Why America is Running Out of Generic Drugmakers

Generic drugs.  Very often essential medications that are taken by millions of Americans, these life saving drugs are often available at low prices.  Unfortunately, that often means that they are manufactured overseas, subject to the whims of global pressures.  As a result, drug shortages are common, with some 300 medicines in short supply, according to the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
