Is say it with your che asked Friday. There is Cowboys football back on the television this week. And as you see by the bowl that's down at the end of the table, it is also Halloween week here at the Star. Nobody wore some costumes today. You already did on the hit sticks, right,
that's true. We did that. Checked that out. That's pretty awesome. Yeah, you were a Teddy Bear suit Thunderbuddy, Thunderbuddy. And then and then it was DC incredible as he called himself. Barry Church said he was the defensive coordinator incredible. You were too huh? I was too cool for one. I had had an orange T shirt on, I had a little as on it. Standbacks dressed up as a former Washington quarterback. It looks like a Yes, we need a
former one because the current one isn't getting to done. Wow, shot fire. Some Washington fan is going to just the truth, No lies, detective, nothing at all. But everybody having fun? What is everybody going as for Halloween? Or the kids going as a skinny guy? What is going on here? Why? Chris? Why do you have to have the camp? Come on? You got your fruit? Right? The better camera, better angles man, that's cold bloody with friends like these America? Who needs enemies?
There's unbelievable. He and then this morning, you know what, Isaiah, Isaiah stand back to owns a gym, comes in here with doughnuts and collaches. Our slow season. You got your fruit right there, You got what you need. You got yours land minds that got the whole studio smell like missus, Barrett. Let me ask you a question. Let me ask you a question. Yes, right, we got a game this game week, right, fellas, we're about to go against Mike Zimmer, one of the
highly touted blitzers in the history of the NFL. Are you gonna go through all the practice without facing the blitz? Are you not gonna be prepared for that challenge? I am gonna be. We are blitzing you right now. Temptation, brother, come on, let's pick up. It sounds like a guy who should be a coach. It was very well done. Like this clot is amazing, It's so good in the back, it's so good. You've been talking about Zeke all week. Yeah, you gotta eat. You gotta pick up the blitz what
I was thinking? Actually, yeah, I'm picking it up. I'm good. That's a problem. I got my fruit cup over here and my granola and water. Looks a clean hoodie too, you got on today. This was the best line of hoodies. I think the Cowboys Pro Shop's ever done because they had this one, the great one that Derek wears all the time. Nice, and then I have the black one that has that same logo in the front. I love those white white you know, it's even more impressive in
fact that it's still white clean there. There's only a certain demographic individuals that will wear all white hoodie, I mean all white suits about Miami type cast you know quick, I ain't well, we are here every day, all the rules out on Wait, Chris, would you just say day? I thought you're not supposed to wear a white after labor day. That's a whole that's an allhood rule right there. It's white is lennen. You can't wear white linen. That's okay, good,
glad we clarify, Thank goodness for everybody listening. All right, we do have some extra news to get to from the Cowboys side of things. Dak Prescott going into yesterday really feels like I felt really felt like Dak was going to play. I mean chance he was going to play. But I was kind of thrown for a loop yesterday with the way that both he talked about it, way that Mike McCarthy talked about it, the way that Stephen
Jones even talked about it. And there's an interview coming out later on Dallas cowboys dot com and on the YouTube and everything or Cowboys social channels. But rob any news on Dak and his progress to potentially being available this week. He spoke to us for twenty minutes yesterday, and I thought he was pretty candid about the whole thing, the calf, his work in practice, and I agree with you.
I came out of that a little less sure about whether he's going to play in this game because the way he referred to it, he actually compared it in a certain sense to the shoulder strain in training camp, where, Yeah, I think even I said this on media match yesterday, I think he said something similar during camp, like they're they're trying to protect me from myself and it's something that we don't want to linger. I'm not saying he's
out for a month. I'm not saying he's out for this game necessarily, but they're obviously proceeding with caution here now. He did go through another limited portion yesterday, but he ramped it up. I think it was more of an intense workout than he had before. He wanted to push himself on Thursday and see how it went. Everything seems to be going good. But if it's close, then I don't know if they play him in this game, because as he said, and as as they've said, it's it's October.
You know, it's not January. There's a long way to go here. Yeah, that one. That one kind of hurts a little bit to hear. I mean, here's the words from him specifically, he said, if it was my call and it was totally up to me, yes, but there this is something that I agree with the experts. I don't want it to linger. I don't want to miss this week after week. Are we going through this basically? And it kind of reminds me of what happened in the preseason, kind of reminds me of the shoulder injury
and training camp him. It sounds like he's going back to that mindset that he had an Oxnard, which was keeping me from myself. I don't want to push myself too far as kind of what it reminds me of a little bit. Yeah. Absolutely. And you know, Steve Dennis even had he was on the media match yesterday and he was like, I've i've I'm a whisperer with this kind of stuff when guys want to play but they don't, And he puts out there that if it were up
to me, I'd be playing. He thinks that's a tell that just I'm tough, I want to play, don't we'll put it on me if I don't play Sunday, I don't know. We'll see, but it does sound like it's up in the air as of Friday. And look, they don't practice today. They got to walk through and then a light practice Saturday, and as he said, as Dak said, they'll probably make that decision by Saturday. So if it's
Cooper rushed, then he's ready to go. I say, you're making a face like you agree with what Steve Tennis was talking about. It reminds me of back in the day when I was like in middle school or high school, the old or Matt computers. You know, when you used to play the Oregon Trail and you had to follow the bread crumbs, you know, not before that one the floppy disc ones. I remember those, Yeah, and you know that that was a bread crumb. That was a bread crumb.
And as an athlete, the last thing you want people to question is your willingness to play when you know in the back of your head, or when you know you're being told that you're not going to play right or there's a high probability that you're probably not gonna play. What's your first team. That's just that's gonna naturally come out of your mouth. The first thing that is naturally gonna come out of your mouth is I mean, if
it was up to me, I'll roll. Probably didn't want they probably didn't want him to say that, but that's probably indicative as what's being said to him on the back end. I in my head, I I think I already mentioned this earlier in the week. I didn't. I think it's best as just gonna let him chill. It sucks because it's a competitive game and you know these
boys could play. But to that point where we foresee this team potentially going, it's probably smarter to if you were going to risk, let me say this, risk taking an l in position in the form of having your backup quarterback at the helm, This is the time to do it, because it's not worth the risk. The risk verse reward isn't there. And that's me taking the competitor out of it, because as a as a player, as you heard him say, if it was up to me, I'm on the field like, let's roll, you know, and
I'll just risk it. It's no different than than freaking Hop last night did d Hop de Hop who had a strain hammy that he came into the game with. But when he got time to to actually go time in a two minute drill the last he said, Hey, put me back out there. Yeah, Like I'm like, it's worth it for me. We need this game. DA's the same way. He wants to be on that field. But the doctor's gonna probably really men, I'm having a hard time reading in between the lines on all of this.
I know from us statistical strategic advantage that they have by not saying whether he's going to play or not, But I don't think that you have a backup that the other team is remotely worried about. If it turns into a game where Rush plays, then you know they're gonna rely heavily on their running game to establish anything. Um And I feel as though with Dak practicing, going through going through practice, and everyone's saying from the limited view that you have that he looks good, looks like
he's he's up to speed. If there was anything there that they wouldn't have him even involved in that if he was going to be out for a while, and that's just well for a while. But but he's not doing team stuff, he's not doing competitive stuff. Yet he said he's taking team reps in the walkthroughs. But if we're just if we're just resting it, if we're saying, look, we need to get off of it and rest, have nothing happened. I also heard him say I was going
to test myself today. If there's anything that was going to happen, it was gonna happen today. And it didn't. So going back to your what you were talking about about Hopkins going in, the Cardinals recognize that the NFC is competitive and going down to the edge. There's gonna be some teams that have good records that may not even make the playoffs. All right, But I believe right now the Cowboys understand that they are in the driver's
seat for a lot of things. And you could possibly have home field advantage of some home games, and we are scorching hot at home, and so look, this injury comes at a bad time. If Dak doesn't play on Sunday, it's going to be interesting. The way that Kelly Moore gets Cooper rushed up to speed. I just feel like with even with the limitations that Dak would have, it would be better suited to have him out there. There's things that you could do with having him and shotgun
and having Zeke and the pistol. That doesn't make him like on those design runs where he has to run all the way out there on those zone runs to get him the ball. I just feel like he gives us the best chance to win now if he is. But if he is, if he's compromised he can't protect himself in that situation, then no, you don't put your
quarterback out there to go through that. But to me, it seems like he's saying instead of it being like I'm preserving myself to say no, I'll go if I can go, I think he's letting us no. Man like, Look, I'm doing everything that I can to be available on Sunday. That's the way that I'm taking. And again we may be reading into this way wrong. No, and he is, and he trusts he trusts Britt Brown. They got a great relationship. And it's not he said, Look, it's not
fully my decision. It's gonna be the medical training staff, is gonna be the coaches. We're gonna do what's what's best. I will say, he I don't know. I lost strain of thought. I don't know what I'm gonna say it happens, Pee, I do it all the time and it's all good dog. But we need him. No, No, there's no doubt that you need him, right, But risk risk reward? Do you to know? Put it like this, put him in this game, you know there's a chance that he can make this
thing worse. Right, that's this we all agree on that he could reinjure. He could read right, not even just reinjury. It's it's already injured right now. It's just a matter of say, let's say that let's say that he's seventy percent right now, right, but you put him in a game and all of a sudden he tears it. Is that? Is that worth it? Or would you rather just let him chill this game? Run the risk of a higher probability of you losing this game, but know that you
have one hundred percent attack next week. And then then the timeline. That's where I'm asking, what is the timeline on this? It's a cap strain, right, so, I mean so so, I mean it's so intricate. There's so many different angles, right, That's what That's the thing about this. It takes one bad step and you could tweak this thing, and that's the reason why guys have to rest whenever they have hammy pools. It's the same thing. It's not
you're not just going in one direction. It's not just linear right as angles or a shoulder strain or a shoulder strain. That's kind of like he said at training camp. Now I remember what I was gonna say he said in training camp, like the kind of the similar stuff, Like if it were up to me, if this were a regular season game, I would play the same kind of thing he said. If it's if it's a playoff game or something, I'm in this. I'm in this game. But he also said to your point, he said, I
don't want the offense to be limited. I don't want to have a limited game plan. I want to play the way I want to play and not limit Kellen Moore. So that has to factor into it as well. It's just it just seems like it's very much up in the air right now. I wouldn't say he's ruled out um, but it also like it's day to day, like how's he feeling this morning? You know that's part of the discussion too. And we'll hear from Mike McCarthy this morning. Later,
we're fifty eight hours away something like that. Yeah, yeah, we're right around there, an, I mean, it's my thing is controlled reps. The reason why he's not doing team reps is control reps. You know exactly what you're gonna do. I'm gonna go out here, I'm gonna play action, I'm gonna come back. I'm sitting down. IM gonna be nice and controlled. When you have to react react instinctively, that's when those those muscle fibers fire up and ask when
you can piss them off. And again, it's just not worth it, man, it's not And I know Cowboys Nation doesn't want to hear that. You much rather have one hundred percent Zeke, I mean one hundred percent back next week than run the risk of holding your breath every dog on play this week. We don't know exactly the level of the strain, absolutely, but do you think like another week would help? I mean, we know it will help.
We just we don't know to what degree, right, but we know that he has a better chance of being healthier right away from today than you know, if he was to take that safer approach. It sucks because we want to be competitive, but at the same time, it's all funding games until you get in the game, and now you lose Dak for the whole dog on the
rest of the season or for five six weeks. And one of the things that we talked about with Michael Gallup in a calf strain is there's no need to rush him back because Ceedee lamb Amari Cooper, Cedric Wilson, Noah Brown, they're all playing well. The reason we need Dak Prescott back quickly is because you don't have that
backup quarterback you feel uber confident in address it. We haven't talked about Cooper Rush a whole lot on this show this week, despite the thought that Dak Prescott may not be available, because I think to a certain extent, we all thought Dak would be available. So when we cut back on the other side of the break, what can Cooper rush to help you win on Sunday? Should he be thrust it in to starting quarterback duty when we return here from the Star Honey, big news? Gary?

Welcome back here to Talking Cowboys, presented by Tostidos heck My Harrison, Isaiah stand back, Rob Phillips, Kyle Yeoman's with you, and we have a new segment coming up here in just a couple of moments. We're going to talk through under rated draft Kings pickups that you should go pick up in your daily fantasy this week. So we will talk a little draft Kings coming up in a moment and we'll have our pick them segments. We'll get ready to call
in two two nine seven. The fans are doing a really good job right now picking some games they've been happens. I'll tell you later. If y'all think y'all can beat us, call call us, call us, get on the line. Eight are Island. Today is your day for the read. Listen, listen, listen eight eight eight five five two two nine seven. I want to get the number out there, but it is your day for the read. You gotta get that in there. Okay, Okay. So Cooper Rush, how big of
a drop off is it from Dak Prescott? That's a loaded question. And what can he do to help you win come Sunday? What does he do well? We've seen him in limited action in the preseason, very limited action. Three career passing attempts in the regular season. So what can he do, Isaiah to help you win a game? Move the chains, don't throw ill advised passes. Make sure that we are in the right play. Vague as hell. Yeah, coach calls are run in the pass and every play. Right,
you have two plays every single time. Get us in the right play. Get us in the right play based upon the coverage, based upon the front, based upon the front seven. Get us in the right play. Make sure that we have a chance every play. Secondly, when you decide to pass the ball, make sure that you're not throwing the ball into bad situations. Make sure you're not throwing it into double coverage. Make sure you're not throwing
it late. I'm much rather you throw the ball out of bounds right, or run out of bounds instead of take it into that instead of having a bad, bad, ill advised throw right. Yeah, and then don't turn the ball over if you do it. If he does those three things, I think we're in. We're happy. We're happy. Give us a chance, all right, playing the devil's advocate here knowing that Mike zim coach him is gonna come
after him. Yeah, And I think even in the situation like that where you're talking asking him to check out of certain things. I don't know if he'll feel comfortable doing that, especially with the with the pressure that he may be under, because they're gonna sell out at the line of scrimmage to test to see if he can actually make those throws. So that's that's all I question. If they sell out, we have a great chance to
get big plays. Okay, you know what. I like that, But where our question is his ability to find it under pressure. I feel good with Dak being able to find it under pressure. Gonna come down with it, John Ban what is that? I can't do that, I mean, but look, you ask what he's gonna do. I you know, I think it's gonna be limited for him. Uh. As far as his running ability, we already know that these compromise. He's not that fast at all. Uh, So we can't rely on him. He runs faster than a five flat?
What does he run? As four nine three? Ah? Look at that speeds there? Rush. They don't call him rush for nothing. Take that away from quarterbacks. You can't take that. Can't take that away from him. He runs a four nine three blazing yea man if Cooper Rush is out and he rushes for a touchdown, We're gonna come back. He's built for a QB sneak. Yeah, it's gonna be great. Five Rob, How could Cooper Rush win this game if he starts? For people just joining us, we're not ruling Yeah,
we're not ruling him out. Um, we'll see what happens. But I was just looking at his stats. He's played in two career regular season games, one for three for two yards, so not a lot of experience. He's been the backup for a lot of years. You know, he's been in this offense for a lot of years. Um, just I mean, really, what you guys said, like, don't
make mistakes. I think one reason he got the big reason he got the job over Garrett Gilbert knowledge of the offense, comfort level, more command, and I don't think he didn't turn the ball over as much Scarrett Gilbert did. And as the backup, that's the biggest mistake you can make. Because you've got playmakers. Just play within yourself, get the ball to them and let them go make plays. And I think the game plan would have to be adjusted in that regard. Defense has got to step up. Everybody
would have to step up. Dak's not playing Sunday. Not only that, even in special teams. We had a spit punt block last week. And if Cooper Russian is going to be our quarterback this week, I say, we sell out in every way on special but sell out we got we gotta sell out, We gotta get it. Yeah, we gotta sell out. Did I hear that we want to have pressure on the special teams. Yeah, that's that's exactly what I said. Sounds like total opposite of what I heard here a couple of weeks ago. Well, I mean,
we finally, we finally got a block. We saw it work. We didn't turn that into any punt any points. Yeah, special teams can't control that, but I understand that. But I'm saying, when you don't have you don't have Dak, You're gonna have to pull everything out of your sad chell. So we needed satchels are nice? Yours is Louis mis fossil number, Yeah, fossil. Oh wow, that's that sly Yeah there, yeah, yeah, all right. Cooper rush ten of twelve in the Houston
Texans game this is week three of the preseason. He went twin ten of twelve on two separate drives with the number one offense, the number one offense of course without Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper and Ceedee Lamb at that time. But ninety seven yards in a couple of touchdowns, one forty passer rating in that game. So it got
him the job. That's what won him the job. Those two drives certainly beat Garrett Gilbert, who with the same offense went through one drive or no. Two drives and went three of five for thirty yards in a seventy seven passer rating. And this in the preseason game. That's so crazy, man, Just going back to that whole backup quarterback battle, it seemed like Eric Gilbert had that one, I mean headed in the bag and just Cooper rush
Sea biscuit him. Man, he came from behind. Oh that thing Natcher, I mean, And that was the game that essentially sealed the deal for him. Yeah, back snatcher man. So let's see. Yeah, I think Will Greer's active regardless. I think so too. I think they'll they'll keep three quarterbacks act with dak plays. I asked that yesterday and Isaiah said that you didn't think that was the case with what Dak said yesterday, I think kid will be the case. I think it completely flipped flop from what
we saw yesterday. All Right, we've got a new segment here for talking Cowboys. We did this a little bit last year. It's a little more informal at the point this year, but we have your daily fantasy Underdog. We're gonna pick a player each this week and we're gonna talk about why they could be in store for a big game against the upcoming opponent. We will do this on the second segment of every Friday show from here on out. We'll probably get some graphics at some point
to throw through there as well. But we do love our friends over at Draft Kings. They do great work. So heck ma, I'll let you start things off your underdog to come in and perform. And by underdog, I don't even mean necessarily a player that you haven't heard of or a player that is under the radar up from a talking standpoint, more of a let's let's throw this guy in there. He's gonna have a big game. He's in store for a big game despite maybe the
odds being stacked against him a little bit. I'm going Tony Pollard t peasy. I'm going Tony Pollard. I think Tony Pollard can break this game wide open for the Cowboys. I think he and Ezekiel Elliott are going to be pivotal and in this game with Cooper Rush at quarterback, if that is essentially the case, even with dak in, it's going to be the same thing. We're gonna have to establish the running game. I know a lot of the people that are so anxious about passing throwing at
fifty eight times a game. I don't think that this is going to be that kind of game, especially with the Vikings leading the NFL and sacks. I think we want to protect our quarterback. We want to establish dumb be dominant at the line of scrimmage, and I believe Tony Poler can break this thing open. That change of pace is going to be crucial, yep, especially with a loaded box. Having you get to the edge is gonna be nuts crucial for the Cowboys to be able to
have some offensive rolling, whether Dad plays or not. So I agree with you there. I like that pick a lot. Schultzenegger going with the Schultzenegger. I like that Schultzenegger. I'm going with l Dalton Schultz I think that he's been a very consistent player for us. He has obviously been a back snatcher in terms of the tight end room. He's coming taking it and taking that job. And he is mister reliable. He's getting I'm about averaging five to six catches a game. He seems to always be around
that seventy yard mark. I think that against a team like Minnesota, where their their strength, that their team is at the second level, I think he's gonna have a lot of ability to get to get free I'm and be an outlet for us, especially in a mic against a Mike Zimmer type defense. He is just a sure thing right there that you can put right in the middle of run him on out rouse. He is mister dooit all um. So I expect him, especially in the red zone, to be our guy. Remember your text last
night or text group? What about it? Did I say, don't take yours? Yeah, I'm so so. We We had just pulled in the curtain back a little bit. I laughed at the message a minute ago. He got distracted, pulled the curtain back. Me and heckmar are in the booth last night at the high school game, and I say he asked me. He's like, hey, what about this
draft king segment? I send a text message. I'm like, hey, yeah, everybody, you send in your your picks, sending your picks, and and heck next to me, he's like, oh, yeah, man, I'm gonna pick Zeke. I'm gonna do Zeke, and then put Zeke in the group message with an exclamation point with like emphasis yeah. And then and then Tony or Rob goes Tony Pollard like right after that, and and Heckman goes, man, that was a good pick. I like, I like, Tony, I mean, hey, that's cool. I would
never do that. I know you would. I did. And dude, that completely you know for that, I want you to do the read please. Oh I got it, Okay, I got it. That's because you're better at it. Anyway. I'm sorry I did that to you because ze Zeke's not under the radar. I understand. I mean, I understand, but Tony's Tony's a good pick. You know what he you know what he got last year? It gets Minnesota five carries sixty yards, who touchdown forty two yard run. Let's
share him. Change the pace those runs deffinitely, bam. Change the pace. Yeah, me and you though. I like you guys thinking right, And for anybody out there that's picking, it's mighty for DraftKings. I think Paula is a great pick, but I think he's gonna kill him with the passing and in the receiving game. I don't see it being on the ground. I see it being as a receiver because these guys have are bigger linebackers that don't move well in space right and there. I don't think they
can really stick him man to man. So I think you put TP out there and yeah, he still eats, but I don't think it's in a way in what you think about. That's why Schultz is gonna be so dangerous destroy as well. Yeah, and when when do do? No one wants to talk about Schultz as being elite. I understand that, and he's getting what he's him because of the guys that are around him. But you can't
deny the catches. I mean what he's averaging per game and how he's what he's averaging in the reds I mean as far as a possession receiver and in the red zone, he is our red zone threat. Let be no second guessing that he's our red zone dude. So when does he start ascending into the level of elite? Yeah, I don't know. That's a good question. I don't think we can put our hand on that for any position.
It's just it's just a matter of consistency, right, and when he's doing that right now, I think that if he continues on the path that he's on, we don't expect. I think when you think about tight ends, you think about you think about you think about guys that can break it out right now, right and not the old screw tight ends like the Gonzalez is in a way to the world. Now, you have to put those guys in the category. Okay, who can catch that thing and
get some yack. Yeah, Yeah, that's what that's what that's that's kind of where your mind goes. He's not that guy, but he is that sure thing. He has strong hands, he does a great job in the blocking game, and he is our red zone guy. Now when we get in the red zone, we are looking for shots. Yeah, and you saw and you saw last week Belichick, because two weeks ago, Belichick, when we got down in the reds on what he did, doubled him up. Yeah, sack, no, one else has penned on that, so I expect Coachy
him to do a little bit similar. But Lele would be a right tackle will be good, I think. So yeah, is that your Is that your bold prediction under the radars? I just see no way that Lee Collins is standing on the sideline at to begin this game. I just don't He's not gonna know he's a tackle. He is a tackle based playing his wife Guarden, he's playing. I don't think he starts his game as a tackle. I
put that on tape. He does not start this game as our right tay he's gone, and even with him missing the entire season last year, you're gonna bring him back, go through all that rehab and everything that he did. He's the right tackle, and then all of a sudden you're gonna toss in the left guard because Connor Williams
is obviously averaging more. But put the script on that, Are you gonna take him through all that and then have still go through all that be a consistent player players really as well as he has, and just to pull him about the game and say, oh sorry, you don't get paid him. You talk about culture all the time, and what culture is everybody in the in the locker room communicating and they all know each other. Those guys in the locker room know that Lael is better than
Terrence Steel when he's when he's ready. Yeah, you don't think there's anything to what they've said that he needs a ramp up period maybe or they just need to see where he's act conditioningwise, because he's missed so much football. I mean, some people don't buy it. Some people think this is a message to him. Um. I think there is some validity to that he has missed a lot of time. And maybe he's not starting this week. Maybe next week is different. Next week he's a starter. This week,
I don't see him being a starter. I do not see him being our right tackle at the beginning of this game. I don't. I don't think think I would agree with you there. And you know what if the ball, if the line balls out this week, what's you're why would you change? You know? It's a it's a good problem to have, man. I get you. He is he's I'm gonna join you, Elizabeth. I mean, I mean, but what I do foresee I do foresee us right. It's
like we did against the Giants, I believe it. Oh no, against the Patriots, we came out in thirteen personnel, right and jarwe got a touchdown, correct, all right, so thirteen personnel plus we had an extra. It was a big personnel we hadn't governed in there as an extra alignment. I do foresee us doing something like that with those big packages and bringing and bringing him in and those big boys, right, and just beating these guys down and downhill. Um,
But it's really difficult. It's to catch twenty two. And that's why we don't get paid to make those decisions. But you know, to take a player who has worked his butt off through camp. To take a player who has worked his butt off through these first six games and say, oh, sorry, the man is back. You go sit on the sideline. You've been great for us, that's very difficult to do. That's the speech. That's what you want. That's the speech. Dude. It happened. It happened to Romo
and twenty quarterbacks, different quarterbacks, different quarterback. Is still happen. It still happened. Agreed, that's different, right, that that position is different. When you start talking about we started talking about lineman that need continuity with the guys that are next to them, being able to communicate, being able to pass off blocks, being able to do all those things, handle the stunts right, staying in the hit pocket. No one of these guys are gonna go away. No, he's
gonna come to all the different calls. That is something that you don't want to mess with. So as we talk about protecting Dak right, and you're gonna throw Collins in the mix just right now when all he's had his practice reps. Yeah, he's a he's a Veteran's I hear you about wins the last how many games has he played in the last two years? So I said, I if Tyren Smith, who's been dealing with the neck issues, needs some rest, he goes out. It's not a suspension
or nothing like that. He just needs some rest and tying and sky and still whomever is over there at left tackle. Once Smith says that he's healthy enough, and even if we win those games, Smith goes back and he's starting. There's no question about that. He gets ramped up through practice and you start him. I understand maybe there's some things happening behind the scenes where they're a little upset with him, and rightfully so. But when the talent is undeniable for those I'm not saying that the
continuity doesn't matter either. I'm just saying the talent is undeniable. And you know that Leo Collins is a better right tackle than Terrence Steele. This particularly when he's healthy, when he's healthy, and when he's when he's conditions. When he was healthy, he was healthy, healthy against Tampa. He played the first game. And how did he miss the next five games? Yeah? Right, we understandand happened. Something happened. That's
That's what I'm saying. But to take somebody who's been doing their job what you've asked of Terrence Steel, he has done that. It's not like, oh he's been doing an okay job. He'd been doing a hell of a job. He's been doing a hell of a job. And yes, Loo, And I'm not This is me saying Lyo Collins is the better right tackle when he is in shape, when he's ready to roll. Is he ready to play right now? Is he ready to roll? I can't. I can't sit here and say that he is. So I think that
you work him into the game plan. But I don't think that you start the game and say you're a right tackle, protect the front side of that or rush. Yeah, it's like giving him a participation in trophy and I hate those in little league sports, Like everybody gets a rhythm ribbon. Dude, if you didn't win it, you don't get a ribbon. You don't get the trophy of the champions. Gip. You could say the same exact thing though about Lyo Collins right now and do his job. He didn't do
his job. He got in trouble, got the five game suspension, he appealed it, he came back, and guess what, Terren Steele's playing better right now. They're not gonna put a right tackle out there if they don't believe that's the best play for protecting their quarterback. They're not gonna make it a political thing. You don't give him the contract if you don't think that he's that Kyle they I'm not saying Lyle Collins is that or is not that.
I'm saying Terren Steele is that? Right now I'm saying I'm not saying Terren Steele is a better player than Lyle Collins. I'm saying in weekend of the twenty twenty one season. Terren Steele to their point, if he's out there, he's the better player in there, has asked that, right now, who's better today, Steel or Collins? Collins today right now being without being in game condition. Yeah, today, right now, without being in a game shape. I'm not We don't know.
You don't know. I don't know if it's Oh, I know it's not game shape. I know you say for five weeks he just completely it's not a game Okay, he guess was a game shape. He's better practice shape. He's better we talk about games. Damn well, if he's just I'm just I'm just being dead serious. Is the game and practice two different things? The intensity level is, the competitiveness is two different levels. Just don't understand how
y'all don't see. Maybe he's active as the backup left guard, backup tackle, active as the backup Collins and then hey, Daniel Hunters out there, see how the game goes. I'm serious, I mean, like he's he's there for depth and competition at the moment, and we'll see how it goes. I don't know where that is. You put Leo out there. Let's just say that right, there's nothing nothing wrong with that, right, If it's just no, it might take time to get him to the level of where he where we expect
him to be. If you put him out there, I don't think he's Jack who stole the man on the spot as soon as he steps on the field, right, But if you put Leo out there, what does he have to do in order for you to pull him? I mean, have a dreadful game, and I'm saying, what is that though? When you give up sacks um, you know, completely miss blocks? Those are those are things that I think will get you yank. But when's the last time
we saw a game where Leo Collins did that? I'm just asking a question that guess gave you an answer. But then there's that's that's all I'm basing it all. I mean, I think talent trump's that And this isn't one of those things where we're in high school. I'm gonna punsch you for the first half because you didn't go to class. I mean, these guys aren't acquired boys. And let's come on, man, there's no perfect people out here.
If you're mad at him because of what he did and you feel like he was being irresponsible and there's a cast, a bad shadow over the organization. Okay, we've had those situations in the past, but let's not punish everybody by continuing down this road. We have a healthy Leo Collins. Play him, find him if you're mad at him. Yeah. No, it's a great point. I don't think the political side of it, and I call it politics, but it's more of just locker room antics. I don't think that should
play into it. It needs to be the better player that's out there playing. And if it's Lyle Collins, it's Lyle Collins. If it's Terrence Steele, it's Terren Steele. There can't be any off the field stuff that leaks into the starting group. You cannot have that happen no matter what. So I'm a little in between both of Get him in shape, all right. When we come back, we've got I pick him. Say it with your chest. Friday continues on here on talking Cowboys. Hi, I'm Click Tullison with

Man, that's all, without a doubt, without a doubt, good people, good people. All right, be We'll let you start things off. Eagles at the Lions to start things off. It as a pillow fight between two not so very good teams. Who you got in that one? Well, Well, even though the Lions ain't won a game yet, I still gotta go
with them over Philadelphia. I can't even put myself to go over there and root for the Eagles. So I'm gonna go ahead and say that the Lions gonna with this one. Hey, the Lions have won three straight games against the Philadelphia Eagles. I'm gonna take the Lions in this one as well. So I'm right there with you be Heck, there we go there. Yeah, I'm gonna go Lions. I was born in August. I'm going to Leo's m Is that how you that's how you made that pick?
I like that? Come on, love Dan Campbell, who's my first interview here when he was tight in with the Cowboys. But I'm going Eagles. Sorry, Oh, that's a business decision. There. You gonna setting it up? Are you's got to back up? Yeah? Your wife just takes you. Don't don't do it? Rob the Eagles? All right? Forty nine ers at the Bears, Isaiah, I'll let you start on this one. Man. I'm going West Coast, a little San Francisco action. There are yea area. Heck,
where's where's the game gonna? It's in Chicago? Chicago. With fewer than two hundred passing yards in each game this season, we're giving him any extras only team in the NFL at home, I'm all right, I'm going forty nine ers want Okay, thanks for the stats. Forty nine ers. Yeah, I'm gonna take the Bears. Okay, what you got be I'm gonna go ahead and go with the Niners as well. Like Jimmy Garoppolo might be able to pull something out out of this. I'm gonna go ahead and go with
San Francisco, all right, the Panthers and the Falcons. I'll let Isaiah go last since I did give an extra stat Rob. Who you got on this one? Panthers at the Falcon? Uh? I'll go with the atl Okay, here you go. I'll go with the man. This is a tough one. I'm gonna go with the Panthers on the road. Give me, give me the Panthers figured things out, lost four straight. I don't know if he's starting it. Maybe? Uh, what was it? Patrick Walker, the little yeah XFL quarterback
from the Houston Renegades. Be who you got in that one? I'm gonna go a here. I think I'm gonna go with Matt Ryan and the Falcons. I don't believe in Sam Donald Man. I think he's aggressive, So I'm gonna go with the Falcons. Man and Kyle Pitts looks so good? Did I just pick against Kyle Pitcher? I sure did good inspirations? All right? Heck one, where's it is played in Atlanta? Yep? I'm going with atl So Okay, dirty bird, dirty Bird. You gotta keep up, not the cat atling
six of the last seven games against Carolina. Just so everybody knows now that we've wrapped up the picks. All right, Washington at Denver, the Broncos hosting the football team Washington four and twelve versus non divisional opponents since twenty twenty four and twelve? Rob who you got on this one? Get you up? Give me the Broncos at Broncos at home? All right, Isaiah? The team on the road, yes, right
against the non divisional opponents, right, airston out there. Okay, heck, mom, I'm gonna go with the Broncos y. Yeah, go with the Broncos. Yes, I'm gonna go with the Broncos as well at home. So we'll do that one. B who you got? I gotta side with the man, Isaiah. I think I go ahead and go with the football team. And I also I ran out of games that were really tight, so we're gonna have to pick this game. I feel like this is probably gonna be a clean
sweep across the board. But the home team has been playing well. The Titans on the road at the Colts. Derrick Henry one hundred and nineteen rushing yards per game in six games as a starter against Indianapolis, so he has run all over the Colts defense throughout his career. B will let you start on this one he got or this one I think gonna be closer than most people think. Um, I think I'm gonna go ahead and pick the upset and go with Indianapolis on this one.
Never mind, I do not think this is gonna be across the board. Thank you very much, beat good pick heck one, Ah, you just said how Derek and Henry loves to eat on the coats. So I'm I think I'm going with Derek Henry. I'm going back to my combine days in Indianapolish very nice like that. Yeah, I'm gonna be basic again. Go with the Titans. Now, I'm gonna go with the Titans here as well. Would you run in the combine or did you run? I couldn't run. How about to say you didn't run? I came out.
It wasn't the four ninety three Cooper Rushi definitely wouldn't have been that. They don't call him rush for nothing, all right, Cowboys. At the Vikings, Dallas leads the NFL and points per game in total yards per game this season. Unsure whether or not Dak Prescott will play, But there is no such thing as an ultimatum on this show. It is trade up, win or lose. Pick The Cowboys picked the Vikings, and we're gonna let it happen and say it with your chest. You're on talking Cowboys. B
will start with you who you got on Sunday. Well before I answer that real quick, I'm gonna go ahead and say it with my chest. Man Asaia, stand back, you stand back. You're about to get burnt in the forty yard dash from your boy be Church. I can't wait and line it up. I can't wait. Yes, he's gonna burning you. We all gonna burned out the question. I'm gonna go ahead and go with the Cowboys. They're gonna take this stuff. It's over. Kirk Cousins, ain't got
nothing for us. All the muscles over there as you got, I'm burning you in the forty yard dash, Be from Ohio. It's buried on them because nobody in there, nobody, nobody, nobody in their right mind, nobody in their right mind whatever, being that we got draft Kings, Draft Kings. You would y'all would have to pay out so much money for anybody that picked Barry Church. I can't wait until we lined it up. That's all. This is actually Barry. It's
just Church Church. Yes, the bee from Ohio. This is I don't want to let y'all know what's going about about We don't talk about this that we thirty are you are you gonna car or something? Because I don't worry about what I'm doing. Okay, what just know I hijacked this podcast, would take it a victor that the best they'd have it off. I can't with this dude right here. Man, that was so convincing to about forty
five minutes from Akron. Yeah, I love it, dude. I almost said something about Barry being from Akron and being come up there, and I almost said something that I didn't. That's hilarious. Well, you have too much time. That's fun that's hilarious. Okay, that's that's funny. Right, We're gonna hang up on you now, but thank you for calling in. Takes be in Ohio. You tune into the players mind later like like that sounds like that's Barry. Now you're gonna call him cousin for the rest of the cousin
from Ohio. Right, they're so funny. That's a great job. Good job, Barry all right, Rob, who you got Cowboys, Bikings? Who's playing quarterback? Man, it doesn't matter pick it? Uh, well, you know, with the uncertainty, I'll go with Minnesota. M M. That's good, good, good ones. That's probably go with Can I put in pencil? Mm? No, Okay, who you got, Kyle. I'm gonna do the same thing. I'm just I'm gonna
pick Minnesota just because of the uncertainty of quarterback. And even if Dak Prescott plays, I think stuff game it's gonna be tough regardless, and so I think I'm gonna stay safe here. Business decision. I'm gonna pick the Vikings too with let Him Go Back. I got a weird feeling about this one, but I still felt even with Cooper Rush, I think we find a way. Kellen Moore, Wow, I feel like we find a way. I love that. Yeah, Hamas, it can be done for sure. Yeah. This year Halloween
fell on the weekend. ME and the Dallas Cowboys a trick of treating. I got a guy by the name of Randall Gregory. That's gonna be coming after a guy by the name of Kirkish Cousins Circus and he didn't do very well in primetime games at all. And in my secondary all week, they've been out there practicing, boy, and we're gonna be on feeling in Jefferson like lacefront. We've glue. Oh that's and that's tight. You know that's tight. So I'm going with the Cowboys and hey, another thing,
Adam feelings. What's her name, Cynthia Freeland, Morgan Freeman, Cowboys by ten, let's get it in twenty man, I love it. I can't get over that. I can't believe Barry did like that. What a fun episode of Talking Cowboys. Glad you've got with us five minutes trying to just move it out of the way for Chris Beam in the back. Hope you had fun with us this week here on the show for Rob Phillips, isaiahs Damn back the great heck Ma Harrison, I'm Kyle Yomas heck But what do
we say on Friday? Cowboy? Nason, I hope your team win. This has been a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
