What if you woke up today and wondered yourself, can I run my business with just open source software? So, the answer is yes. Computing with open source software is getting better all the time.
Most people have one or more applications or suites to create office documents and presentations. Then there is a spreadsheet, database, remote collaboration software tools, and more. Quite often, these programs are from Microsoft, Google, and Apple. There are some great free options available from open-source developers.
Open source software is generally available for anyone to use and modify. The source code for open source software is available for anyone to inspect, use, and modify. Open source software is usually developed collaboratively by a community of developers. The most well-known example of open source software is the Linux operating system.
