Jessica – Today is Episode 101, I will be chatting with my Mum about what she does at Tamara Jane Kitchens. What do you do at work mum?
Tamara - Hi Jess, Tamara Jane Kitchens is a boutique Australian Made company located in Braeside, South East of Melbourne Victoria. We are a husband & wife team who manufacture, design & install custom cabinetry. I co-ordinate & liase with clients to help them design their projects & chat about the type of finishes they could have in their custom joinery project.
Jessica - Mum, can you tell me more about what you do
Tamara – I am Tamara, I am the designer in the business. I like to pride myself & our team on our attention to detail & ability to listen to you. I work with the cabinet makers, manufacturers, suppliers, interior designers, builders, plumbers, electricians, painters, plasters & more to achieve custom cabinetry designed for you.
Jessica – That’s a lot of phone calls Mum, what else can you tell us about Tamara Jane Kitchens?
Tamara - I will listen to our clients, document all the information & assist to produce the cabinetry based on their brief. At Tamara Jane Kitchens is about "custom cabinetry" therefore there is a lot of information that needs to be noted before we can design your project. No project is ever the same.
Jessica – What type of projects do you do mum?
Tamara - Our projects include kitchens, vanities, pantries, laundries, wardrobes, desks & so much more.
Jessica – What happens next for the project at Tamara Jane Kitchens?
Tamara - Once the project has been accepted, I will work with the client to provide 3D drawings based on the measurements & brief. These drawings offer front, side & top elevations with appropriate colour selections, appliance selections & accurate measurements for both the expectations from the client & for the manufacturer to produce the custom product.
Jessica – What is something that you do best at Tamara Jane Kitchens?
Tamara - It is so important to make sure the design meets our clients expectations. I ensure that their favourite coffee cup is actually going to fit in that drawer, or the pot drawer is of the correct height for that everyday item. We take into account existing services & make sure the new design is going to be functional & cost effective. Once the client have signed off on the drawings, we co-ordinate the project with the necessary trades to get the job from conception to completion.
