Meet Alexis Avila, the founder of Prepped and Polished tutoring and test preparation in 1999. Headquartered in South Natick, the company helps elementary, secondary, college-level and adult students improve their grades and test scores and has served thousands of students across the globe. Through his 20+ years in business, Avila has been an innovator within the tutoring industry, creating over 300 free math, English, and test prep resources through his YouTube channel and podcast. The podcast is also a resource to help families deal with stress, make the most of time during quarantine, and demystify the college admissions process.
Alexis’s commitment to community extends beyond his company. He’s a member of the Wellesley Chamber of Commerce board of directors, was one of five finalists for Big Brother of the Year through Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America, and is involved with Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Mass Mentoring and Community Servings. He was recently honored as one of the 50 most influential business people of color by Newton Needham Regional Chamber.
