We're still talking about songwriting , but we're going to get into a great subject today . Before we do that , let's get into that theme music . Alright , alright , welcome back . We are there for you , so go check out all those amazing things . And also , we're going to be dropping a new project in June the Kingdom Radio . Kingdom Radio is coming soon . I'm going to be dropping a single soon as well , so stay tuned for that family . Alright .
So these next , these last , actually a couple of episodes that I've done is geared toward helping musicians with their process of writing , laying down tracks , if that's what you do .
The last episode I talked about VSTs and plugins and different things of that nature that you just check out and purchase if you need them , and but this episode I want to talk about a listening party . It's important to you know . Get to the place where you know .
It's important to have people in your life that can listen to your music and be honest with you and give you constructive criticism . This is very , very important . I'm not talking about someone that's hating on you , someone that's going to be negative for the sake of being negative . I'm not talking about them .
I'm talking about someone who will help you with your process , who will allow you to , you know , allow that environment to be safe and free , and they can give you suggestions on what to do . My wife does this for me . My wife comes in , I lay something down , I have an idea , and I'll have her come and listen to it .
No , she's not a , she's a musician , she's a vocalist . But you know , this is not what she does full time . But the woman has a great ear , she knows what to tell me . It can be something . Actually it's not small , it's very big , but it can be something that maybe that I've missed because I've been in the process of .
She can come in with fresh ears and guide me as to what I made it to change , take out whatever and I did this for my project , authentically me , my first EP . I had a couple of friends to listen to my project and give me some feedback on . You know what they think I should do , and so I want to give you this key .
I want to tell you that this is very , very important and I think that so you should have . You can do it in different ways . You can just have a couple of friends that you call and say , hey , I'm doing this project because you listened to it . You can also have a listening party .
You know , have some friends over , you have some food , you know , make it , make it , make it out , you know . So make it an event is what I'm trying to say , and you know . And have them come over , listen to your music and have them give you feedback on what they think , what they think you should do , you know .
And or you can also just call a friend , call someone on the phone . You know , have them there with you , like I have my wife , but you can call someone on the phone . Hey , listen to this right quick . Or you can just send it to them .
You know it's easier to send it to them and you know , listen to how , listen to , you know what they're going to tell you .
One of the ideas that one of my friends gave me my best friend , nia is that she was talking about background vocals and I think what I was doing I don't know if I was going straight to harmony or if I was doing this pattern where I was just doing . Yeah , I think I was doing unison first and then harmony . I think I was doing all of them .
So I think she has suggested on one of them that I was going straight to harmony and I'm not sure if I was able to change or not , but it was great feedback just to just to change things up and make things different , you know , and so this is very important and it's a part of the process . Now don't get me wrong , emotionally it's going to be tough .
You've been working on this music , or you've given your producer the idea . They flushed it out for you and now you're at this place where you want people to start hearing . You may not have had it mixed yet , but this is raw , it's rough , but you want them to hear what you're doing before you get a mix or whatever .
This is one of emotionally , you know , hit you a little bit because you're inviting people into that intimate space and this is okay . You know it's not easy to do . It's not easy to put music out for people to hear and people to criticize or whatever , and you know so it's .
But it's important to have , you know , have this done , just like , for instance , you know when , if you're , if you're an engineer , if you mix and master your own stuff or you mix it . Eventually you want to go get it . You know you want to listen to it in different , on different devices , your car and speakers , whatever and so you that same type of idea .
You know , after you have made the stuff out , you got the music laid down , you know you want to have someone listen to it . That's not you , because you're locked in . You know what I mean , and so you're you're , you're used to the sound , you know you , of course , you know people like their own stuff . They think it's cool and it is cool .
But but there's always more that you can do or add or take away . You know , sometimes less is more , and so this is a great , great way that you can take your process to the next level . I know that it may seem like a lot , but take it one day at a time .
You know , have some people that you trust , whether it's vocalists , producers , engineers , whatever it is . Have a team , and also that team needs to be able to give you constructive criticism , people who care about you , people who really want to see you shine , and they will give you what you need . All right , so I just want to drop that . I'm not .
I didn't want this episode to be too long , I just want to drop that . So I'm going to go back into my links here . You know the toolkit for musicianship mastery in my class . Go and check that out for my musicians , upcoming and those who are already playing . Great tools there for you . My channel , the Tony King Experience .
Go there , check it out , like and subscribe if you dig it . You know , learn something new to others about it . Let's continue to grow this channel . Also , my company , rare Keys Production and Music School , for my creatives , for my artists . If you're looking for any type of , you know production keys , you know .
If it's consultation , if you need vocal ideas , whatever it is , we are here for you . All right , there is a link tree link for you . I think I forgot about this . There's a link tree link there . If you want to know who I am , know more about me . There's a link there for you to learn more about me . It's linked also to my website .
Should also be there , which I need to update . Should also be there . And , like I said before , the consultation part is new to Rare Keys . So go and check out these things . We are here for you to serve you All right . So thanks for checking out this episode . I hope you're having a wonderful day .
If you're not having a wonderful day , you can change that by your mindset . Thanks so much for checking out .
