A mysterious regime change on Romulus presents the Federation with an unprecedented opportunity for peace. The Enterprise is dispatched into Romulan space in the hopes of forging an alliance with a long-term enemy. However, Captain Jean Luc Picard quickly discovers the mysterious new leader of the Romulan Star Empire, Shinzon of Remus, has a very familiar face. Picard's past comes back to confront him.
