when you go to the grocery store. I mean, that is the most essential thing. And then we start kind of expanding it to, okay, what about infrastructure? What about roads? What about basic infrastructure? When we start talking about that kind of stuff and we start talking about the way the Assembly is passing and spending taxpayer money,

Do you think they have all their priorities in line or do you think there could be a shift? Yeah, I think there could be a shift. I think that right now we're... Honestly, I couldn't tell you for sure exactly what their end goal is because it doesn't seem like they have one besides just kind of going from one crisis to another at the assembly. And so, yeah, I think that there needs to be a shift. We need to refocus, get down to what is.

what should local government be doing uh what is the good thing um and when we're talking about that and we're talking about oh let's let's increase taxes for this increase taxes like no like let's let's make sure that we're doing what just the

Let's make sure we're doing what we should be doing. And let's find ways to bring property tax relief. Let's find ways to limit the size and scope of government where maybe we don't need to be super involved in things and just really focus on the things that people should. should expect from their local government. And by the way, that does cross the political aisle, right? This isn't good local government. It doesn't necessarily have to be strictly...

strictly partisan and we're finding that when we're out here talking to people uh you know people who might not have supported me the last year in the senate run who are like yeah i'm supporting you this time because i can see that you know you're competent you know what you're doing you know what you're talking about

And that's what matters in local government, for sure. Well, and I will tell you, as an assembly member, when you get a call for help, somebody has a property issue, they have a road issue, there's a pothole. I guarantee you will never ask them, are you a Republican or a Democrat? You'll say, where's your house? Give me the information. And then you'll start making phone calls to help.

help facilitate fixing it. So, to your point, you know, a lot of these local issues are not partisan issues. It's just basically a good local government. And I love the fact that you brought that up because I will tell you, did I ever ask somebody what their party affiliation was when they asked for help. Yeah, absolutely. And see, that's also part of the problem here. We've got massive out-of-state

special interest groups that are spending heavily in this race. I mean, I'm the number one target in this election cycle right now. And it's kind of silly because it's like this isn't, you know, this isn't really like... There's nothing that partisan about zoning or permitting, right? It's just about common sense. But they're spending money like it's the end of the world. So we'll take them on.

Well, I got to tell you, my friend, I am very excited for this election. The election, the ballots are already out. People already have them on their dining room tables. They're getting ready to fill them in. They can drop them off now. The vote centers are open now, so they can.

They can go in person if they haven't gotten a ballot. They can go vote in person. They can drop off their ballots now. The election is officially Tuesday, April 1st, right? Correct, yep, and you've got until 8 p.m. to get your votes on. Perfect. Well, Jared Gerker, if people want to learn more about you, if they want to follow up, maybe connect with you or just read up on you, where's the best place for them to do that? Yeah, they can go to Jared.

for alaska.com and i'm also on facebook at jared gerker for alaska perfect jared best of luck in tuesday's election i'm pulling for you my friend thank you amy really appreciate it we'll talk to you later All right. We'll talk to you soon. All right. We're going to go ahead and take a quick break. We'll be right back. Welcome back. Current time, 722. Well, I promised I would get into some headlines, and I've got to do it. I've got to do it, Daryl.

Sometimes I get on my rant. I already, my blood pressure is still up from my earlier discussion about the Alaska legislature. If you missed it, you're going to want to replay the hour one because I will tell you, sometimes when you get to hear the inside baseball,

Sometimes it gives you a little different perspective of what's actually happening. Let's just say the word spicy came to mind this morning. And I got to admit that the rosy glow you got going right now is wonderful. It's doing great things for your complexion. Yeah, right. I was going to say my face is probably.

be read well you know i will tell you i yesterday you can't even keep up with trump and all the different stuff he's doing multiple executive orders that i mean he it started on the 22nd and today's the 26th so it's like four days ago right there's been multiple things that i I've been watching the White House do it. I'm like, gosh, I got to get to that. I got to get to that. I got to get to that. But I cannot wait for this one.

Immediate declassification of materials related to Federal Bureau of Investigation's crossfire hurricane investigation. So this is the weaponization of the intel agencies against Donald Trump. He's declassifying them. material. Now, obviously, there will be certain things that can't be declassified in there, right? So when they went and raided his house and they were taking materials that, look, under the Presidential Records Act, the President of the United States

gets to decide what he's going to keep when he's not president. That's it. That's what happens. He gets to decide what is declassified and what is not. So he clearly had the statutory authority to keep different types of material, whatever he deemed was appropriate.

So, obviously, in this investigation, if they go to his house and there are things in there that are sense of nature, that's still going to be classified, right? Or they're not going to release it. I mean, you don't want it. There's certain things you just don't want out there. But when we start looking at this, Trump signed an executive order yesterday.

Memorandum to the Attorney General, the Director of National Intelligence, and the Director of the CIA. Immediate declassifications of material related to the Federal Bureau of Investigations Crossfire Hurricane Investigation. This was the investigation into himself.

When they were going after him, trying to prosecute him for keeping documents, which is ridiculous. Because guess what? They didn't do it to Hillary Clinton, who never had the authority to keep that stuff. They didn't do it to Joe Biden, who when he was a senator. or even vice president didn't have the authority to keep that stuff. But somehow Donald Trump is different.

And we all saw it. I mean, the American people see it. It's the reason he won, right? Because people are tired of this nonsense. But in this executive order, it says, by authority vested in me as president by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America. I hereby direct the following. Except as provided below, I have determined that all of the materials referenced in the Presidential Memorandum of January 19, 2021 are no longer classified.

I have further determined that the material proposed for redaction by the FBI in a cover letter dated January 17, 2021 remains classified. My decision to declassify the materials described above does not extend to the materials that must be protected from disclosure pursuant to orders of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court and does not require the disclosure of certain personally identifiable information or any other materials that must be protected from disclosure under applicable

law so national security stuff right i mean really that's what we're talking about means and methods and potential national security stuff will will remain classified But the reality is, is Trump is declassifying the investigation into himself. I love it. I can't wait to see this. And you know what else he did? I got to tell you. I mean, this just keeps going on and on and on. You know as you start as you start looking at he's going after two

Two different things. He's going after three different things. First of all, he took away security clearances for a whole lot of people, which you probably heard in the news over the last couple of weeks. He's taken a lot of security clearances away. Just the last couple of days, there's been some lively ones. Yeah, he is. And we'll get into that in a second.

But he also is going after law firms that are assisting and that are... uh obstructing potential national security interests let's put it that way so he has two he has two other memorandums he has two other eos basically out preventing abuses of the legal system in the federal courts lawyers

and law firms that engage in actions that violate the laws of the United States or rules of governing attorney conduct must be efficiently and effectively held accountable. Accountability is especially important when misconduct by lawyers and law firms threatens our national security, homeland security, public safety, or election integrity. Recent examples of grossly unethical misconduct are far too common. He goes on to say,

by a foreign national designed to provide a fraudulent basis for federal law enforcement to investigate a presidential candidate in order to alter the outcome of presidential election. Elias also intentionally sought to to conceal the role of his client, failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in the dossier. I mean, Trump's calling it out. I mean, here's the thing.

Perkin Cooey, the Elias Law Group. Now he's going after another one. It's called, here it is. I have it right here. It's like, oh, this is the other one. Hang on. I have it right here. Jenner and Block. All of these law firms that have assisted in these, like whether it was the Steele dossier or whether it was collaborating with the DNC, I mean, whatever it was, all of these law firms.

are now under the microscope, and he's releasing a bunch of information about their involvement. So he has another EOL addressing risks from Jenner and Block. By the authority invested in me as the president, by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered. He goes into the background on it.

He says, my administration is committed to addressing the significant risks associated with law firms, particularly so-called big law firms, that engage in conduct detrimental to critical American interests.

actions and threaten public safety and national security limit constitutional freedoms degrade the quality of American elections and undermine bedrock American principles moreover law firms regularly conduct this harmful activity through their powerful pro bono practices earmarking hundreds of millions of their clients dollars for destructive causes that often directly or indirectly harm their own clients lawyers and law firms that engage in such egregious

conduct should not have access to our nation's secret, nor should such conduct be subsidized by the federal taxpayers' funds or contracts. So he goes on.

To say, Jenner and Block is yet another law firm that has abandoned the profession's highest ideals, condoned partisan lawfare, and abused its pro de bono practice to engage in activities that undermine justice and the interests of the United States. For example, Jenner engages in obvious partisan representation to achieve political ends, supports attacks against women and children based on her refusal to accept the biological reality of sex, and backs the obstruction of efforts to privilege

illegal aliens from committing horrific crimes and trafficking deadly drugs within our borders. Moreover, Jenner discriminates against its employees based on race. and other categories prohibited by civil rights laws including through the use of race-based targets what is he talking about he's talking about this is one of the biggest law firms that is going out that is pro dei and that is is attacking girls in women's sports.

I mean, that's what he's talking about right here. And so what is he doing? He's ordering a security clearance review, and he says the attorney general, the director of national intelligence, and other relevant heads of executive departments and agencies shall immediately take steps consistent.

with applicable law to suspend any activity security clearances held by individuals at Jenner pending a review of whether such clearances are consistent with the national interest. So not only is he looking at a lot of these law firms that are engaging against lawfare or who have assisted the Democrats in weaponizing the DOJ and going after him and political rivals. He's saying, wait a second, all of these law firms, why do they have security clearances? Do they need them?

Probably not. You know what else he's going on? He's going one step further. He has a section here that says contracting to prevent the transfer of taxpayer dollars to federal contractors whose earnings subsidize, among other things, activities that

are not aligned with the American interest, including racial discrimination, DEI, really, government contracting agencies shall, to the extent permissible by law, require government contractors to disclose any business they do with Jenner and whether the businesses related to the subject of of the government contract I mean Trump ain't playing in a second term he is not playing so I wanted to

Look, this is what you've got to do. He's dealing with lawfare, so you've got to cut off the head of the snake. You've got to go into the belly of the beast. You've got to deal with it. Explain to me why all these law firms have security clearances. Unless there's an essential need to know, you don't need it. And I've been saying this for years and years. When you are no longer in public office,

there's a much higher threat. If you're not holding their office, why do you need the security clearance? Look, I don't have keys to APD anymore. I don't need them. I don't work there, right? So why would I retain a backdoor access to get classified information. You shouldn't. You shouldn't. It's just kind of like right now they're all screaming that Elon Musk is accessing secret information. Nonsense. But wait, you're allowing all these lawyers to hold this access to where they may look at it?

I'm telling you right now, Trump has determined it's no longer the national security interest for the following individuals to access classified information. Stinking Anthony Blinken. He took him off. Jake Sullivan. Lisa Monaco. Mark Zade. Norman Eisen. Letitia James. Alvin Bragg. Andrew Weissman. Hillary Clinton. Elizabeth Cheney. Kamala Harris. Adam Kin...

singer, Fiona Hill, Alexander Vindman, Joe Biden, and any other members of Joe Biden's family. Explain to me why any members of Joe Biden's family had any security clearances whatsoever. Letitia James, I mean, come on. Come on. Good for him. At the end of the day, we're going to reinstate some common sense and a need-to-know basis, right? If you don't need to know, you shouldn't have a security clearance. If you're no longer in your job as...

XYZ official in the US government, you need to really prove why you should have a security clearance. And if you've been shown to mishandle classified information, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, you probably shouldn't have access to it. All right. a quick break we'll be right back the truth And nothing but this is the Sean Hannity Morning Minute. The Biden administration funding transgender experiments on animals intended to improve so-called gender affirming care for humans.

is now officially coming to an early end thanks to Doge and Elon Musk shining a light on this gruesome research. Congressman Eli Crane told JustTheNews.com last month that the House Oversight Committee documented $241 million in taxpayer funding for transgender surgery and treatments on animals. Many of the figures cited a recent hearing on federally funded animal cruelty came from the White Coat Waste Project, which documented $10 million spent on transgender rodent and monkey experiments.

Keeping you on the straight path. Later today, it's the Sean Hannity Show. Artificial intelligence. AI. It's all you hear about. But how far away is it? Well, you know, Daryl, I have to tell you, there's so much news going on right now. I mean, everywhere you turn, there's just story after story. I think yesterday, day before.

Even Friday. I mean, I had so many stories that I just... didn't get to because you know i will go on a rant or somebody will call in with something better that i'd rather talk about but you know i had to laugh because this is this is one that just happened So the intel community, CIA director, national intelligence director, FBI director, they're all doing these terrorist type of national security risk announcements, and all the left wants to talk about is this signal group.

I've got to be honest with you. I talked about it yesterday. When you screw up, you admit you screw up, right? There was clearly a screw up. They shouldn't have included a reporter on their signal chat group, no doubt about it.

But I am telling you right now, I know this for a fact. Signal is an app that is used not just in Congress. It's used on the local level. I've used it. I had a member, a staffer from Congress years ago tell me, you're not using you better be using signal and i knew this was somebody who knew what i you know basically If you want your stuff to be more secure, you need to use this type of platform. And so, you know, not always. I still text a lot. But I will tell you, it's very common.

It's very common at a state level, at a local level, at the federal level, for these elected officials to use these messaging apps. I'm telling you, look, I did an interview with the FBI. And they asked me, like, how can you, and I told them flat out, I was like, oh, signal chat group. They're like, did you use it? Yep. I mean, just don't lie about it. If you do it, do it.

And I laugh because some of these Democrats now are so offended that the CIA director and the NSA, you know, all these different people are using this app, right? And I kind of laugh because Fox News has an article up. Look, this isn't new to the Trump administration. The previous administration used the exact same platforms. They were installed on their government computers.

on their government devices. They all use it. They all use it, right? If you have something that's so classified that it can't be said in the app, which classified information shouldn't be said in the app probably, but go into your SCIF. Like, have a face-to-face, right? There's no doubt about it.

The Trump group screwed up by including somebody they shouldn't have in this discussion between the vice president, the CIA director, you know, the secretary of state. You messed up. Just say you messed up. It's not the end of the world, right? I laugh because you have this Democratic senator, Mark Warner.

He's a Democrat from Virginia. He's the vice chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. He was going after them, and somehow, you know, this is so terrible, they're using it. But what he didn't remember is... Clearly, there's a double standard here because even though Mr. Warner was a very big critic yesterday, about them using Signal. He forgot that he used Signal. It worked great for him when he used it to coordinate and talk to

Christopher Steele in 2017. Hmm. This is my point. They all do it. They all use these different types of apps because they're supposed to be more secure. Do I have a problem with people using secure communication apps? No, I don't have a problem with people using it. And if you don't want the government to use it, they need to have something in place that says nobody can use it. But I'm telling you right now, they all use it.

Yeah, they all use it. So I got a question for you. And maybe because you have used Signal, you can answer this. But something that's been nagging at me, biting at me, I don't know how to explain it. Most things when you send to somebody, you have to add them physically. Like if I'm going to send you a text or signal, I would think you would have to add them physically to it, okay? Which means they are in a list you already have. My question is...

Why was our national security advisor having in his list of contacts the head of the editorial department of the Atlantic? a known purveyor of false information and a person, a group of people who hunt down anything they can negative against the president. Why is that person in our national security advisors? His Rolodex, but his list of communicate securely and privately and not known.

Well, I will tell you this. So the way that Signal works is anybody that you have in your phone, if they join Signal, Typically speaking, like all of a sudden, like I'm looking at my Signal app right now. And as I'm going down my Signal app, the third from the top is Chris Constant.

Okay, okay. So people, like he's already in my phone because he's somebody that I've had to work with in the past. I was on the assembly with him. You know, he was in my phone. He was somebody that I had to work with. I also have people in my phone where it says I have their name. and then under it, when it pops up under their company, it says, do not answer. You know, because I'm like, don't talk to this guy. Because sometimes people, when they call you, you don't have them saved in your phone.

I will save people on my phone specifically. Oh, I'm the same. That I'm just like, oh, my. Because otherwise, it's just a number I don't know. So that makes sense. You've cleared. That helps a little. Yeah. Yeah, so sometimes, too, people are signaling me right now. I know who you are, my friend. I know who you are. So other times it's contacts.

pop up on your phone. Like, when certain people join Signal, you know, Chris Constant, for one, when he joined Signal, it all of a sudden gave me a message that said, your contact, Chris Constant, is now on Signal. So those things just pop up sometimes. That's just how it works. So it may not be because he was communicating with him. It may be because he was in a contact list already. And with the do not respond one, I can actually, now that makes a little more sense. I was just, my skin was.

crawling, seeing that he might be having secret backdoor talks with... Well, look, I gotta be honest with you. I would follow up on that question and be like, what's the deal? Yeah, I would follow up on that question. But, you know, that's what I say. You're going to see them casting. They're all so offended about this signal chat group. And the reality was the same people that were offended, that people were discussing stuff in a signal chat group and were being told they weren't.

They weren't sharing war plans, and they're specifically using that term on purpose. Let's not make any mistake about it. The reality was, are those the same people that are so offended, were they offended about Joe Biden keeping classified documents in his garage that all kinds of people, his family, I'm sure, walked in and out of? Were they offended that when he was a senator, he kept classified?

information unsecured no were they offended about hillary clinton's server being in her basement no what about for using pseudonyms on emails to uh foreign diplomats and stuff like that yeah you know what i'm more offended by i'm more offended to them lying to a FISA court to get a warrant to spy on their presidential rival. I'm more offended about that. than I am about the signal chat group. I'll just be candid. So if people aren't offended by both things, the reality is they don't really have

They don't really have a leg to stand on. They're not credible. And I outwardly said, look, they screwed up. There's no doubt they screwed up. All right, let's go ahead and take a quick break. When we come back, we will take your calls, 522-0650. Welcome back to live, local, and insightful Morning Drive Radio on News Radio 650 KENI. Welcome back. I'm going to go straight to the phones, and Alex is with us. Good morning, Alex.

Morning, ma'am. It's been a while. How are you? I know this, Alex. How are you? We'd be good. Good, good. Well, you might know more about Signal than I do. I don't use it very often, but I have it. What are your thoughts? Do you have it? I know absolutely nothing about it, but I have ran across a few other possibilities for what happened that I wanted to suggest. Sure. The most likely is that it was a mistake, a screw-up. Less likely is it was intentional ad by the staffer, enemy action.

Trump administration has been pretty good about house cleaning, and there's not a lot of those folks left around, but that possibility exists. And last but certainly not least is the ad was intentional by the group. And it was intentional in this way. It was a way. to get a message out to the Allies that couldn't go out through normal diplomatic channels. We're not real happy with your behavior or your assistance in this situation.

thing with Yemen and the Houthis. As an extra added attraction, they set up Goldberg, a known bad actor who burned a source. That would be brilliant, actually.

It's entirely too Machiavellian for me, but it is a possibility. You never know. Well, reports are coming out. It was Mike Waltz, one of the deputy intel people that did it. And so he's saying he did it on a... accident we'll see you know here's the thing we probably will never know but the reality is you know it's so funny to see so many uh democrats now feigning offense at them using signal when they all use it that was my point yep

Yeah, absolutely. And you're right on it. Yeah, well, it's great hearing from you. I haven't talked to you in a long time. It's great hearing your voice, sir. Best to you and yours, madam. You too, sir. All right, bye-bye. Well, I have to tell you, speaking about feigning offense, I have to laugh. There's an article in the Daily Caller. Agnes King bewildered as Tulsi Gabbard... why climate change has been omitted as a 2025

a threat in the global threat assessment from the intelligence community. Independent Senator Agnes King of Maine expressed bewilderment Tuesday over the omission of climate change from the U.S. intelligence community's annual threat assessment report released Monday.

The report highlights threats such as cartels, terrorists, adversarial nations, while making no mention of climate change. Actual threats. During the Senate Intelligence Committee hearing on global threats, King said he was, quote, It did not appear assuaged by the DNI director's explanation.

She ordered the report focused solely on the most extreme and critical direct threats to the homeland. So he says he's surprised. You know why climate change wasn't in the global terrorist threat assessment? Because your religion isn't really a threat to national security. He isn't a global terrorist. Yeah. Let's be honest. Climate change is not an existential threat to the United States. Climate change is not a security threat to the United States.

You know what? We're getting out of the world of fanciful, dreamy land, and we're actually dealing with reality in the Trump administration. Trump 2.0, baby. I'm loving it. Loving it. All right, that does it for Daryl and I today. We will be back with you tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. Until then, stay safe. God bless.
