Episode description

1. Diplomatic Delay Over Military Action

  • Trump is reportedly considering a two-week delay before deciding whether to strike Iran’s main nuclear site.
  • This delay is framed as a strategic move to allow for diplomatic negotiations, particularly involving European powers (UK, France, Germany) and Iran in Geneva.
  • The White House, through Press Secretary Caroline Levitt, emphasizes that this pause is due to a “substantial chance of negotiations.”

2. Strategic and Political Framing

  • The episode defends Trump’s decision as responsible leadership, not weakness.
  • It highlights that Trump had previously given Iran a 60-day window to negotiate, and military action began on day 61.
  • The delay is also seen as aligning with Trump’s campaign promise to avoid new wars.

3. European and Israeli Involvement

  • The European Union is taking a lead in diplomacy, with the U.S. supporting from the sidelines.
  • Israel continues its military operations against Iranian targets, and the delay gives Israel more time to act independently.

4. Iranian Internal Instability

  • The exiled Crown Prince of Iran claims the Islamic Republic is collapsing.
  • He urges Iranians to rise up and promises a democratic government within 100 days of the regime’s fall.
  • The narrative suggests that Iran’s leadership is in disarray, with the Supreme Leader allegedly in hiding.

5. Broader Implications

  • The commentary suggests that diplomacy is a preferable path and that the current U.S. strategy is a calculated pivot from brinkmanship to negotiation.
  • It also implies that the Iranian regime is vulnerable and that international pressure, combined with internal dissent, could lead to significant change.

I see the Tucker Carlson and Senator Ted Cruz interview.

Speaker 2

It seems like this issue on whether or not the United States should strike is kind of dividing a lot of your supporters. No, my supporters for me, My supporters are America first. They make America great again. My supporters don't want to see around have a nuclear weapon. Tucker's a nice guy. He called and apologized the other day. Ted Cruz is a nice guy. I mean, he's been with me for a whole time.

Speaker 3

But very simple.

Speaker 2

If they think that it's okay for Iran to have a nuclear weapon, and then they should oppose me. But nobody thinks it's okay.

Good Friday morning. It's the forty seven Morning Update. Nice to have you with us, and we've got two big stories for you this morning. First up, Donald Trump giving diplomacy more time when it comes to Iran, as there's major meetings in Geneva directly with European countries and Iran. Also, the former leadership of Iran's Sun telling the people in Iran it is time for you to rise up and topple the current regime. Is there a real chance that

Iran's leadership could collapse? We'll explain that for you as well. It's the forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now. Story Number one major news coming out of the White House, and that is that Donald Trump is now saying that he may take up to two weeks to side whether he is going to hit the main site of Iran's nuclear program. Now what does this mean, Well, multiple different things.

Number One, it's shifting towards diplomacy. According to the Washington Post, has temporarily stepped back from immediate military action, allowing up to two weeks to exploit a new opportunity for diplomacy ahead of the planned talks in Geneva with European foreign ministers and Iran's foreign minister. That is happening, by the way today. One of the reasons why the President said, okay, I can maybe wait another twenty four forty eight hours,

see if you guys can talk. So sends into Iran's leadership. Now, these European led negotiations could be significant. The Financial Times right now reporting the European powers, including the UK, France and Germany. We'll meet with the Iranian officials in Geneva. This is the first quote formal diplomatic engagement since Israel's strike,

and Trump is giving diplomacy this window before deciding. Now, there are some that are criticizing Donald Trump in the media on the left, saying, oh, he's lying, he's you know, he was telling the people who ran that they must leave now, and now he's backing down. He's being a ws No, he's being responsible president that is allowing for negotiations while also having pressure on them to hurry up and get a deal done. You have to remember that Donald Trump gave them sixty days referring to Iran to

get a deal done, and they didn't. In what happened on day sixty one, their site started to be attacked when the Wall Street journal is also noting that Trump's two week deadline is a strategic delay aiming to compel Rand towards negotiations or collapse under mounting global pressure. Now, this timeframe also shifts immediate responsibility to Israel. That is something that Israel is more than happy to have because it's clear that their work and hitting certain targets they

believe is not done yet. And this also reflects Donald Trump's campaign promise to avoid US war commitments. Now, the White House signals are also very clear. At this hour. The AP is confirming the White House via the pre Secretary Caroline Levitt framing this two week period as driven by quote a substantial chance of negotiations and Geneva. Trump emphasized he's always interested in a diplomatic solution while maintaining military strength as a backup. Now, why is this a

positive development? Is the question that many of you may be asking. Well, it's diplomacy over force. That is something Donald Trump's been in favor of the entire time he's been in office, and the paws marks they move away from immediate military escalation, something we were expecting honestly over the last twenty four to forty eight hours, and it signals Trump's openness to diplomatic engagement, especially through the European mediation, where America is going to be waiting by the phone

but not actually involved in it. We also know there's no immediate US strike at least at this moment. Military options we have been told have been laid out and are on the table, but there's no authorization for immediate action from Donald Trump. That does a break from prior posturing and also media reports. And then there's the global

coordination President Trump working with our allies in Europe. This move is synchronizing US policy with active European diplomatic efforts directly with a RAN's leadership, and it's reinforcing a more unified and multilateral approach. Again, it's clear that Donald Trump wants to avoid war. The bottom line is this. Donald Trump's announcement of a two week decision window reflects a major pivot. It's a pivot from what we thought was going to be in an immediate strike to diplomacy, providing

breathing room for these ongoing talks in Geneva. It also demonstrates a strategic recalibration by the Trump team from brinksmanship to negotiations, and without that brinksmanship and without that threat of a real attack in the next twelve or twenty four hours from Donald Trump, it is bringing a RAND to the table quickly, and it also lines the US with international efforts to de escalate the tensions over the issue, and it allows for breathing room for Israel to continue

to do what they need to do to protect their country. So if you take a step back and you look at what's happened over the last twenty four hours. This is good news for America and our interests. I think at the end of the day, many Americans don't want to be involved in an attack on Iran. But there's also overwhelming support in new polling for making sure that

Iran never gets a nuclear weapon. And the only person that can stop Iran from getting that nuclear weapon is clearly the United States of America with our bunker busting bombs. Now there's also one other person that can admit, defeat, and stop all of this insanity that is Iran. And that's the hope in these meetings is that diplomacy will seem very real to them and also a real option to get off this path to well chaos and destruction.

Now story number two.

Speaker 3

The exiled Crown Prince is now saying the Islamic Republic is collapsing as we speak in Iran. The exile Crown Prince of Iran and son of the last Persian shaw urged Iranians on Tuesday to prepare for the impeding fall of the Supreme Leader and the Islamic Republic as the country struggles to fight off attacks from Israel, saying this the Islamic Republic has reached its end and is in the process of collapsing. The Supreme Leader is like a

frightened rat. He has gone into hiding underground and has lost control of the situation. What has begun is irreversible. The future is bright and together we will pass through this sharp turn in history. Now, the military conflict between Iran and Israel stretched into its sixth day, with little signs of slowing down, as Israel is continuing to hammer Tehran's nuclear pursuits. Now, the former shaw of Iran sun and he knows a lot about when your time's up.

They ruled Iran from nineteen twenty five to nineteen seventy nine. That's when it was overthrown in the Islamic Revolution. That is when the around hostage crisis also happened when they took American hostages in our embassy. And he went on to social media in English and Farsi and directed the messages to his fellow countrymen and encouraged a full out uprising, saying this now is the time to rise, the time to reclaim Iran. Let us all come forward and bring

about the end of this regime. He also advised that there is a plan to establish a democratic government in Iran within one hundred days of the collapse of the Islamic Republic. He also urged military, law enforcement, security forces, and state employees to join the effort to topple the government under the leadership that is currently there in Iran, saying this, do not stand against the Iranian people for the sake of a regime whose fall has begun and

is inevitable. Do not sacrifice yourselves for a decaying regime. By standing with the peace, you can save your lives, play an historic role in the transformation of the Islamic Republic, and take part in building the future of Iran. Now you hear this and is it real? There's a chance that all of it could come cut tumbling down around the leadership in Iran. Yes. Why because we know that the leader of Iran is in hiding. We also know that millions of people in Iran fled Tehran when Donald

Trump said you need to leave. Now another example of just how fragile the current regime may be. And finally, a lot of the people that were afraid of the regime may realize they're not as powerful as they thought, especially knowing the air superiority was toppled in a matter of hours by Israel, and Israel can do basically whatever

they want to do from the skies right now. So yes, there's a lot of reasons to give diplomacy and other things like this few more days before the present makes a decision, and that clearly is good for all Americans and also the Middle East.
