Each one is at a higher risk for experiencing the phenomenon of Imposter Syndrome.

So what is Imposter Syndrome?
- also referred to as: imposter phenomenon, imposterism, or perceived fraudulence
- Impostor Syndrome is a psychological occurrence in which an individual doubts their skills, talents, or accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a fraud.
- Imposter Syndrome involves feelings of self-doubt and feelings of personal incompetence that persist despite your education, experience, and accomplishments. usually when we take on something new, oftentimes outside of our comfort zone, that creates some feeling of inadequacy in us, despite our accomplishments we still feel like a fraud.

A few common signs of imposter syndrome:

  • regularly thinking, "I can't do this", "I am not ready for this", "I am not good enough to be in the position that I am in", or something similar.
  • you attribute your accomplishments to luck or mistake rather than to ability, and/or you think praise may be misguided (like they are wrong or you got away with it)
  •  you don't feel like you deserve the things you have or the things you want
  • you have a fear that someone will find out that you don't know what you're doing and will be exposed as a fraud
  • you are not worthy or able to take on the responsibilities you have been given
  • you try to do everything so perfectly that you freeze
