And I'm having to get used to it too, but I can't. I can't get to it. I didn't notice it until you flubbed the opening, Lion, I tell no lies. Heckma looks so offended. Shannon Sharp us to have a

heavy tongue. Back in the day, he worked, He worked really hard. He's really good now, but back in the day, we're talt on this speech playing days. Yeah, hard knocks. Yeah, when he did that restitution, Yeah remember that. No, I mean he's he's a Georgia boy from the South, so those some of those things don't go in his favor. So yeah, it's fair. It's a good point. But yes, I am struggling with the in visiligne from time to time. I'm trying to get through it. Do you have to

All right, We've got some news and notes to hit. The Cowboys were on the practice field again yesterday, and of course

week five is here. The New York Giants are on the docket. Anything come out of yesterday, Rob just good news in terms of Zeke and Amari practicing, getting some limited work in and they're trending towards Sunday. Just trying to get them some rest Wednesday and kind of manage stuff. And you know, Zeke said his knees a little tight from the game, and it's just something I think for maybe both guys. Just get to the bye week and you get that week off after the Patriots game, and

they should feel much better. That's such good news to have both Digs and Cooper who were limited, and we talked about it yesterday on the show, but having both of those guys limited is not an ideal thing moving forward. But you still expected them to play. But the fact that they're feeling better and that they're not being bothered by it is certainly great news for sure, for sure. And you know, so we'll see with guys that are

on I R if they're getting any closer again. You know, with guys that are getting close like that, you got one game to go before the buye. You know, Michael Gallops an example. You get him through the buy maybe, and then he's got that extra week. So we'll see if anybody could get back after this game, but that buy is always right out there for an extra week

arrest there. Speaking of guys getting back, I know, since we last recorded, the news came out that Lyle Collins was filing a lawsuit against the NFL for his five game suspension to be lifted. I don't know if that's do you have any extra explanation or news on that specifically of what that could mean for him and if he comes back early. Well, it's it was a reminder of twenty seventeen when Zeke went through this process for

weeks on weeks on weeks. Yeah, like he would get an injunction and then it would go to a different court and it would get removed, and then he would go to a different appeal and it would get back in play. So we'll see what happens. You know, the timing is is tough because there's only two games left and at this point you're thinking, an, there's just one game where maybe he could try to get one game off the suspension, but if nothing else, maybe he's trying

to get his game checks back. That's the thing that's probably at this point, that's all he can be really fighting for. Right, Yeah, I can't get the games back, but you can get your money back. So last we saw the reports, it's got to you know, it was supposed to go to a certain court in Texas. It's got to get to assign to a judge, and then it's going to get hurt. So he's trying to get a temporary or straining order. Tro is what I learned in twenty so I learned all this court room jargon

with Zeke back in twenty seventeen. Then now I'm you know, it's like going back to law school or something. But we'll see what happens there. But obviously they're preparing for Terence Steel to be the right tackle for now. Gotch. I just I saw that news yesterday and it kind of, like you said, goes back to that conversation that we had in twenty seventeen surrounding Zeke and whether or not it was possible for him to come back. I thought kind of the same thing that I say, it did

though it wasn't really possible. And let's go get those game checks back if you're Lyle Collins, because I mean, those are some big old paychecks that you're leaving on the table with a suspension like that, for sure. So the Cowboys offense versus the Giants defense, we flipped the script from yesterday in terms of our preview, and I ask you, heck ma Harrison, what is the identity of

this Cowboys offense right now? If you had to pick a strength, if you had to pick one aspect of this offense that is the go to cornerstone, what is that identity? Then? I do not have one for you, and I'm not gonna even lie to you. I feel like Jesse Holly tweeted it the other day, one of two POC songs, how do you want It? And that's what we show up to the stadium with, how do you want it? How do you what you're gonna get? You know, head a gut. We're gonna approach this that way.

And if Kellen Moore continues this trend with each and every week, with whatever you try and take away from us, that's we can go into something else and those things like right now, the way that the running game is going, I think people will start to venture back to, oh it's a running game. It's you know, get the running game going. But that's really not it. And you can tell you'll see in those games where teams take away the running game, load the box what Dak can do

on the outside. So look, it's just hard to say what the identity is. I just think, you know, whatever you try and take away, we have so much talent on our offense, we can exploit you on any end of the field. Yeah. I don't disagree with heck him on that. It is difficult because this team is so well versed. If I had to select the identity for us, I believe that we've turned into a pass first, but

try it if you want to. We'll run on you second type of offense, especially whether it's you know, Dak what has ten touchdowns and I think rushing around five right around there, all right, So I think we are throw it first, just because that's what Kelly Moore likes to do. But try us if you want to go too high, and we'll run this bar down your throat as well. So yeah, that it kind of reminds me of Seattle who played last night, and those early years

with Russ. Sorry about that, Sorry about the dub, but but they early on it was Marshawn Lynch first, yeah, and then Russ continued to develop as a as a quarterback, and then it flipped and it turned into you know, he's the best player on the team. And I think that's where they are with Dak right now. But they can still beat you any way they want. If I had to describe it, I'd say what Dak said about Kellen.

You know, he's in his bag right now. Heck, and Dak said I kind of am too, and like you know, and It's not just like fancy stuff, creative stuff. It's Kellen Moore just being patient and saying I don't have to force anything just to show how smart I am as a play caller. It's like, if we just need to hand it off and run you over, fine, we'll just do it that way. So is the identity just Kellen Moore? Is that? Is it your your coordinator is doing a top notch job or is it think that's

always the case for any successful offense. I mean, regardless of how great your players are. And again I've been saying this all week, this always comes down to the offensive coordinator. It's just playing as simple. I mean, Jason Garrett, no, I mean, no shit, we'll find out this way. I think he's gonna bring his all his bag this week because I think he's hearing those murmurs of how good

Kelly Moore is. And as a he's a competitor, right, And it's whether you're competing on the fielder, whether you're competing in the in the in the booth, right, either way, you're gonna try to show your tale. Just here, I heard something says Jay Gez in the background. Jay Z, So, I mean, uh, you know, he had all the talent in the world over here on the side of the ball as well, and for whatever reason, right, it just didn't work out. So, I mean both guys had the

same opportunity with almost the same amount of talent. One person seemingly is doing better. Yeah, and I know you're looking for a just just an answer on what it is. And I just think that we're so multifaceting on the offense is really hard to do that. And I see the game plan clearly in this game because if they're trying to bring Russias off the edge, this could be a big game for our tight ends. Again, I mean, Dalt Schultz j when these guys are doing a superb

job in the middle of the field. So and you even outline to play last week of you know, some of the tight end screens that you see being ran across the league. Schultz took that. I mean, it's just it's textbook in this league about the way the teams are using their tight ends. And I love the way Kelly Moore is incorporated. What do you think it is. You think it's one specific thing or you think it's just the versatility. I think it's the ground game that

sets up the past still at this moment. Maybe not last year, maybe not when you were throwing at fifty eight times in week one, but yeah, right now, I think it's the running game. If your running game is able to salt away games, is able to punch some defenses in the mouth and wear them down step by step to where you can hit a Cedric Wilson over the top, or you can find adult and Schultz that's open underneath the defense and he's able to weave his

way home for a touchdown. I mean, there are multiple ways you can win. And I wasn't even in the question. No identity is still an identity. I mean, even if the answer is we don't really have one, then that answers the questions specifically because they are so multifaceted. And just because I think the run game sets up the pass well and that's probably the cornerstone of your offense right this second. Doesn't mean that next week Deck Prescott can't throw for four hundred and fifty yards and win

you a game, because you ultimately can do that. Hit the nail on the head with that, and p I'm glad, I don't know you haven't mentioned it. But right now, this is the first time that the Cowboys have had two two hundred and fifty yard rushes in that franchise, So I guess we could we that's the identity because if you've never had that in this story franchise that we've had, then obviously the running game is a big

catalyst for the success we're having. I mean, anytime you run for five point three yards to pop as a team. As a team, Tony Pollin's running for six point eight yards on average per carry, that's really impressive. And then of course Zeke is at five point three as well, right at that team average across the board, So you're running the football exceptionally well and with chunk yardage down the field. I don't see how that's not your identity

or at least strength at this moment. Like I said, that can change because you have so many weapons scattered throughout that offense. But now I flip it to the defense. What is the identity for the Giants defense? Because do they have an identity right now? No? No? Why is that they haven't been effective in anything? They haven't They haven't been dominant in any pace, And I feel like in order to have an identity. There has to be something that you're known for, right, it has to be

something that you're consistently good at. And I don't think that the Giants right now have represented anything in terms of whether they're not necessarily the biggest. They're not the most physical, they're not the fastest. They don't force a ton of turnovers, right, they don't threaten you in terms of upfield rush. So, like, what is their identity when you're breaking down the film and you're looking at them

in their safeties? How deep they play their safeties? I mean, and this is the first time that and I even went back to last year they were not playing the safeties as deep as they were before. And even the door Jackson the way that they play him. They've had their they've had their share of injuries. I mean, they're

missing their linebacker. He's a tackling machine, so he's gone. Yeah, Martinez, And I think in the NFL right now, everybody's playing this Ben, but don't break style, you know, because of what the offense is taking from them. So Ben, don't break wait till we get down in the red zone and try and play ball from there to force a field goal. Or keep our fingers crossed for a turnover. And that's where the New York Giants are right now.

And I know every time someone plays the Cowboys, they build them up each and every week and say, oh man, these guys are coming. No, they have some problems over their own defense. Yeah, they have problems. And obviously, as a defensive coordinator, you know your job is to put your defense in the best situation possible. So if you know that you don't have the personnel to go up there and press these guys man and man or to play single high coverage and you're exposed with that, then

what would you do. Well, I'm gonna play ben, but don't break because I don't have the personnel to go out there and be dominant till you know to my point, So you do. You play with the cards that you dealt, and those are the cards that they have right now with the Giants. And unfortunately, you know they're they're playing the Cowboys this week and they just don't match up. Well. Yeah, I feel like last year they were you know, they

weren't like spectacular defensively, but they were solid. They didn't give up a lot of big plays. They were able to scheme some things, and they did pretty well in the pass rush department last year. They've only got six sacks so far, so that has not been their strength up front. I'd say their strength is on the back end in terms of their personnel. I mean, Brad Berry, Logan, Ryan Peppers, those guys were good, but they haven't been

able to manufacture a lot of pressure. And if there's one thing the Cowboys, you look back to last week where they struggled with at least in the first half, Carolina got to them. So you know, if Dak's got all day, that's gonna be a problem. And I agree with you on the you know, if the teams are I feel like more teams are going to try to play that way with their safeties back and just you know, death by a thousand cuts instead of Dak just just

chewing us up with single coverage. It's it's I mean, we just talked about this offensive versatility and it really is a picture poison type of thing right there. Is It's interesting to think because last year I remember talking about the Giants front and Leonard Willias and you were talking about how they were starting to get pressure and it looked like an ascending defense. It's the front. Well

where did that go? What happened there? Because I'm seeing the same thing you guys are When I went back and watched the New Orleans game, I mean, they didn't really get pressure on Jamis Winston. They didn't force Jamis Winston to make mistakes. Now, everybody collectively kind of got after it in the fourth quarter because then they started getting a little momentum and had some fire underneath them

to get pressure on Jamis Winston. But even at that point, it still wasn't anything that jumped off the screen like we've seen with Tampa Bay and with the Los Angeles Chargers and what we saw last week against Carolina. It just isn't that threat on that side of the football this week. Well, defensively, I think you know what a difference of year makes. It takes a lot to continuously be it dominant year in and year out. I think we're seeing that with the Washington football team, the way

that they're getting gashed. You think about the way that the Cardinal shocking it really is, but then go back to the way that the Cardinals they put it on the Rams last week. So you know, it takes a lot to be as dominant as we've seen some these fronts. But when you go back to Leonard Williams, and I just think that the guys hurt. He's been playing injury for these last couple of games. He's questionable even for

this game. So again, it's a long season, and I feel like as teams are starting to get guys back, guys are starting to get healthy, maybe we start to see the better version of the Giants later on, because right now they're banged up. You look at all the guys that they have on ir and man, that's almost half of their defense and banged up for this week too, right is it? I think Peppers Peppers is on there,

Dexter Lawrence on there too, not this week? Okay, Now there's only three defensive players on the injury or port Jabrill Peppers who did not play in the back half of the fourth quarter and then into overtime against New Orleans. And then you've got, of course, Leonard Williams, like hackm I just mentioned, he did not practice yesterday. Leonard Williams. Very excuse me, Leonard Williams. Yeah. And then there was one more, oh Nate Ebner was limited with a quad,

so they do have. I mean, their key pieces are banged up. Those are three guys that are legitimate playtime contenders and they're not. And that's why I expect for Dak to attack them and on every level this week, because he realizes that he's fighting the team that is wounded. And if we get on them right away, they're gonna have a hard time getting back in this game. All right, you go for it. No, No, I agree, And we

talked about it on one of the other shows. Is just you know, I think one of the keys is getting up on these boys and then and then staying up, like not just getting up and allowing them to come back like Carolina was allowed to get get up on these boys. Yeah, be relentless, put your put the pedal to the metal and drag these boys. Drag them to the point where you almost feel best sorry for him, and then you remember they get paid. Drag him some more, right, Like,

that's what needs to happen in this game. We need to get to that level of aggressiveness of punishment because teams need to feel that it doesn't matter, right, it doesn't matter if we're down by twenty one. These boys are still gonna go up there and do their job when they come on the field offensively, we need to drag these boys unto the ground. And doesn't that show

up on film? And when they when other teams are evaluating too, you see see that there's like the Cowboys are going to be physical and if you don't match their kansa game, they're they're gonna drag us for the whole game. We don't want that, so don't get yourself embarrassed. So that's something that we've been taking on now. We are the giver to the point I brought up a conversation yesterday. You know, I was kind of kind of

joking about it, but it's it's a thing. Dan Quinn knows what it feels like to get up on a team. Oh god, right, and not finish them. Oh yeah. I mean it sucks that he had to go through that, But maybe that situation. I feel like we all go through things and prepared us for our future. Maybe that situation is preparing him for something that he may face here.

Maybe down down the road we're playing against Kansas City, we get up on these boys and yet or we need to learn how to finish these boys because their ability to hurry from score. Right, So those those past experiences help you in the future. So hopefully that's a lesson that that's learned that he can bring to this organization as well. That's another thing he can pull out of the coach's motivation back, yes, down, I mean right now.

I mean his career is fantastic from the Seattle days and what he was able to do with that defense and then working into the Atlanta days. But he's defined by the collapse. He's defined by the Super Bowl collapse. As the head coach of the Falcons, now he can use that though he could say listen, I don't care if we're up twenty eight to three. I don't care if we're up twenty eight twenty seven. Finish the ball

If you do try and take that mindset into the football game of oh, they don't bring a whole lot, where is their strength and where could they potentially come

up and bite the cowboy? Don't mess around and throw the ball up brad Berry's way exactly. Don't don't take it for granted that that you're just that much better than them, and not be on your p's and ques in terms of finishing players, in terms of your release dak, in terms of delivery of the ball, location, angle of entry, entry, point of angle, all those things, because Bradberry will make you pay if if if he catches you slipping, now

he can go He'll go up there and snatch that thing. Uh, Jamison last week thought he could just throw it up there and think that his guy was just superhuman and he's not playing against another NFL competitor man, and Bradberry's like a player. I get paid too, So that's why I always say respect your opponents, you know, and acknowledge what they can and can't do. But don't don't don't try them, don't try them, don't don't don't push the don't push the envelope. That's a that's a matchup I'm

waiting to see this week Brad Burry Cooper. Yeah, I want to see it. And I know they're gonna get Bradberry some health. They better if they don't, that's that's going We're gonna exploit that. I want to see where CD is. I think CD suffered a lot from not being in the slot. They need to move them back down, move them around, do some things with him. And this could be a game that eighty eight just exposes the

giants in real time. Um but just you talk about where we cannot go to sleep, and I think it's still going to be with Tyler Beardish in the middle of this defense. I think teams are seeing that if there's any weakness in our old line, it's it's right up front with the center. We've gotten that help with Martin and what a difference of seventy makes right and what he's been doing to help him. But even still, if teams are trying to bring pressure right up the middle.

I think we're all going to be a little bit nervous right there. So continue the streak that beardist has had in getting him that help, especially when teams decide to decide to blitz us in the middle. Yeah, and he, I mean we've talked about it, how he's gone up against them really, I mean, the best in the league so far, a couple of different matchups. But so we'll see how it goes as we go along. You know. Mike McCarthy was asked yesterday about Connor McGovern getting backup

center reps. You know, I'm trying to create a controversy, h I heard something that you did. I was on a pod with our friends in Europe and they said, you made a bet about McGovern scoring a touch down something or another. I didn't make him. Yeah, is that we don't make bets around here. He okay, don't do that. I was thrown off when he said I said he made a bet. I want the UK Cowboys send in their rebuttal and I want video of this. Such was it was? It was. It was basically mcgoverned at fullback

and I was saying, yeah, come on, Kelen. Once you get down there to to the one yard line, you gotta feed sixty six because he has been just rolled around. Oh that's right then, And I was like, yeah, refrigerator Perry, Yeah yeah, yeah, man. I mean maybe one day I wouldn't put I said, I wouldn't put it past Kellen to do anything right because he's in his back. Okay, but I don't know about it. You got so many freaking options, like you know, I don't I don't know

about that. But what about the job that he's doing when he comes in as fullback and they go with that fat Man package is what I call I love it. I love the fat Man package. Bar I like you to the Mac package, the macpack, Mac and Cheese package because McGovern truck McGovern Kyle. One point I wanted to bring up in terms of where we can be exploited if we decide to just go into this game not focus. What do we put on film last week that they could take advantage of m We put the ball on

the ground three times. Fumbles, We put the ball on ground three times. This team does not tackle well at all. Taysom Hill ran through these boys like Seawee Water all right. So I mean these they don't tackle well, but what they do is they'll try to punch at that thing. They don't secure their tackles, but they will punch at the ball. And you show me that you're getting back to your old ways of last year, which is what we showed last week we got we got lucky. Week three,

Week four, Week five, we got lucky. Last year was bad. This year we got away with three potential fumbles. Right, those guys are gonna be punching at that ball because they know that they can't stop us. But just playing their regular defense, right, they're not gonna be able to stop us. They might better slow us down, but they can't stop us. We're gonna get our points. So when you're facing an offense like that, what do you do? Get turnovers? However? You can? You you try, you punch right,

grab one hand, punch with the other right. So pay attention to that. Pay attention to because we put some bad film out there last week. Even though we got the victory, we still put some bad film out there in terms in terms of opportunities. Yeah. I was gonna say this sounds homer Ish, but I just feel this way right now, beating themselves is the way they're gonna

get stopped. And you mentioned like they've had some trouble up in the interior of the offensive line, for sure, but putting the ball in the ground, penalties in the red zone, things that push you back, and kicking field goals instead of touchdown, especially if you face an offense that that's really rolling and the Giants are getting better, That's how you're gonna lose games right now, I think, I don't. They just don't have a ton of weaknesses

right now. You can, you can, you can make it tough on them for a half, but like Carolina, they it's like they solve the puzzle by the second half, and some of it is they can just wear you down. You know. With the running game, this is the first game of twenty twenty one that you really get into it. And from a standpoint, I'm not gonna by any means say this is what's going on in the locker room.

But you can look at this game and say this should be a blowout because even the Philadelphia game, as much as you thought your talent level was higher than Philadelphia, it's a rivalry game. It is Philadelphia and Dallas and there's always that little added question mark around those games, and you can potentially say that about the Giants, but I just don't feel that same passion and intensity from

this rivalry over the last couple of years. And part of that is because of the way that the Cowboys have dominated it. Are you kidding me? It's the Giants. These are the degenerate giants come to town. These are the guys that will write their names on your lock visiting locker rooms. Aren't those same giants whatever? As are not those same giants. So I mean it is a it is a rivalry. It's in the NFC East game. I mean this this goes back to the I got it.

It was his Super Bowl. Yeah. I know he's trying to do I'm not. Hey, it's all good, but that's what I'm saying. This is this, this is a rivalry game. We've played these guy to know how many times over the years, but it's it's it's a lot hundreds send them home last years. Another thing we need to be

aware of. You're looking for the who's gonna be the next dude to get the big hit, And then you can kind of get you can kind of get drawn into that and say that whole thing, and you start losing some of your your bases and some of your mechanics, and you'll start just going out there hitting with your shoulders instead of wrapping.

Absolutely so if you try that with these two dudes, they're going to get the ball on the hands of Kadarius Tony at least six times this game planned on that they're starting to get him the rock underneath five yards.
