Episode description

The World Bank recognises that financial inclusion is a key enabler in boosting prosperity, yet almost 1.7 billion adults globally do not have access to affordable loans, insurance, savings accounts, or digital payments. Many people in developing countries do not have any kind of bank account, and there is a lack of trust in the traditional banking system.

Today, we're talking to two industry leaders who are looking to change this, Ardelia Apti and Nate Clarke. Ardelia Apti is the CEO of Mapan, a social financial technology company, with a focus on providing financing access through the community. Nate Clarke is the CEO and President of GoTyme Bank, a bank that combines the ease of accessible and immediate account opening with the power of self-serve financial solutions.

In this episode, Ardelia and Nate explore how digital financial services can better help people manage and grow their wealth, particularly in regions where traditional banking is not possible. They'll share the steps that they have been taking within their companies to greater support financial inclusion, and the role that connectivity and 5G plays in this journey.
