BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
Peter cared about the people who were new believers in Christ. He knew that they needed to grow in Him. And that’s why he put together two books: First and Second Peter. This is 2 Peter 1:12 NKJV. Listen: “For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth.”
Peter is saying, “Look, I know you know. But here’s a reminder.” Go back to the basics. Go back to knowing that God loves you so much that He sent His Son to be the virgin-born, sinless Person who would die for your sins, because He never sinned Himself. He never yielded to any temptation. And He became your sin substitute. He wants you to tell other people that He can be their sin substitute too, if they will really believe on the Lord Jesus. “For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth.” Peter is saying, “I’ve got more patience than you would believe. And though I’ve told you and told you and told you, I’m reminding you one more time.” Always trust Jesus. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.
