Episode description

Courtenay Griffiths KC

On this episode I’m absolutely thrilled to be Talking Law with the legendary barrister Courtenay Griffiths KC

Currently based in London at 25 Bedford Row (recently voted Crime Set of the Year) Courtenay practises predominantly in criminal defence, in hugely complex murder cases as well as fraud and drug offences.

He discusses what it was like to defend Charles Taylor, accused of war crimes and the incredible challenges he faced working on the Damilola Taylor murder trial.

He also revealed the racist treatment he received as a young man and how that led him into law.

Presented by barrister  Sally Penni, founder and chair of Women in the Law UK
