Episode description

Our classrooms are not just for us. It is a space meant for our students, and to encourage learning.  However having a space to call your own when you are sharing everything with about 25 other little people is important. This is why having a teacher desk or teacher area should be one of the first locations that you begin to organize.

We talk a lot about the sections to include in your space that it is organized and for times get busy, but we never talk about what NOT to do when organizing your space. In this episode we take a twist to teacher organization and share the things you need to avoid when setting up your teacher space this upcoming school year.

In this episode you will hear:

  • Our reference to episode 088. Teacher Desk Organization 101
  • How we feel about knick-knacks and items that serve no purpose.
  • The importance of not keeping more than what you need in your space.
  • Find a home for all your items or place it in a lost-and-found bin.
  • Don’t keep your curriculum materials at your desk.
