The opinions expressed on the show are those of the host and not of iHeartMedia or its employees. Thank you for listening to NewsRadio 650 KENI. Amy DeVosky. The show starts now. Our lines are open at 907-522-0650. This is The Morning Drive on NewsRadio 650 KENI. Good morning! We have made it to Humpty. It is Wednesday. Let's see, March 5th is the day. Isn't it Wednesday? Today's Wednesday, right? Yeah, today's Wednesday.
those days. I've been looking forward to it all day long. All week long and then it gets here and I'm trying to make it Thursday already, Daryl. Good lord. It's one of those days. One of those days. What am I going to do? So I will tell you... I'm with you on making it a birthday. Trust me. Temperatures are pretty mild. I'm looking... You know, I had to laugh a little bit because...
I was looking at the weather already this morning. I mean, I'm already at 40 degrees here in Palmer right now. Kenai checking in at 39. Big Lake 33. Fairbanks. is 24 degrees. I'm just above them at 33 here in Anchorage. Oh, man. And I'll tell you, we're expecting a little precipitation because I'm looking at Big Lake right now and I left because right now it says 33. And when you look at the graphic, there's little snowflakes.
And I'm like, how in the world is not going to snow today? Their high is supposed to be 43 degrees today. So I'm guessing on rain versus snow. And that's what they're threatening for us here at Anchorage. They say we're going to have a... miscellaneous mixed rain and snow this morning. There ain't no way snow's coming down out there. No way. I was going to say, right now in Palmer, it's 40.7 at my house, at my weather station. That is just crazy for five or six o'clock in the morning.
I know! March? I know. Today, I'm already dressed for work, and I'm not even wearing socks and shoes. I'm just wearing my little slip-on flats. It's like spring weather. I'm willing it. I actually told my brother down in Arizona that it is spring. I mean, I hate to do that and say, you know, the fall spring and everything and get fooled by it. My garden stuff is actually soft. I'm actually getting soft ground, which means things are going to be growing out there.
I got this weird feeling Lion is going to come in like a giraffe and go out like a wallaby. I don't know, man. Well, I have to tell you, I'm willing it. It's happening. I'm accepting it. I'm ready for it. I don't know what to say. It's here, basically. Women actually have a real spring on springtime. Oh, my gosh. Imagine that. Imagine that. You know, I feel like breakups already happen. When Ben comes home from the slope, I'm already going to make him change my tires over. I'm ready for that.
It's like November, I think. I know, I know. Every time I drive on my car with studs on, I'm like, oh, it's time to take my studs off. Time to take them off. Time to take them off. Yeah, I'm like, eh. If it snows, it's okay. That's fine. I'll just drive slow. It'll be fine. We all live, you know, before studs at some point. You know, I got you all this year. I took my studs off on May 12th.
Yeah, yeah, May 12th I took my studs off, so I beat you guys. So you never put studs on this year? Not at once. Is that what you're telling me? Not at once. Well, now that it explains all the times when you do brake checks and you brake free, now I'm understanding why. Well, that's for all those people with radial tires out there. I mean, you don't have to have studs. No, you do not. No, you do not. My dad likes those blizzacks. I'm not a big blizzack.
I don't know. I guess I'm conditioned to studs. See, I hate that sound of studs on the roads, first of all, what you were just talking about. Despise that sound. And secondly, for everyone who complains about the ruts in the road, if you're running... studs, stop your complaining. They're there because of you. Okay? It's flat out that. So I'm part of the problem. I see that. You know, I can't help it, Daryl. I'm drawn to studs. That's why I married a fireman.
Okay, touche. You nailed that one. Yeah. Amy won the internet today. Thank you, thank you, thank you very much. I do appreciate it. All right, well, on that note, I can't beat that one. I can't beat it on that one. I suppose I should do some of my public announcements this morning.
Let's start with the Matsuburo. Today for Wednesday, March 5th, the Talkeetna Sewer and Water Service Area Board of Supervisors is having their meeting today at 1 p.m. They're going to meet at the Talkeetna Public Library. They also have a Teams meeting ID, so if you want to attend virtually, just go to matsugov.us, look down to the calendar, click on the meeting that's interesting to you, and you'll be able to find more information.
5 p.m. tonight, the Waterbody Setback Advisory Board has a meeting. That will be over at the Borough Building in Palmer. It's going to be a lower-level conference room. They also have a team's ID, so you can attend virtually should you so choose. The Kinnick Fairview Community Council also has a meeting tonight. They meet at Settlers Bay Lodge at 7 p.m. And last but not least for the Matthew Borough, the Willow Area Community Organization.
has a meeting, and that will be, of course, at the Willow Community Center. So that wraps up the meetings for the Mat-Su Borough. Again, if you need more information on any of these meetings, just go to mat-su-gov.us. Moving on over, I didn't see anything on the calendar for the city of West Silla or the city of Palmer for today.
So we'll move right into the Municipality of Anchorage. For today, the 5th of March, the Municipality of Anchorage has a couple things going on. There's an Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility Board of Directors meetings today at noon. That'll be over at AWU's headquarters, 3000 Arctic Boulevard.
And then at 3 o'clock today, the ACDA Board of Directors, that's the Anchorage Community Development Authority, Board of Directors, has a meeting. It looks like it's going to be a virtual meeting. They do have an in-person location, though, over there. They're at ACDA's headquarters, which is 245 West 5th Avenue, Suite 122. But they do have a virtual link. So if you want to attend virtually, that'll be at 3 o'clock.
And then we also have a hand commission meeting. I always forget the acronym for this one. It's a health commission. I always forget hand. It's H-H-A-N-D. Health and Human... I don't know what it is. I always forget. And every time I say it, one of my friends will text me and they correct me. But it's a health commission.
So they meet at 4 o'clock today. They'll be meeting at the Anchorage Health Department building, which is located at 825 L Street at 4 p.m. Darrell, did you get the acronym for me? Okay, I knew it. I knew you could. This is the one commission I always forget the actual acronym for. But it's like health and...
Well, I'm sitting here fighting through their website at this moment trying to nail it down. It's from the Housing and Homeless Neighborhood Development Commission. What? Housing and Homelessness Neighborhood Development Commission. Man, that is not – I feel like they changed it at some point because the hand commission was always relating to health and human services. Okay, well, there we go. Housing and homelessness, they ha-ha-ha-ed it for you.
Yeah, but that's what it is. Okay. There you go. See there? Learn something new every day. Every one of us learn something new every day. There's also a plotting commission meeting today. I just clicked out of the screen, so. I can't tell you exactly what time. I think it's at 5 o'clock. We're getting there. Assembly events, municipal events. Let's get back to it. Boards and commissions.
I'll get there eventually. Here we go. You want to hear crazy? Yes. I saw a name on here that I don't know if it's the name that I know, but one of the commission members on it, because there's nine members seated on this. Yeah. The ninth one. is richard maestrom oh yeah probably true i have not heard that name and i don't know how long And I still blame him for Mark Begich. I blame him. Yeah, yeah. I mean, effectively. Well, you know, because I've told you this story before.
Like when George Wirtz was running for re-election as the incumbent Republican, Maestrom... came back out of the past to challenge him and split the vote and gave Mark Begich the mayor's office. If Mark Begich hadn't been, and it was like the third time Begich was running for mayor, if not for that, Begich wouldn't have been mayor. worse would have won reelection he wouldn't have been in the senate and we wouldn't have had obamacare either so i'm still
I'm still a little irritated. I'm still a little irritated with Maestrom over that. It's been years. All right. So March 5th today, we do have a couple of other interesting things. Project Anchorage Town Hall is going to be at the Wildermarson Theater at 6 p.m. today. Taxes. They're going to be talking. They're trying to convince you to pass a sales tax.
How they would spend the money. That's what they're trying to do. And that sounds so good. Kind of like the inflation reduction act. Project Anchorage. Project Anchorage. It's all about Anchorage. No, it's not. It's all about spending. It's all about taking your money.
Wednesday, March 5th, 6.30 p.m., the planning board also has a meeting today at 6.30 in the Lusack Library in the Assembly Chambers, and that really rounds it up for boards and commissions today. If you need more information on any of these meetings, just go to muni.org.
Click on the Mayor's tab and then click on the Events tab. It's like the easiest way to get in. It's a little bit of a stretch for that. For the Anchorage Assembly themselves, they have a Public Health and Safety Committee meeting at... 11 a.m. this morning, City Hall Conference Room 155.
And again, they have public notice, the project Anchorage Town Hall at 6 p.m. today in the Wildemars Theater. That's it for the Anchorage Assembly. I didn't see anything on the calendar today for the Kenai Peninsula Borough. There is a city council meeting in the city of Kenai today. That's going to be at 6 p.m. in the Kenai City Council Chambers, located at 210 Fidelgo Avenue in Kenai.
As far as the city of Soldotna goes, there's a planning and zoning commission meeting in the council chambers in Soldotna. And for the city of Homer, Last but certainly not least, we have a Planning Commission work session that starts at 5.30, followed by the Planning Commission meeting that starts at 6.30. You can attend in person via Zoom or by phone if you need more questions.
information, just go to cityofhomer-ak.gov. And that really does it for our public announcements for this morning, for our local governments. If you need more information on your local government, if you just Google your government Usually, their websites are usually pretty easy to navigate, but they're chock full of information. So I encourage everybody to go to your local website at least once or twice just to see what's there.
and how you can get information. We're going to go ahead and take our first break of the morning. If you'd like to call in and be part of the show, the number is 522-0650. Amy Demboski, 628 Mornings on NewsRadio 650, KENI. Call now, 907-522-0650. Welcome back. in time, 622. Well, I want to remind everybody that the Valley Republican Women's Club is hosting the annual Lincoln Day dinner out here in the Mat-Su on March 15th.
And Nick Begich is going to be the keynote speaker, Congressman Begich. There will be all kinds of things there. Let's see. They have a wall of guns. They're going to have a live auction. They're going to have a silent auction. The meal is going to be sensational. There will be prime rib, chicken marsala. There will be potatoes, vegetables, all the good stuff, desserts, all kinds of stuff. So I do recommend if you like a chance to get some tickets, all you have to do is go to.
vrwak.com, and you can get your tickets there. I went ahead and bought a table last night. So I know, I know, because I said I would do it this week, and I'm going to do it. listeners, anybody who wants to attend, I am happy to invite you to my table. I will be giving away a few more seats here this week, and it will give everybody an opportunity to see Congress.
Baggage, talk to him. I'm sure there will be a lot of locally elected people there. Mike Schauer is going to be the emcee of the event, so it'll be a great time, but I'm a real proponent of people interacting with their elected like it's I think it's really really beneficial and it gives you a different perspective and sometimes it gives them a much different perspective when they can hear directly from you so for me this is an opportunity for me to make sure people get an opportunity to hear
from their elected officials and our newest congressman. This will be his first major event out in the Mat-Su since he's been in Congress. So I'm excited to see him speak. Amy Domboski, giving you a seat at the table. Oh, look at that, Daryl. This is early. I don't even think you've had coffee yet. I've had nothing. I'm still waiting for a drink of water this morning.
Well, we will circle back to the Mat-Su Lincoln Day Dinner. This is going to be, again, March 15th, 6.30 p.m. at Settlers Bay Lodge. If you'd like to get your tickets, you can go to VRWAK.com. I will be giving away a couple of... of seats at the table, so to speak, a little bit later and probably, again, A little bit later this week. I'm not exactly sure which day I'm going to do it, but I've got to fill up the table. So we will do it with our listeners. I'm excited to do that.
You know, Daryl, I don't know, we were talking a little bit during the break, but Trump's joint address to Congress last night, this may have been Trump's best speech yet. I found it entertaining, at least, if nothing else. Yeah, I thought he did a very good job. It ranked right up there for me. I think he covered so many topics I was taking notes during much of his speech. I actually watched it twice. I think the longest joint address to Congress... Probably in history. I think...
If I recall, Clinton was at an hour and 29 minutes, was one of the longest ones ever. And Trump last night went an hour and 39 minutes. You know, if they could cut out all the applauses, it probably would have cut that sucker down by at least 30 minutes. Oh, it probably would have been an hour. I agree with you. Because that's probably what he does. He strips out an hour's speech. But then all the applauses. And, of course, you've got all the boo birds in there.
and the wanting cows and everything else going on. Yeah, it was definitely interesting. I thought it was. I've got to be honest with you, and I said this to my mother-in-law as we were watching it. You know, there's a point I would have just looked at the Republicans and, or not the Republicans. I digress. I apologize. I would have looked at the Democrats and said, shame on you. Their behavior was shameful.
Absolutely shameful. When Obama was president, when he walked into the chambers, everybody stood up and clapped. They were at least respectful. When Bush walked in, they were at least respectful. When Joe Biden walked in, they were at least respectful. The Democrats refused to even stand up.
when the president walked in the room they refused to clap for anything you know and you know trump treated this just like a state of the union effectively he had multiple guests that were invited And, you know, he had a little 13-year-old boy who survived brain cancer who wants to be a police officer that they made an honorary, you know, like Secret Service agent.
And it was very touching. And he had the parents of victims of violent crime there. Really, when you start talking about it, it almost brought me to a tear. Jocelyn and Gary. The 12-year-old in Texas that was, I think it was Houston, wasn't it? Houston. I think it might have been Houston. I do believe it was, yes. Al Green's area. Yeah, she was murdered and brutally assaulted.
by a couple of illegal immigrants. And Trump, she was a big lover of nature, and he named a wildlife refuge after her. And it was very moving. And to see her mom there and to hear the news of that, it was just very touching. And, you know, even when Trump was talking about things that people should all come together about.
Democrats refuse to stand. Democrats refuse to. I think there was a couple of times. I know I'm seeing the news saying, oh, they wouldn't even clap for this or that. I think there were times I saw them. A few of them clapped for certain things. But by and large, they just sat there in things that we should come together and celebrate. You know what it came down to is Trump derangement syndrome is real. No matter what Trump does.
Trump bad, you know, and it started with heckling. And I was going to play the audio clip today of Speaker Johnson, but honestly, as I was watching, you know, I recorded it and I kept looking at it. It's a better video than it is.
and audio because I didn't have the ability to cut out all the extra space and the claps and stuff, and the jeering and the yelling. But Speaker Johnson, I think in the first few minutes, he did a very good job. The Democrats were actually jeering and yelling and screaming. the president from the audience, and it was just inappropriate. You would have thought it was English Parliament. I mean, swear to God, you would have thought it was English Parliament from 2002.
It was so inappropriate. But Johnson basically called them back to order, directed them to follow the rules of decorum. And he ultimately had the Sergeant of Arms remove Representative Al Green from the House chambers because he kept standing up. pointing his cane at Trump, screaming at Trump. There were Democrats yelling from the audience that Trump's a liar, and they're screaming at him, and they had all these little paddles that they're like, oh, you know.
saying things about lies and Trump and Save Medicaid and all those kind of – and Elon Musk. There were a lot of Musk signs. The Musk steal. Those said Musk steal. And I'm wondering, would that not be – I know that they have their laws about libel and all that stuff, but Musk –
isn't an elected official. He is a private citizen, okay? And they are literally, these are members of Congress, people who we are supposed to revere and remember that everything they say should be word up, straight out. If they're saying... Elon steals musk steals Wouldn't that be an impugnment of his of his? Well, I would think so. You can't say somebody has committed a crime when they haven't committed a crime. That's kind of where I'm going at.
you know, like a rapist if they're not a rapist. You can't say somebody is a, you know, is a carjacker if they're not a carjacker. So, I mean, look, I've got to be honest with you. Elon Musk has plenty of money to go after these people if they say stuff like that, so we'll see what comes of it. But I thought it was a very good speech. I thought the Democrats behaved inappropriately.
signs were stupid. I personally thought it was very beneath them, and even for Democrats, and that's saying something. And so as I watched it, I thought Trump and the Republicans, you know, the Republicans were all obviously very ecstatic. They were very happy. Trump kept going at certain points where he was being yelled at, and finally the Speaker took control of the House and called it to order and kicked one out. And once he kicked one out, the rest of them tamed down.
But I will say, I thought Trump did a good job in the speech. I thought he hit on so many topics, I can't possibly cover them all. But I did pull some audio clips for you for today because I feel like... You know, look, we're at one of the most pivotal moments in our nation's history, so why not go to the source? We'll play some audio clips from last night's joint address to Congress in just a minute. We're going to go ahead and take a quick commercial break if you'd like to call in.
part of the show. I'd love to hear what you thought of the President's speech last night. The number to call 522-0650. Reach out to Amy now. 907-522-0650 That's 907-522-0650 It's Amy Demboski on NewsRadio 650 KENI. Welcome back. Current time, 637 on this glorious Wednesday morning where President Trump delivered a joint address. to Congress yesterday. The House and Senate sat as President spoke to the nation for an hour and 39 minutes. It was a long speech and almost no topic was off.
off his radar. I mean, he talked about everything from immigration to tariffs to the war in Ukraine to manufacturing. I mean, it just went on and on and on and on. He talked about every issue. And relatively, I would say, a positive speech for Trump. He was really very much looking forward and saying, this is what we've done so far in the first, you know. 48 some odd days, something like that.
And this is where we're going. You know, we're bringing jobs back. We're dealing with safety and security for Americans, bringing down costs. He has advocated for Congress to make his tax cuts permanent. It's amazing to me when you hear about no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security. Democrats didn't applaud any of that. When you talk about, you know, rounding up gang members and violent criminals, Democrats didn't applaud for that. When you talk about making America safer,
Democrats didn't applaud to that. Nothing. I'm going to play you a couple audio clips. We'll start with clip two, Daryl, if you're ready for that one. Trump, you know, it was interesting because he's addressed Congress now. This is his fifth time addressing Congress. And as he addresses Congress, there's some things that he just called it out. And I've got to tell you, he was actually funny during the exchanges as he was going through.
I thought there were a lot of moments where I actually laughed, where I thought he was upbeat, he was relaxed. I thought it was really good. So here's one of the first ones. We'll go ahead and play that for you. This is Donald Trump acknowledging the Democrats and inviting them to be part of the solution. They heard my words and they chose not to come much easier that way. In comparison under Joe Biden, the worst president in American history.
There were hundreds of thousands of illegal crossings a month, and virtually all of them, including murderers, drug dealers, gang members, and people from mental institutions and insane asylums. were released into our country who would want to do that this is my fifth such speech to Congress and once again I look at the Democrats in front of me
And I realized there is absolutely nothing I can say to make them happy or to make them stand or smile or applaud. Nothing I can do. I could find a cure to the most devastating disease. A disease that would wipe out entire nations or announce the answers to the greatest economy in history or the stoppage of crime to the lowest levels ever recorded.
And these people sitting right here will not clap, will not stand, and certainly will not cheer for these astronomical achievements. They won't do it, no matter what. Five times I've been up here. It's very sad. And it just shouldn't be this way. So Democrats sitting before me for just this one night, why not join us in celebrating so many incredible wins for America?
For the good of our nation, let's work together and let's truly make America great again. All right, so there's Trump. Of course, he was he was. I think this was right after Al Green had already been expelled. But look, he's not wrong. No matter what Trump does, even if it's the greatest thing ever, Democrats are going to resist it because it came from Trump.
Right. That's that's what they're going to do. And, you know, we see it in politics all the time. And, you know, it happens on a local level. It happens on a state level. Whether it's right or not, it does happen. But.
You know, there were certain things that were really not political. When we're talking about celebrating a 13-year-old kid who is a brain cancer survivor, when we're talking about celebrating law enforcement or firefighters that were... were there or you know border patrol agents or you know people that were victims of crime their families being there these are all things that we can all just be respectful and stand and clap right I mean
It's really not that complicated. It doesn't mean that you support Trump's policies because you're being respectful to his guests. that are at the joint address of Congress. But here we are. We have gotten to a point where everybody is so divided. Here we are, where you won't even stand when the President of the United States walks into the room. That's just rude. It's just rude. I mean, I would have stood for Obama.
I didn't like the guy. I didn't vote for the guy. I certainly agree with Donald Trump when he says Joe Biden was the worst president in history. I agree with that. I think he was probably the most corrupt president in history as well. But it's for the office, it's not for the man. I mean, especially when you're a member of Congress.
I mean, it's time and place, people. Time and place. And I think that's what some people, some people just, they can't get past themselves, Daryl. They just can't get past themselves. Well, they've made this cult of personality, which that's the Trump derangement syndrome. But I think one of the really the worst parts of it is several of those, quote, guests were in the house. They were there. They physically were in. I mean, you literally.
It's rude. It's very rude. And how about the young girl, the volleyball player that was there as his guest? Oh, yes. She was one who was injured by a trans player and all of that. And we had all these Democrats dressed in that pretty pink to support women.
women's rights and how that's the, not one of them clapped, not one of them stood up. In fact, they all looked down at their hands. It was very rude. It was very rude. They all voted against, in the Senate, against the girls' bill. They literally all voted against it. It's just rude. It's disrespectful.
And it's intentionally disrespectful. It's just plain root. They have bad manners. And, you know, good for Trump for calling it out. I was glad because the reality is he knew it. This is how bad it is. actually written into his speech because he already knew how they were going to have a haze. Exactly. I mean, that's it. That's it. All right, let's go to Randy. Good morning, sir. Good morning, Ash Wednesday and day.
I wrote my joke down today, so I wouldn't get it. All right, hit me with that. Hit me with that. I got a one-liner from Trump. What happens to Samantha when she gets a cold? Oh, what happens to Samantha when she gets cold? I don't know. What? She gets spellbound. I know what Samantha is talking about. I caught up on that there. Bewitched. Bewitched, right? See, I got it. It took me a second. Okay, I have one for you, Randy. Are you ready?
What do you call a rabbit with fleas? No clue. Bugs Bunny. Yeah, you're welcome. All right, so let's talk about Trump's speech last night. What were your thoughts? I hope you have this on your thing. It's one-liners. He had a lot of good one-liners, such as we don't... We need other presidents that we need to have changed the laws, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, about immigration. And Trump says, we don't need to change the laws. We just need to change presidents.
Yeah, that was a good one. I did not pull that one. That was a good one. There were so many good one-liners. And the struggle for me was I watched the whole hour and 39-minute speech, and then I had to go back and start watching the whole thing again. to find every single little clip. So it was a little challenging. I don't have that one, but I do have another one that I will play as soon as we come back from the break that I thought was a really good one.
Stay tuned, because I do have another little one-liner that he played. Randy, thank you for the call this morning. Great to talk to you. Bye. All right, bye-bye. We're going to take a quick break. We'll be right back. Now, back to the boss. Call 907-522-0650 and be a part of the show on News Radio 650. KENI. I'm going to play for you one of my favorite lines from the speech last night. Look, Trump had some good ones. And I'm going to play longer clips later in the show.
But first, let's play one of them. Trump teased up about weaponization about the DOJ. Here we go. We're going to play it. And we've ended weaponized government where, as an example, a sitting president is allowed to viciously prosecute his political opponent like me. How did that work out? Not too good Not too good
I got to tell you, how'd that work out? Not too good. That was actually funny. I got to tell you, Trump had some funny lines in there. I know. All right, let's go to the phones. And Ken is with us. Good morning, sir. Hey, you got to give the old... Donald Trump, a lot of kudos for not getting more vicious on them, as a matter of fact. When he talked about that girl that was the victim of the illegal immigrants,
He could have looked over at the Democrats and said, you have blood on your hands. Yeah. As a result of their actions. As well as, when he talked about Ukraine, he could have asked them. He just looked over to the right, swung his hand over them. and said, are you a bunch of ghouls that you would like to perpetuate this slaughter and the grinder of people in Eastern Europe? Because that's what they wanted to do. And they admitted it. They sat there and said it.
You know, he actually pulled some punches on them, if you ask me. He could have been much, much harsher on them. Yeah, the only time I, when I saw Elizabeth Warren, Trump referred to, he talked about, you know, the Democrats, some of them wanting to keep this.
war going for another five years and he's like that's what pocahontas would want to do so he took a little dig at elizabeth warren and she clapped and she kept clapping when when he said that so look she took that in stride but the reality All the years is...
is when he brought up Ukraine I'm hearing reports I didn't see it but I'm hearing reports that somebody in the in on the Democrat side started waving Ukrainian flags again they don't clap for American independence they don't clap for American They don't clap for Americans that were there to be celebrated or remembered, but they wave the Ukrainian flag and clap for keeping the war going. I mean, to me, it wasn't a good look.
for them yeah the thing about the little boy was that hurt right there that actually when you saw they couldn't even for that little guy it was and The fallen officer as well. It was horrible. It was really horrible to see the degradation of people in the country that they couldn't, you know what, they're the ones that kept...
The last four years saying we're the party of unity. Oh, horse crap. You guys are just a bunch of just partisan, horrible, wretched, shriveled, nasty little creatures, you know. I do have to say one faux pas. That one always gets me, I'm sorry. That's okay. Yeah, when he said pipeline is going to cost trillions. Oh my God, I hope not. Yeah, I know. And what Ken is talking about is Trump was very focused on Alaska, Alaska's LNG, bringing in investors that will help us basically pay for it.
And he said they're going to invest trillions and trillions. And I thought the same thing. I hope not. That's an expensive pipeline. But, no, I mean, look, he talked about drill, baby, drill. He talked about. you know bringing manufacturing back I thought he did a very good job he covered so many topics at one point I thought okay long enough let's wrap it up but I thought I thought it was a good upbeat positive speech And look, he had a diverse of guests.
there that he celebrated and I agree with you 100% I think there's a time where you put partisanship aside and when it's a joint address of Congress and you're celebrating other Americans I think that's a time you could be respectful and at least stand when a 13 year old is being introduced I mean I think if you don't you're kind of a jerk
Just saying. Well, I know. We would have, people. Of course. Unless you go home and look in the mirror and say, you're just a wretch. And I'll be honest with you. When the next president is there, and it's a Democrat, you know the next Democrat president is there and they introduce their guests and if they have children they're introducing or Americans we shall be celebrating I will call out the Republicans if they're not respectful as well
I think it goes both ways. I know you will. I wish I could be there the 15th, doggone, and I'll be out of town. I know. I would have planned on it. I would have enjoyed it a whole lot. Yeah, you guys have fun. I appreciate it. Next time. We'll talk to you later. All right, my friend. All right, thank you so much.
All right. Well, it was a good speech. I will tell you, on the other side of the break, when we come back in just a minute, we are going to have Jared Gerker with us. He is running for assembly in District 2, the Eagle River District. So we're going to focus a little bit on the assembly.
And then we will come back and talk about Trump and everything a little bit more. But, look, last night's speech was, I thought, a very good speech. It was a long speech. I know I've said that a lot because it was really long. It was very long. And I had to watch it.
it twice. So it was very long for me. You're sounding very Trumpish there. It was very long. It was like the longest of the long. Oh, it was so long. But like I said, there were so many good topics that were covered. So when we come back on the other side of the break, we're going to switch gears.
just a few minutes and we're going to talk to jerry gerker he is running for the anchorage assembly in eagle river uh many of you know him and he is i i don't hide the fact i'm a big gerker supporter so we're going to talk to him and uh talk to him about his ideas coming to Eagle River why he's running all that good stuff and then we will obviously get back into the headlines of the day so stay with us don't go anywhere we'll be right back

really cool thing called presets on it. And if you set our station to the presets or your favorite podcast to the presets, it will automatically load them and be ready to update them. So, hey, it makes it even simpler to listen to the Amy Kamboski show. I love it. See, easy peasy, lemon squeezy. Well, the other thing that's easy is the Eagle River Assembly Race. I'm telling you right now, the choice for me is easy. I got to serve in this seat, and I lived there for a while.
well over 20 years, raised my family in the Chugiak area. I still work in the Chugiak area. And now we have somebody, a fantastic candidate, which I'm telling you is raising the bar here. Mr. Jared Gerker is joining. the show this morning. Good morning, sir. Good morning, Amy. How are you doing today? Oh, fantastic. Jared, I got to tell you, full disclosure, I have told people this in the past.
I don't care what you run for. I will always be there to support it because I know you personally, and I know your work ethic, and I know your intelligence. And I've got to tell you, I'm very excited that you've decided to step up and run for this assembly seat.
Yeah, well, hey, thank you so much. Really, that truly does mean a lot to me, and especially to somebody who held the seat, and you did such incredible work on the assembly, and you've been such a big part of the community for so long. That means a lot to me, so thank you.
Well, let's start with introducing yourself, because maybe people listening today in Eagle River and Chugiak, maybe they don't know you, maybe they've heard of you, but they'd like to know you more. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? Sure. Yeah, so look, military family, right? My dad was in the Air Force. That's how we first came to Alaska. And we got up here and we lived in Eagle River and we just completely fell in love.
And after college, I immediately came back, actually got graduated on Saturday, got married on Sunday and was on a plane on Friday. So we wasted no time again coming home. And, you know, I've been up here. Had the opportunity to do some pretty cool stuff. I worked in the Dunlevy administration along with you.
I worked at the municipality as well. And, you know, I've done I had an opportunity to see the ins and outs of how government functions and operates. And I understand how to make things happen. Right. And and I think that's something that's. People who get elected to legislative bodies sometimes miss, so they don't understand how to pull the levers of power to actually make government do what you want it to do. So I've thankfully had that experience.
Those who don't know, I did run for the state Senate last year. It was following a really just pretty awful situation that happened to my family. My brother was murdered in Anchorage at the end of 2023, and it made me realize. Our criminal justice system is completely broken. And that's, you know, why I jumped in for the Senate, obviously came up short. But following that had a lot, a lot of people, yourself included, you know, who reached out and said, hey, like.
So this message, this message for accountability is needed at the city level, too. And we really want you to consider running for this. And so we thought and we prayed about it, and we jumped in. We decided to get it done. Well, you know, I try to be very transparent with people, and that's why I opened this segment the way I did because... I've known you for a very long time now. Actually, it's been probably since, what, 2018 is when we, I think, first met. Yeah, that's right.
I got to work with you on two transitions. I worked with you at the state. I worked with you at the city. i know you very very well and i've i know your work ethic you're one of the few people that i completely trust and that's saying a lot in politics to be honest with you but um but you know jared it's more than that it's you know
I've seen your heart for service, and I've seen your level-headedness and common sense, even in very difficult situations. And I think that's what Eagle River Chugak residents are looking for. They're looking for somebody who means what they say. and they follow through. So let's talk about your political philosophy. Because when people run for assembly, you know, there's not an RRD on the ballot. They need to know who you are and what you believe. So let's talk about...
who Jared Gerker is from a political perspective, what do you believe? Yeah, look, I think that's great. I'm a conservative. I believe that the best government is a limited government. I think that, especially here at the municipal level, it's gotten incredibly bloated. Any time when we're conniving to find ways to get around the tax cap is an indication that the government's getting too big.
And instead of bringing some sort of relief to property owners and the taxpayers here in the community, it seems like we're just kind of making things worse. So I believe in the limited government. I believe in accountability for government, too. And that's something that honestly gets missed a lot when people are...
talking about their government. They don't expect a lot. They don't get a lot. And I think that's awful. I think that needs to change. People should be able to expect a little bit more from what their government's doing with their taxpayers, with their tax dollars. So fiscally conservative, that's a huge part of where I'm coming from. Tough on crime, I think it's honestly really sad what's happened in our city. They did reporting a few months ago where the city was dismissing.
thousands of cases because they just simply couldn't get them to trial. They weren't able to prosecute these cases. So what does that mean? Does that mean that you've got people out there committing offenses, albeit lower level, like they're not felony level yet, but they're lower level, and they're literally not being...
punished for it at all. There's no accountability for that. It basically means that you've got a free pass to commit crime in Anchorage. And we've seen the effect of that. We've seen the results. And it's bad. It's really bad. And so we've got to do more. You know, that's kind of my general outlook on the world. Physical conservative, social conservative, and tough on crime. Let's get this under control.
You know, the other thing I really love, and, you know, I'm going to toot your horn for a minute because I know you won't do it, but you really do believe in community service. You're not somebody who's just out there and, you know, I'm not involved in the community. You're very involved. You're in the Lions. I know, you know, during your...
During the past year or so, you were volunteering at the Senior Center once a week. So you were there constantly because I saw you there volunteering. I know you volunteer at the Soup Kitchen. So this is, you know, I believe in community. service, and I think this is one more aspect that you can serve the community, but you're somebody who actually believes what you say, so I have appreciated that about you. Then I'm going to ask you a tough question. You look at the Anchorage Assembly.
and you obviously are a staunch conservative, going to work on that legislative body, how do you see your ability to communicate with people or your ability to work with people working with the Anchorage Assembly? Yeah. Look, it is obviously a very liberal body right now. And so... I've got to be able to work with them. I've got to find areas where there's common ground, where I might not get everything that I want, but it's something, right? And so look for the areas where we can agree on.
The areas that we can't agree on hold my ground and not budge because that's what, you know, those values that I would not budge on are the same values for Chugiakago River. So, you know, look for the areas where there's... common ground and do the best you can. And I think that that's going to be one of the important things. Relationships are so important in all of this, right?
being able to differentiate a little bit the politics from the person, and that's important to me. And so, you know, assuming I win this thing, the goal is to sit down and one-on-one and really get to know these folks. you know, set aside the politics and the personas of it. I want to know who you are as a person. I want to understand what it is that makes you tick, because once I understand that, I can work with that maybe a little bit better.
I think that's fair. And the reality is, you know, we've all seen it where there's political people that, even if they have good ideas, that they're immediately dismissed because people just don't like them. And so I think it's important to... remember the people aspect in the politics when it comes to legislators and working with other assembly members, because you do have to get things done. As I'm thinking about Eagle River, I've seen a couple of articles.
It seems like you are the cream that is rising to the top, so to speak. I've seen resolutions come out of the local Eagle River districts from the Republican Party both supporting you. There's two districts in Eagle River. River. And if I'm not mistaken, I think both of them have endorsed you. Is that correct? That's right. Yeah. So we are the technically Republican preferred candidate in this race, which is great. We appreciate that.
Well, that's good because I know some of the people that are in those districts, and they are not always easy to convince, and they're very opinionated, my dear friends that live in Eagle River. I know them well coming from my old district. So that's fantastic. people want to learn more about you, Jared, if they want to learn more about your campaign, talk to you about the issues that are important to them, what's the best way for them to do that?
They can go either to my website, jaredforalaska.com, or I'm also on Facebook, and I tend to be pretty responsive on there as well, at Jared for Alaska. Yeah, that's the page. I'm happy to reach out and talk to anybody. Also, shoot me an email, info at jaredforalaska.com. Jared, and it's spelled. Spell it for us so everybody gets it right. Jared, J-A-R-E-D. Gerker, and that's the hard one, G-O-E-C-K-E-R.
I know. It took me a couple years to actually start to say your name right. All right. Well, Jared, I'm sure we'll talk to you a lot before the election, but ballots are going out soon. The election is going to be April 1st, so that means ballots for the Assembly.
Assembly races are going to be probably coming out in the next couple weeks, right? That's right. The 11th is when the ballots start going out, and this is an all-male election, so definitely keep an eye on that, and we'll be doing the best we can to help folks make sure they get their ballots turned in as well.
All right, Jared Gerker, he is a candidate for Chudiak Eagle River District 2's assembly seat. He is the Republican preferred candidate. He's been endorsed by both Eagle River districts. And if you want to learn more about him, you can go to Jared. for alaska.com jared thank you so much for calling in this morning hey thanks for having me amy appreciate you all right we'll talk soon all right we're gonna go ahead and take a quick break we'll be right back
You're listening to live, local, and always insightful Morning Drive Radio with Amy Demboski on NewsRadio 650 KENI. Get on the show now by calling 907-522-022. Man, Dale, I got to do a thank you shout out. I got to be honest with you. So I've been dealing with this issue at my house for...
a week or so, where all of a sudden, you know, when they build homes these days, when one smoke detector goes off, like the whole house goes off. Oh, I know. And so about a week ago, I had an issue where this one smoke detector, I just had an issue with it.
It kept setting off the alarms in the whole house. And so my husband, you know, he comes home because he was at the store, and he changes the battery, and he's like, oh, it's just a battery. I'm like, okay. And then he goes to the slope, and a few days later, The next thing that happens, all of a sudden, I walk under this smoke detector. I'm looking at it, and I'm like, oh, no, because it's red again. And this is what happens before the whole house goes off.
And then yesterday morning, so I take it down. I go to buy a new smoke detector. Of course I buy the wrong one. And I just think, I'm just going to leave it down. That's it. I'm just leaving it down because when Ben comes home, he can deal with it. Yesterday morning, 4.56. All of a sudden, the smoke detector in my main living room starts chirping, and I look, and it's red, and I'm having a panic moment because I'm going to go on the air in like an hour, and this thing is like...
20 feet 25 feet in the air i mean it we have vaulted ceilings so it's like i'm like how the heck do i get i'm like i have no choice here like i'll have to call the fire department Yeah, my husband's like, well, because the problem is, because I've been having issues, when it chirps, then it sets off the, like, it's not just like your battery's dead. Like, I was having an issue, and the whole system would go off.
And I can't do a radio show with my fire alarms going off, right? So I'm like panicked yesterday. So I call my friend Igor Galloway, who built my house, and Intelligent Home Designs, fantastic house. By the way, if you haven't been to my house, house before. Fantastic. It's great. But he's like, hey, I'll have a friend go over there. So he calls his friend Northland Homes, reliable electric, you know, Peter Fonoff.
And he calls them, and Peter calls me, and he's like, hey, what's going on? And I tell him. And so those guys come over yesterday. Like, drop. Everything squeezed me in, come over, and I had like a loose neutral wire apparently in one of the detectors, which kept obviously setting this one off. They were, like, so efficient, and I couldn't believe it. Like, they got way up.
way up in the ceiling, and they were able to bring in a very big ladder and get up there. But, you know, I got to tell you, this customer service, reliable electric, if you have any issues whatsoever, You know, they also are affiliated with Northland Homes. Those guys are sensational. I was so impressed, and they were so nice. So I just wanted to say a special thank you to them. All right, let's...
I just want to say, I'm really surprised with that one that was so far up on your ceiling there that you didn't pull out a shotgun and just take it out. I've got to be honest with you. I was like telling my husband, I'm like, I don't know what to do. I'm like, this thing, you know what's going to happen. It's going to go off.
middle of the show or two o'clock in the morning. That's why I can see you just walking into the house with a shotgun going, ba-boom, ba-boom, ba-boom. I know. All of them are gone. No more notes. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, but, you know, it's just so nice to have people that are, like, dedicated to customer service. That is awesome.
willing to help a neighbor, and so they didn't have to, and they did. They dropped everything, so I just want to say a special thank you to them. All right, let's go to the phones, and Bruce is with us. Let me see if I can pick him up. I'm having issues. Daryl, can you pick him up for me? Good morning, Bruce. How are you, sir? He is heavy. Holy cow. Did you watch Trump's speech last night?
Oh, come on. Of course I did. But before I talk about that, I want to say, hey, let's get Jared elected. Eagle River messed up by not electing him. Let's get him on the assembly. He's a great guy. Yeah. But first, let me talk about three things that I took from Trump's speech. Number one, it was probably one of his best speeches, and his showmanship really came out. It was a real victory lap, and he did really well.
I think we went in shock because we're not used to a president getting up there and speaking like that in a showmanship. It's been kind of dead for the past four years. Right. Number two. I'd also like, hopefully our legislators in Juneau were listening when he was talking about Alaska and what they want to do for Alaska. Because right now it doesn't seem like they're listening.
Number three, and this is probably the thing that really bothered me the most, that really just hurt my heart, the Democrats and their reactions and the way they acted. This is what our country has come to. This is the left, not only at the national level, but the local level and the state level. And it's really bad.
It was sad. You know, like I said, there were things that they should have come together and I thought honored and been respectful. I think the fact that they absolutely refused to even stand for the president of the United States when he walked in the room, I thought it was disrespectful, especially coming.
from a member of Congress while they're in session. I thought it was just rude. And I thought it really hurt my heart when I saw these kids that were there. They refused to be respectful to those kids and honor those children that were there. survivors, the family members, you know, the Custom and Border Patrol officer that was there. You know, these people are heroes. These people, their loved ones are heroes. They've been through it. Many of them that were honored last night.
where family members have fallen. And I just thought it was incredibly rude. I thought it was disrespectful. And I think it was, honestly, even for the Democrats, I think it was beneath them. I think it was just they didn't help their cause at all, ingratiating themselves to the Americans. public no not at all and it it was just so disappointing you know like you said not standing up for the kid not not standing up when he renamed that park for that little girl in the tragedy
And, you know, when I was talking to Daryl, how about they're wearing pink for women, but they voted down men in women's sports? It's just I don't understand today's Democratic Party. It used to be. You know, we had a few different ideas, conservative, Democrats, GOP, whatever. But now they are so far extreme, I don't even know what they want or what they're for. It's like they just totally want...
Total anarchy and destruction in this country just ripped apart. I don't know the word for them to describe them. It's just disappointing. It really is. It really was. You know what I saw is I think I saw a party that would cheer for the destruction and the failures of the U.S. to win their political gain or just to beat their political rival. That's what I saw. I saw a party that.
that refused to come together to celebrate America, to celebrate Americans. I saw a party that was being divisive just to be divisive. That's what I saw. And I don't think it helped their cause at all. And did you see there was an MSNBC, one of their reporters, what she said about the 13-year-old boy with cancer, if he grew up to be a cop, that...
Somehow there might be J6 Trump protesters and he might die from that. Did you see that? Yes, MSNBC, I think it was. I know. I mean, you know, it was just it was disgusting. And their behavior. was just appalling, so I was not happy with it. I watched it, and I thought, come on. I mean, there's a time and a place, right? There's a time and a place, and that wasn't it. And we all know you don't like Trump, but why do you have to take it out on his gas?
guests at a joint session of Congress. It's just rude. And so I don't think they did themselves any favor. I think your three takeaways are probably good ones. I've got to tell you, that speech was action-packed. It's full of it. We're going to take a quick break. play a couple more clips from it. All right, Bruce? All right. Bye-bye. Have a good day. Bye-bye, my friend. All right. We'll be right back.

We believe in free and fair trade. That means it's a two-way street. And America, the days of taking advantage of America are coming to an end. Welcome back. Okay, I'm going to do my best to play you as much as of the, you know, joint session of Congress that President Trump gave yesterday. I'm going to start with an audio clip where he started talking about the waste, fraud, and abuse, what they're actually finding at Doge. You're going to hear some applause.
I might cut it off a little short so we can go to commercial because I want to be able to play you also the end of Trump's speech in the next segment. So we're going to go ahead and start with this one. This is where he's starting to discuss doge. Go ahead, Daryl. And to that end, I have created the brand new Department of Government Efficiency. Goge. Perhaps you've heard of it. Perhaps. which is headed by Elon Musk, who is in the gallery tonight.
Thank you, Elon. He's working very hard. He didn't need this. He didn't need this. Thank you very much. We appreciate it. Everybody here, even this side, appreciates it, I believe. They just don't want to admit that. Just listen to some of the appalling waste we have already identified. $22 billion. from HHS to provide free housing and cars for illegal aliens. $45 million for diversity, equity, and inclusion scholarships in Burma.

Asia is doing very well with learning.
You know what we're doing. We should use it ourselves. I got to tell you, Daryl, you know, this went on and on. I could have gone on for another two minutes, but at some point we got to cut it short, you know. But Donald Trump really highlighted. for a lot of people.
the ridiculousness of the spending that has been happening and the grift that has been happening. And I think he did a really good job. We're going to go ahead and take a quick break so I can have a little bit longer of a next segment because I want to play for you his closing remarks. I thought he did a very good job. job. Stay with us. We'll be right back. Welcome back to live, local, and insightful Morning Drive Radio on News Radio 650 KENI.
Welcome back, Current Time 746. Well, Donald Trump addressed the nation last night in a joint session of Congress. I thought he did a very good job, and the speech, I mean, covered everything. I didn't pull for you when he was talking about Social Security, because at some point, you know, you only have...
You know, two hours on the radio. There's only so much you can get in. But there was points where he was going through the number of people in the Social Security system that were over the age of 100. And he did them in chunks, right? And, you know, the Democrats were sneering, and one of them was holding up signs saying lies, all this kind of stuff. Like, obviously, if they're there, they're there. It's not a lie, right? And he highlighted one person in the Social Security system, 300.
360 years old. That's 100 years older than our country. I love that one. Obviously, that one's not correct, right? Meaning, you know, there's obviously not somebody alive that's 360 years old. But this highlights the fact that the government has to get their data correct. What about Nancy Pelosi? I don't know, but I want to take her class on stock trading. Okay, so what we're going to do now is we're going to go ahead and play for you.
The end, the closeout of Donald Trump's speech last night, it will leave you, I think, with a very positive feeling. This is what the president... is shooting for. He's trying to bring the country back. He's not only back from... a very politically divisive country that we are, but I think to a safe and prosperous nation. And I think that's the message that comes across. So here is the President of the United States in his closeout to his address to the nation last night.
Thank you very much. From the patriots of Lexington and Concord to the heroes of Gettysburg and Normandy, from the warriors who crossed the Delaware to the trailblazers who climbed the Rockies, and from the legends who... Sword at Kitty Hawk to the astronauts who touched the moon. Americans have always been the people who defied all arts, transcended.
all dangers, made the most extraordinary sacrifices and did whatever it took to defend our children, our country and our freedom. And as we have seen in this chamber tonight. That same strength, faith, love and spirit is still alive and thriving in the hearts of the American people. Despite the best efforts of those who would try to censor us, silence us, break us, destroy us.
Americans are today a proud, free, sovereign and independent nation that will always be free and we will fight for it till death. We will never let anything happen to her. beloved country because we are a country of doers dreamers fighters and survivors our ancestors crossed a vast ocean strode into the unknown wilderness and carved their fortunes from the rock and soil of a perilous and very dangerous frontier. They chased our destiny across a boundless continent.
They built the railroads, laid the highways, and graced the world with American marvels like the Empire State Building, the mighty Hoover Dam, and the towering Golden Gate Bridge. They lit the world with electricity, broke free of the force of gravity, fired up the engines of American industry, vanquished the communist fascists and Marxists all over the world.
and gave us countless modern wonders sculptured out of iron, glass, and steel. We stand on the shoulders of these pioneers who won and built the modern age. These workers who poured their sweat into the skylines of our cities. These warriors who shed their blood on fields of battle and gave everything they had for our rights and for our freedom.
Now it is our time to take up the righteous cause of American liberty. And it is our turn to take America's destiny into our own hands and begin the most thrilling days in the history of our country. This will be our greatest era. With God's help over the next four years, we are going to lead this nation even higher. And we are going to forge the freest.
most advanced, most dynamic, and most dominant civilization ever to exist on the face of this earth. We are going to create the highest quality of life. Build the safest and wealthiest and healthiest and most vital communities anywhere in the world. We are going to conquer the vast frontiers of science and we're going to. Lead humanity into space and plant the American flag on the planet Mars and even far beyond.
And through it all, we are going to rediscover the unstoppable power of the American spirit. And we are going to renew unlimited promise of the American dream. Every single day, we will stand up. And we will fight, fight, fight for the country our citizens believe in and for the country our people deserve. My fellow Americans, get ready for an incredible future because the golden age of America has only just begun. It will be like nothing that has ever.
been seen before. Thank you. God bless you. And God bless America. All right, there you have it. The 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, closing out his first joint session of Congress in this second term of his, so technically his fifth. But I thought it was a good speech. It was a long speech. I think it was a history-making speech. It was an hour and 39 minutes long. He covered so many topics. He talked about reciprocal tariffs.
He talked about those coming into play as of April 2nd, saying if other countries are going to tariff us, we are going to reciprocate with like tariffs. And what you're seeing is you're seeing massive investment that is going to be poured into the U.S. Why?
Because people don't have to pay these tariffs. Companies don't have to pay these tariffs. All they have to do is house their companies here in the U.S., build their products here in the U.S., and guess what? No tariff. And we're already seeing it. Why? Because unlike Ukraine, Taiwan was smart, and yesterday they agreed that they were going to be building and manufacturing.
Right here, semiconductors in the U.S., a deal worth some estimates are about $160 billion. They're going to be building semiconductors here in the U.S. Remember. You know, Taiwan has potentially always been very susceptible to being taken over by the Chinese. Taiwan is smart, and they realize that they have this very close economic relationship with the U.S. then it protects them from China. Now, Ukraine...
They had the opportunity to have a minerals deal with the U.S. I think they still do have that opportunity, but it would link the U.S. very closely with Ukraine and give them some sense of security. by doing so having those close economic ties so let's see if Zelensky gets the message but I will tell you in Trump's message
His administration is talking about ushering in the golden age, according to Must Read Alaska, which may be the greatest era in the country's history. He went through a long inventory of his recent executive orders, getting lots of applause from the Republicans. None from the Democrats. But in his speech, Trump mentioned that he loves Alaska and is going to make Alaska LNG pipeline a reality with deals underway with Japan as a buyer. Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy wrote,
committed to our LNG pipeline. Beautiful Alaska. We love Alaska. President Trump's support for AKLNG will ensure this massive LNG project is completed and clean Alaska gas supplies our Asian allies and our Alaskan residents for decades. to come thank you Donald Trump and quote that coming from Governor Dunleavy so the response from multiple people has been very positive even I'm actually seeing positive things in the media
on both sides, actually, on Donald Trump's speech. Now, some of the hardcore partisans, no matter what Trump does, he could cure cancer and he'd still be bad orange man. That we know. But we have to get past that and say, how do the American people respond to his message? And I will tell you, I think people are very happy with the fact that Donald Trump is doing exactly what he was elected to do.
Oh, I think you're right. You know, I think Lisa Murkowski probably responded with a double shot at Alka-Seltzer. And Nancy Pelosi, probably just a double shot. Yeah, or something, or something. Daryl, I can't top that, so I guess we're just going to end the show right there. It was a great day. All right, folks, starting tomorrow, I will start giving away seats to the table for the Lincoln Day dinner.
out in the Valley on March 15th. If you haven't got your tickets yet, you can go to vrwak.com and get your tickets, or you could just call in and potentially get to sit at my table. That's it for Daryl and I for today. We will be back with you bright-eyed and bushy-tailed tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. Until then, stay safe. God bless.
