Do you find older DJ's welcome? Majority I'm our coach. Get off that fence. Because we're too fast just breaking through two young lads going to their own hanging, like they've had this stigma around the whole thing. My guests are a music duo, couple of DJs from North Belfast. These guys have been blown up for a long time. They play all over the world, and they've been aware of them for some time. And then we thought, why not just get them on the pod? Because it's fun when we go slightly outside of comedy.
But two hilarious guys. Tell us about how they got started and what it's like being a DJ from here in 2024. Great. Crack with Symmetric. Please enjoy this episode with me. Podcast. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Tony, that's just from that. Thanks for having me first time in Hollywood. Or just know the just know the time like. Been in here a couple of times. Umm, we've had lunch and Shooters Place.
Cross order, Yes, Lovely. Couple of months ago, umm, but we're never really around here much like. Are you both from North Belfast? Yeah. Whereabouts? Woodville. I was supposed to do the festival years ago. I think that it's you mentioned would be on a siren start. Umm, I. There was someone says the word. Fuck the happens comedy at the festival like four years ago Willie Thompson did a couple other boys.
Actually, whatever. Reason they couldn't do it, but I think that it was like a giant stage. They were like, it was unreal, but like 20 people were there for the stand up because then everyone was going for the music. Yeah. Have you done that? That's funny you say that every year taxi the one of the first big gigs we had was in the Woodville festival, umm, coming out of lockdown and it was on real man that's take that's where like stuff started that it's. Grew up in that park as kids.
And then we went and done the gigger before, and then we'll be able to bring her Brown the year after. So we actually had her Brown started, done her own show with her own lineup. Yeah. And it was like, wow, this is actually happening. Like the dream is happening here. You know the. Hometown gig like. This. Is what happens when boys from my boys from Ross, Belfast come to Hollywood. It's just the police got to be cheering.
I'd love to do like I'd never been able to do really like a hometown show here in Hollywood because the only venue we kind of have for it would be the leisure centre and it's a council venue, so they don't want to run like a gig at night. Is that where you're from, man? Yeah, yeah, but. And I want to do something but I've just never been able to because home gigs are our. Class actually. Yeah, we do shows on the Telegraph, we do shows already.
You can stuff and beyond, but when you go and do that home show on the Telegraph and the family and stuff comes down, yeah. Special what? Was it? What was the 1st Live Not Not Together or whatever? What was the first time you ever played music in front of a crowd? I was, it was my sister, it was my sister's 18th, right? She's 27th and ID get at her party and I was like 15. Were you just going by your own? Name sit and bang it out on the ground. Didn't have a clue.
You know, my first gig was an exile. You're all Rangers. Just again, actually. Working on Sports Direct, didn't even have a side of headphones. Got booked for gig when the TK Max across the road from Sports Direct went there and bought a pair of headphones. Play that is it. How was it and what what? Names. Did you go by a first or just their own? Name just while humour like. I I I called myself D Mac. Right. Because you can't go fad solo like Donner own solo hanging.
And that was like this message each other one day and we were like listen over the start something the gallery here and then that type of forms. Remember the first song you played was the gallery? No, but like when you were DJ and by yourself, what was the song you put in where you go? They're going to love this. That's a good question. That's a good question. Has been mainly like, were you talking like is it, was it the first time you're DJ? Is it like clubland kind of stuff it?
Would be like more old school trancey stuff like guy club. Landing, Babe. I Yeah, definitely. But I couldn't tell that like first converty, remember years ago, yeah. DJ and like the buzz of that must be on real. Phenomenon. It's like probably when you're when you're styling up the and styled up, you don't mean you got a good reaction on the job. It's like the the feeling mint that shows.
We did it years ago, me and jungle, but actually me and my mate Dave that are shown really well start and we just played dance music because one supposed to be that. Yes, and then everyone's just in shit form as proper lockdown. But the weather was unreal. So we asked them or like could we just play old school dance because that's like the music I love. Yeah, I'm not like an expert at all. Like if you mention anything other than the 30 well known old school down tracks, I won't have
a clue. But that's what we were playing like no limits in Mr V in proper sound store, all the cheesier sort of stuff that everyone would know. And then we just, that was our show then every week and it was brilliant. And they, I was then getting offers to go and DJ places because they were like when because it was outdoor and they were like, will you come and do this for us live? And I know because I was like shut off. I don't know how to.
Do nearly drop so. Do you know what I think it'd be good? Do you know what I think it'd be good at this year? But then I couldn't do any of the stuff, so it'd just be standing for an hour and a half like Jesus. Pose No, I couldn't. I couldn't. I did. We did talk about doing like because Kelly's in Portrush had an outdoor thing. Like a bar. And they were going, we'll get a DJ that who knows what they're doing to do all the heavy lifting and you can just like
mess about a bit. But I didn't want to like, I feel like it'd be like disrespecting DJs or something if it did it. I just couldn't. Do it me. And for comedian, yeah. I couldn't do. And. Then I didn't want to get like Nova. I didn't want to be people coming to gig see me do stand up me like I when you're going to do my wife. Yeah, I forgot so. And how do you get together then? We just mates. We're we knew each other in school, mate. He was the year above me in school.
And then we had like Dax and stuff like a music room in our school. Oh, why? Because normally it's. Like I know big big. Shout out to our school as well like they're heavily influencing music like from us for being a young age they had a space of equipment in the music room and like somewhere actually production for GCSE and also. Usually stabbing, you know.
Yeah, he came in every Friday and he would have like taught us every Friday like how to mix and like a wee bit on production and no one was really arsed on the production and school like, you know, everyone just wanted to. Everyone, I feel like when I was growing up, everyone had decks I didn't, but like everyone had decks, but people didn't necessarily know how to use
them, but everyone had them. So let me take a quick minute to tell you that this episode of the podcast is sponsored by our friends at Better Help. You know, I always think I would like to learn the language. I mean, I know one, but like an extra 1, you know, but then I think, you know, you can only learn things when you were a kid. So I always put it off and go, I'd love to do that, but that's something I'll never have time or be able to do.
I'd also like to play guitar. You know, my kids, they, they learn things, they run a boat. We teach them new things. But I don't know, I feel like maybe I get to an age where you just shouldn't learn things. What I say about an old dog, but
not I'm not a dog. But if there's something you want to do, you know, whether it's you want to you want to beat your dad in badminton or you know you want to learn Mandarin therapy can help you reconnect with your sense of wonder because your back to school era can come in any age. You know what's what's something I learned. I'm sure I learned something recently at boxing. I I I, I learned how to box. I thought I didn't watch the back, but I didn't know how to do that.
And then I put on some boxing gloves we've done for the comedian charity boxing, which I've never mentioned. And it's one of the best things I've ever done. And I had that feeling where I said to myself, why have I not been doing this like my whole life? Like why did I not take this up when I was 11 or 12? And for me a big one is like drama and acting and stuff. I would, I would love to have done that when I was really young, but I was worried what people would say about it and
all that kind of thing. Whether or not you've been in therapy personally or you know someone who has better help is a great way to go because you don't go to a place to do it. You can do it at home. If what they do is they match up with a registered, a registered licenced therapist. And here's the beauty of this. If you feel like you guys don't connect, you can change any time for no additional cost. It's entirely online and it's convenient and flexible to your schedule. Better help.

Of course, the link is in the description. Let's get back into this episode. So that's good. Look like school. Like that was in school. That's. What we sort of brought on our free periods, so. We dropping it Would you be dropping a set at lunchtime or anything like that? I. Mean just in mixing. Where's Curtis?
Where's Dean? Just free periods up. And that's where we were. Scratching was when I was growing. Everyone had like a cousin who could scratch on decks and it was unreal. It's. Just like when you're just when you're that age just below going to drinking age as in going to the bar when you're maybe like 12/13/14. I feel like every Friday or some we be in someone's house just sitting, no, just sitting watching their Big Brother. Just some 17 year old scratching.
You're like, this is funny. Oh. It's a coolest guy of all time. My cousin can grab better in yours. I love, I look at that and go, I can and I can tell you, you might go, Oh, you could at some like I couldn't master. I don't have the brain to work out how to do that many things at once. We. Find it so easy now we find like doing the live gigs, like during the weeks of hard work, right, You're going to play a show at the weekend. That's the for us, it's like the easiest part, yeah.
It's like our fun, say, where people see it as our work, where the weekend we're going and playing shows. We're seeing that as a. Break I like our Monday to Freddy's at work like going and doing the shows and production what's going to work for the for the next credit or trying to come up with fresh ideas like that's our proper work and then like us going and testing the music we made at the weekend is
the fun part right right and. Then when you've got like at school, we used both, you both had an interest in that and then how did you go, let's do this together. With with sort of had solo careers as well when we left school and then we just message each other one day. We're both sort of doing the same thing and we're like, do you know what? When we'll start something up the gallery here, fuck it. And then we're like, what way name? What will come up with freight?
We'll sort of look like HR. We'll say parallel or symmetrical and everybody just capture these brothers brothers, you know what I mean? So like we'll go symmetrical for K. Fuck it. And it's stuck. Just you know what I mean? Ah, do you know what I mean? Just. Just that's been that and then we're in their sick fear now.
What was like some of the starting out because like we're standing up, everyone has horror gigs at the start and you can still be kept both of a real bad one, but like used out more I think experiences and good ones way back in the day. So what was one of the first ones you did where you were like, this is not what I want to be doing? Like if you get somewhere. Fair to be a good. I know. We've done one that I'm not saying the name because it's, it's, it's like.
What? What then like and it was like a shack engineer and and there was a pizza of them. Oh yes, rape, shade, tax. And it was like 5 people are and I was like just looking at the pizza and I was like this isn't for us. Like this is a saying. There's a pizza of like. Start mixing night. Turn around, look at him. He had a pizza hat on. He spinning the dough. All the sauces not I think this isn't right. Like it was a DJ booth and.
It was and seeing like. Because that's the thing, no matter how good the songs you're playing, our pizza is always better. It's like I did a gig and kill Kennedy at the festival there and the guy on before me, it was his birthday and they were doing like they were going to surprise him on stage. And I brought a cake on stage. It's big, amazing looking cake and call it. And then I was going on and I was like, I can't compete with
cake. See, when cakes been on stage, people go cakes on real bet y'all taste nice. Another thing about the cake. And then I'm come on doing my best off and I'm not going to be as good as cake. Do you know what I mean? And use it's the same. We're. Obsession with I like a thing at the start, people would promise you it's going to be unreal. Like bookers and promoters. It's going to be parked.
This place is going to be on. A lot of times. 300 people guaranteed and then you get there and it's just it's just not bad. But would use of like how can how can you fuck up at the start? Technically, you know, technically can you knock the music off? Can you? That's easy. Don't make it's still very easy. I mean the press or 1 button you can turn the music off like and it's still the also it's easy, but you're still in control of the whole crowd like you know what I mean?
So if you do, you mess up like the you're you're responsible for. That's how we get away from their heads and we fuck up and make sure like oh sure, shows we're live anyway, prerecorded. Yeah, because what, what would you say DJs do prerecorded versus playing live? What? What percentage? How to do it? I know man, I couldn't stand there and like. I must eat. Look like butter. I'm doing something, you know what I mean? They swear. Must eat butter. Swear, mate.
Just pure straight marmalade. Suppose you're like, what balls would they be getting off it there? No was because you love see having that balls like not knowing what you're playing next and then go on here. Why don't we drop this and? Then they're reacting if you. Prerecorded that it could be something coming in. But not only that, like if you're standing there with food prerecorded our mix, like you're standing there, like what do you meant to be doing? Yeah, yeah.
You're. Just trying to make it look like that's what I need you. Know what I mean? But. I prerecorded mixing. You go over and you just hear the the do this if it's all prerecorded. That's it, You're master. Here. They have to make it look like it's not quite going right. Aye, questioning. Yourself. Got a mastered? Give a third are all we point on. Have you ever seen Mel Mel B from the Spice Girls and Mel C DJ and Ibiza and Cafe Mambo? So we're saying you'll see
people are like. To see, I like, did you see that one tomorrow? I was your Roman Grimes. You called her and oh. I know who you're talking. About someone which played it. Blonde girl played it tomorrow but basically she completely messed whole shout up went on to make and I was like they haven't give me the rating and all I can't add this she's going I can't add this sum up and all the way as track and all needs to be mixed in. So if it was like Mars. Right, right they.
Could have given me the wrong equipment and just walked off stage. But like you're booking big people like because she's like a model. They booked a model to go on DJ having a clue on the mainstage of tomorrow and then. It's been going on the making see and stuff like that. You're just showing, I said. You're just making 10 times worse.
I suppose it's like stand up in a way of like there's people who who will have a word for word set so they have an hour long show and they'll say at the same night, yeah, every word the same. I don't know how person personally, I don't know how you'd enjoy that as the ACT because it's just like a monologue. It's like you're reciting a piece.
Whereas I like that loads of moments where I I know I need to get from here to here, but I don't know what I'm going to say to do it. Or you can come up with a new bit as you're saying it and then not that excites me and I'm I'm that cracks me up a bit because it's a new bit. Yes. So I look like I don't know what's coming next, and I do have a rough idea like you probably have a. Yes, it's like the track list. But you can throw it out the window if you need to.
Yeah, you probably prepared a couple of jokes before we prepared like a couple like say double drop. So like mixing, not that sort of double drop by the way, like mixing another track with another track, you know what I mean? So it's like dropping the galler and like we'll prepare that. So you have you ever? Do a triple drop. Depends how you're feeling. Like it depends on the keys. But it's like, it's like us
having that track. Are you having that we lane or where you don't know if it's going to work or not. Yeah. And you've sort of had it your hair and you go, right or throw it in and it goes off. You know what I mean? You're like, this is going to work or not and you throw it and you go, you know what I mean? It works. So it's just like that live aspect of everything, isn't it? Yeah, it adds up like so. What was the first gig you stayed together when you decide
you're going to be a Jew? We've done, we've done a couple of ones. Would have been like in the. Bat in the Bat in the town, a couple of club ones but like the 1st and they show Big Gig was in the reveal part because we're sort of formed up, had a couple of club shows and then COVID it. So it was like 2 years. But we went in the studio grafted being all this new music, and then first kick back was reveal. Part. We had the following ready for when not for.
That show, yeah, because like during lockdown as well, like loads of DJ's stop posting on social media obviously because there was no gigs, but we weren't really getting any gigs anyway, so we were like not. Just a ghetto were the only ones. Shout out to George Floyd. But I, we, we basically had those gigs anyway because we were, we only started like just before last year.
So it maybe had like 5 gigs and then we just started making loads of music and we're like great with nothing to lose here. Just start making music flat out, start posting more content on social media. So like coming out out, we're like ready. They don't even had a bit of fan baser. And then we've done that gig and then that just like sort of changed everything. Started getting bookings across the water and stuff and stuffs. Classic. I remember when he he did that
rooftop gig. It's one of those things I look back on and go that I make it up, you know, in lockdown. It was a wild time. I don't remember what was real, what's not. And him doing that rooftop gig, I still don't know if that's real life that and I can't say there's a song someone locally released the support, a movement that was happening at the time and it lived. I was going. To say 2 words, but I'll give it away. Put the mic. Down a SEC that the show we're talking about don't fuck.
Shut the cat then make up, folks. I told you like I was just going to start dropping like rather I feel like a genius here. What we use? What was your setup when you first started? Like, you know, production, all that sort of thing together. Was it one of your houses? And a lot. Just chatting about that earlier on mate. I bought only a food by a food shed years ago and it was bought from. I don't even know if that's a massive shit or a. Kind of shit it's not that easy.
I have 6 food each so we could lie flat each in it. You know what? I. Mean. So is that what we're trying to lie? There. So had that say this yet? So it was fucking tiny mate. But when I moved in the and bigger, but at the time like it was like me and me and hem's 26 foot 4 files and that's when he shits and they got. Can I put any news you get it like can I? Throw an idea there. Yes. What's the what's the dream venue? Right, Because I have an idea.
What's the dream venue? Like over here. Yeah. Here. Have to be Bellside, it's got to be on. Park like yeah. You start the set in an 8 foot by 8 foot shit on stage. And I like bust out of it because. It symbolises where you started and then during a drop. Could even be a quadruple drop. Don't know, I said. That's a good shape very lately.
During the drop it the walls fall and user I suppose though everyone would need to know the story about the shed, otherwise they're going to. Go M2 heads are in the shed. You go out at the start and you go. When we started, we used to make music in any foot by your food shed, yeah. So when we. Have a break for 10 minutes, going to come back on. And when we burst out of it, just make sure he's all go metal. It opens up, you're just. Like he's knocked himself out on it.
And so was it just like around like just working on a laptop or? Just a wee computer, yeah, had the speakers are and we just sat and turned it out. We're both working full time jobs as well all the time, so I was like a gardener, landscaper I was. Doing a Gartman I was run for work for like civil service and stuff like that so. Both working into five jobs, finish work home, get your dinner and then we're straight into the shed every night. 5 from.
Like 6-5 years. So really going to work at 9, starting at like 5, going up at 6 again starting at 11. Do you know what I? Mean is the process like say, well, what suppose I don't know, but like, is it like, you know, let's try and make a track like this? Or is it you, you remember a song and you go, we should, we
should rework that like. Yeah, it's more just like gather an inspiration like that would have maybe at the start we would have been like, let's make a track, I guess, and like we would have referenced that track. But yes, that's more like just getting inspiration of like a certain genre or like a sound and going like, how's that me?
Do you know what I mean? You know how the change been made and then like just Dave deeper into it and then using your own sound and just being creative, you know, I mean just like trial and error really we'll. Make different things, like we'll do remixes and then we'll make original music, but we'll do it a different way. So we'll do a remix where we'll look at an older classic, get the parts for it and making in their own song and we're making
an original track. We'll probably more likely to be in a writing camp or be working with our producers and writers and stuff and come up with something original there. So there's just different ways and methods. They're writing certain types of music from our from our end. You ever work on something for some reason you can't clear it? Or the you can't. Yeah, happens all the time.
Yeah, it's. More like a sample, yeah, it's happening more and more often as well because like loads of stuff sampled, like even if you use a track like from like 15 years ago, like that's probably been sampled somewhere else or like, do you know what I mean? So it's just, yeah, you're better off just trying to keep it as original as possible because. That's how I feel like I'm
getting old. If I search for a song on Spotify from when I was always listening to music, it's it brings me the new version of. Yeah, there's like five older versions. You know what? I mean I'm like, how can I be this old that this song from my youth has been done twice? Because all those songs now are like big example blue I feel 65. I had no idea that's a get a song. Called yes, I feel yeah, but I know. It just feels like, it just feels like right now they're redoing all the songs.
All of them from my youth. Like they're going through I like a list. Yeah, I just going right. You're next. Yeah. And ripped the part. I I can I can we the live podcast in the SSE and we brought Mark McKee about to do Maniac 2000 at the end because I think from my youth, like that's the song that just takes really does it all. Back that doesn't like. And where it's where there's even. Martha Lynn to E Oh yeah, on the
on his radio show like. He was brilliant boss, like when he came down, like no fuss, like he was just well up for it. But like when, when, when the song comes out, that's when that that's when I want to listen to dance. I'm not like a big dance music head at all, but when the weather's good, that's that's my genre. Feels good shapes. Especially the old school stuff. Something about it or something about it? But then I was not for the weird thing is.
For a reason. You know, I was never going out at that because that's music from when I was that's. What I was going? To say, that's what I was going to say, Do you listen back down on a sunny day? Like not only enjoying music, it's about a nostalgia too. Yeah, yeah, Major, you feeling? Did you do much club? Do you do much club? I'm still not saying that you're OK That's saying I'm not going to say you know to be. Did you or do you still know? None.
No, I would have. I would have went out a fair bit, but I wasn't. He looks like an El Divino type of guy, don't me. No, no, he looks like he looks like an alibi type of guy, don't they? I'd love to denial to be no, but knee deep every Thursday sitting up in the VIP with turtleneck on gig. I yeah, it's not what I thought you said there for a split, but yeah, I would I would have went though but what it it actually was never really about the the music for me then it's just
about going out. I wouldn't have gone out to a certain club because I wanted to hear a certain kind of music. Like the music was always second room now, whereas now I'd rather go and see like a concert or something where it's specifically the music. That's the way it's when that's the way it's yeah sway. I mean like a lot, a lot of club shows like I've read a statistic or a certain amount of like 1000, like 2 or 3000 clubs shot in the UK because of COVID.
Like people are even not seeing it because we're in the industry. People are being more swayed towards a. Bigger festival shows. Yeah, but club. But clubbing really isn't a big thing anymore at all. And even like in a big fair, like some of the clubs as well, like they're not really doing that well either, do you know what I mean?
They get people just want to go. Yeah, I, I have like grown ideas where if we're away on holiday or something, or a stag, I go one night, we'll go to the club, we'll do it. And the reality of it is so different to what I'm thinking. I'm ahead. So we went on a, a stag there in, in Magaluf and we went there with BCM and I was leaving that. I was like one night we'll just go for it. We'll go to BCM and that it's it's like it's the age thing.
We arrive at half 10 and I'm like, boys, this is not going to have 10 and there's. Probably no one there. I think the early eyes it was like. In the opening there was awesome one, all gay. There's a guy in 1/6 like it must have been, it must have been like a millionaire foreign guy.
And it was just awesome him and then a couple of other people showed up. But they're like it gets busy at like 12, half 12. Yeah, like people they kind of beef and stuff like people that wait until after one. I can't hack up. It's crazy. That's because of the price of the the drink and stuff as well in the in the actual clubs. Like as a punter people are going to go and pre drink do you know what I mean before they want to spend £100. And I wouldn't read any of the
music. I'd know some of the DJs. But one in four, one in five, I'm not like, like him. He was the guy like my friend that was like into the dance music back in the day. But like I was I'd be like, it'd be like a fair weather football fan. That's what I would have been like with I didn't know, like the Premier League team, yes, whereas he's out listening to like conference N teams. I thought makes sense.
I would go to, I would go to Old Trafford twice a year and he'd be every week like Spartans, you know, You know what I mean? He's what I am on his like at the match, then goes and watches match he's. A holder Hamel hamsters. But yeah, because like, yeah, the how, how since you've got in the plan since you started, how is I know that how much the comedy industry changed, but how much is the live music and the dance music scene changed since you started?
Has it like gone in an upward trajectory? Yeah. Took a wee way to get going, especially just to get its feet on the ground, you know what I mean? But especially over the last year, it's not really picked up again, but has. And I think there was like, I don't know what it was. The birds also like, a like a stigma around different genres where, like, you couldn't make a certain genre if you were this type of DJ or that. Do you know what I mean?
But everything's coming like, as one, Like, everything's starting to like, blend like all these different genres or like coming together. You're seeing, like, different DJs on, like, techno lineups and like, it's just good to see, like, there's a lot diversity. Diversity in the scene. Yeah. Should it be like maybe snobbery around like, you know, that's too commercial or?
Yeah, the root of been, but now there's no one gives a. Fuck, and especially we're here like see in Belfast, like see the scene in Belfast. I mean I'm never like everyone's talking about it like you look at like All Stars shows Billy Gillies, like Yep, you know what I mean. Probably missed a loader, but like the scene is mad, you know what I mean? And how much people's coming up
at the one time it's. Great dance music speak live dance music seems very similar to comedy in that it's it's huge in these working class cities in Ireland and like north of England sort of. Places goes massive as well like. Like for us, it's like Belfast, Dublin, Glasgow, Liverpool, couple other places like that. And sometimes I speak DJ's and they're like, oh, they're the cities. Like the dances big into.
Yeah. Like, because we used to always we saw London as like the place for comedy and nobody talks about that. Yeah. I think that's maybe a bit like dance music. Yeah, it is. London would be more like, it's still better dancers, but it's more like drum and bass and like proper on the like. Do you know what I mean? So. I like I love the idea club but I would need to be in like a literal bubble to go there.
See when we get over like a couple of times or 8 camps and stuff mate, I just, I could never ever like see everyone's just at a rush. I'd like to be suspended above the crowd, but you can't see me so I can, like, drink tea. You. Want to have a visibility? I want to just watch sound sound wrong, sound like pervert. But I mean, I like the idea of it. But I like see Glastonbury. I like to stream. I like to watch it at home in the red button I gots.
I feel like I'm there but I'm also on the sofa like. You've seen everything as well, Like yeah, instead of standard and AMOK, Yeah, Different stages. No, Yeah. It just depends. I think you're. The atmosphere was like, it's like a football match too, Yeah. Why do people buy season tickets when you watch it on the TV? Yes, they go because the atmosphere, it's like a gig. I remember I did love energy one O 6 discos back in the day and the non ice ball.
They were. We would have been too old. They were under 18 discos and Energy 106 was the shit. Like it. You listen to it all the time and they used to bring out CDs, compilation CDs, and I had loads of those. Actually heard that actual radio stations coming back in. Oh yeah, they used to have the actual. Yeah, yeah, it's coming back in. Because they used that they used to play it was like Friday or Saturday night to have like the chart and it was it was
brilliant. Main Act 2000 number one for months or years. But it was great. Then they did, they did these youth discos and it was unreal. Like, it was absolutely, absolutely brilliant. Class. And I got stuff like that that makes it the scene so big over here because it's like all that sort of music being drilled in the kids and instilled in them from a young age. Like our parents were listening to that music. And yes, you know, it's like, it's like a generation. I think.
That's why it's producing so many DJs and producers, because the musics and the culture. Yeah. Brought down, yeah. Generations, you know, and we're all listening to it and it's just. An Azusia, it's like they're them working class cities as if it's like came, but it's like almost like a culture and yeah, he's doing what I mean trust to see like a. Scooter what I know, and he's not even the guy. Back there, we're a guy. Next Mark Gates week? Yeah, I would a gig with him. Is it next?
Week, I couldn't believe he he he's he's like the he's on the mic. Yeah, he's not he's not on the decks. No, no, that's not because you think a scooter is like him. But the scooter is like a bad almost yes. Bond changes like a producer. Changed up every now and again I. Feel like I feel like there has. But as long as he's there. He's our he's the he's the foreman of eased and me and man
like because. I remember speaking the promoter who had Scooter over and I was like, yeah, back I'd be old. Like I was like, does he take it easy and stuff where he goes on and that sort of thing? They're like. Smokes about sexy face. The speaker system they have backstage, like they are just pumping it in their dressing room backstage and then go on and do. That show, but how like German? I think it's these German German. Yeah.
How do you do that for 30 years? And then his voice box has his voice. The only way you can get that voice is if you smoke 20 Rigo a day. Right, right, right. Yeah. We seen we were at another festival, it was that one we were doing from last year, but from a backstage attaining after the IT must have done about 30 figs and put it down. The one I had changed what? Did you just get chatting to? Not really. We asked him for a. Telegraph spoke to him in the Telegraph before last year.
He was playing Pelsonic. Got an after party, was it? We played the after party, didn't we? And then he came there. Mental that he still loves it like. At home. He loves. It seem to be in the scene. That long you have to sort of love it. I think you have to be big and I'll. Be so sad if you found out he didn't love it. How bad would you feel if he didn't be? Surprised at the fact you'd. Be surprised that a few people you think love it and they don't.
Just look what you mean, like just lose the passage. And they don't get sort of marked themselves like that, but they really don't, you know what I mean? Like they're get, they get on as if. They're on the shots over the shoulder, not even. There's just a few why we're talking about that. Say no more. I love how like everyone watching this going to be like, what are they? Talking about you mean boys have to be like build their brand on.
I'm not and I just live for the session of being on it and that's part of the brand and then privately. I don't, yeah, I think it annoys us because we just, we, we follow a rule of code is just be yourself. And I think it annoys us when you're pretend to be a CSN and you're not. Just be yourself. Just do your thing because people constantly go about all the time trying to be someone or not. It doesn't work. Doesn't work. Yeah. And listen, there's two dozen
that's like. Oh, a lot of people I've actually got. A wee list here, people actually no, but you get like there's some people like that brand themselves like that actually are like that, which is good. Because it's just, we're just going, we're going their shells out. Who, who? Who loves it? Who've you've met? Who've you've met? That see like see Dara Dara is the most ADHD fellow on this planet so she has brand number trouble at suits him because he is literally yes.
That big shout out to him, I. Saw him. He's not right. I saw him in the been on here before he had him on and chat to him sometimes and I saw him in the airport boarding and I saw him sitting in the airport and he'd had a show I think the night before he's travelling somewhere else and it was like 7 the morning sitting in Starbucks and I could tell by looking at him he loves. Yeah, yeah. You could tell he'd been loving it the night before and he was on his way.
He wasn't loving it sitting in Starbucks, but then he was going to be loving. He said the feeler of him and shogs and also we do like a things like Bob. It's basically just on the line up. It's called called Bob and people's like what the fuck, But it's called Best of Belfast, basically the promote, the promoter of the gigs who books us over in Belfast. Still, you may know she'd done this whole concept.
So we've done the ball but the feeder closing it and we were playing our new tune and we were around the front. We didn't even realise until after we were playing our new tune. Having the moment there are having the moment Star stroke some someones motorbike helmet go metal the motorbike she'll just beat the fucker down. Motorbike helmet that thought it was like a. Crap me and him went back. This was funny about it. We we were down to front the stage.
We went back up and started mixing the game and everything was alright and then we watched the video back and next thing Dart stand behind us. We're having on the foul the motorbike. The fellow don't motorbike helmets over go like I'd take the helmet off. They're took the tail. I actually need to show the video after she was so. Funny. So funny. We didn't know a thing. And we were like, that's so funny.
Yeah, 'cause. When users are standing out in front and a tune's dropping it's heart like bar, like I'm saying I would do this. It's hard to know what to do outside of that. You know, everyone's bouncing around having fun, but it does. Obviously we were using making stuff as well like to put on a bit of like actual performance instead of just standing there for an hour. So like it's like when the user make the right times like when to jump on top of tax and all you.
Know will you ever drop a techno techno techno on the mic? What's that? Techno techno techno one time came on here on if. We're doing cream fields tomorrow. You want to do for. Imagine me a cream fields. Jesus Christ. I'd have to be like smuggled through, you know, the morning a bit. Earlier action, but my life because we feel like it's a good way and they're acting with fans, you know? What I mean and what time is the show? We're playing half of that I. Need to be aware Tim. What?
I didn't even hear. You remix sound funny but. You should make someone that does the Walters. Faster, faster for the Master Blaster scream if you want to go faster. That was that was based on a guy. We weren't done a goal. There was a guy doing the Walters and we would just go back every night to listen to him because he was given that everything and he was DJ and too like, but he was he was not getting a respect he deservedly. I know I had game them.
Them guys don't deserve enough credit me because they're sitting there for 12 hours a day at that. Like, yeah, yeah, I should have no voice left. It's a boys pushing him as well, I mean. Ah yeah, but she's the faster pussy. Something I can all day. All day when? Each me and I say I'm never going to want again. Like I can't do anything like that at all from first. No. Do you ever see him hangs you get on the swings like the big metal swing. I can't get on them yet that. We play a planet.
We were playing a planet. Love wasn't a planet. Love. Yes. ** got him on the what was it the big swing that? Went on the the corner. Upset and everywhere. I don't like doing stuff like that because the fells don't seem, they just look like us. Do you know what I mean? It's just some guy. It's not an expert, but he's not an expert. And you're putting a trust in. Him. I want a boy in his late 50s who just knows what he's doing. It's just some fell in a windbreaker.
They're putting up. They're putting it up like a day. Yeah, yeah. They're not safe. I don't care what anyone says. I remember Planet Fun. It was the big thing at the front, the big like slingshot kind of thing. And a guy went up to it. He might have been like Bulgarian or something. And he went up to it and there was like a problem and people were like stuck at the top for only about a second. And we saw him as we were
walking in just boot something. And I started working and he just, he didn't change his facial expression, but at least like it'll do. See there was ones in like tannery for the beef and big slave shots like they don't get used for like half a year and they just turn it on again one day. Expected to do we? Put our saw more mysteries. We were sitting there. We were like slings, had one off all day. Soon. As we cracked up the drink.
When we were in Magaluf recently a couple of mates did that and I, I, I, I didn't like it. I didn't like the door doing that. I just bought more than once or something like that. You're absolutely raging, mate. Imagine you get on a sling. That's how you go. Yeah, fuck me. Imagine. I just take it on that. Your last word your family have to get told what they say when he. Was down past early 5th. No, they were doing. I said 10,000 feet up the artist legs, yet I was.
In the karaoke bar like. I don't trust them. I don't trust them. Karaoke. No, that's fucking. I love karaoke like I love karaoke. Trust them. Test them up one night by words. I love karaoke. I can't. That's my. Karaoke bar, I know. What you what? You saying what we say? I hadn't seen. On I was waiting on Utah, you look to me like, what would you say? You said you love karaoke. Karaoke. What would be? Your I don't like. I like looking at people making
it easier themselves. Yeah. Oh, I'm not a singer, I'm a spectator. Yes, really good point. So what are you thinking? I. Don't go to much karaoke bars. Mine's walking to Memphis, but the mark home because I did get stitched up because of my If I go to the guy run that by the way, he's a DJ. But as I like he's gone. This boy's like 60. You could tell he's been a Michaeloo for a long time. We English guy and he's just
doomed. He's just sitting in a booth and attend news and stag news and I asked for a walking in Memphis and I said the mark home version specify I walk in Memphis made the mark home version and that's probably why has gone people coming up to him asking for specific. Versions and. I was like that and a sweet and then he put he gave me the share version and it's faster and you don't have enough of a chance to don't get that to connect with the audio. There's not as much of A journey
and. That's. Not loved it, but if it was the Mark Home version it would have been would have been better. It would have been unreal. I love that. What a tune for. She's played in Magaluf before. Yeah, I've. Done 3/4 shows this year. Was yeah. 444 shows this year in the same club, so it was like a bit of a residency we had. And we actually finally, you say the one that I was me and Shaw might over we went in the Coyote bar Magaluf. Did you the East End of me? That's where we go.
That's one, even though the name would you use too far gone by. When you're doing a set, would you consume a mineral, if you know what I mean? Alcohol. Liquor. Should you say oh, I of? Course should they? I and we always get off. You have a wee beer or two before you go on and then. Don't ever, don't ever RIP back out of it because there's like a show, some shoes you're going to do and there's like you want to
remember. It as well you need to remember as well you're like it's your reputation as well you're working on me. We always leave it until after like to go proper happy on the drink but you're. Doing a set of 11, what time are you starting properly drinking it? Probably. Probably about that time I. Well, like the sack comes on, say, say for you're playing half Aladdin, you'll maybe go down to the venue like half at night and then maybe have a beer or two.
And some shows going on tall. But then you go on the vague As soon as you start a set, that's you. You're on your way. It'd be more the bigger ones. We'll know what's going to be a big show or we know what's going to be like a solo show. But if we're going and doing something, we'll know. We'll just keep ourselves sweet. And the next. Day and come home and just don't go on it. But like, if it's something to celebrate about, well, like, you know what I mean?
What's the like? I would say like Magaluf, Ibiza, all those kind of places where people go on holidays. Words like the best scene Ibiza in European. Beef. I would say like just that, the vibe of the place in just the atmosphere in general. There's just something about when you're out in Ibiza. You ever been No Beaver? No, I would like about. Too. It's just. And I think I'm too, like we're a Magaluf. I was like, we enjoy the part, like we are all too old for
this. Where's Ibiza? Seems. I feel like Magaluf staff feel that younger, but yes, it's a younger crowd. Yes, where's? Ibiza seems like more laid back like. And there's different parts to be, if you can go to the clubby part or you can go to the old time yet where? Cafe Delmar. Date. Yes. That looks like that would be my thing. Like cats up to, say, Cafe Mamboy, Yeah. To the watch, the sun rises, sun go down, sunset. I think it's Cafe Mambo. I think there's a sort.
Well, depends. If you're still on it, you want sun. I think what I like to do is watch the sun come up, but I'm just I get up to do that. Do you mean like I'm not? You're not I. Don't want to have been out. I'll get up for that. Yeah. Starting the day, Yeah, it's. A good way to start a day. Like I always find it just staying awake but watching it. Stay on.
What time, what time we get up if you're if you're on a little after 9. Sometimes we've been changing the beef like we even we went there beef on the Tuesday and I would then go to bed Friday, but you know. What I mean but no. He hasn't been. He hasn't been. He hasn't. Been but no. What a spot, something in the air whenever you get over there, but without a gig on that as well this year and it was great. Maltese good, really good, really good back next year as well, so.
Are are people? So sometimes when I go away to do gigs said like I did Dubai, there was a percentage people that were there to come see me and then a lot of people who were just there because they want to come and see comedy. Yeah. So say you do a gig and Malta, are there a lot of people who are coming to see use as well as just people who are just there for the music? That if that makes sense. Yeah, well.
Every more like it's like a it was Auk brand, the festival, the from the Gaga Malta. So there's a lot of people from the UK travel. So it wasn't like an international crowd. It was actually still more of the UK. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, but yeah that that does happen like do you know what I mean? You get people just going like for example, Korean fields. There's obviously going to be people coming for us and just for the music, so.
What's the mental thing you've seen while while you're on stage? While we're on stage. Like, do you ever look like in a crowd and go? It's a bit mad, I don't know. It's hard on that. There's a guy it's not it's not mad but it's annoying. Every time we play a face on me this guy shows up by whistle mate. I like ruins like don't get me wrong he's big fan also. Hope you don't see it. So he's a legend but the whistle mate? We love you, we love you. But.
Not whistle. For another SO he's someone a lot to the shows a lot it's. Just like you're playing a new tune in the next team, you're like, holy fuck, he's back again. And. Then I'm starting an ankle. There he is. Does he love it? Yes. He's like. Large brand new one with me this week. Big 6 century won this one, honestly. And then there's a guy brings a fucking blow up palm tree everywhere when he's laughing. But that's mad, you know? It's mad.
It's dedication. Yeah, bringing a blow up palm tree. He's done this for like. I'd hate it at the whistle. I'd hate. It at the start I was like, it's he's mad. He's got a guy for about. Five years religiously like. He's got same tree page. Same 1 I think. It's actually got a Facebook page in the palm tree Greenfields. It's a Greenfields palm tree. And then he brings it everywhere. Yeah. Mad you just turn around. There it is. There's a palm tree.
What umm what's 1 like festival or or steady you want to go to your like that? Would that would be the shit? Like away from here? Would love to do it. Like obviously we've got a good fan base up here in the North, but I'd love to do like a lot more down show, like longitude and stuff. Yeah, playing a lot more festivals down there. The only one I've done, the electric picnic. So actually, was this that weekend? Brilliant. It just passed. I didn't do it this year but
it's unreal looks. Amazing and go go on outside like UK, Ireland, like the scene in Australia. I mean, it looks amazing and we feel like once we get there and sort of do our. Just like home, but it's warm. Yeah, that's what it's like, our shine to feel like it's just perfect for there and like that's getting really. Popular and yeah, it seems to be the our science pushing and growing over our It'll be good to do a tour or something down the lane. Yeah, from the lakes of America
as well. Yeah, they could be doing that very soon. I all I almost just think America wouldn't be into that kind of music, but they love it. They. Actually do mean and it's that's another place where it's getting more and more popular as well. So yeah, definitely. Or DJ's like as as a group? Do you find older DJ's welcome? Is it the sort of community where? The value question. Older, older ones, it's like been in the scene like 20 years, 30 years. You've actually got a lot of.
Them as well mate. Here we. Majority of our counts. We play at a festival mate. We play at a festival mate, right? And get off that fence. We play at a festival mate in Wales, right? And there's this guy and you would probably know his name, Tom Jones. That was no. Oh, so he's an old school DJ,
right? And we play at a festival and we were just kneeling down like before we went up like just getting already getting the bag all right behind the backs needing down and he's going to snow like fine. Look at Damon's not broken back and all what's wrong with your back? You don't need the need learn or who do you think they are? We weren't getting on as if like, Oh, we're going to turn up here, stand up and everyone's
going to go mad. We were literally just getting ready to go and like eat proper, like there was an MC all of them as well, and he was pointing MC going. I want to put them to each. It's not about them to and then. What's your accent did he have? That's all you're getting. But that's about to go back on saying like the older ones what we're talking about, they've been around a long time and it's like an eagle thing with them. And like I call them because
they're constantly. Us I know like. Because we're two files just breaking through, two young lads happy as Larry going to their own hanging. Like they've had that stigma around the whole thing and they got just breaking the mould and free. You know what I mean? I still. Go back to that story as well. He shoot your man's hand. They only have 4 figures. McDonald. There's Paddy McDonald, everybody.
Fucks shaking me don't say about the fingers don't say about the fingers you make fucks shake that's. What happened with your comp but? You put in Google DJ with four fingers. Same scratching. He's better than your cousin anyway. I mean, I had to get the four figures. I find out very hard to understand because if you if you love like what you do, surely
you want other. People exactly that's true and that's the way we always have got some people like even younger and us like we we try and help everyone you know what I mean like stand. Up used to be like I when I definitely, back when I started and for a good while, older comedians or more experienced comedians, you didn't feel that
welcome. You feel like you had to do a certain amount of gigs or be a headliner to sort of even nearly have conversations with them or for them to talk to you even like you're a comedian. Yeah. Because at the start you would just be spoken to like you're
just a kid or just anyone. And you know, if I feel like then when people my age started to do well and everyone saw what we were like when you comedians then more experienced acts, if if they'd come over or whatever started to be nice, sort of, I feel like, no, yeah, they're not all like, it's really what. The DGNC they're not like don't get me wrong, there's some older people in the scene that are obsolete.
Legend. People have to a lot of people will help you meet a lot of people be are for you but like. You just get an. Energy off someone, you're sitting in a room, you know, go on. He's just being a but I know. It's even worse as well when you've listened to the person like like coming up and like think that their music scoot and stuff and then you meet them and you're like, there you go. Know what I mean? You're like me, don't even. Think as well, people can get jealous. Of yes.
Someone like maybe my age and younger when we have been able to use social media at our advantage, there's almost a feeling of like football, I. Didn't I? Didn't. That's an opportunity. Yeah, it's not our. Fault. That's a good. That's a. Really. Good. Point, you know, I've never fought it, but that way you know what I mean? Like obviously. Like the feel like they're what's the word I'm looking for?
They're not like they've been. But at the end of the day, it all came at the same time, so they've still got the same opportunity as everyone else right now. Yeah, to. See it as that's what we're looking for to see themselves as the advantage were. Yeah, just do what we do. Anyway, we've still got a phone. Yeah. Yeah, just because you're a bit older doesn't mean you can't learn. We all had to learn still, no matter what age were. Hard to use your phone with four fingers.
It's a team trying to get slap it. Up mate, I'll see you mate. I hope I never see a guy game really heavy rage in the whole day like. Fast as you know it is what I know what I know, yes or no. Yeah, actually would though. Like just because you're you're a nail that four fingers. No, you will. You will tell that. Right, I love I Yeah, I'm only into the sound of DJs with missing fingers and some music I like. I go sounds like he. Made that song. Put your middle.
Finger put your hands up for a Troid. I love. Yeah, I probably love that ear like that. When I was going out, the dance music, it was big. Do you know it was a great song. PPK Resurrection. Do you know that's? Mad, yeah, we actually made track we made recently actually has a similar vibe to it, yeah. Would you ever use me for any? Acapella stuff 100% mate we need you. Have you got music Management? Give me a song. Couple of times. Do you? Ever see the guy that does that but fish?
I think he gets requests and like people say, voice. Watch this. Tell me what this is. Pretty. Big. Is that good? Good precaution there, Paul. What's next? No limits. No limits. I used to be unbelievable at the scout man. I'm the scout man. Yeah, but then doing all that right now if I do this. Right, go by go. If I do this right, don't like. Like, be serious, right? I guess then like don't offer, it's going to be hard. Like I was actually trying to
hold at the gallery. Everyone starts one way the others to check out my message for you. As a matter of fact well enough holds you back to the scamming and do it so can you. Everyone's asking about professor as well as I'm the scam. Man, I thought you were all about like that. Scam man was unreal you. Only have one song. I'll. Tell you the rest Not as they're not. Is that the that's obviously the
biggest one in that like. Yeah, one call calling up in Scott Man's world, calling up in Scat Man, calling up in Scat Man's world. But there was a guy in my youth club it. Was everywhere. Back catalogue. It was a guy in my youth club used to think it was, don't know, I remember probably we're talking 95. We're going to use Club Trip, the Bangers Rumours, and it was a guy at the back of the boss singing, calling up in Scotland, calling up in Scotland's world.
So for years I thought it was Scotland world and then but a Scotman, like I was fucking wrong. But we just went with him because we're like, he knows it, you know? That's a tune. Like it is, he only died this year. He was old when he was. When that came out, he was old, the Scotman. Right. And that was like his only hit. Yeah, Scott mom was the was the big one in brackets it actually. Is. Right, we'll go back and remix it mate and send it over to Honest. I don't.
Think anyone's remix? I know that's what I could be. Your walk the guy. I don't. Cover of that of the single is brilliant. It's like a face a bit distorted and there's all this like light inside. I had that. I had that single. I fucking love the Scout, man. It felt like there was a summer in like 1995 where there was a heat wave and the weather was like unbelievable start of
summer to the end. And in my head, that's when all those good songs came out because I would remember being in my granny's garden and there was always someone playing because all the gardens. Met if I made sense all the guard like because it was all terrorist toys and that went like in a square the back everyone's house and somebody was always playing something that and two can play that game by Bobby Brown. Always that cool. To complain that game girlfriend because I used to.
Me and my dad used to go to Tenerife and on the beach they used to pump out music and all those songs. Space Carboy Jamiroquai. Yes, great. Go sing that one. I do know that the space. Gamble, yes, I think. About something else. Have to like please do please. Do this and I was singing something. Remix this scam man. I know we'll we'll just shake. Do you have walk with music? Like do you have a bit of music and all when? You definitely, definitely. What about Bam Bam? Bam. People.
You did Eye of the Tiger there. Did you mean that? You might shut up fucking. Bam bam bam this is easy. I'm pioneer food shit, I mean. There's one there. What else? What else? Mashup Mash YouTube. I'm trying to remember more niche old school songs. Son of a gun. Yes, son. Of a gun JX son of a gun. We. Could make out into something. Yes, I love the way you said we like. You're almost involved now for the drop. Blow my whistle, DJ Quicksilver. What's been the gig crew that
you've went right? Fuck me. Isn't it things are changing? All in that kind of way the. First time point moment like a turning point. Mandela hole, selling it Mandela hole because all my mates, everyone thought it was mental too big then you. Took a rescan. Oh. The reward was even. Better. I don't know what you mean. And I was doing that, you know, every time it went up, there was always, and it wasn't like other comedians being like slobber. And it was more just like out of
concern. They were like, you don't want to be. That doesn't sell. Because it was like that with Mandela. Then Ulster Hall was the next one. Everybody's like, Are you sure? And I wasn't like. That you're doing the SSE. I wasn't scared to give it a go. Yeah, class, yeah, that's unreal it. Wasn't I wasn't scared to give it a go at all, kind of just. Worked out it's all but that one risk you take at the start.
It's like we're actually. Doing a show like we were like we need to get our headline show once we've done our headline show in Belfast as well, sold it out like a change of things, but you have to take that risk. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. And it's scary at the start. Fucking show yourself and. You'd rather take a risk when it doesn't work then go and never took it. I know, I know. Just saying you only shoot the you only. You don't miss the shots that you miss.
He just he started out and he made it. That was a really good inspirational code. Did he read it there for you? Like what? What we? Shape What shows have you got coming up? Like what's? What's the next big? Yes, over here. Over here we've got big one, we're doing an open the close in the Telegraph, we've only done what is an open and open the close means like there's no lineup, so we're doing the whole nights from start to finish. 5. Hours.
Five hours of just symmetric were done at what time? January last. Name and a half, too, yeah. But last one last. One, I better be more than the afternoon. See, before we've done the last one, we were like, this is going to be a lot because we and him literally jump. If you've seen our videos, all we jump up and down for an hour straight to where the kind of fucking gold is for five hours. But we've got the end of five hours and I could do yes for an hour 5.
With the boys, bring a considerably foam roller where people can't see it. We do make sure I got to sleep here for five, but no, mate, I suppose they get stuffed because the whole Nate's building up and you're building the whole Nate as well because you're starting from an empty room and then you're seeing people coming in and then like people's coming in at the start with your merchandise and in next taking
the whole. Room Taking the room on a. Journey and then you're building the music up. Do you know what I mean? So it's just a class to. Do the scout man. And they come and do it live singing and then just crack a wee joke at the end and split. To go buy tickets for the SSA Arena 9th and 15th of November. No, no way Income. No. I used to lose. You don't mean no other impression of footballer? Like ah, yes. Glen Torn, Shane. It was years ago. Yes, it. May have you.
Come in and Robert is Mervyn. That's about. I remember that was a. League. We still like to be pulled up Ariana again just to watch. Yeah fuck me. Hilarious. Love it. I forgot about that. Maybe I should re edit. See that's when I started doing started lockdown re editing all videos. I'm putting subtitles on, maybe cutting the length down and that's why you're saying about you just started working hard at the start of that. Like me too.
Like that was a time where people either just stopped or really went for it. Exactly, exactly. I hope everyone thought the world was in fuck sake, you know what I mean? But we were just, we were not. We were just dinner and we but we'll just make a music and like we were and actually also be a bit more, feel a bit more comfortable as well on the scene because we were like trying to make music and weren't really getting that many gigs.
So no one was getting any gigs. Telegraph is like like a whole no of dance here, yeah. Big time. We've done a lot of venues in the UK. I mean, like, obviously it's called the Tone, but like even if you place that venue anywhere, yeah, I would still have the same effect. I think it's something about it, man. It's just a whole, the whole look of it as well. And high underground it looks like it's an old printing office. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah.
It's almost like print marks in London. Not to that extent, but it's like that sort. Of character about it because it's an old printing office, you know, So it's like anywhere like out with a bit of character I think with the music that we make. And the Belfast credit as well. Just all comes in the one of the stars. Yeah, special like. We just bring any guess it or anything like that. What do you have couple couple of things planned? I'm going. To bring a scalp money.
Forefinger, DJ. He's not becoming like he got battered. Anyone there? Will be a whistle. On the path. You get like last thing you get like I assume DJ's musician don't don't get like hit online or anything like that. You would like you would and again like you get people like just. But in what way I can understand someone being like, you're not that's not funny talking to a comedian. It's it's what? What? In what way would?
They seem to be whenever like you get, that poster goes viral. So your viral post goes under the eyes of people who aren't into what you do. You know what I mean? So they're the ones who's going to come out with a hit. That you get people to steal. Your haircuts are like. Your two fruits are like, never change their shit. They're like. Just I know it's. Going to stop coming? Go ahead. That was. Anymore.
Start crying. More. And there's, I feel like a great thing with the dance music scene is it's very cross community. Yes. And there's no, you don't even think about it like like even like you play and feel like maybe 1520 years ago even maybe that don't happen. I know. I know generally you're right and I've seen like I've seen rappers, a couple of guys did like something that a bonfire recently and one guy from a Ranger top Celtic tub yes, So it feels like music is helping the bridge.
It does, but it's. Supposed to have the bring people together. Definitely does and just even at the feeling like you see people from the other shake travel in order to go and watch it, you know as well and like even not as a like as a person probably wouldn't the one would have felt tough. Which get people from everywhere even doing stand up or see and. Oh, yeah. I don't feel in some part like last four years or something, whether it's my own show or jumping on someone else's.
And someone will ask the crowd near the start of the night. You know, who's from here. He's not. Wherever you travel from. Yeah. And people are coming from all over. And see the end of the day, people go on the watch, like stand up or OK, they're all going to have a good time at the end of the day. Yeah, doesn't. Come into it, Yeah, and you can talk about any. You don't need that. Doesn't need to be about that. You know what I mean it. Doesn't know.
And if someone was brought up, if someone was very like from a very nationalist background or very loyalist back, they don't have to hide it at those games. Like I think in the space of a month I did Mona social club, the PD, the Raleighs, all all these small like social members type clubs around Belfast and all the gigs were unreal. And they put it on the same set at them all. And there can be a thing of people being like, oh, you have to watch yourself there.
Are what they're saying. Those are the ones where you can have a laugh at them more than anywhere. You know, you may think it's a feeler or, you know, you can't. You can't talk badly on this or that. They will be sensible. They they want it to do. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's at Boston for a place here. Stop us here, we said. We're good, We're good. So we'll put the we'll put the link, we'll put the link to that to the your Belfast show in the
description of the episode. We'll finish this off. Yeah, You go. You you should go solo. You should go solo. You saying you have a shit haircut is. That what he was saying my name wasn't. He yeah, yeah, yeah. He went like it when he was thought when he was saying it. I knew he was going to get it to easy walks it right. Let me start telling all secrets here. Yes, yes, yes. Me and you want to get my phone? Me and you. Me and you once.
Because here's the thing. If the if the technology cuts a matter. That's it. Still got a scat, man. How do you say I'm a scout man? Scout man, Scout man. I'm the scat Man scout, man scout scout. Yeah, yeah. Scout man, so. Listen this. Scat and. Then I just do. I just do this by itself. You're off, right? Go again.
