Ep 3: Kate Nicholls| Author, Educator, Ex-Actress and Ex-Lion Researcher
Episode description
Kate Nicholls is an author, educator, ex-lion researcher and ex-actress. Our interview was actually 1hr43min and (as much as it ached me) I managed to get it down to a bite-sized 38min. We touch on the value of sharing a story and breaking the wall of silence, how invaluable that can be for ourselves ad those around us; her unconventional schooling methods and her passion for feminism.
She moved from the UK to Botswana in 1995 where she raised, and homeschooled, her five children in the Okavango Delta. The family researched lions for over eleven years. Afterwards, she moved to South Africa to live in Johannesburg and then the Eastern Cape.
Currently, Kate lives in Rome where she is writing her second book and running the home school business she founded in 2012. Kate is passionate about female empowerment and revolutionizing 21st-century education. You can grab a copy of her first book, ‘Under the Camelthorn Tree: The Impact of Trauma on One Family’ from Exclusive Books or Amazon (or a local bookstore).
