A gifted writer and public historian, Velma Maia Thomas, is preserving and telling the stories of notable and unsung African-American people in history. Velma created the nationally acclaimed Black Holocaust Exhibit, a collection of original documents on slavery in America and through her work is making sure these stories and documents are not forgotten.
