Welcome to Tea Party Media, I am Martin Lindiscog. Today I will talk about new podcast apps applications and I will do a quick review view of 15 different application and apps for podcasting and podcasters and podcast listeners especially that's linked to this value for value model. That's one of the namespace tags in the RSS feed to extend to enhance and protect the RSS feed.
And I will also talk about in a future episodes of the big players out there like Apple, Podcasts, Spotify and Google and others and comment on the situation today's situation and what could happen in the future. So go to new podcastappscom and check out a new podcast app. So I'll take a sip of tea here. Cheers. Today I'm drinking PD tips in a tea bag and have some brown sugar, muscavado sugar in the cup here to get going.
And I have a notebook that I will read from so bear with me if sound looking and talking at the same time. And I have a note card from a model 19 1727 like a message note card with the 15 applications name here so I could remember them. So I've got to rattle through them here first.
It's breeze Fountain Customatic Hypercatcher Pod Verse podcast guru player Pod Vizzy Ivy anytime player curecaster Pod friend pocket casts Albi and Kon Shacks So I'll start out here with Breeze that I found on my iPhone sixs plus. That was the first one that I think I downloaded. And they take about, like, 179 Megabyte Storage. And I have an old phone, as you know. So I'm looking at how it will keep up with the space here. And also I'm doing this test flights, I'm testing new features and so on.
So I mean that program and back in the day it was I haven't used it so much but for now that you could use it. In this transferring bitcoin to different places and get ad topping up your wallet and moving it from one place to another is convenient and it could be also safe and to have it there. But before it got very hot and warm when I used it as a podcast player and also refreshing all the time.
But now it seems to be working in a good way so I will use Breeze more and it's also something called like a POS terminal that you could with payment and also the different apps in the application. So to something called fold. I would be happy to start testing that out but I think it's only available in North America you get like a cash back or like a loyalty program when you pay when you get it back in bitcoin if I understand it right.
And now I scratch with my cap here and what's more in it like Geyser found it's a company that I want to look into more and reach out to them and see if I could be on the show also talking about how you could do like a crowdfunding campaign and get support and donations in Bitcoin. So the next one is now in theory with the notebook it's Fountain and that is what I have been using most up till now.
And before it took some time to do like a loading, it took time with that and also to search and so on. Now, I have cleaned up a bit with auto download, so it's not so much in the pipeline and also unfollowed some podcasts. And I will start to follow again back when I see that app is working quicker as before. And I have around 19,000 stats on it and I'm also on the test flight and it takes how much is it space right now? It was like a couple of gigabytes.
So that's one thing that I want to decrease and I think it's like one now or something like that but it's still one of the applications that take most space on my phone. What they have done now new things is like activity feed. It's obvious thing to checking out what's new, what's going on, people are commenting on different episodes, doing clips, giving sets on the comments and so on.
And then you have the discovery new Lightning podcasts listing and what more the categories could be interesting to explore more. I have several categories there and then you have the wallet, you click on the wallet with the Lightning symbol and I have earned there and also latest days every week like about 1000 satouches and also about the same that I have supported. So I earned about the same that I supported for now. I haven't been so active with this app now but I will start using it again.
And there you have rewards, you have streams, you have promotions, referrals boost and like so it's lots of things going on there now I could check on the income tab there and shout out and thanks to Chad F user profile on Spotify. I said now on fountain shad f. And then I also saw Tea Party media house.
So thanks for that supporting this podcast and I saw some mere mortals supporting streaming by listening with Cyclophoxol and also making boost to Gram and Digital Telegram and a comment with the latest episode about Liberal Ellis. And I have like four I'm following 40 and 151 followers and I have made and created 28 clips. And then you see this as I said again, hot on Fountain and you could see the Bowler Boosts and that on the Podcasting 2.0 show.
I think if it's like 100,000 or 200,000 they call it a Bowler Boost and have a special sound effect for that. I don't know if it's bowling or what's the name is coming from the word but I thought it started on a fountain at 10,000 Satushes and that's how much is that? We check is it like is it $2 or something like that. I will include Currency World in the show notes and then you could check what's the Bitcoin level there and the price for Bitcoin on a daily basis if you want.
So I will take another CPT here. See here, this could take some time, it's almost ten minutes here, nine minutes and then Customatic and where it's saying that I have sufficient funds, not enough funds, so I have to top it up. And this is the thing, if you have several apps and you want to use then you have to have funds on different places and could you have a central place that you could go? Maybe that's the brief thing to do.
And I will talk with the others here at vendor also and what they have is a neat feature called a leveler of auto and boost like auto fix. So depending on the volume, if you talk like me pretty low on the same level, you could boost that. And also if you are doing it like this, like the gap pause. So there we have this gap separate. So it's so called saving you time and taking that pause and silence.
And that seems to be similar to Overcast features that I will talk about that in another episode. Premium wear on Overcast and has that Marko that feature about boosting your sound level and also speeding up your voice in like two up to two times the speed. But still it's sounds that you could listen to it and cast a magic is taking like 1718 megabits of space and more. What more there is hypercatcher.
They have some interesting things that you could listen to newsletters and get like an email from them and then subscribe to newsletters and listen to it. So I will check that out. The version is 2.228 and it seems to be one year ago and the app developer where I think he is blogging theirs in 2021 or maybe a bit later but I haven't seen any updates lately. So that's the status of that app if it's still active or what's going on. Another sip of tea here. Cheers.
And then we come to my new favorite Pod verse and I will publish the next episode will be a conversation with Mitch D. Downey of podverse. So the live item tag so when it's going live you get a notification in the app. So when you could start listening when we're doing the live streaming and send boostograms in real time, commenting on the content there and the conversations and I have a membership there like a premium.
So I think it's 100 or 200 Swedish crowns per month, not per month, per year. And Mitch is commenting on that, talking about that in the conversation that we have there. You have Fountain, they have also premium. I am paying like I think it's 30 Swedish crowns per month in order to support their work and development and so on. And I'm also in this test flight program and it takes about right now, 17.6 megabytes.
I like how to say the UX and the interface and how now you could stream sets and doing boost the grams and having this lit and live item tag so you could listen to podcast when you are going live. So more of that when you listen to our conversation and then I will do a follow up also with generally with podcasting apps or podcast in English. I've only listened and start listening. So then you could start creating new patterns with different things.
So if you have any input on that, how you listen to podcast, what kind of features do you like and et cetera and so on. Because this is now with Live, for example, that you listen not only when you have time or when you're doing errands or doing other things. Now you want to be in interactions, so to speak, and it's going live in real time and being in terms of conversation and be like a coup producer.
So that's an interesting how and I've done another episode of that like a hybrid of fusion of radio and podcasting how it's going into one in you could say and then we come to podcast guru. I like that very much because it's very clean, it's UX, it's loading fast, what I could see.
And they have this integration with Pod Chaser so you could have in app reviews and also they have podcast index that you could search for podcast with search and discovery on region so you could pick a different country where that could be interesting. And I will upgrade to become a very important person, so to speak, VIP user and that's 169 Swedish crowns per year. And they have also this Podping notification so that's one of the great namespace tags but
instead who said that? Think about Apple Podcast with all the servers, if they have to check 4 million Podcasts out there and maybe like 500,000 active and they say they have like 2.5 million or whatever. 3 million, maybe, if I have to. Check the episodes or the podcast every time like every minute or every hour or whenever or how many times per day if they are active instead of using this Pod Ping how that could save time and energy and whatnot?
So that's something to think about that Pod Ping and then play a Pod. It's very interesting, I like the design of it. It's like this old cassette player. I remember was it the Pesh mode that had it on stage like this tape that was running. So they have podcasts and news. You could search for news podcasts and mainstream media outlets having their own podcasts so that could be interesting. And also audio and video, they have sections for that.
And you could do BOOKMARKS also with pauses or something that you want to remember in the tape. And it takes about 24 megabytes. And I like, again, as I said, the slogan. Where the high fee, high fidelity audio so going on here. We have this and they mostly active on the web, I think. Nick Fair I want to have them on the show. Also. First when I did the app where it was rolling and scrolling and then it worked, but he talked about that.
He has this studio that you could do chapters, images, adding images. You can have shareable links into the app when you're listening and also buying things. So it's all about there when visual things to add images to chapters, different sections of your episode, generating show notes and so on. So this studio I will come back to and see if I have already an account there or creating one and then talk to Nick and then it's Ivy Search and they're also on the web protector there.
So you could search for different keywords topics, podcast names, et cetera, and you could look up guests, different podcasts, as I said, topics and tags, keywords, keywords. And it takes like 27.9 megabyte and again, it's mainly on the website there. And here is a tip to Dave Jones that said when I did a screenshot of my new apps, I wonder if I have somebody that app I should add or something I missed. And then he recommended me. Anytime, player.
So it's made by developer called Ben Hills and it takes right now 40.4 megabytes and it was updated four months ago and it seems to be a very clean interface and easy to use app and then I will do some honorable mentions, you could say and that's starting out with Curecasters that's on the web, I know mainly I don't think I have an app yet and they have also this lit live item tag when you are going live and also the Sickler Fox we became featured because I sent a small donation and
boost to grab to them. So he thanks for that and adding us to that. What I have a commentary is that this dark mode or dark background black and on text on white could be a bit maybe hard to accessibility and see that maybe if you could switch that or you could have a mode with white background and black text or dark text could be good. And as I said again, the web is the main thing there. And I think they have something.
Is it audio or audiobooks or they have something more than podcast or ebooks. I don't know, but they have a different category or search thing. They're also on Curecaster, so I will come back to that again. And then the namesake or numene, as you say in swedish Martin in Denmark, Pod friend and I think he's working on something here. I don't think he has updated player for some time but he says in the Master Dan group there on Podcast Index social that he's working on things there.
So that's something to check out. Also Pod friendliest podcast players that slogan is and then pocket Casts and it's owned by Matt Millennbags Automatic and they say that they are for this open transparent RSS feed and want to protect RSS. So that will be interesting to see how that could play out in the future. And it takes like 67.3 megabytes space there. I heard back in midday it was very popular by users and it's still around.
And now we also have this Pocket Cast plus so you could have more features there and then Get Lb.com and that's more it's not a podcast play but with Albi they have done it very convenient how you could top up your wallet with Satoshi so you could then send donations and support to fellow podcasters. And they have also a dashboard that you could see the donations, the boost, the grams and how you are streaming Satoshi's to podcasters and it's value for value and name tag.
So they have done a great work on that. And you also have your own, you could say, profile page when users could send you support and donations similar to like paypalme site for example, page. But I have PayPal. Melindascog when you have your username, I have Lyseum on Getalby, so it's Getalby.com is it P? I think it is there. You could then send Satoshi directly to my wallet there so you have it. And the last one is Konshak and it's similar to this Get LB Saturn dashboard that they have.
And I've been talking with him on Twitter and getting the help to do this split for like Mitch. I want to send him split to divide it. So every Satoshi is every support or stream booster. I'm coming to that episode, I want to give him 50% of it or half of it, what I get. But he has this Get ALB address, lightning address. So I have to figure out how to get him into the split.
Because when I started and hooked up my podcast up to this value for value model, I used first something called Stream Satoshi or Satushi Stream. And I had to go through like a Telegram group and adding something code, et cetera. And then Fountain came up about entering the scene. So I shifted my hook up, you could say, or being doing this Lightning thing that's now in Fountain. So that's the question. How you do when you add to a split.
I think it will be easier in the future, but right now you have to do certain steps and getting around to get to it, but it will work out in the near future. So again, that's for now. I've been bubbling now doing a short review of what I'm having on my phone and also what I'm using on the web.
And what are you using, which app do you use or do you use several apps, new podcast apps and again, your thoughts and comments on about the big players, where even news have happened recently with Google doing things, changing things, mixing things up. And then you wonder what Spotify is doing with the RSS and then Apple podcasters, what's going on there? And then also other apps that I'm using, as I said, like over cost.
I know that Marcos is part of a Podcasting 2.0 initiative, so that's great to see. So with that about almost here now, in a half an hour, 25 minutes, I think I will end with another sip of tea and then say cheerio to you guys. Cheers. Thanks for listening. And as I said, after I published this episode, my conversation, my interview, my talk with Mitch Townie of podverse will be published during the weekend if everything goes according to plan.
So again, thanks for listening and check out new podcast apps and start using some and then test out the Boost Gram feature streaming status to Teapot, the Media podcast. Thanks again. Cheers. Bye for now.
