¶ Intro / Opening
Welcome to the Thankful Homemaker podcast, a podcast to be an encouragement and blessing to each other in the role God has called us to as women.
¶ Welcome to the Thankful Homemaker Podcast
I'm so thankful you stopped by, so grab yourself a coffee or tea and sit with me a bit as we talk about how God's Word impacts every area of our lives as Christian women. Hello, friend. I'm Marci Farrell from Thankful Homemaker, and I'm so glad to be with you today. Today's episode, it's a special one, and it's very dear to my heart. I've invited several women I know and love to share a glimpse into what their time in God's Word looks like in their current season of life.
These are real women in real seasons. Some are working full-time. Some are homeschooling littles. Some are caring for elderly loved ones. Some are just beginning their walk with the Lord. Their routines may look different, but their hearts are all the same, a desire to draw near to Christ through his word. So you're not going to hear these perfect routines or Pinterest-worthy schedules, just simple, honest, grace-filled reflections.
And my hope is that as you listen, you'll be encouraged right where you are and reminded that meeting with the Lord and his word, it's not about having it all together. It's not about this perfect plan. It's not about looking like somebody else's. It's about knowing how much we need him. So each of these women is a dear friend in my life. Some of them I've known for years, some for just a season, but all have encouraged
me deeply. And I'm so thankful for their willingness to share these glimpses and to their walk with the Lord. I've asked each one to just share a short bio so we can have a little bit of context for their season of life and just a few sentences. Some of them give me a few longer sentences describing how they spend time in the Word. So I'm just going to dig in. We're going to hear from these sweet sisters, and we're going to glean from their real-life practices and wisdom.
So I'm going to start with my friend, Timmy.
¶ Real Women, Real Seasons
So Timmy is single. She's in her mid-40s. She works full-time outside the home. She's involved in women's ministry, and she lives in the Midwest. So Timmy says, Okay. I usually read and study the Bible during my a.m. break at work. I read from a daily Bible, and I spend longer portions of time and catch up if need be, she says, on Fridays to Sundays, so on the weekend there when I'm off work.
I normally spend time in prayer in the car on my way to and from work each day, as well as the longer ride home to and from church on Wednesdays and Sundays. I'm reading in 1 Samuel and Revelation right now outside of my daily Bible reading.
I choose what to read mostly based on what the church is going through or a study I might do with a friend She says the tools I use to help me are a concordance Sermons commentaries bible dictionary atlas maps in the bible depending on she says what applies to where she's at She says I stay focused by remembering It's the food I need in my walk with the lord and what nourishes me I love that and she says one thing the lord has been teaching me recently is the reminder
that he must increase, but I must decrease. I personally, now this is me, I personally appreciate how Timmy has built her time in the Word around her work schedule. It's really a sweet reminder to us that we can truly meet with the Lord wherever we are, even during a break at work or a car ride home, and her heart to stay nourished by God's Word is an encouragement.
¶ Meeting God in Busy Lives
So now we're gonna hear from my very longtime friend, Miranda. Miranda is married. She's a mom of six. She homeschools her crew, and she serves wherever the Air Force takes us. So Miranda says, as a homeschooling mom with a slew of children, ranging from elementary ages to young adults, I've learned that making scripture needs to be a daily priority is what keeps our home. And she says, in my heart, Christ-centered.
That's so good. She says, time and the word doesn't have to happen at 5 a.m. to be meaningful. Did we all hear that? Time in the Word, she says, doesn't have to happen at 5 a.m. to be meaningful. Sometimes it's reading a Bible story or learning memory verses with my younger ones during breakfast or slipping away for a few quiet minutes with the Lord while my older kiddos work independently.
Other times it's in the evening, she says, when the house finally settles and you can find yourself at the foot of the cross. And then she says to younger moms, don't feel pressure to have that picture-perfect quiet time. Don't overcomplicate it. Be intentional. Just stay in the word consistently. She says God will bless even the smallest time seeking his face. I love Miranda's reminder that quiet time, it doesn't have to be early or elaborate.
Remember, she said it just needs to be intentional. Her words are an encouragement, ladies, especially to younger mamas out there, that God blesses even the smallest moments we set aside to seeking.
¶ Simple and Intentional Reflections
So next we get to hear from Selena, and she's a young, busy mama. So Selena is married. She's a homeschooling mom of four kiddos, eight years and under, living in Georgia. So she says, time in the Word and with God looks differently from day to day. She said, in this season of young kiddos especially, right? Some days, time with God looks like Bible reading and devotional with my kids during breakfast and dinner and praying throughout the day.
And then she says, other days I get to have a long prayer and reading time with a hot, and she capitalized hot, H-O-T there, hot cup of coffee before my kiddos wake up as well. And one thing that is consistent, she says, we have worship music on every day, especially songs that are just straight scripture.
One thing God has taught her, she's saying, the last few years is spending time with him doesn't just mean sitting down with my Bible, multiple translations and commentaries, open pens and highlighters to do a deep study session for hours or prayer warrior hours. And she says, she reminds us all, when that happens, it's fantastic.
But God has been faithful to sustain me with those prayers throughout the day, doing dishes or laundry, 20-minute devotionals and beautiful hymns at bedtime or on car rides for toddlers naps. Selena's words, friends, they're an encouragement for moms in the thick of it, right? Her reminder that worship and prayer can happen in the middle of dishes and car rides and bedtime routines. It points us to a God who meets us in the everyday moments and sustains us through them.
¶ Creative Approaches to Scripture
So next up is my dear young friend living halfway across the world, Zoe. So Zoe says, I'm in my early 20s and I live in Western Australia. I'm single and I work outside the home, but I'm praying that marriage and motherhood are some things that God might give me in the coming years. I currently live with my family and our sweet dog, Indy, who we absolutely adore. She said she's a shift worker and her schedule is constantly changing.
So since becoming a Christian four years ago, she tells us that reading the word and working this into her schedule has been an ongoing challenge. So Zoe says that I've discovered that in different season, different seasons, things look very different. And in my line of work, each quote season may only last a month or so. She said, my most consistent seasons are when I wake up early, read the word and pray in the morning before work.
This means waking up at 5am so I can leave the house at 6.15am. Unsurprisingly, she says, I don't always manage to do this. On other days, I'll read it before I go to sleep, or if I have a day off or an afternoon shift. She says I may read it later in the day as well. And unfortunately, she says, some days I just don't manage it. And learning to accept that my value as a Christian is not tied to how frequently I read my Bible is something I sometimes struggle with.
But she reminds us, however, in his goodness, God loves me just as much on the days I don't even pick up my Bible as he does on the days I sit down and have an hour-long quiet time. And then she says, In the days I don't manage to do my normal Bible reading and prayer routine, I'm trying to get better at simply spending time praying. Pouring my heart out to God, and really talking to him, knowing that this is time we'll spend, even if I don't read my Bible.
And she says, the most helpful ways to do this, I found, is writing out prayers in a journal or taking prayer walks, especially in nature. Some of the times I felt closest to God have been on those walks. Practically speaking, she says, in regards to getting into scripture, I've tried a couple of reading plans, and they have been successful to a certain extent. In my first year as a Christian, I read through the New Testament in a year
using a plan, which was a first for me, she said. However, sometimes in the busy seasons, I'll read just one book over and over, trying to soak up as much as I can. And then she reminds us this also helps me not to turn Bible reading into just another item on my to-do list, which is what a Bible reading plan can sometimes do for me.
These past couple of months, I've been reading 2 Timothy and Titus during my quiet times, which has made getting into the Word feel more manageable, and I've really enjoyed how each read-through seems to highlight different aspects of the book. Listening to the Bible on the way to work using this method has also been helpful. Then she tells us, I also love reading the Bible with other people.
I read the Bible one-to-one with one of the more mature Christian women at church every one to two weeks. And this has been such a wonderful way to get to know someone, learn how to read the Bible from someone wiser than me. I love her teachable heart here. That's my little plug. And I love that there's an older, wiser woman that's mentoring her. That's beautiful.
And then she says, I'm going to go back to that, to learn how to read the Bible from someone wiser than me and really get into the text and understand it. She says, highly recommend. Reading with someone else has helped me stay accountable in my own discipline. She says, in a way, her own discipline sometimes falls short. And I think we've all been there with her.
Amen to that, right? We can all raise our hands on that. She says, I would love to be someone who's able to follow a good routine of prayer and Bible reading daily. However, it's just not something I've mastered yet. By the grace of God, he loves his children regardless of how much time they spend in his word. But as his child, I would love to know who he is more deeply. That's so good. And read his word more consistently than I am currently. With God's help, I pray I will.
Zoe's honesty is such a gift, and her heart to know the Lord more deeply, even in the midst of challenging schedules and busy seasons, is a beautiful reminder to us all that God's grace meets us right where we are. I really love how she's found creative ways to stay in the word and stay connected through community and prayer.
¶ Finding God in Everyday Chaos
So next is my sweet friend, Marsha. So Marsha is married to a pastor. She's a stay-at-home mom of four school-age children living in the Midwest. So Marcia says, once I get home from dropping my kids off at school, I might throw in a load of laundry and then sit down with my Bible and prayer journal. There are many things I could do and need to do during those quiet school hours, but I think it's an act of faith and priority to tell myself I need to spend time alone with God first.
I really love that she said that. I think that's so important and such a good reminder. And then she says, right now, I'm reading the Everyday Gospel Bible by Paul Tripp. So that allows me to read through the Bible in a year, plus have a devotional about the reading. I usually go back and forth between reading the Bible one year and the next year, spending time studying and memorizing from a handful of books.
She says, my prayer time flows out of my Bible reading as I usually pray about the truth I've been meditating on for the people on my prayer list. That's a beautiful way to do that. She says, I'm striving to pray for my husband and children first before I dive into prayer for others. My Bible memory mostly happens at my kitchen sink with a card or a verse sitting on my windowsill, which helps drive my thoughts to God's word throughout the day.
I'm really encouraged by Marsha's intentionality, just starting her day with the word, just even when there's much to do. We all know we can walk in the house after dropping kiddos from school and know there's a zillion things waiting for us. But she gave us a picture of choosing what matters most. And I love that her scripture memory happens right at the kitchen sink. We spend a lot of time there. What a simple but powerful way to keep her heart anchored and true throughout the day.
I even appreciated how she alternated her Bible reading, that one year she'll read the Bible through in a year, and the next year she'll just spend time in a handful of books of the Bible. So I love that.
¶ Embracing Prayer and Scripture
I just think how already even each of these reflections is so unique, and yet the hunger for God's word runs through all of them. So the next one comes from my sweet, busy mama friend, Jen. So Jennifer is married. She has seven children ranging from 22 to five months old. So 22 years old to five months. She's a foodie and she loves a good latte with a friend.
So Jen says, since becoming a wife and mother in 2001, I quickly realized that if I didn't establish a morning Bible routine that worked around my family's needs, the day would slip away before I'd had meaningful time with the Lord. And then she says, while some seasons make this more challenging than others, I found that early mornings are best for my quiet time.
And she says, this is also when I intentionally pray for my family, though I continue to pray throughout the day as people come to mind or situations weigh on my heart. That's our, I'm going to plug that, that's our praying without ceasing, right? We're just getting to talk to the Lord all the time. I love that she uses those moments to do that. She says, I always quote, intend to read the books I already own before getting
new ones, but that resolve rarely lasts. I love that. I'm raising my hand with her there. She says, my nightstand often has a stack of eight to 10 books in rotation. Lately, I've been falling asleep just a few lines in, so Audible has become a helpful companion, letting me absorb more content while doing other things, even though I still prefer a physical book in hand.
She says, most of what I read comes through trusted recommendations or from authors, bloggers, and content creators I follow, mostly nonfiction, as I rarely reach for fiction, she says. One of the most impactful tools in my spiritual walk has been Quiet Time Hints to Grow in the Lord by Elizabeth Elliott. I know that's one of my favorites too. Staying consistent, she says, hasn't come from always doing it right, but from living through the seasons when I didn't.
She says, it's easy to wake up already battling the clock and the demands of the day, but the Lord has continually shown me the blessing of seeking, seeking first his kingdom and his righteousness, reminding me that he can be trusted with all that the day holds. That's a good reminder for all of us. And I think their Jen's words are such a gentle encouragement to keep showing up, even when our routines shift. Her faithfulness through many seasons of motherhood reminds us that consistency
in the Word, again, it's not about perfection. It's about returning to the Lord again and again and trusting Him with all that the day holds.
¶ Lessons from a Caregiver’s Heart
So the next one is from my dear friend, Denise. And Denise is married. She's an empty nester. She puts in parentheses almost. There's one more there at home. She has a large family, a heart for hospitality. She loves discipling younger women, teaching women's Bible studies. She delights in her grandchildren time. Amen to that. National parks, Maine, the state of Maine, coffee, chocolate, and most of all, Jesus. So Denise says, my husband and I are both early risers.
She says, I love to begin my day with a good cup of coffee and my Bible. It's been helpful over the years to try different Bible reading plans. She says, early in my walk, the chronological and the machine plans have had a profound impact on my understanding of the one true God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love that. I'm just pausing there because I think that's so important. And just she had that foundation early. And I really appreciate that.
She says, I also remember struggling as a young believer with a legalistic heart attitude toward reading scripture. So one year I began my Bible reading plan on March 9th instead of January 1st, just to practice coloring outside the lines. Beautiful. I love that. She says, currently I'm reading the Bible with the five-day plan. So right now she says, Chronicle Samuel, Acts and Psalms are where I am parked.
Teaching women God's word is a privilege and joy, and it causes me to dig much deeper into scripture when I prepare Bible studies. And then she says, for me, it is extremely beneficial to survey and also study intensely God's word, pursuing both an overall standing of redemptive history, as well as specific doctrines and applications to daily life. Like, what is God teaching me right now? She says, his redemptive plan has not yet, nor will ever be thwarted by sinful
men. He uses the most ordinary, unexpected people for his kingdom purposes, and his grace is incomprehensible. She says, my husband and I pray each morning and right before bed, and I try to pray immediately after scripture. She says, though not always successfully. To-do lists and distractions start early. We all know that one, right? So she says, prayer is more part of the fabric of my day, and those wakeless nights, she says, might as well redeem them.
Amen, my sister. than in the past, right? And then she says, and for that, I am thankful. So I really love Denise's love for God's word, her desire to know both its broad story and daily application has been an encouragement to me. And I loved her honesty about learning to let go of legalism early on. And her reminder that God uses ordinary people for his extraordinary purposes is one that we all need to hold on to.
¶ Trusting God Through All Seasons
So next we get to hear from someone who is a very sweet encourager to me, and her name is Mayoshi. And Mayoshi is married. She's a mom to five, a grana to seven. She's an empty nester living in northeastern Tennessee, and she's involved in biblical counseling, and she's the church librarian. I love that. So she says, my day starts out perhaps a bit differently. I have things to get settled before I have my Bible time.
If it's Monday, I start laundry and get my breakfast, then post to a couple different Facebook groups. Then I open Table Talk Devotion, my Bible, and my prayer notebook. She says, I have a notebook divided into days of the week with a different group to pray for each day. And then whatever the main verse is from Table Talk, that's what I pray for that day's group. I love that. That's like a nugget I'm pulling from hers.
She says, for example, I prayed for missionaries and the persecuted church today that God would remind them that he is our righteousness and that he would enable them to stand firm in him. I also have a list of unsafe family and friends that I pray for each day and a companion list of scriptures I pray for them. She says, my husband goes to bed early, so that's when I do my personal Bible study. Chores are completed. Home is tidy. Time to focus on his word.
I'm currently studying James, and the verse that keeps reverberating is James 121, therefore putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness. So she says, no matter how much I grow in the grace of Christ, there will be wickedness that I must put to death daily. Amen, Myoshi. Myoshi's routine is a beautiful blend of order and prayerfulness and depth in the word. I'm really encouraged by how she prays scripture for others and ends her day with focused study.
It's a faithful reminder, friends, that even in the quiet, structured rhythms we have, the Lord is at work and He's shaping our hearts. So next we have Rhonda, who I have so enjoyed time getting to know. So Rhonda is married. She's an empty nester. She's a church volunteer. And she's a caregiver for elderly family friends.
Ronda says right now i'm in a unique season of life due to extensive caregiving commitments for elderly family friends so my current time in the word is listening to the bible when i can and daily prayer through what i call my quote battle box which is a four by six index card box with dividers for daily odd even monday through friday and then the 31 days of the month, The daily and odd and even section, she says, I use for meditation on scripture
or catechism or book quotes that are edifying or convicting and prayers for my immediate family. I need her to write a blog post on this thing for me. And then she says the Monday to Friday section is for different prayer prompts. Example, she says Monday would be missionaries, Saturday would be sick or those that salvation, those unsafe friends and family. And then she says the 31 days of the month are from the 31 days of praying for your husband challenge from Revive Our Hearts.
She said, when I have more time, I like to use a Bible reading plan and I was working on memorizing Ephesians, but right now those are on pause for a bit. And she's very kind to me. She says, most of the resources I use have been from you, Marcy. So I don't think I can add anything additional there. I'm saying that because I love that. I really appreciate Rhonda because I've gleaned from her so much too.
So she's been an encouragement to me, and I know she's an encouragement to the women that are in her life. So she reminds us again, we need to be reminded again and again of the importance of being in God's Word, whether we have little or lots of time. So Rhonda's faithfulness in the midst of a demanding caregiving season, and I've been there in my past when we were caring for my sweet mother-in-law, and that is hard, but it is a testimony to prioritizing the Lord even when her life is full.
Her battle box is such a creative and intentional way to stay rooted in scripture and prayer. And I just think of what a beautiful example she gave of using what you can, where you are to draw near to the Lord. I need to make, I'm going to say this at the end, but I'm going to state it here. If you're a blog subscriber, because this whole podcast is not going to be in full on the website for this. It's not going to be, you know, I say over on the full show notes at the blog.
This whole thing is not going to be there because it's really way too long to type the whole thing out.
¶ Encouragement for Every Listener
So what I'm going to do is put their reflections of their time in the Word in their words. I'm just turned it into a PDF and it's gonna be available for blog subscribers in the free library. So if you're a blog subscriber, you can go to the free library, use the password. You find it at the bottom of any email I send you. Go look up an old email from Thankful Maker if you've forgotten about the free library password and look at the bottom and the password's always there for you to get into it.
But I will also, when this podcast goes out, I will make sure when I send the, what is today? I'm recording this in June. So this will go out in June for the June newsletter and it will be attached in your June newsletter to my blog subscribers. So you'll get it there. That way, I know Rhonda's battle box was pretty cool and you might want a little more detail on it. So that was a sweet, sweet, just a quick, sweet interruption there. So I didn't have you trying to scribble everything down.
So the next reflection, we have a couple more here. So we have two more. So the next reflection comes from my sweet, very longtime friend, Nikki. So Nikki is a wife and mama of seven. She has two big and five not-so-big kiddos. She's living in the Midwest, and she spends our days learning together and loving others through their business. So Nikki says, my time in the Word is spent whenever I can get it.
She says, though I prefer early mornings, it doesn't always fulfill the need or desire depending on urgent needs of our family life. So I read my focus chapters mornings and afternoons between school lessons and work.
Sometimes opting to listen on audio while driving walking or doing chores that's so good use of time there by nikki right she says currently i'm using a simple bible plan my accountability group is doing together with three to five chapters a day i fit in scripture review and what i call resets of specific passages for our heart issues throughout the day as needed either i love this She says, either hiding in my bathroom, and she says seriously, or out in the open for others to join in.
She says, I love my new She Reads Truth Bible that gives great reading plans and little mini sermons also in it. So I love Nikki's heart and how it just set on soaking in the word throughout her day, whether it's early morning, between school lessons, or right even hiding in the bathroom when it's needed. So that's just a real and beautiful picture of hungering for God in the midst of everyday life. Her joy in bringing others along is also a sweet testimony.
And our last one in this series, the last one, don't I always say, you have to say, I saved the best for last, but it is from my youngest friend on this list, and it's from Sweet Evelyn. So Evelyn is 18. She's living at home. She's working as a birth doula and part-time at another... So Evelyn says, I usually spend time in the Word after the gym or once I've had some coffee and feel awake and ready to engage. Love her honesty there, that's so true.
And then she says, depending on the passage, I'll listen to it in the Bible app and then read it again in my physical Bible to help me understand and apply it better. When I get up earlier than the rest of the house and put away distractions like my phone or music, I find I am the most focused to what I am reading. She says, when I don't get up earlier, it helps me to go to another room that is quiet.
I'm currently reading through 1 Kings and the Psalms. I found the Old Testament to be a little harder to apply, but starting in Ruth and working my way forward has helped me stay consistent in both the Old Testament and New Testament. She says, I begin my time in prayer, asking the Lord to quiet my mind and open my heart. And after reading, I end in prayer for my day, repentance, my church, and that God would use me however and wherever he wants.
Lately, God has been teaching me to love others better, especially non-believers, and to reflect more. And I can attest to that. Evelyn is quite gifted at loving others. And she says, and to reflect more on how I can respond with grace like Christ has shown me. So Evelyn's intentionality in creating space to focus on God's word is a good and sweet encouragement to us, especially in a busy season right now of work and she's in transition.
I love how she's learning to apply both the Old and New Testament truths and she's letting her time with the Lord shape how she loves others with Christ-like grace. So as I put this episode together and I read through these reflections, I was reminded once again that our time in the Word doesn't have to look the same in every home or in every season.
The Lord meets us right where we are, whether we're in the car, at the kitchen sink, up before the sun, or fitting it in between caregiving tasks and math lessons. These women, they are all walking in different seasons, but each one is building her life on the same foundation, God's Word. So here were some shared themes that stood out to me across these real-life reflections. So number one was faithfulness over perfection.
I think here from Zoe's honesty about not always meeting her goals to Jen's reminder that consistency is shaped by grace, not perfect routines. Each woman has learned that faithfulness is about returning to God's word. It's not checking a box. Evelyn shared how even on the harder days, she's learning to ask the Lord to quiet her heart and meet her in his word. And then we had, my second thought here was creativity in the chaos.
Because whether it's Ronda's battle box or Nikki's bathroom resets or Miranda reading scripture with her kids at breakfast, These women have found thoughtful and practical ways to weave God's Word into their days. Selena beautifully described how worship music and hymns and even toddler car naps became part of her walk with the Lord. My third one I pulled out is the Word and Prayer are inseparable. So several women spoke of how their prayer life flows from their Bible reading.
Marsha prays for her family based on what she reads each day. Myosha uses the daily verse from Table Talk as a guide for intercession. And Denise and her husband start and end each day in prayer, letting scripture shape their conversations with the Lord. And number four was that God meets us in the margins. I think here of Timmy's early morning breaks at work, Jen listening to scripture through Audible, and Evelyn finding a quiet room when the house is busy.
And I gen listen to scripture, but just even some good nonfiction Christian solid theology books. Audible is a blessing. I am so thankful for Audible and audiobooks, so I appreciated that. But even Evelyn, I'm coming back to that, finding a quiet room when the house is busy. All of those aspects reflect the reality that even a few focus minutes can feed our souls. It doesn't have to be this perfect setup for God to do His perfect work.
And number five, just growth and grace and maturity. It was really a joy for me to hear how some of these women have grown over the years and how they approach their time in the Word. You know, Denise shared how she's learned to let go of legalism and embrace the freedom and how and when she reads. And Zoe's learning that her value isn't tied to her performance. And Rhonda has found peace in adapting her routine during a demanding season of caregiving.
These reflections remind us that walking with the Lord, It's just that. It's a walk, right? It's a process of learning and growing and being shaped by His grace year after year. So as I read through these, some of them were probably typed out in the quiet of the night. Some were written in the margins of full days. I found myself just wiping away tears. And I was smiling. And I was giving thanks to the Lord for these dear friends. Because they have
walked alongside me in different ways over the years. and each one has helped me grow in my love for the Lord just by being faithful where God has placed them. And what I loved most is that, first of all, none of these was, they were all so different, right? None of them pointed to a perfect routine or this flawless method. They all simply pointed to Jesus. These are women who are clinging to the word because they know they need him.
And I'm reminded again that the goal isn't to craft the ideal quiet time. The goal is to know and love the Lord, and He's so faithful to meet us, whether it's five quiet minutes before the kids wake up or 15 scattered minutes across the day.
¶ The Heart of the Matter
It's not about having the same routine every day, but it's about showing up with a heart that says, Lord, I need you. And one passage that's been on my heart lately is John 6, 68, when the disciples say to Jesus, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. And that's what each of these women reminded me of. There is nowhere else to go but to Him. So to those women who shared in this episode, thank you, each one of you.
You've encouraged my heart more than you know, and I'm so grateful for your faithfulness, your honesty, your example. I'm grateful for the time you took out of your busy days to share with us. You've shown us that the Word is not just for quiet mornings, it's for all of life. And you've reminded us that time with the Lord is not something we earn, but a grace we're invited into.
And to those listening, I pray, my friend, that you walk away encouraged, not with pressure to do more, but with a renewed hunger to open your Bible and meet with the Lord right where you are. Maybe you even picked up a new idea or two to try in your own season. But most of all, I hope you've been reminded that we need God's Word daily. It's not something we just squeeze in. It's our daily bread, our anchor, our life.
¶ Closing Thoughts on Our Journey
And again, you can visit the blog for a written summary of this episode. Again, it was too much to put into a full post, but I'm so glad you're here. And I'll put the link with how to access the free library if you're not already a blog subscriber.
All it is is I have a free library of printable resources for you, and then you would get my monthly newsletter. So that's it. I'm really, I'm grateful for all of you that are part of that now. So look for that either in the June newsletter that'll come out in a couple weeks or just head over to the free library and put the password in. And again, the password, look up your old emails, scroll to the bottom, and the password for it should be there.
So if this episode encouraged you, would you share it with a friend? Because it may be something that she needs to be encouraged in her walk with the Lord today. And however small your moments may feel today, God sees and God speaks through his word and his word is always enough, right? Jesus truly is enough always, my friend. I am so, so grateful for you being here with me today. I pray this was as encouraging to you as it was to me. I loved putting this episode together.
Again, you can find the show notes over at the blog at thankfulhomemaker.com. And if you're looking for a little help getting started or staying consistent in your time with the Lord, I do have a free download over at the blog. And if you sign up for the free library, it's already in there, so that works out well. But I have a guide to daily time with the Lord. It's just a very simple printable tool designed to encourage your heart and help you to stay anchored in God's word each day.
And I'm so grateful for you, my friend. And I do pray that you have a very blessed week. Music.
