The opinions expressed on the show are those of the host and not of iHeartMedia or its employees. Thank you for listening to NewsRadio 650 KENI. Amy Demboski, the show starts now. Our lines are open at 907-522-0650. This is The Morning Drive on NewsRadio 650 KENI. Good morning. It is Tuesday, February 4th. Current time, 6.06 a.m. How's your morning, Daryl? Not bad. Not bad at all.
So yeah, started out pretty good. Managed to get me a nice cup of hot cocoa coffee going. Temperatures, I can live with them. They're in the, you know, single digits, but just right about 10, so. Not too bad. 9.10. Yeah, not too bad here. 10.5 is what I have in Palmer. Kenai's checking in at 8. So, you know, I got to just say, I like seeing double digits right now. I agree.
I'm about tired of winter, even though Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow. So six more weeks is what they say. And I forget what they call the ground squirrel up here. It's funny. I was just trying to think of that, too. He saw his shadow also. Yeah, that's what I heard. And so six more weeks of winter is what they said. We were always raised calling those whistle pigs.
Whistlepigs. Whistlepigs, yeah. Groundhogs, marmots. I have never heard the term whistlepig in my life. They were called whistlepigs because like you go up in Hatcher Pass and you're blueberry hunting or you're stomping around looking for gold and you'll hear them. They whistle. They stand on top of the big rocks and whistle.
And so that's how you know. Yeah, that's how you know that you're in their area. Because they'll literally, little suckers will just get up there and just start whistling away at you. Whistle pigs. Whistle pigs. Look. Every day working with Daryl, I learn something new. Sometimes there's things I don't want to know, but I learn something new every day. Every day.
Well, I suppose, you know, gosh, I was thinking about it. I should have made my cup of coffee before we started. Because now all I'm thinking about is that Texas squash. Well, see, and I saw you grab that glass of water. And to be honest, the way you grab that, that glass of water. like floated. Well, it floated onto the screen without your hand. So I literally am like going, glass of water. I thought somebody was there with you like handing you water. I'm like, what? Oh, no, it's Amy. Okay.
Nah, it's just me and Bruce upstairs. If Bruce hands you water, I'm worried. Yeah, exactly. He has no opposable thumbs. It would be difficult. It would be very difficult. All right, well, I suppose we should get into some of our public announcements. There's not a ton of them today. There are a few, but just a few, not a lot.
For the Matthew Borough, the only thing we see on the calendar for today is they do have a regular assembly meeting at 6 p.m. Of course, that's going to be over there at the assembly chambers located at 350 East Dahlia Avenue in Palmer. If you want more information, including their agenda, just go to their website, matsugov.us, and you'll be able to find that there. All righty. And then moving over, I didn't see anything on the calendar for...
the City of Wasilla. However, there's an interesting little graphic on the City of Palmer's website. It's not on their calendar, so obviously it's been canceled, but... They have a big banner on their website that says, no city council emergency meeting on February 4th. So clearly they noticed it at some point. I didn't see it, but there is none today.
So they have an announcement that they have no emergency meeting today, which is not on their calendar. I am glad they cleared up that confusion for me now that I'm thoroughly... Confused. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So if you want more information on the calendar for Palmer, just go to palmerak.org. But again, they do not have an emergency meeting tonight.
For the Municipality of Anchorage, the only thing I see for boards and commissions is there's a Geotechnical Advisory Commission Communications Committee meeting at noon today via Teams. So if you want to attend virtually, you'll need to get the link. Just go to muni.org. Click on the Mayor's tab, and then click on the Events tab, and it'll bring you to boards and commission announcements. As far as the Anchorage Assembly goes, there's nothing on the calendar for today.
But if you want to track their calendar, just go to muni.org and then click on the assembly tab. I bet right now they're probably going to go out to the new casino and try it out since I was, you know, on Tuesday night and just go see what they can win. Wait, I took a new picture. I took a picture for you yesterday. Oh, most excellent. So I'm going to text it to you. I'll text it to you during the break. Okay. But, yeah, I went by there yesterday, and there was probably...
Oh, I would say eight to ten cars in the parking lot. Something like that. It's like a dirt parking lot. They have... I mean, that's all it is. They have these concrete barriers, like, up, making it look like rows for your parking spots. And there's probably 8 to 10 cars out there. And they have a new graphic sign-up. You know, there's a very strict sign law. Anchorage, very specific.
It was amazing to me how fast they got their sign-up. But, you know, the native village of Maklutna has an overlay district, so they have special rules. So that's probably why they were able to do it. But what are you going to do? There you go. And like I said, they're opening last night, yesterday afternoon. They officially opened their doors.
To the general public? I'm trying to find. I think there was like from 1 to 9 or something like that. It's on the sign I sent you. It's, yeah, 1 to 9. And then Friday and Saturday is 1 to 10. So my question is, do they have running water and toilets now? From the last I heard, they still have the outhouses, the port-a-johns out there. And I guess it holds 85 electronic gaming machines, which they eventually plan to go to 700.
That's a lot. I mean, personally, that's a lot of gaming machines. That's a lot of gaming machines. Yep, we'll see. We'll see. Well, there you have it. Yeah, I already sent you a picture. I didn't wait for the break, you know, because... That's how I roll. I multitask. But if you do want to track what the Anchorage Assembly is doing, they have a couple of work sessions going on this week. They have a public health and safety committee meeting tomorrow. And they do have a work session.
on Friday, one of them is to appoint or do a confirmation hearing for the new public transit director. If you remember, Jamie Acton left. She went to work for the feds down in Seattle. Bart, rather, is his name. It looks like he's getting promoted, so he'll do a fun job, I think. There you go. So anyways, there's a number of these meetings for the Anchorage Assembly I think Friday that will get your
Get your attention if you want to look at them again muni.org just click on the assembly tab and then as I Looked through the calendar on the Kenai Peninsula borough. I didn't see a lot on their calendar The City of Kenai is the only one I noticed they have anything on their calendar today. The Seldovia Recreational Service Area Board has a meeting from 515 to 715. Of course, that's going to be at the Sea Otter Community Center in Seldovia.
Borough Assembly does have a meeting tonight. That's publicly noticed from 6 to 8 at the Kenai Peninsula Borough. building, 144 North Binkley Street in Saldotna. If you want more information, just go to kpb.us. Again, that stands for Kenai Peninsula Borough, so kpb.us. And that really does it. I don't see anything else on the calendar for the city of Kenai, Saldana, or Homer for today. So a pretty light day as far as announcements go.
If you have an announcement or something fun that you know that's going on that people should know about, I'm always happy to plug it. All you have to do is give me a call. The number to call is 522-0650. We're going to go ahead and take our first break of the morning. When we come back, we are going to get into the headlines of the day. It's going to be an action-packed show. I have tons of intel. So we'll get into that and so much more. Stay with us.
Amy Demboski, 628 Mornings on NewsRadio 650 KENI. Call now, 907-522-0650. Welcome back. I'm 6, 17. You know, Daryl, you could tell I was kind of everywhere. Like, I had a little sense of humor in my show prep yesterday. And I was, you know, there's certain things I really want to get to because I think.
It gives you context. I'm trying to do more and more audio clips because I like giving people primary source intel. Like, rather than just read, you know, what somebody said. Straight from the horse's mouth. the audio clip, you always have to be careful in radio because, I mean, even Trump the other day said the word BS, but he said the whole word. Do you know what I mean?
So, I mean, you can't play that on the radio. So you have to be careful what people, so you have to preview everything. And you know what drives me crazy is when people, like, overlay music on it, I'm like, okay. So then you have to go find the original audio clip. Every now and then I'll be lazy and I'll just pull it even if there's a little music.
But I really try to do it, and I like to make Daryl's life easier. So when I'm pulling some of these clips, I will actually record them into my system and then send them to him as an audio clip. Already trimmed up. It's nice. Yeah, it makes his life a little easier. I will go crazy like last night I sent him four and then I turned around and I said
Wait a minute, there was one more that I really wanted to play, and I'm going to save the Rubio one until like 7.35 segment. Okay, now that last one came through at like midnight, I think it was. No, I was in bed by midnight. It was like 10.30 maybe. You had probably felt like... You know why it took so... Okay, this is first world problem. But, you know...
These days, a lot of people have everything set up on auto pay, right? Right. So everything gets charged to my Alaska Airlines credit card, and then, even though I like flying Delta, just throwing it out there, even though, so I get everything charged to that, and then I just pay it off every month. Well, my stupid credit card was expiring this month. And so I was like, gosh, I have to go back through and update. It took me like an hour and a half.
Because, first of all, I had to go pull my old credit card statements to make sure I was, like, getting everything I could think of. Well, that's what's good. Did you find them all? I'm probably not, but I think I did. You know, you'll get that notice, like, hey, your credit card's expired. It's the only one you'll get.
The one that you only up once a year and you're just like, oh, man. Well, see, I thought about that because, like, my insurance company, for example. So, like, I am, like, well overly insured. I'm insured on everything. Like, I have insurance on my six-wheeler. and four-wheelers and all the little toys. And I have, like, umbrella policies. I'm, like, overly insured. You insure your umbrellas? Really? Right. Next time you insure your raincoats, too.
Yeah, I'm overly insured. Let's just put it that way. But I do it on purpose because, you know, especially when you're somebody in the public, you know, like it's not uncommon. Well, I wouldn't say it's not common, but. The potential to be sued for something is probably there. Let's just put it that way. So, you know, anyways.
I digress. So I thought about some of these yearly things, but I don't know. It took me, like, forever. That's why my show prep was late. That's my excuse, Daryl. Okay, okay. I'll accept it because I had to go through that when my card... got shut down because of a single word that I said to the bank and that was just a horrible experience and I had to go through and all that and I had one just come up that's a yearly one.
like two weeks ago, and they were like, we've canceled your subscription because you didn't pay us on this, and I'm like, what, what, oh. You know, every now and then you'll get something that you subscribe to, and then you can't cancel the dang thing. I have a friend who a long time ago, like years ago, like three years ago, she signed up for the NFL channel or whatever, and she wanted to watch a game.
And now for the past... like three years they keep charging her a yearly membership and she has she has gone to her she has gone to her bank she said put a block on this do not let this go through and she and it keeps going through over and over again and this has been like three years
now I mean it's like the one thing that triggers her beyond belief because she's like I wanted like she's watching one game and now they're charging her like yearly and she's called them she's like cancel it I don't want this she's trying to challenge it with her car like Every year she still keeps getting charged. So there's always something that just drives you crazy.
Anyway, I digress. So last night, as I'm doing my audio clips, I have to laugh. So, okay, let me see. I named them all here. Let's do one first, but don't hit play yet, Daryl. That's the DNC. You know, the race for chair, the Democrat National Committee. Dear Heavenly Jesus, I don't know what the heck is going on over there, but, well, let's just see. You know, the DNC has their race for chair, and did you see they picked their vice chair as David Hogg?
That was actually really funny when I saw that because the picture I saw of him, he was standing there with his arms straight, power fist up in the air, and I'm thinking to myself, man, they just excoriated Elon Musk for that pose. But, again, if there was no such thing as a double standard, Democrats would have no standard at all, let's be honest. But, you know, I kind of chuckle because they go through this.
they go through this process to elect their new vice chair and chair. And I just kind of chuckle because as they're going through their process to elect their people, You know, of course they start with land acknowledgments and all that nonsense.
But then you turn around and, you know, everybody has, like, an opening statement. And they have, you know, 30 seconds to give an opening statement. We're talking about... for the chair of the democrat party this is a nationwide seat you'd think you'd have some serious people there and the thing that was so amazing to me is doctor yes i said doctor quintessa hathaway She's first up. She gets her 30 seconds, and this is her opening statement. Again, with the opening statements, each candidate.
We'll have 30 seconds, and we'll start with Dr. Quintessa Hathaway. Good evening, everyone. It is my desire to be the next DNC chair, and I just want to give you all a little bit. Of something that's been on my heart here over the last couple of days. You fight on. You fight on. You fight on. You fight on. When your government is doing you wrong, you fight on. Oh, you fight on.
You fired on. Okay. Well, she has some pipes on her, right? No doubt she has some pipes on her. But I'm thinking, like, this is somebody with a Ph.D. Somebody you would think is serious. This is your opening statement. This isn't like an episode of some reality TV show. This is for the chair of the Democratic National Committee. I thought it was the opening of a gospel session, but okay.
It was bizarre. Well, then they turn around, and I think my second clip, Daryl, my second clip from the DNC, because every now and then you've got to peek behind the curtain and say, you know, what are these guys up to? You know, why, you know, how are they, how do they go through their process? Because we know their process for president. was not, let's say, a democratic one. It was an installed one, right? They didn't vote for Kamala. Kamala was just like anointed.
So I would say the Democrats aren't super, super strong on democratic process. But then, you know, maybe they're trying to change their ways. Because I had to laugh when I listened to this guy. He starts explaining all the rules. about this is how we are going to elect our people. You know, we're going to go through this process. And I just was listening to him, and I'm thinking,
This is why you people lost. Go ahead, Gerald. Rules specify that when we have a gender non-binary candidate or officer, The non-binary individual is counted as neither male nor female, and the remaining six officers must be gender balanced. With the results of the previous four elections, our elected officers are currently...
two male and two female. In order to be gender balanced we must we must elect one male one female and one person of any gender so again this is what we have to do for this vice chair race we have to elect one male one female and one person of any gender To ensure our process accounts for male, female, and non-binary candidates, we conferred with our RBC co-chair, our LGBT caucus co-chair, and others
to ensure that the process is inclusive and meets the gender balance requirements in our rules. To do this, our process will be slightly different than the one outlined to you earlier this week, but I hope you will see that in practice it is simple and transparent. The order of balloting is designed to ensure equal access to the ballot, regardless of gender identity. As we must elect a candidate of any gender, as well as one male and one female vice chair,
we will first ask members to elect a candidate of any gender on the first ballot. Any candidate, male, female, and non-binary can be elected on that ballot. After a candidate is elected on the first ballot, We'll have one officer of the three, so then we will know which position is filled of the one male, one female, and one vice chair of any gender. Our second ballot would also...
be for a candidate of any gender. Then our third ballot will be the third position that is remaining based on the two results. Either a male candidate, if a candidate that is not male has not been elected, or a female candidate, if a female has not been elected. Okay, I've got to be honest with you. As I'm listening to this, it's like so painful for me. Like, my ears are bleeding. Like, you know, this is where I'm confused. This is why they lost. And they still don't get it.
This is why they lost and they still don't get it. Because you know what? They are deviating from the mass majority of normal Americans. You know, this is what I'm confused about, Daryl. When he says they're going to elect one male. one female, and one of any gender. Couldn't you get two females and two males then? I mean, you get two females, one male, or you could get two males, one female, but does the word now, any, equate to non-binary?
See, it's funny because you asked it that way, and I kind of thought of that also. But then as I listened to him more, especially the very end of it, I realized that they actually have categories where...
Only men run against men and women run against women. Because if you've already got your non-binary gender one over here in this vote, then you only have to vote for males in this one. So you're not having any non-binaries vote against or go against the males or the same with the... females you've already had the females going so the females get their own election without
any non-binaries or males in it. Well, you know, and I laugh because as I'm listening to him, I'm like, okay, what he keeps saying is we can have one female, one male, and one of any gender. But then as he's explaining... it he explains it like like you said it's like okay so then you have basically a non-binary category
But he keeps saying you can have one of any gender. Any gender to me means, you know, male or female. Right. But they think there's like 27 genders. So, you know, as I'm listening to these little clips from the DNC, I'm like, y'all are wackadoos. man. Like, what is going on in your party? Because there's no words. There's just no words. I just listen to it. I'm like, these people, man. I don't even know what to say, Daryl. I don't even know what to say.
I literally, like I said, he had me thoroughly confused. Then we got to the end of it and I focused in on weight. So we're girls against girls, boys against boys. Okay, I get it. Now I understand. We're all about girls against girls and boys against boys. Exactly. Oh. Well, you know. When we moved past the DNC nonsense that happened, yes, they did elect their new DNC leader, right? Like I said, they have this annoying boy as their vice chair.
They have elected Ken Martin as their new chair. But there you go. You know, I don't know. I guess he ended up getting the support of Tim Walsh. I think he's from Minnesota. And so, you know, here we go. But, oh, my word, the craziness that goes on. But that could also happen. I listen to her and I'm thinking, these are the people that get PhDs. Okay, now, now.
Issues with higher education, for sure. Oh, yeah, there's lots of those. And you know what I just realized? What? In the last election for president, when it was Trump versus Harris, he totally blew the walls off of this.
Solid pun. Solid pun. Well, I do have some breaking news from the Senate. I'm watching it real time as our audio clips were playing. There's huge news coming out of the U.S. Senate. We're going to take a quick break. When we come back, I will tell you what that is. Stay with us. Reach out to Amy now. 907-522-0650. That's 907-522-0650. It's Amy Demposki on NewsRadio 650. KENI. Welcome back. Current time, 636. On this Tuesday morning, well, the first big hurdle for RK Jr. has come and gone.
That's right, the Senate Finance Committee this morning voted to move him out of committee. They were counting the votes in real time, so I was watching in earnest, and as it was happening, with lots of angst. Because there was a question. Senator Cassidy from Louisiana's doctor, he's a physician, and he really has a big problem with RFK Jr.'s past vaccination stances. i mean you see a lot of people in the medical industry that are like that i mean they're like vaccinate everybody
And if you question it, you know, they basically, it's this whole group think mentality. In my mind, it's amazing when you see it. You saw it during COVID. You see it now. Look. There's no question that we have high autism rates. We have all kinds of disorders that... they don't necessarily have in other countries, and you have to question where those things come from. Is it environmental? Is it something to do with vaccinations? I don't know. I have no idea.
But people were not sure how Cassidy was going to vote simply because he had real problems with RFK questioning vaccines. And he ended up voting in the affirmative. So it was a close vote. It was 14 to 13. 14. Right in there, yeah. Doesn't get any closer. He was on the bubble. He was the one who ended up voting in the affirmative.
That means RFK Jr. will go forward and he will get his vote in the full Senate. So there you have it. He has passed the first hurdle. All right, let's go to the phones. And Gary is with us. Good morning, sir. Good morning. You know, I've been watching the same stuff that you have. And I watched that – RFK had that one big meeting that was – And one of the doctors there had his daughter there, and she was talking about all this, about the food system and what we've got going. And she said,
That when she was four years old, she took some prescribed medicine. And from that point on, she took it until she was like near death. And what happened was her immune system was shot. So she took it upon herself, and this is why I think her dad, I can't remember his name, why his dad is so good. Because... What happened was she said, I'm eating nothing but grass-fed beef and lamb. And she recovered. So now you've got the pharmaceuticals controlling the doctors.
that this is what RFK is talking about, that it's controlling the doctors and nobody's critically thinking. It's only about the money. Well, I would say it's not just the doctors, it's the politicians, too. Look how much money Big Pharma pumps into D.C. And to campaigns, I mean, look, I mean, basically the fix is in when it comes to big pharma. I don't think there's nearly enough oversight, and I think it is absolutely evident when you start following the money. Exactly.
So let's go back, let's backtrack a little bit and go to UCEDD. UCEDD is this big organization worldwide that has all these non-profits. Yeah, you're getting ahead of me because this is my 7 o'clock hour show, but go ahead. So these nonprofits are – the employees are making a ton of money, right? So – Now, let's go back to our educational system and say they're educating, and you just said it, they got a Ph.D. in this department.
And what our educational system from high school, grade school, to high school, to college, what they are not doing anymore is teaching critical thinking. What they're doing... is turning our system into a democratic employment agency. The employment agency is the U.S. government, you said. Oh, yeah. All these people that are getting brainwashed.
Well, it's not just that. Remember when Biden wanted to hire thousands more people for the new version of the Peace Corps, but it was basically the Environmental Corps. I can't remember what he wanted to call it. But look, for years... especially the Democrats, they have been using the government as a way to basically employ their people. I mean, look, explain to me why employees of the government, all these different agencies, should be working on voter... registration
I mean, across multiple government agencies. There's no reason. I mean, this is basically used as a workforce for the Democrats. And, you know, to your point, whether it's multiple nonprofits or not even nonprofits, I mean, directly through. what we're talking about when Gary says UCEDD. It is the United States Agency for International Development. So USAID is
It was established during JFK's time. A lot of times they had said it was to counter the Soviets and to help with a lot of foreign diplomatic things, but you'll hear it in the 7 o'clock hour when I get to this story, but the reality is... from multiple Ambassadors and the State Department in multiple places across the country, this is an unaccountable agency that has funneled billions and billions of dollars to left-wing causes. I mean, that's the reality.
Well, the realities in all of these bureaucratic agencies, you know, like EPA. So when we were talking about this RFK, They kept saying the environment during that committee. And I'm thinking to myself, okay, if you keep saying it's an environmental thing, then why isn't the EPA controlling the pharmaceuticals?
Because the pharmaceuticals are killing children and humans by the hundreds of thousands every year with their chemicals that they're prescribing through the doctors that have been educated woke. Yeah, well, I will tell you, I think there's definitely a new sheriff in town, and I'm hoping we're going to see some major changes because I think there's people on both sides that, you know, they want to know what's in their food.
to know what they're ingesting they want to understand where their government is spending their money they want to understand You know, a lot of things beyond the basic. What is in the medicines that they're taking? And the reality is, is this is why the left is coming absolutely unhinged when it comes to Donald Trump shutting down some of the money supply. that was going to things that Congress never intended.
And I think what you're going to see over and over again is the left is absolutely going to lose their mind because it's their gravy chain. But I will say it's probably not just the left. Let's be honest about it. It's probably not just the left. You know, we're going to get into this in a little bit, but I appreciate the call, Gary. I think you bring up a really important topic. I think it's one for a lot of discussion, I'm sure, over the next couple of years, because as Elon Musk...
Doge dive into government spending, the American people is going to see what has been happening right under the nose for the last 10, 20, 30 years. That's the reality of it. Thank you so much for your call, Gary. I appreciate it. All right. We're going to take a quick break. When we come back, we're going to get into some of the headlines of the day. If you'd like to call in, be part of the show, 5-2-2-0-6-5. Now, back to the boss, Amy Day. Health system.
My wife, she was basically falling down and couldn't get up. Her memory was shot. Her immune system was shot. we're going from doctor to doctor. You can't go from one doctor to another anymore. You have to go to one doctor, and then it takes a month or two to see another doctor, and so on and so on. We thought, well, it's...
Ear, nose, and throat. So, well, no, you have to go get a hearing test before you do that. It's a special hearing test. So that took quite a bit of time. And this was during COVID. And this goes on and on and on. We finally get to the fifth doctor and he says, oh, you're allergic to Ozympic. Stop taking it. But it took two and a half years to get there. Wow. system is so shot that it's just incredible. Wow. You know, what's going on with our system is just terrible. We can't...
I mean, I was getting ready to take her down to the States, see some sort of specialist or something. But again, you know, they... I mean, I have a real good doctor, but I had one doctor that was fantastic, but he quit because of all the red tape. And he couldn't take Medicare or anything like that because he can't make money doing that. Right, right. And that's the system they're trying to push us all into is their medical system, which...
Look, they're trying to turn us into Canada, and we don't want to be Canada. I mean, look at how bad it is in Canada. I mean, there are Canadians that live in Canada or dual citizens that have to go to the U.S. for treatment because you need to get in. with any type of specialist, and you're probably going to be waiting a year and a half to do it. And by the time you get there, who knows if they can actually fix your issue or if you'll be dead by the time you get there.
These one-payer systems, which is really just socialized medicine, they are nowhere near... nowhere near ideal, let's put it that way. And, you know, the more they push us with Obamacare, the more they try to push us that direction. The more expensive it gets, the harder it is to get in. The more regulations there are for doctors. I mean, I feel your pain. Well, I hope your wife is doing better now. Oh, she's doing much better. But the thing of it is this, like the...
Also, it's like when I was over in England dealing with some friends and everything else, and they said, you know, what do you mean you can go to a doctor real quick? You can't do that. No, I know. I know. The systems that they're trying to push us to are just terrible. I know. You're welcome. It was good hearing from you this morning. Thank you for the call. Well, you know.
Daryl, we were talking about earlier the craziness of the DNC. I got a little sidetracked because I wanted to give everybody updated information on RFK, but can you get me up audio clip three? This is the Chicago resident. It's a really... short clip, but I want to leave people this hour with some hope. Because the craziness that is happening on a national level, when you start to see, you know,
This whole thing with, like, what does even zizur even mean? When you're talking about pronouns and they start putting out all these things, they're not even words. They're like sounds. I mean, we get to the point of ridiculousness where we hear people say, All this nonsensical stuff. And the vast majority of Americans have now said, you know what, like, we're ditching this nonsense. And there is hope because even in deep blue Chicago.
Even in deep blue Chicago, you know, which is largely and for decades has been controlled by Democrats. Democrats are even pushing back on other Democrats saying, you know what? We've got to get on board with Trump. I want to play you a Chicago resident who was talking to Brandon Johnson earlier this week. In the past week, anyway. And this is a great example of what is actually happening in deep blue cities. Go ahead, Daryl.
Hear you and J.B. Prisker want to puff out your chest and fight Tom Holman. We need Tom Holman here in Chicago. We need Donald Trump. And I don't want to see people like Pam Bundy and Cash Patel, you know, haul you up out of here and become prosecuted. I don't want to see that happen, but they will do.
a job if they have to brandon johnson we need to start voting different in these cities like new york and chicago stop voting these people in it's not democrat versus republican anymore it is populist versus establishment it is the populist versus the establishment I don't care if you're black. Can you do the job? Can you?
You do the job, Mr. Brandon Johnson. And it's looking like you can't do the job. I got to tell you, Daryl, that gave me hope. And I've been watching Chicago City Council meetings now for about a year. And you have seen this over and over again where people that are historically Democrats, voted Democrat their whole life, their whole family votes Democrats, they are showing up in force and they are pushing back because...
They are sick and tired of the illegal immigrant resettlement taking over their city. Things that should be paid for their residents to help their lives are being diverted to illegals from other countries. The crime has gone up. Their services have gone down for their own residents. and people are seeing it and they're pushing back. So I've got to tell you, like I said, I love watching Chicago City Council meetings now.
I can't stand Brandon Johnson. Like, he just drives me crazy. Like, he's one of those. Like, I am one of those ones that is cheering. Look, if these politicians are harboring fugitives, they should be held to account. I can't wait for some shackles, you know, for the cuffs. to be put on some of these politicians that are harboring illegals. I mean, we'll see if it happens. We'll see if it happens. But the reality is, community after community across the country, you start to see, you know,
mayors from boston or from chicago or from california city councils are saying we're going to resist trump we're not going to participate with ice we're going to give safe harbor and you think these people are nuts man i mean any one of us that if i turn around and i harbor illegal criminals And the popo are looking for them. They're going to put the shackles on me. They're going to put the cuffs on me. Right? Why aren't these politicians being held to the same standard? Well, they should be.
Not only should it be held to the same standard, you know. And it's not just the East Coast. That's happening on the West Coast, the Northern Coast. It's happening here in Anchorage. There's a story that just came out yesterday. Apparently here in Anchorage we have some Sanctuary City stuff going on. Oh, not a surprise there. Let's go ahead and take a break. Welcome back. Current Time 706 on this glorious Tuesday morning. You're listening to the Amy Dobosky Show. This is Hour 2. I can't do a three-hour show, Daryl. I know I've had a number of people say, your show needs to be three hours. I can't do it. Oh, you got all the information? Are you kidding? There's so many stories now you can do four hours. You know, we always joke sometimes there's just not enough time to get to everything.
But, you know, I don't know. I just I feel like that's probably true. But two hours is like the sweet spot for me. I love it. I love it for five. No, can't do it. You know, those days that I was filling in for Carl in the afternoon when he was gone, that's a lot of radio. That's a lot of live time. You know what I mean? Oh, boy. Oh, yeah. He's shut back down in two hours also. Yeah. I'm telling you, it's the sweet spot. I love it.

Well, Daryl, you know, I always chuckle. We were talking about RFK Jr. in the first hour because it just broke that he has passed the first hurdle which is getting out of committee in the senate that way he can be moved forward to a full vote of the senate and donald trump posted not too long ago just actually an hour ago
Kind of what we were just talking about. And this is what he says on Truth Social. 20 years ago, autism in children was 1 in 10,000. Now it's 1 in 34. Wow. Something's really wrong. We need Bobby. Thank you. Donald J. Trump. So that's what he put. But I mean, when you listen to those numbers, that's staggering. So you have to say, what is the factor? What is the data point that has changed? to drop autism rates from 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 34.
I mean, that's staggering. And the fact that more people aren't asking that question is really bothersome. But, you know, here we go. You know, RFK Jr. is moving forward to a full Senate vote. He's got out of committee. Which is good. And, you know, he said he's not anti-vax, but there needs to be informed consent. You know, Dr. Farr has talked about this a lot with us as we talked about, you know, what is in these medications, where are the potential side effects. I think it's important.
The other topic we were talking about was some of these different communities across the country saying that they're not going to cooperate with ICE. And I think there's a difference between just not cooperating. in actually harboring fugitives. There's a difference. And what do I mean by that? If law enforcement or a city council just says, we're just not going to give you our resources to do your job, that's one thing.
But I don't agree with it, but I will say I think law enforcement across the spectrum should partner with each other because ultimately it makes us all safer. So I think those partnerships between local, state, and feds should all happen. But when they start saying we're going to harbor these people or, you know, they are intentionally releasing people that have detainer orders, frankly, I think that should be criminal.
I think in a large sense it is criminal, especially when we start talking about knowingly harboring fugitives. Well, now, here we go. In Anchorage, the Anchorage School District creates a sanctuary campus protecting illegal immigrants from federal ICE officers. It's coming out of Mustard, Alaska. It says ASD has made multiple claims it doesn't have enough money that it will close campuses and fire teachers without more state funds.
But it has enough money to set up a resource page to tell illegal immigrants in Anchorage how it plans to fight President Trump when it comes to illegal immigration. ASD Superintendent Jared Bryan said in a note to parents on Monday, in which he said the district was reviewing presidential directives and executive orders regarding immigration. He wants parents to know that in Anchorage, every school is a safe, welcoming, and supportive space for all students and families. And another thing,
He won't let immigration officials on campuses. Okay, number one, he can't stop them. They're public spaces, public buildings, and if law enforcement wants to go into a public space or public building, he can't stop them. Period. Hard stop. Can't stop them. Presumably, it goes on to say, Bryant means that even if an illegal immigrant Venezuelan gang member is hiding in a school building, federal immigration officials would not be allowed on campus. Again.
Good luck stopping them. You're not going to stop them. Now, here's my question to this dip. See how good I did? See how good I did? You did good. Here's the question. If there was an illegal criminal who was dangerous, wouldn't every parent want them removed from the school? You would think. I mean, I would think every parent, if there was a rapist, a murderer, a drug trafficker, if there was somebody who was illegal that was a criminal.
That was dangerous. Wouldn't every single parent want them removed from the school? This argument of, oh, you know, we're going to resist just to resist. You look like a complete idiot. Well, and I can see people's minds out there, especially like the liberals, with their children, there's not going to be criminals like that. I'm sorry, but I, and you'll probably have to say the name for me because I always mess up. Trendy, uh, a label. Now you mess me up.
See, now that you asked me to say it, now I can't say it. But the trend is that the Venezuelan gang, what a lot of people don't realize is a large percentage of them are 14 to 17 years old. That is, in America, age to go to school. That's how they get a network out. That's how they get more into this, able to get into our society to learn who to rob, who to sell drugs to. But they're going to be
In the schools also. And so he's basically saying, yeah, and the FBI is not immigration. They should be able to sweep right in. And then we have FBI raids on our schools. Yeah, Trendy or Guagua. That's what you were trying to say. There we go. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I had to look at it in writing because it's like once somebody plants a seed of saying something wrong, I'm going to say it wrong every single time. But, you know, it's just crazy to me when I start seeing this. This is nonsense.
The superintendent wrote that education is for every child and that ASD will not share information with anyone outside the student's parents or legal guardian. In the recent past, the district has even kept gender identity information from the student's own parents. Now it's a step further. federal law enforcement has no right to Anchorage school campuses. Look, it's a public building. And guess what? Most of the federal officials that are working here are Anchorage residents.
and they pay taxes so they have every right to be there when they have kids in the schools most likely exactly so this this is just nonsense this this is a This is a... Man, I got a watch in my mouth this morning. It wasn't a swear, but it was going to be not a nice term that I was going to use. This is a... This is a liberal lunatic who is virtue signaling to everybody, look, I'm going to push back. I'm going to push back on the beds because, ooh, orange man bed.
I can't even take these people. I can't do it, Daryl. Did you already go over the fact that after they let the warrant come in, they have that signed warrant, what they're going to require? It just says, therefore, the school district will block any immigration official from entering any school district property unless they present a judicially signed warrant. But that's not all. Any warrant will be then reviewed by ASD's lawyers to ensure...
meets the necessary legal standards before action is taken. All right. All right, you little twit. I can't even. I can't even. Look, here's the thing. Any of our law enforcement officials out there, how many of you are going to hand somebody a warrant and say, oh, no worries, I'll wait for your lawyer to show up and review it and make sure they say it?
It's okay. That ain't how this game is played. That is not how this game is played. Law enforcement walks up, they hand you a warrant, you get out of the way or you get arrested for obstruction of justice. I mean, you cannot interfere with the police. And the fact that this idiot, superintendent, is saying that cops can't go on their campus, first of all, you already have APD on your campus, moron. But second of all, if the...
If FBI or ICE shows up, they're federal law enforcement. If they have a purpose and you're harboring an illegal and you refuse to let them have access, you should be arrested too. That's my opinion. 100%. Dina Bishop, pay attention to what's going on here in Anchorage. Yeah, exactly. You have a superintendent that's advocating for lawlessness and obstruction of justice. I would say, should he even have a superintendent's certificate? That's my question. I'm right there with you.
That's my question. I can't even with this idiot. I can't. Like, I'm losing my mind this morning. All right, well, let's go ahead and take a quick break. When we come back, we will take your calls, 522-0650. You're listening to live, local, and always insightful Morning Drive Radio with Amy DeVos. 24-7 News, the latest. On this Tuesday morning, well, the big thing that has been reported in the last, I'd say, 24 to 36 hours, which the Democrats are absolutely losing their ever-loving minds over, is this U.S. aid.
And we talked about it a little bit earlier today. But I think you have to step back and say, what is the purpose of the US sending foreign aid to other countries? What are we getting from it? And, you know, yesterday, Marco Rubio had a good interview on Fox News, and I pulled a little snippet of it because I think we need to sort of step back and put this in context a little. And nobody...
will do it better than Marco Rubio. So I'm going to play you this audio clip, and then we'll talk about it on the backside of it. Go ahead, Daryl. The head of Doge, Elon Musk, called USAID a criminal organization and added that it is time for it. to die. Do you agree with that? They have basically evolved into an agency that believes that they're not even a U.S. government agency. That they are a global charity. That they take the taxpayer money and they spend it as a global charity.
irrespective of whether it is in the national interest or not in the national interest. One of the most common complaints you will get if you go to embassies around the world from State Department officials and ambassadors and the like is USAID is not only not cooperative,
They undermine the work that we're doing in that country. They are supporting programs that upset the host government for whom we're trying to work with on a broader scale and so forth. So they're completely unresponsive. They just don't consider that they work for the U.S.
They just think they're a global entity and that their master is the globe and not the United States. And that's not what the statute says, and that's not sustainable. Can it be reformed or does it need to die? Well, that was always the goal was to reform it. But now we have rank insubordination.
Now we have basically an active effort. Their basic attitude is we don't work for anyone. We work for ourselves. No agency of government can tell us what to do. So the president made me the acting administrator. I've delegated that power to someone who's there full time. and we're going to go through the same process at USAID as we're going through now at the State Department. I think there are some... This is not about getting rid of foreign aid. There are things that we do through USAID.
that we should continue to do. That makes sense. And we'll have to decide, is that better through the State Department or is that better through something, you know, a reformed USAID? That's the process we're working through. There are things that are happening at USAID that we should not be involved in funding or that we have a lot of questions about.
But they're completely uncooperative. So we had no choice but to take dramatic steps to bring this thing under control. Okay. So they had to take dramatic steps to take this thing under control. Really? I mean, so as you think about it, look, this is an organization in 2024 that spent $44 billion with a B. The largest appropriation went to Ukraine at about $16 billion, right? But when we start digging in and actually looking at how they spend their money, look. I've got to be honest with you.
I'm going to tell you what I think you're going to see, why I think the deep state will push back. Not just the Democrats, but the deep state will push back a little bit. But $1.5 million to DEI in Serbia. $47,000 for transgender opera in Colombia. $70,000 DEI musical in Ireland. $32,000. for transgender comic book in Peru. You know, when I was listening to Jesse Waters last night, he outlined $40 million for gain-of-function research in Wuhan.
That's where it came from. United States Agency for International Development, USAID. They talk about $20 million. for Sesame Street in Iraq. Daryl, you and I have talked about that before. Oh, yeah. $56 million for Egyptian and Tunisian tourism. $40 billion to build schools in Jordan. $300,000 to sterilize indigenous women in Peru. Money to Gaza. USAID to push, you know, abortion money in Africa. I mean, these are just some of them that are listed in here. But there's even more.
This is one of Daryl's favorite sites. It's from the Times of India. Oh, you got it. I was just looking at that. The Times of India is fantastic because they really have a lot of things. But here's here's really OK. This is why I say you're even going to see some Republicans start to push back a little bit because this is what nobody is saying. In Cuba, between 2009 and 2010,
Here is one of the covert operations of political influence. Between 2009 and 2012, the United States Agency for International Development covertly developed Zunzwe, a social media platform designed to... mimic Twitter targeting Cuban youth. The platform initially focused on apolitical content like sports, music, and weather to build a broad user base. And then it started introducing political messages and whatnot. Okay. Olivia, 2008-2013. Support for opposition groups in 2008.
USAID was accused of financially supporting opposition groups aiming to undermine the administration of the Bolivian President Morales. The Bolivian government alleged USAID funded civil society organizations and regional movements. particularly in resource-rich eastern provinces, Russia, 1990s, economic reform, and the Harvard Institute for International Development. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, USAID played a significant role in supporting Russians'
Transition to a market economy. Brazil, 2005, influence on political reforms. Do you know what this is? I'll tell you right now what this is. This is the CIA's piggy bank. This is exactly what this is. So USAID, now I've heard it, but I can't find the source of it. But what I'm seeing is is USAID is exempt from a lot of these financial audits that happen in federal government accounting. This right here, my friend, is this is the CIA slash fund.
No doubt in my mind. I absolutely believe it. And when you start to look at the history of what they've been involved with, this is the kind of stuff we accuse China of doing, right? With all these social media groups and all these different... these different actors that incite violence and protest and BLM and getting involved with all of that. This is what we look. There is absolutely positively no doubt in my mind when they start digging into this.
I don't know if it'll ever come out because I'm sure a lot of it's classified. But my guess is when you start talking about no accountability and you start talking about.
all this money going look these type of operations when you have no oversight on it and there's no accountability and they don't look when you hear the secretary of state saying a lot of the things this organization is is involved with is counter to what we're doing on a diplomatic level it is not in line with u.s. policy and they're not accountable to anybody makes you wonder
Now you have a completely rogue operation. And now once you start messing with the intel communities, the black op budgets, well... Who was it who said, was it Schumer? Who was it who said, careful going after the intel communities because they have multiple ways they can get back at you. I'm just telling you, it's going to get far dirtier before it gets better.
Because once you start playing with the purse strings, this right here has alphabet soup written all over it. All over it. I was going to say, I do believe Boggs is one of the ones that called out the CIA in front of cameras. We all know what happened to him. Look, I got to be honest with you. I'm telling you, the more I'm digging into this, and I had to go to like five different sources to be able to hobble together this list for you.
But once I start getting into the past controversies with USAID, you know, I'm just telling you right now, there is no doubt in my mind. What is at play here? And again, we have to figure out, like, how does some of these things get funded in the government? And there's really no oversight. Because remember, Congress is supposed to have oversight, right? Congress passes the budget.
Right? The administrative branch gets to spend the budget. But again, if we have a federal agency to the tune of $44 billion that has no oversight. They're not accountable in any audit. I mean, look, let's be honest. DOD has failed their audits, like, many times over the past 10 years. But now we have an agency completely out of that system, no oversight whatsoever, and they're advocating for things that are counter to US policy and diplomatic efforts.
This is a huge red flag, and I've got to tell you, it took Elon Musk and Donald Trump all of two weeks to sniff this one out. I cannot wait to see what comes out of this one. Now, will we know the whole truth? Probably not. But I'm telling you, where there's smoke, there's fire. There's no such things as coincidences. Doesn't happen, especially in politics. This one right here, we have just hit the honeypot. We're going to go ahead and take a quick break. We'll be right back.

cool mornings. We are expected to see those daily highs warming their way into the teens and the 20s with slow warming expected as we welcome in the weekend. For Alaska's weather source, I'm meteorologist Ermin. Welcome back to live, local, and insightful Morning Drive Radio on News Radio 650 KENI. Welcome back. Current time, 7.52. Well, he talked tough initially, Daryl. You know, Trudeau, he was getting really tough. He was getting really tough. Do we have time to play that audio clip?
We have a couple minutes. I think we have time. We've got a couple. Here, let me get in there. All right. So just give me a hand signal when you're ready. Donald Trump has been in negotiations with Mexico and with Canada, with everybody, because he wants to secure the border. That's what this whole tariff debate is about. So don't listen to the pundits when they're like, oh, this is a trade war. No, it's not. It's all about securing.
our border. Trudeau, he came out swinging. He was going to be tough. Here's Trudeau in response to America's 25% tariff on Canada for them not securing our border. I am announcing Canada will be responding to the U.S. trade action. with 25% tariffs against $155 billion worth of American goods. This will include immediate tariffs on $30 billion worth of goods as of Tuesday, followed by further tariffs on $125 billion worth of American products.
in 21 days' time to allow Canadian companies and supply chains to seek to find alternatives. And as part of our response, we are considering, with the provinces and territories, several non-tariff measures. including some relating to critical minerals, energy, procurement, and other partnerships. We will stand strong for Canada. to ensure our countries continue to be the best neighbors in the world.
The best neighbors in the world, except for the fact that 85% of the terrorists that were caught on the terror watch list came through the Canadian border. Except for the fact that fentanyl is coming through the Canadian border as well. Except for the fact that they're letting illegals come through into the U.S. So they're going to be the best neighbor that can be. And he stood tough, Daryl, for like five minutes.
That's right. Three and a half days, Canada folded like a cheap folding chair. Not if you listen to the mainstream media and the liberals. Oh, no, that's not the reality. Yeah, the reality is, you know, in the first three... days, the Canadian-Mexican 25% tariffs went into effect on Saturday. By yesterday, Mexico already said we'll send 10,000 troops to the border. And Canada, yesterday, said we will put 1.3...
$1 billion with a B into a border protection plan. We will appoint a fentanyl czar. The cartels are going to be listed as terrorist organizations, and we're going to have a joint task force on organized crime. So there you go. Donald Trump got Canada and Mexico to fold to start to secure the border. Because this was always about national security. Right. This was always about securing the border. And at the end of the day, we have more of what Canada wants than vice versa.
Canada wants our consumer base. Canada wants Americans to buy their products. And you know what? It's going to hurt them a whole lot more than it's going to hurt us. And they know it. So no matter how much, you know, beta boy Trudeau talks. Let me just tell you, the alpha Donald Trump won this round. No question about it.
No question about it. I just have to crack up. Breitbart has an article up. Trudeau caves to Trump, announces 30-day pause on tariffs and more border security, even though he talked really tough. He caved completely. I will tell you, I'm not surprised. Not one bit at all.
Here's a quote from him. Quote, Canada is implementing our $1.3 billion border plan, reinforcing the border with new choppers, technology, and personnel, enhance coordination with our American partners, and increase resources to stop the flow of fentanyl. end quote that coming from justin trudeau so no matter how how tough they talk what's more important is their actions and again he he folded like a cheap folding chair
I mean, it wasn't even a week. The kind that pinch you also. Not the default. I mean, we're like the kind that pinches you. Yeah, and the metal bar gets hot, you know, when you sit on it in the sun. That's the kind of folding chair he is. Oh, my word. I can't even tell you. Look, when...
Winning, I'm never going to get tired of winning. I'm loving winning. Bring it on. This is awesome. I cannot wait to see what comes out of the rest of this year. It's going to be sensational. It's going to be the greatest year ever. Does that mean you like winter? I like everything that has to do with winning. Winning, winning, winning. All right, that does it for Daryl and I today. We will be back with you tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. Until then, stay safe. God bless.
Behind every thriving place is a great long-term plan. Well, this is it. What I've worked for. A cafe and bakery that's busy all the time. Behind a success story like this is an equally good community plan. We got in early. Well, this neighborhood was just coming back. A good plan means a community is attracted to the people growing businesses want to hire. Mornings, oh, they're walking to work, coming from the train, and the brainiacs from the tech company, they're here at all hours.

When I was nine, my grandpa and I were out fishing on his boat when a large wave knocked him overboard. I remembered some park rangers coming to my school and I learned to reach, throw, row, but never go after someone struggling in the water. So I threw a life jacket out to my grandpa. She saved my life. I was too weak to get back in the boat. I realized that somewhere between the age of 16 and my age,
Your swimming abilities aren't the same, especially in a lake. My grandpa couldn't put his light jacket on while he was in the water. So now we all wear light jackets when we go boating. Many people are not as lucky when they fall overboard without wearing a life jacket because their involuntary gas reflex causes them to inhale water and they can drown.
