Episode description

On Smart Companies KC, host Kelly Scanlon  visits with Amy Bretall, an entrepreneur who when she’s not working to grow her business, Arbor Grove LLC, can be found volunteering across the Kansas City community. Bretall left the corporate world in 2014 to start her own company providing community planning, project management and public relations for communities throughout Missouri. Arbor Grove engages in comprehensive, regional, and economic development strategic planning activities that necessitate different types of public outreach and participation.  Bretall is a board member of the Linwood YMCA and a graduate of the Kansas City Chamber’s Centurions leadership program and was recently appointed by Kansas City Mayor Sly James to the Planned Industrial Expansion Authority (PIEA). The PIEA fosters commercial and industrial development in specifically designated redevelopment areas and is one of just a handful of women in such a position.
