Episode description

How do you get the right person to audition for your latest project?

By writing a short, focussed casting brief.

And in this episode, I've got 5 easy ways to write one.

A good brief should cover:

  1. The type of project: commercial, gaming, e-learning
  2. The kind of actor you're looking for - gender, vocal age, language or accent
  3. The energy or tone you want to capture. Or even the kind of role the voiceover is playing.
  4. The script and any character sides.
  5. Details about the practicalities: the timing, the studio, the fee.
