¶ Welcome to Eclipse Season
Welcome to Tarot for the Wild. That explores the Soul centered, trauma informed perspective. For growth, healing and I'm your host, Lindsay Mack. Hello, hello, hello, sweet ones. Lindsay here. Welcome back to Tarot of the Wild Soul Podcast. It's so good to be here with all of you. Happy eclipse season, happy year of the fire horse, happy Pisces season as of today. Just sending so many layers of blessings and warmth and care to all of you.
And peace and ease and I'm thinking so much of those words right now because it has been just decidedly in many ways not worth getting into. One of the most one of the least peaceful least easeful seasons in my house. Um and strange and unexpected and liminal and lonely and just hard. And
I'm hoping that it's been a little bit more gentle with you or for you, but honestly, with all the people that I'm speaking to, I'm guessing it probably hasn't been. So here's to hoping that It will be as gentle of a season as humanly possible in the coming weeks.
¶ Navigating the Eclipse Portal
Yeah, so so much to say. This is an intuitively channeled reading on this eclipse portal. that we're in any time. You know, eclipse eclipses come in pairs. They come in twos. And yesterday, and apologies, this is a day late. Yesterday on February 17th, um, we had an incredibly potent. Solar eclipse, new moon solar eclipse in Aquarius. Incredibly intense. Incredibly intense.
Um, and that really happened a couple of days before the eclipse, but that really formally kicks us off into eclipse season. or what we might you may have heard referred to as an eclipse portal. And we're going to be in that quote portal until March 3rd, which is the full moon lunar eclipse in Virgo. Um and this time, this sort of axis of Aquarius and Virgo and in these next few weeks.
We're going to be invited to work with eclipse season in what I just personally and humbly believe, and I certainly know I'm not alone in this take, um, is the most graceful way to work with an eclipse season. Which is to really practice surrender, to really open your eyes, open your attention, open your heart, and let let the eclipses show you what's ready to be seen. Um, I believe in the power of like magic and like we we should use magic as an active tool and a tool of free will and
you know, ask for what we want and call in what we'd like. And eclipse season is really not a very good time to do that because eclipse season is a time where we're really invited to pay attention. to what the universe and what the eclipses want to reveal to us rather than the other way around. So again, it's not just me, but I do agree. And I apologize for clearing my throat. We're all getting over flu A and a number of other
um just wild complications in terms of illness and I still don't sound great. So apologies for that. Um but yeah, there there's just so much to be said for it. But With regard to like uh in my personal opinion, this is my personal opinion and my own take, is that
¶ Eclipses as Judgment Card Energy
I think that the closest tarot cousin that we have to Eclipse energy is judgment. And that's because judgment is ruled by Pluto. the judgment card is connected to Pluto. And I th the reason that I that much Pluto and judgment isn't opinion based, it's sort of what is. But the reason that I think judgment is a very, very good energy to work with as it pertains to any eclipse season is because Pluto is an excavator.
Pluto reveals, it unearths, it unburies, it lays bare something that's been under the surface for a really long time. We're called in eclipse season to really pay attention to it because the Paradoxically, even though we're being we're not really being invited to work so much within the confines of like Our free will, what we want, we're we're being called to far more prevalently open, notice, pay attention.
and be led and be guided, working within the the kind of flow of time of the eclipse is showing us what they want to show us rather than us going and digging under the soil where we want to dig. Judgment works much the same way. It it comes to us in a moment where like we're ready to see something. The veil is ready to be lifted in some way. And that's always what happens during eclipse season.
And with eclipses, again, that paradoxical piece I was just speaking to, that even though we're not kind of being invited to stay away from sort of magic work and crafting work, um We actually have the ability to move the needle on things in a much faster way than we normally would because of the potency of the eclipses. So if we've been stuck, if we've been caught. The eclipses will help to kind of shake loose any like compacted
you know, um impacted areas. And once it's loose and free, then we can go from there and say, okay, great. This is really intense. But now that I see it. I'm gonna take action, you know, or I'm gonna pause with it, or I'm gonna feel these feelings, whatever it is. So whatever shows up for you, you know, you can work with it as as feels right and as but but it's incredibly
potent period of time. Really powerful. And always kind of no matter what we're working with. I I feel personally it's a very, very Plutonian process. It just it So I have a little reading for you about this eclipse season and various ways to work with it, but I also wanted to mention that.
¶ Introducing Soul Tarot Training
Um, I'm doing something brand new that you may or may not have heard of and the doors are currently open for it. Um I am teaching I am offering something called the Soul Tarot Training, which is a 12-week practitioner training for anybody who feels really called to learn. sort of the art, craft, and practice of Sol Tarot. Um, and the training will really assist folks in being able to hold really beautiful, sensitive space.
for their clients, offering trauma-sensitive tarot readings, and um will support folks in opening to their own innate brilliant gifts as a practitioner. Um it's an extremely intimate training. Spots are super limited on purpose. Um, it's really for folks who feel who have a calling. To offer very deep work with the tarot. And if you have been really longing for a heart-led, comprehensive practitioner training to help support, bolster, and prepare you for the work.
you're longing to offer to the world, then this offering is completely perfect for you. Um the Soul Terror training is 12 weeks long. It runs from March 3rd to May 18th. Um, each of our weekly modules are taught live. They're um conducted over Zoom on Mondays from 1 to 3 p.m. Pacific Standard Time and are, you know, taught and facilitated completely by me. And there are also a couple of bonus live practicums. There are some bonus classes if you join.
you get to take part in all of that. If you can't make a live call, um, that's okay because they're all recorded and transcribed for you. Um There is also a private community connection space for only students of the training to get to connect commune. befriend one another, support one another. Um, it really is an extraordinary journey. And you get to like the first four weeks are really focused on
bolstering you, the practitioner, who are you? What kind of gifts and skills do you have? How can you support your body in doing readings for people? Cause it can be really intense to do it. Um re in repetition, it it can be very tiring, et cetera. So like how do we support ourselves in that way? And then we really get into the nuts and bolts for the remaining eight weeks, like sensing into the song of a reading, giving the reading your client is meant to receive.
How to handle it when your client has really high expectations of you, like out of the gate, and you're like, I could never give this to you. Um, how to handle it when the client is like, Ugh, I've been stuck for a while and you know, they're coming in already frustrated, um, how to handle it when a reading takes like a wild turn, how to handle it if a client is in a really tough spot.
Um, how to hold space for completions, for life-death, rebirth seasons, how to hold space for really busy times. There's just so, so, so much. good stuff packed into this training. And um if you feel called to join us, I would love to have you. It is application only. And um we turn around our applications pretty quickly. Um, so please, if you feel called to this, if anyone you know feels called to it, it would be such a joy to be in space with you.
And um the last day to apply is Friday, February 27th. So there's still a little more time, but please go for it. And again, it would be an absolute joy to get to connect with any and all of you who want to uh join me in that space.
¶ Eclipse Reading: Temperance & The Devil
And so now we're going to dive into our eclipse reading. So again, anytime we work with a sense of eclipse, right? We're we're we're in Pluto's realm, which puts us in the realm of judgment, right? The judgment card. So I asked What I asked for a card and by the way, this is I feel like really exciting. This is the first Um, channeled reading that I've done with my own Soltero deck. Um, so that feels pretty cool.
And yeah, that feels really lovely and exciting. It's gorgeous. Um, and if you would like your own, you can pre-order that now. It'll be out on May 19th. But uh yeah, so the first question I asked was just like a card for this Eclipse portal. And I I specifically asked you know, to give us a really good idea about what's gonna be touched on in these eclipses, like the the themes, what you know.
What area are we going to? What are we journeying around and into? And I got not one but two cards. So our cards for this eclipse portal are Temperance and the Devil. So Immediately so significant, right out of the gate. Right out of the gate. So we have two majors, two huge majors. And we have threshold majors. So I'll explain what I mean by that. Temperance is the last line, is the last card in line two of the major arcana.
And the devil card is the first card in the third line of the major arcana. So when we talk about threshold majors, which is something I just made up, but it is in my mind, totally a thing. Um, we're talking about cards that crest us out of a line and into a line, respectively, of the majors. And knowing that is really important because line two is specifically designed to create. liminality, confusion. Um, it is chrysalis like
You are moving a lot slower. Things are more foggy. Things are less certain. The the theme of the line in Sol Taro is, who am I? Right? Who am I? We don't we don't know who we are, what we're doing. What makes sense? We're meant to undo all of the work we did in line one in order to get closer to our soul truth and further away from ego. And that really just follows. Kind of the same cadence that life does. Like we
are so sure of what we know when we're young, for the most part. Not, you know, projecting onto anyone, but I know like I knew what I was talking about when I was a younger person. And then, you know, it's like you know I feel like the older I get, the less I know. So In certain ways. And in other ways, the more you know and all that. So that who am I line is that really crucial and important You know, I think that's a good idea.
chapter of work that we do to undo what we thought we knew and open to something different. And temperance is the point of emergence out of that chrysalis, out of that real um, kind of pitch dark place that we go to in line two that is really nourishing and is really medicinal, but also is quite challenging as well. So that we can paradoxically be a little freer. And temperance is in in and of itself kind of a confusing and strange card. It's not super easy to get or to understand.
Temperance is and often can be experienced as really being pulled, really being challenged. to have a deeper relationship with our guides and a deeper relationship with spirit, to ask for more help, both from our guides and from other people. It's ruled by Jupiter. It's a card of adventure in some ways. It's kind of like
taking the longest path to wind up at your destination. It focuses very much on the adventure rather than the final destination, like what you're learning, who you're meeting on the way. Um, and really decenters like, oh, we gotta get there, we gotta be perfect. Um, but temperance is it it's also a moment where we're called to really think about like, God, am I in alignment here? Am I balanced? Am I coming from a place which, you know, that that Am I really am I am I
pointing in one direction a little bit too much. Am I out of right? So there's there's this Really, and by the way, I want to correct myself Temperance is not ruled by Jupiter, it's ruled by Sagittarius, but it is connected to Jupiter through Sagittarius. Um, but that sense of of kind of Sagittarian, Jupiterian flow and movement and adventure and connection, there's so much of that that is present in temperance. And the fact that that is one of the cards that showed up.
in our reading for this eclipse cycle says a lot. So with temperance, you don't always know what's happening until you're out of it. And then when you're out of your work with temperance, you can kind of look back and be like, oh wow, like okay, great, great, great. Um, totally understand why I needed to like reach out in this way. Like very often it it's more of a cumulative thing that you look back on and you say, like, well wow, like all of that came together in this way.
Also, this bringing about the end to line two, the the the point of going through line two. The ends of the lines can tell us a lot about what we're doing in the line and what we're being invited to take from the line. And all this pertains to the eclipse, right? Because if we're working with the idea of line two, like who am I, what am I doing? It's slowly but surely kind of you know, decentering ego, decentering personal preference, and moving us a lot closer to soul.
And so the end of that line is temperance by being like we're stronger. and made more temperate, paradoxically, by not relying completely on ourselves and opening to community to spirit, right? Which we know, but is easy to forget, and certainly collectively easy to forget. And the idea that the devil is also in the mix. So there's a lot I could say about the relationship between temperance and the devil.
They are in relationship to each other. They're a call and response to each other. Temperance is an expander. Devil is a contractor. Devil's a response to that expansion. Um, it invites us into contraction, it invites us into like our old patterns, our old pathways. So This eclipse process is is nothing short of a soul expansion, which are words that I think get bandied about a lot, but
What are we ultimately talking about? We're talking about a process that eclipses our human moment-to-moment bullshit, our patterning, our like lower vibe, whatever it is. It's a moment where we say yes to soul. Alongside all of the human stuff that every one of us has going on. So we feel afraid, we choose to expand, and we take the fear with us. Or We feel an immense pressure to like perform or to succeed or to do something. And we we say no.
I won't do that. I will rest. Like I won't I won't push through this fear, right? Because there are times to do one and there are times to do the other. What we're talking about here, what these eclipses are doing, are really strongly calling upon us to expand our threshold of support. I really feel that here that's present even outside of these two cards in this reading.
um, to ask for help, to let the help be visible, invisible, near, distant, like to really widen that circle and that expanse and that capacity, right? community far and near to open, open, open. There's so much happening, especially with the eclipse we experienced yesterday. related to community and also to loneliness.
Right. Um, like I know I was supposed to be a part of a really beautiful community celebration and I wasn't able to do it because my poor kiddo has been so sick and dealing with complications from an illness and she's okay, but just it's it's been a really intense ride, which is also you know, opens up some other points of sadness for my partner and I cause like we don't have very close relationships with our families of origin.
There's nobody really around us to help out when things get really, really hard. We have some people and real sweet beloveds, but we don't have family. So it's like these themes of who's here, who isn't. Who do we reach out to? Who do we not? Are there any barriers? Like definitely been looking at that or uh for myself around like stories I tell myself, like I can't reach out here.
or they don't want to hear from me, or like what is the story, right? And overcoming that story or being really tender with that story. Um And for some people, this is just like glorious, gorgeous celebration and community gathering. So it it really is this
very interesting paradox between togetherness and loneliness and who is with you and who is not. And everyone's going to experience that paradox very, very differently. You know, and I was just talking about loneliness, but also I mean I'm partnered with my beloved best friend and we have a glorious child together and like
there's beautiful community around that too, right? Whereas that might be someone's big dream and the point of their loneliness. So everyone's working with what they're working with, right? But that idea of temperance is like the expanse and the expansion and the the sight of it and like radiating out of where we normally are and saying yes and asking for help and devil is that drop. Like oh I shouldn't have asked for that.
I shouldn't have said no. I shouldn't have said yes. This shouldn't have happened. I should have done it differently. Oh God. And then we expand a little bit more in temperance and then we clench shut in devil, you know, and like rigorously question those beliefs. So this ain't no, you know, Seven of Pentacles eclipse. This ain't no two of Wands eclipse. This ain't no like, oh let's like look in the you know, just like
Kind of see, like keep your eyes open. This is major, major fucking work. And going from line two to line three. from like not knowing, not seeing to understanding is gonna be a big part of this eclipse. So I I also really feel called and I'm not seeing anything like Too, too wild, but I would say, like, be really tender with yourself, be really gentle with yourself because. There's a lot in terms of like Like I'm seeing and I'm I'm hearing a little bit like hard sight.
Meaning be careful with your eyes, be careful with your ears. Um, because you may understand or realize or awaken to something that's incredibly sad or hard or painful or scary or Depressing or a bummer or heartbreaking and um It may be necessary to awaken to that or for that to come into your purview. And you can be really tender with yourself as you assimilate that. So just one moment, one step, one breath at a time.
But the the unbraiding work that's happening in this eclipse portal via these two cards, it it really can't be overstated. So just do
¶ Best Way to Work: Three of Cups
Take care as you move through it. What's the best way we can work with this eclipse season? Three of cups. I loved this answer because basically what they're saying is Yeah, while all this labor, while you know, this dilation and contraction process happens within you, within your heart and soul. Be with friends, break bread, have soup, go to the spa, sing together, like keep it simple, accessible, tangible. Three of cups is very much about
connecting with others in the way you need when you need it. So it it's not saying go off and do some idea of community gathering because of whatever, right? It's not saying, um
You know, connect with others in a way that's not accessible for you, or um, you know, go to yoga when you really want to go salsa dancing. Like, It is very much about community, kin, kinship bonding in a way that feels really good, really accessible, really nourishing, really um that feels like true sustenance to your soul for them for the moment that you find yourself in. So
getting creative too about like what that looks like for you if you're just like, well, nothing really does, you know, and and thinking about like, is it more like a support group for you right now? Is it um you know, your recovery groups, is it Um, you know, what whatever it is, right? You don't have to learn, you don't have to be so deep together. It's just really like the best way to do this time, these next few weeks are.
in as much togetherness as possible. And just as a gentle reminder, in Soltero, Three of Cups is also connecting with invisible beloved. We don't always have the kind of visible kinship that we might want or need in the moment that we need it or in the moment that we might want it. So it's about thinking about, well, who can I call upon ancestors or you know, nature spirits or deities, like i is there deeper work that I can be called to do in some way right now? Not just, you know,
trying to find a a fun group of people, but like really thinking about like, okay, is are there invisible brethren? You know, is there invisible brethren here with me? you know, our other worldly brethren. Um, but yeah, keep it keep it really accessible and as you can do it. But three of three of cups in it all the way, um, through this time is the way.
¶ Deepest Lesson: Page of Pentacles
The deepest lesson of these eclipses, Page of Pentacles. So again, this is deep shit. And it's deep in a way that is very subtle. It's not sudden. It's not shocking. Like there's no sudden shocker energies in this reading, which is really lovely. even Temperance and the Devil, which are really powerful, really strong, really far reaching, wide-reaching energies in terms of what they can do and the impact they have when they show up in a reading.
they're not, you know, they don't behave the same way as some of the other cards do that might show up and just have a very strong ripple effect in in the pond of our lives. It's just not quite that way. With these cards. And Page of Pentacles is very much a still waters run deep kind of card. So Anytime we work with pages in Soltero, we're working with the idea of compasses. And pages are our roots, they're home they're, you know, pathways back home to the self.
You know, they are invitations to drop in, to think really, you know, to go back to the root. Like who, who are you ultimately? What are you doing? What do you want to do? All of that is page related. So Page of Pentacles specifically Are really these beautiful and the idea of them being connected to compasses.
pointing us to true north, helping us to clarify like, are we on the right track? Are we Are we not even on the the kind of externally right track, but like are we following the call and the pull of our soul? as best as we can in whatever way that we can. Page of Pentacles specifically, in terms of the kind of ring of those pages. Has to do with refining and dropping a little bit more deeply into our relationship with Divine.
And our relationship to the idea that We're of service to something, yes, ourselves, absolutely. But that we're of service to something even greater than ourselves. And sometimes we can push forward and say, like, this is what I want to do, this is what I wanna focus on, totally not just valid, but beautiful.
Page of Pentacles is a very different energy because it says basically like Okay, I've been through the process from Ace to ten of what it is to kind of vision this garden, create all this stuff, and I've learned I don't always love what I've planted. I don't always love what I've made. I So what I want to do is drop a little bit more deeply into like, sure, I might want to create a garden here.
But is there anything that the garden wants of me? What does the soil want of me? Is this a yes to be in relationship in this way? It has more to do with like Am I living my life from a soul led place? Rather than an ego-led place. And it's not so much like a black and white yes or no, like this is soul-led, this is not. But Page of Pentacles is a really powerful invitation to pause and slow down and check in and say, am I in right relationship right now? Am I in alignment?
Is this a yes? Are we in this together? So the fact that this is the card that showed up for the Deepus lesson of these eclipses. tracks very strongly with the work we're doing with Temperance and the Devil. Temperance does much of the same work. It is a it is a really powerful expander and a really powerful reorientation in terms of like, sure.
Your brain might want to take you here, your historical shit might want to take you there, but really what's in alignment for you? Like what's what's really a yes and a no from from a soul perspective?
¶ What to Pay Attention To: Five of Swords
What can we pay attention to over the next few weeks as we marinate in the eclipses and all of the energy that shows up in them? Five of Swords. So As I mentioned before, the devil is an amazing, powerful, beautiful, awesome tarot energy, but it it brings contraction. It just does. It's a full stop period. The devil also brings up old shit, old invitations to like talk to people, engage with shit.
you know, fuck around in ways that were like bring nothing but pain because they're known and familiar and we we're acquainted. with what it feels like to go through them and very often we can tell ourselves like, oh, it'll be different or, you know, whatever. It will only wind up making us feel like shit. So Five of Swords casts a very similar energy as the devil does. Like both are they're not the same kind of energy, but
Five of Swords often shows up when there's a story that things should be different than what it is. We should know better, do differently. Um, it can show up as regret, as shame, as like really believing a story, but we don't actually have all of the information. So what we really want to know. is the mind is not always a reliable narrator. You know, and that's true in any moment, but it you you we we must keep that in mind.
In the next few weeks, it will be crucial to remember that it things are not always what they seem. Do not take those cookies, as my teacher Michelle would have said, out of the oven before they're fully baked yet. You don't know. You don't know what something is fully you know, coming into, you know, how something is fully coming into being yet until it's done. You just don't have all of the information.
So we want to take it one step at a time. We want to go gently. We want to go slowly, but we really want to know. Again, that's what we're being invited to pay attention to. The mind, the thoughts that we have, they're an invitation, not necessarily true. We don't have to believe our thoughts. We don't.
So we want to sharply question what feels like fact and rule and law and what is and what has been, so it will always be. It is not the time to do that. It is a time like ideally, we don't know what the next few weeks are gonna bring for us collectively or for each of us individually. But we know that under the surface, and in some ways on the surface, we're going through huge questions of like. support, community, spiritual practice.
Um, the shit that keeps us from asking for that, the isolation, the judgment, the shame, the guilt. That keeps us from that. What pops up when we do ask for help, whether we get it or not, like whether it's a positive or a negative reinforcement to that story. And we're also looking at, you know, what what kind of love and care can we call upon as we work through some of those wounds?
You know, what is the orientation? Like what we what are we being invited to do more of or less of? Is there anything we're being called to change or to shift or to pivot now that we have more of this information? and to really not believe our thoughts. That's that's good advice. Like anytime, but especially during this eclipse. Like we are in Devil Five of Swords energy in this eclipse. You you absolutely must not.
buy into all of what you're believing. It's really important and it's not easy. And sometimes it's really painful. Um, all that stuff is bubbling up. to be worked through, looked at, named, you know, to to really be brought into Not the light as in, you know, some idea of like, oh my God, the light is so perfect or whatever, but j like literally seeing just more clarity. Yeah, it's really deep work. You may not totally be able to explain how it pivoted you or shifted you.
all of the work that these eclipses are doing on you, on us. Um, but it is happening to be sure. It's a it's a shift from like line two energy to line three energy. Um, and it's really more about breaking through the stories we tell ourselves and taking really good care of our nervous systems as best as we can as we go through the process. So
