Episode description

Billy Porter is a Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award-winning, actor, singer, director, composer. He won a Tony Award in 2013 for originating the role of "Lola" in Broadway's Kinky Boots, and his electric portrayal of "Pray Tell" in Pose earned him a 2020 Golden Globe nomination and a Critics' Choice Award nomination. He also recently starred in the eighth season of Ryan Murphy's acclaimed American Horror Story: Apocalypse as "Behold Chablis."

Billy joins us to discuss his career, his experience as a black queer man in entertainment, and his role on the acclaimed series Pose. Co-created by Ryan Murphy, Pose is a drama spotlighting the legends, icons and ferocious house mothers of New York's underground ball culture, a movement that first gained notice in the late 1980s. Making television history, Pose features the largest cast of transgender actors in series regular roles. The Golden Globe-nominated and Emmy-nominated drama also features the largest recurring cast of LGBTQ actors ever for a scripted series.
