The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. This He's Talking Cowboys, screening live from the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters at the Star in friscoolatow here are Mickey Spagnola, Brian Brons, Rob Phillips, and Bill Jones. And welcome into Talking Cowboys inside s WBC Mortgage Studio. That is Lindsay Draper across the table for me from me. Welcome back. I don't know if people are happy or mad right now, but I'm here.

They're happy. A proud TC alum and a Day one er Mickey Spagnola Back at Mickey, what's up, Mick? Just trying to get this headsett Yeah, we got it. We've got a little technical How are we doing, guys, how are we doing? That's all right, I don't need it. You're doing fine. You're doing fine. Welcome in, Mack, Welcome into Talking Cowboys. On a rainy Thursday, bad rainy Thursday. Here at the Start in Frisco. I ran past three accidents this morning. Is that right? In a half hour

drive or any of them? Amari Cooper hurting his name, Oh no, but there was a lady on a stretcher, getting ready to get it in the MS. Boy, yeah, boy, it's not what you want. No, people just slow down if you're local. Thanks everybody on Periscope for the welcome. I'm so popped. It's been a minute since you've been on the show. We love having you as always a minute. Yeah, probably a year. It's been a long time. I'm a backup, you know. I'm like a strong bench player. Anybody needs me,

I will step up. Darry and Thompson filling in really good last week against the Giants. Just like that. She's known as microwave. Vinnie Johnson. Yeah, Pistons back in the day, immediate offense, right, Bill Jones doing his TV thing today. Brian brought us not here today. By the way, I peeked in on the TV they're taping right now. Every one of them has a dark black code on and I looked in there. It's like a bunch of undertakers in there. Is that like the uniform for the show.

I don't know, but they all wore the same thing Vikings on Sunday Night. That's what they're getting at. I got a prediction already. We can get to that we'll get to that. We can get to that as well. We might get to a little game that Lindsey came up with a week ago that I'm all about games. Mickey tells me every day he wishes we played more games on the air. Does bar games? We got a

bar game today? Where's the beer? I would love that, But that's that's reserved for the happy hour on Wednesday nights. Go check that out last night. And we had a good happy It was great, right. Everson Walls is wonderful. I told him he needs to do more stuff. He is so interesting and so funny and uh and he's and he's very perceptive about what's going on with the team. And he's not afraid to say it. Yeah. Yeah, I mean you know when you get to that point in

your former career or whatever. It's not a career now, but yeah, he's he's unfiltered. I love it. We're thinking about mixing him in the pregame live mix. Yeah, absolutely open that he's good. What What was his thoughts on the team? Oh, he he likes it. He thinks they're awfully good. Yeah, they just need to play like it from the jump, from yes first quarter, just the whole game. You know that the three games they lost, they probably feels like they shouldn't have lost. Um and I it

was funny. I gave Cory a homework signment. Somebody goes, he's not your intern anymore. I got Corey Majors from the fan. He was on last night too, Yeah, along with Nick and I and Shannon nice Um. But when when Wall said he finished, I mean we knew what he finished with his career with fifty seven interceptions, I said, how many years do the leath You think we have to go back and add up team interceptions to get

to fifty seven, and my guess is at least ten years. Yeah, I mean how many of they had in the last five six seven? You know five a year? Man, there was one year Jeff Heath led him with two. Yeah. I think it was NFC Defensive Player of the Week. Xavier Woods leads the team right now with two. Yeah, and he got him in the last two games. And I looked it up. Um, I think it's the first time since December of last year they've had multiple takeaways

in consecutive games. And they always say it comes in bunches, So maybe maybe that's the turning point. I mean, Jason Garrett said the other day, this is the thing that getting to elite level, this is the next step. Lens. What if they had like eight now in two games the Eagle seven, They've got twelve of the season, and all of a sudden, now the middle of the seven rise. I must have miscounted and going back and watching when

the Cowboys had that interception early on in the season. Cheeto, cheeto, Yeah, right right on the sideline. Yeah, that is when I made up in my mind that that's what this team is missing, period, because when you get an interception, not not only it's force fum will take away anything, but when you get an interception. I watched the sideline and they literally came on glued, and not only you're giving your offense an extra chance, but the momentum that this

team never has. That momentum. It's not like, you know what, that was a bad possessional offense. These guys are going to come out and take the ball away and we're gonna get it back down. That that's just you don't think that way with this team because it doesn't happen frequently. That's when I realized that's the missing piece. You need those takeaways, you need that juice and this defense when

they do it, I mean, it's unreal, it's unstoppable. So I see other teams do it, Like when Pat Mahomes was out, the Chiefs defense came up big, gotta takeaway they want. You know, it's just like, wow, that is it's so much bigger than you think it is. I think that Philly game was this team's max but maybe not even max potential, but exactly what they can be. You win by twenty seven, you start several drives deep into the other team's territory and all of a sudden.

Now we talk about slow starts and all that, if you're not having to go seventy five yards every time, your offense can be that much more efficient for sure. All right, let's let's get to some news of the day. The Cowboy's practicing indoors because it is rainy outside here at the start, Mick, we got some injury updates. We do one on a Maury Cooper. Mary Cooper had a MRI on his knee yesterday, so I'm assuming that meant he was very limited in practice, which was a limited

practice anyway. They had him this morning visiting with the doctor, so they were waiting to get the final results on the MRI. I would imagine he probably doesn't practice today. If he does, it's going to be very limited. I was told though that he should be able to They should be able to have him ready for the game on Sunday. So they're very hopeful. They're camp Fleming's out again.

He may be out another week even after this. So with that calf injury and Jeff Heath ended up with those twelve stitches in his knee that's limitating how much he can run. They're trying to do whatever they can to get him to the game on Sunday. So a little bit of a concern there and Layton vander esh My understanding is should be good to go for the

game on Sunday. It sounds good. That's progress. Jeff Heath with the stitches, it was twelve, right, twelve stitches, and he's got a little shoulder problem going on also, but it's more they feel like they can control that in kind of get him through games. Um, but uh, yeah, the stitches will probably limit how much he's able to do running around when there's contact out there. By the way, eight five five to two ninety seven is the number if you want to join us. Also, Lenz is going

through pair scope, So lam booty woo. If you're out there, are you scoping up? Are you scoping over there today? Bringing us potato chips? Look at that? Well, Fred's next door, so Savage get him for Freddy um and here comes lunch. So the Amari. You know, he's had multiple things he's been dealing with since training camp. Does that concern you guys at all that over the course of the season,

it's been the foot, it's been the ankle. Now the knee bruise that that bothered him during the Giants game, you guys concern with it? I know Mickey felt like he's there's they're optimistic he can play. Yeah. One thing I do like is how honest he is with us in the locker room about it. It's like, no, you know it's sixty percent and the next week actually know

that the heel is done. It's just my ankle. Nolley like he will come out and tell us, or he'll do like he did in the Jets game and run his route and then just step out of bounds and be like I'm out I'm not going to play don punches. You're right, Yeah, I think the encouraging thing is is that he came out of the game for I don't know, was it a series, maybe two series, and then he came back and played. Yeah, right, right right. If you can do that, then you're not totally debilitated. Do you

think maybe something flared up and that's why. And I don't know if it's a bruise, and if they're mr eying it, it's got to be more than a bruise, right, Maybe he has a loose piece of cartilage in there, or meniscus or something that they're swelling that's floating around. Yeah, so they got to be careful on that. But yeah, it sounded like, you know, they felt hopeful that he'd be there to you know, get in the game. You know, I need to double check this before I said that.

When Lindsay was talking about the importance of those takeaways, remember we had talked about it last week that they had in those first six games, they had never started a possession on the impotent side of the fifty yard line, and then against Philadelphia they ended up with four possessions on their side of the fifty in this pass game. Three more against the Giants. So after you go six games with none, you go two games with seven. It's

rather remarkable. With turnover takeaways, we'll do for you, no question, especially if you can get one in the end zone, like Jordan Lewis did at the end. That helps. And you know he's his snap count continues to rise, and I think that's making a lot of fans happy, even though Anthony Brown brings him something on defense as well. So well, they just limited. I mean that that was Anthony Brown's first game back right after the hamstring injury.

He missed what two games and got knocked out of one another, so they just used him when in dying, and they didn't play that much dying, but when they did, he was the other cornerback on the field in the slot, while Lewis ended up starting the game. So we'll see where it goes from here. How's the Vikings injury front looking. I think Adam Adam feeling looks to be the biggest question.

Say've got a hamstring and he did not practice yesterday, and they did practice yesterday, by the way, so they had a couple of guys limited, but no one of major significance. I don't think they had a odin Jibo. I can't say it a fitty their defense backup defensive end. He didn't. Can you say it one more time? Right again? Oh fitty fitty? How about that? Try the last name odd Nick? Both This needs to be a dry He

did not practice with a shoulder injury. That's right. So yeah, okay, both teams relatively healthy, although we've got to keep an eye on Amari and Vanderesh. That's a good sign. Although you know Sean Lee has played more and more the last couple of weeks because of lv's injury. How do you see that? You guys, who's injury? Lv? E? Call you call him Layton? Catch that yesterday? That's pretty good.

That's pretty good. Jason was like, I call him Layton l. He's gonna They're gonna the Vikings like going two tight ends. They play a lot of standard offense. So um, I think there's room for all three of those guys to play. And then we'll see what happens when they go nickel. Uh, if they go to the Sean Lee along with vander Esh in the nickel, or if they limit vander Esh from the Nickel, uh, since it'll be his first game back, so it'll be interesting to see how they manage the snaps.

But I just think you'll see more of Sean Lee out there because of what the Vikings do, like to run the ball behind two tight ends. But then again, maybe he gives vander esh a little bit of a blow so he didn't have to go out there and play seventy plays or however many of they play. And in the Nickel, maybe he goes in and Jalen Smith gets a break there because before they were giving him a break and he was a stand up guy on the defensive line. And now with Michael Bennett, I don't

think they have to do that. I think it's better to have Michael Bennett out there. And our Nick Eatman yesterday asked during the press conference to Jason, is it hard when you have a guy like Shan Lee, who now you know, he played so great, played so much and you have to pull him back And Jason didn't

hold anything back. He said, absolutely, it's hard. And I don't know, I kind of I'm the momentum trained person, like I'm like, Okay, Layton, why don't you just maybe rest more a little bit and we'll see what Shaun Lee continues to do. I mean that was I did the pre and postgame show with Barry Church, who played alongside Shawn Lee, and he was just like, Wow, this is the Shawn Lee of my day back in the day.

And Brian has really been harping on Sean's like to your point, he's one of these momentum guys, like he needs to get in the flow of a game, flow of a defense, see what defense or offenses you're trying to do, and he gets better and better. I mean sometimes you know, you see that with running back sometimes they got to get into a flow. I just I think there's a way to get him all three on the field, and because van Vikings will get him all

three of the field. Yeah, and vander esche start. You know, he's the future of this thing. And I think he's played well. It's just he hasn't necessarily made those big time plays behind the line of scrimmage that really got people howling and doing all that last year a lot of howling. Not not as much howling, but he's yeah, make sure, but he's been productive. Um, well, isn't he like leading the team or did ja Jalen took over because he's just those games. Yeah, he had sixty six tackles.

He was leading the team until he missed the games. I don't think there's any doubt this is probably the deepest position on the team, and then you got to see it. Yeah last week. Absolutely, and we didn't even I don't think we've touched on Joe Thomas, who played a little bit in the game as well and is filled in for Sean. But just remember that Sean was back at his old position. Oh yeah, and the weak side linebacker spot is supposed to do what he did.

You're supposed to be the active guy. You're uncovered and you run to the ball. It's very hard to stand out as a I mean, name me the best strong side linebacker. Strong Side linebackers are just kind of there, right, and they don't play that much because they come out on nickel. So especially the way offenses are now, yeah, yeah, I mean everybody's playing three y. Yeah. I mean that position was made for Sean Lee, right, like, yeah, the most brilliant guy. He lives in this building. Film is

his thing. I mean that he knows what guys are going to do before they do. It before the snap. I mean, he is made for that position period, and that's why they moved him over there to begin with, was to cover him up a little bit more and allow him to flow to the ball and make plays. Yeah, Vanderesh does the same thing, and could he could play all three positions two if something happens to Jalen, he can go in the middle if they want. You know, it's uh, he's just so valuable even if he's what

thirty thirty three years old something like that. He's kind of like Witten on the other side of the ball, you know. He said after the game, I feel like I'm playing in high school again, just having fun out there. When people are saying that you turned back the clock. Something's working and I think, you know, Witten had a year off, so we've seen that a little bit more run after catch from him. But Sean Lee is I mean, that's all anyone's saying. It's like, you look vinted Shaun Lee. Yeah,

I think something's clicking. Big time performance from him. Anything popping on periscope, Lots of questions about the offensive line, lots of shouts out to our man Brian broad Us offensive line Mickey once you've gone back and watched the game. Was it just because the Giants are not good? I mean I think the Cowboys have played not good teams already this season and they haven't played as good as

they did on Yeah. I don't think the Giants defensive front is all that great, but they did what they should have done. You know, they dominated him. I mean they had huge holes you could have driven a truck through. And even Zeke admitted it. You know that those guys were mauling them up from Yeah, he didn't want hy credit makes it makes my job easy. So yeah, I thought they played awfully well. And think about it, they're probably a little healthier too, especially the tackles because they

came back and played that Philadelphia game. They played through something when they were should have said I shouldn't say through it. Yeah, and that and that speaks to those guys their character that they wanted to be out there. Now, this will be a much bigger test going up against this Vikings front. When you have Daniel Hunter with eight and a half sacks and Everson Griffin the other defensive end with five and a half. Those two guys have

fourteen sacks. Now I'm a little skeptical on this number of quarterbacks are thirty five and thirty four? Well what are the Cowboys? Well, I don't know, but that's sixty nine quarterback hits in nine games by two guys. This is probably the best ten him of edge rushers they'll face so far this season, without question. And Hunter got two sacks against the Cowboys in twenty sixteen when that

was a rock fight between those two teams. Seventeen so ugly, and I got reminded and I was thinking, this was the second time that Mike Zimmer was going to be a head coach against the Cowboys. But he didn't coach in that game. If you remember, he had the eye surgery and he had to stay home. That's right, revenge season, Yeah, Sunday night, and so he wasn't able to be on the field that game, which I'm sure just absolutely killed him,

knowing him and how competitive he is. After I saw who Hugh Freeze in a hospital bed up in the press box coaching, I realized how much these coaches want to be at you. You know that that was right. I know that first sand right, No, at firsthand. But there are just some funny things that you see that you're coaches will do oh okay, like you're in a hospital bed in the in the upstairs, in the booth, got it with the window of view, yep, playing on the bed car that was. Did they least kind of

prop them up a little? Yes, there's there's a clip of a coach walking through the fifty yard line and he looks up and goes like this and raises his hand in the air and they pan up to the booth and Hugh Freeze, I think it's Freeze, am I right, he's got his bist rays from a hospital. Bad that Sorry, I got up top big. Be your best, regardless of circumstance. That's what they always say. So yeah, and zim I

wrote about it yesterday. Vikings defense for the last five years or five five of the last six years, they've been top ten defense, and they've had a lot of stability on defense. You mentioned some of the guys, Mick. Their linebackers are solid. They may have the best safety tannem in the league. Um, you can't get off to a slow start against this defense, I don't think. Oh, and you better not turn the ball over either, because play of the game. Yeah, you know, while their their

offense has kind of sputtered at times. You know, the games they they've lost. The only game they scored some points when they've lost is this past week against Kansas City, but they did score twenty three, got beat twenty six twenty three. But the other games were sixteen six and twenty one sixteen. So again, if you can, you know, manage to score some points, uh, you certainly help out your defense against a team that has some weapons on offense with Delvin Cook, and you know, Kirk Cousins can

can do a number on you. Except the Cowboys have had his number during his career with the Redskins. So is it Kirk Cousin or was it who he was playing with? But they did go six and one against him when he was with the Redskins. All right, let's sicker first break on Talking Cowboys eight five five two two ninety seven is the number hit up periscope. my gosh, bring your footballs. Don't for them at me like everyone does every week. Yeah, watch it on the nine routes. It's always the dad's yeah, you know, the kids. My husband came by one time and he was like, I legitimately think people think they're going to get picked up out here. I think this is their tryout, like full blown sweating tearaways nine routes up on set. It's wild, So don't do that, but come hang out. I think

mcclay's watching from the way. There's like an ongoing camera to just you know, maybe free agent out here from Frisco. Every now and then we get a mail back question about about check out my mixtape. Oh you don't know how many people used to walk up to the ranch before there was like security, even a little bit of security. They used to walk in and it's like, okay, where's

the scouting department? I need to try out? Oh my goodness, Yeah, there's every now and then there's a guy with a sign outside, and I'll always stop and talk and give props because that's gotta throw some respect on that. Sure, why not one day they all they all talking, crowd runs me off. They can all still run a four four forty two. Oh yeah, legends in their own mind? Do you included? Do you realize that back in the day, like through the eighties, they used to have an open

tryout every year in the summer at Texas Stadium. I've asked if we can do one, they could watch it. It was like you had to pay like I don't know, maybe twenty five dollars or something, and you got a T shirt and you bring your spikes and shorts and they time him in the forty and put him in drills and see if they found somebody that fell through the cracks. It was why that's why fourth and Long was so successful, because everybody's dream, you know. Jesse Holly

shouts out, and I think when Jimmy got here. They did it like one year and then he was like, seriously, we can't be wasting our time like this. Well, you gotta respect the hustle man. By the way Kirk Cousins numbers against the Cowboys, I got this from the great Kaden Gates. Cowboys are six and one all time against him. I got that right. Twelve touchdowns, five picks. He'll sling it down the field. He will sling it down the field.

He's been sacked thirteen times too. I think Tank Lawrence has his most sacks against Cousins more than any other quarterback in the NFL per his career, oh thirt The Cowboys of sacked him thirteen to Yeah, he's been sacked thirteen times. He's taken the care of the ball better though this year only three picks sixteen Dalvin helping out. That helps to have the most productive running back in the league to date. I wonder if that'll add any juice for Zeke. It seems like, you know, Doug Peterson

kind of ticked him off a little bit. I don't know what ticked him off last week. He running angry again. You already said yesterday in the locker room. He acknowledged. He said, there's been guys in the league that have been better than me this year, which you don't. I mean, a guy as great as he is, and in my opinion, he's the best player on the team pound for pound. You don't always hear a guy acknowledged that. But he said, that's so, that's okay. They feel like they're they're finding

a groove in the run game. Half well, if the Cowboys don't open the floodgates with Delvin Cook and he has his normal hundred yard performance, he'll be right back in the rushing title race. And he and what is he now top? He's like one hundred and fifty behind, but he's played nine and Cook's played nine games, so that's one hundred game away from and and he wasn't in Cobbo for training camp. Yeah, there you go. Yeah, absolutely, And there's probably something to it. Took a little time,

and I asked Zach Martin about it. He said, we're getting back to we're running some plays we're most comfortable with in the running game, and we're just there's just a better flow that Zeke has said about it, and it's probably is a thing takes a little time, even with as many years as they played together. Oh yeah, if you talked to Nate, Nate, would you know the first couple weeks into this season, he was like, it's

gonna take some time for Zeke. I mean he's not going to just run back in here, and I mean we are a week was its ten week ten of the season. So this kit in his stride right now, and I just think about it. If you just watched the game last week, he was even more patient than normal, and he had a couple more little stutter cuts in the backfield before he hit his stride or went back the other way. So he was kind of feeling it and he just had a better feel for what was

going on. And so yeah, if you look at all the little cuts he made, not the big ones, the little ones he made to wait for a hole, to wait for a block. He was really really good at that last week. And the guy's up front getting to the second level and pulling and getting on the move in space like it was his beautiful thing to watch. Yeah, even screenplays if you catch the ball Tony Pollard, oh yeah,

it was. It was a rough start for Tony. That was a touchdown that was a rough start kickoff, opening kickoff. That's going to happen, right, Like from the people I've talked to, they're like, Okay, calm down, that's gonna happen. He's a rookie, rookie, Yeah, that's gonna happen. Tried to do it too fast, and he was running with the ball before he caught it on that screen and he probably saw what we all saw. There was open green space the whole way with three blockers out front, step

ahead of himself. Yeah, yep, yep, we've seen Amara Cooper do it. I thinks he's got a touchdown, not focusing on the ball. Uh. You guys want to take a phone call? Sure, a periscope too. Okay, let's let's start off with our buddy Nebbi and what up in Silver Spring? What's up? Man? Uh? Hi? Everyone? Uh a gut feeling. Is Amari Cooper going to play on Sunday? And and who's who's who'sn't under who'sn't under the radar? Guy who has the step up for us? Uh? In order in

order for us to beat the Vikings? Uh? I've got one, uh Malik a college good one? Yeah? Uh take take care, thanks for being patient with me, and have a great week. Bye. Thanks Bud, good feeling. Yes, I think he plays on Sunday Amari. Yes, all right, I'll let you guys handle the other one, the radar guy for Sunday night. Why not? Yeah? How has Malik played? Do you guys so far in this contract? Here last two games, I feel like it's maybe his best two games of the season. He's really

come on these last couple of games. Yeah. And uh, And that's why I was going to say, well, is he under the radar because the radar was pretty high these last two games at least, um, gosh, there's no one under the radars Blake Jarwin under the radar. Heck, yes, louder, Mickey louder. From the people on periscope, we need more Blake Jarwin. They're asking for that and me, yeah, me and the guys on periscope and gals, he's getting what twenty five snaps a game something like that. See, here's

here's here's what it comes down to. Uh. And like everybody wants a yell for that, right, But who was the leading receiver in the game. It was Jason Witt, the goat eight catches for fifty nine yards or whatever it was. When when when Jarwin can excel, is they get in matchup problems defense. I know you're right, because he can if they want to cover, if you go to tight ends and you're gonna try and cover them with a linebacker, that's probably not going to work out

so well. And then it doesn't work out when he has a head of steam and Genora's Jenkins doesn't oh lay on it. That was the most embarrassing at a tackle. I think I've never seen that. He put one arm out and then did ola like you know people and they didn't want anything to do with him. But anyway, Yeah, and so he can get down the field, but you got to get the right matchups in the game, and you got to block right, and the whole thing's got to work out. But this too tight end offense has

been very effective. I think blocking too. You know, everybody wants me rewide and sling it around and okay, fine, but his blocking is improved, and when they go too tight it causes a mismatch for opposing defenses. I'll go Randall Cobb, don't he's not under the radar, but let's get him a touchdo touch John's taken away this season? Get him Randall Cob in the end zone. He's played Minnesota many times in his career. I just feel like he and Dag are really close. They're close on having

a breakout game, especially if a Cob. Yeah, we count and Jordan Lewis is under the radarsolutely well not if he's starting. Well, that's that's what I'm getting at, right, Yeah, what are we thinking about this? Because this is what I'm thinking. I'm thinking. I did a story on this this past offseason, went straight up Christopher Shard. Is this guy you're exception to the rule or not? Is he going to play more or not? He said he is.

He's my exception to the rule. He's five to ten, doesn't look like all my other guys who trot out there every time he makes it. What is it like six turnovers from him and how many starts like nine? Just around the ball a lot. And I'm not even gonna say it's lucky. Like when when the Cowboys drafted this guy and I looked at the college film like all of us did, like there is some insane talent here in athleticism. And he's very, very smart as well.

I don't know how much longer we're gonna have Jordan Lewis hanging out on the sideline. Well, if you know, you get Daniel Jones to throw you a pass and Larry Brown interception, he got beat the guy through a bad pass right to him. Not this last game, the Giants gig, the Eagles gig. Yeah, yeah, it went through it right to him. Give the man some credit, but no, I'll give him credit for being able to scoop see him from everyone else. I want turnovers, and I don't

care who does it. I see turnovers from when he's out there. Thank you, Kyle got just get it. I don't. I don't know if he's some magic like um combination when they get out there, or if it's it's It doesn't seem like pure luck anymore though. Maybe he's Maybe he's unassuming out there, Maybe he sneaks around. Well, he's got a fourth of the interceptions. Yeah, and I think he's got one. And in the Christmas card subscriptions in the mail for you, PFF, they had him rated very

high this pass game. Oh very good. Yeah, yeah, imagine that he's doing something right. He's doing something right right, he's earned more playing time. His coverage was much better in this game than it had been previously. Yeah, all right, good stuff. Let's wrap it up next on Talking Cowboys got one callar holding, and we got periscope still popping off. That's next on the show. But I mean it is a day, it is a daily state, boll And, you did pretty good. You've done good this week. I think it's Brian's not staring you down this week yet and making you nervous. And he flew right nervous. You're doing great. What are you looking up? I was

just looking at Jordan's stats from the game. Had six tackles. Usually when a cornerback has a lot of tackles, that means somebody catching the ball in front of him. See he has this list In the break, I told Mickey, I need to know the truth. What is it? The truth? No passes defense? What's the because he's not in very much? No, he started every nickel. I mean he's Byron Jones have because teams, teams don't pick on Byron Jones, right, So the lack of PPUs that means he's not making plays.

He is making plays. Got four. Get to the bottom of this, nick fella. I need to know your feelings. Sort through them tonight. He's got four. There's something there. He's got a list. He has a list of Anthony Bys got four, Noah Brown, Jordan Lewis, Jeremy Minsy. When he was here, then just guys. Jordan Lewis doesn't fit in with the other two. Okay, good, he shouldn't. Okay, so he's hanging out on the middle list. He's much

better than those, Okay, mints. The only reason everybody liked Mintsy was because he was in the locker room every day and get interviews. I do love interviews, right, He let the team in sacks one year six, Well that's if de Marcus Lards finishes with six this year, you're gonna say he stole money. Do you want to open that cannon works right now? It's eleven forty talking about two different planets. Yeah, let's let's not solar system cowboys. I just don't want to hear that he led the

team in sacks. What's on? What's on the scope? Lens a lot of questions about Cheeto and Stefan Diggs. Don't we think the Cowboys back end is going to look like against Kirk Cousins and his guys. The Cowboys will play their sides, So it depends on what to Minnesota where they want to line those guys up right, which side Dig's going to be on? Uh? And I would imagine they'll play a lot of man, but they'll mix in some zone on this too. Try to confuse Cousins

a little bit. Yeah, and they and they don't. They don't really use their corners to follow guys either. They've kind of stuck to the sides. And that's that's a confidence indicator of Cheeto two as well. I think Cowboys do. And it would be a little bit more a little less difficult. If theeln is not ready to go, it doesn't go to play. He doesn't sound good. He played a few snaps last week, missed the game before, and he just may need some time. I believe they have

a buy after the Cowboys game. The Viking is probably about time for it. Yeah, maybe that's what they're trying to do. And then you got to deal with point Treadwell right and former first round pick if I remember so, Yeah, it doesn't get that much easier. So yeah, I think I think that's the way they play it. And uh and depending on how they're running the ball, you know you may play less man because when you get in man and teams start running on you, you can get

yourself in trouble. All right, let's go back to the phone lines. Jim in Pasadena, you're up next on Talking Cowboys. What's up Jim? Hey guys, how are you thinking? My call? Jordan Lewis tracks the ball so well, he has great ball skills. But I went back and looked at Michigan Take wondering and the same thing you're wondering, why isn't this kid playing? And he doesn't play the deep route. Well,

the receivers just separate from him. They kind of bully him and he doesn't get out of his hips too well, and especially when he's covering them the slot. So when teams figure that out, I think we might find out why he's not in there all the time. I got a question for you guys, fun question, third and long, and you want your NASCAR defensive line. What four kids are you putting in there? For me? It's Florence in Collins and Bennett and I'll let you go. Thanks for

taking my Paul. Thanks Jim. Good. Good thing he agrees with the coaches because we saw it right? Yeah? Yeah? Are you talking about Lewis? Are you talking about the defensive line? Yoh? Yeah, I don't know what you're referring to, Mickey, you come around in the last five minute? Was the defensive line? Ok? Yeah? Do you agree with this the hips assessment on George? I don't know about the hips. I do know about deep crosses that he doesn't keep up with. Yeah, okay, But when they back to Bennett

and what do you say? The NASCAR defensive line? That was my sound effect. Very good. I love it. That's probably what they had in mind when they made the deal. Yes, get another speed rusher on the field. I thought I saw that. What in the game, don't they did? I mean, you saw Bennett go from I think he played a lot of just a fun game. Now, now we get to pick and choose and plug in who we like at that time. I'm I'm with Jim, Yeah, Jim Passata yea.

That's I mean, that's the defensive front you're gonna see, especially in Nickel's situations and You'll see Bennett play a little bit left defensive end and on standard downs to give Lawrence a break. And then they'll move inside and Lawrence will come in and he'll eat on the outside. Everybody eats. Watch out, no loafing. Got one minute to go anything, one minutes if oh for golf, the show's forty five minutes now. I was just digging into Perisco.

Elman's gonna be over. Since I'm not on tomorrow, I'd love to hear your predictions. Can we do that? No, you'll have to listen. Give us your your prediction. I'm going Cowboys, Cowboys one. It's gonna be ugly. It's gonna be a seventeen fifteen to repeat, It's gonna be us. There's gonna be Besteaks, there's gonna be Primetime, there's gonna be black cats everywhere. It's gonna get wild. You gotta pick the click. Besides twenty seven, Nicky, I don't even

know if I can look at you right now. How about how about I think the Cowboys get creative on offense, Like we go back to those early Kellen More days back at the beginning of the season a couple months ago, Skywars Yeah, they just need to slow down those defensive ends. It's gonna be a test retiring take advantage of their ability to get up to field. I think the way those guys were moving though last week the bye week help they're healthier. Did we not have a periscope question,

where's Randy Gregory for our NASCAR defensive line? No? That just that ship is sailed. Nice drop. Kyle's on it right now. Is that a ship or NASCAR? That's NASCAR, that's Nascar. You're saying the ship has sailed sad days. Honestly, not even gonna lie. I thought about putting him in my NASCAR group last at least for this year. We haven't. Don't change people ask us and we just don't have an update on it. Are you guys happy that I didn't bring up all the day talk for the show.

Why what happened? Oh? You know, he just says he's going to start making some calls. He's ready to get back in the groove. And you know, Mari, he's heard and he just had a birthday. I saw depth. Did you talk to him? No, I saw all the tweets. M hmm. Yeah, it's doing well. It seems like he's doing well. Happy birthday. Was his birthday? What is it? What is it? Thirty thirty, the same age, so he's probably thirty, almost thirty. He's getting there. He's getting there,

all right. We're getting towards the end of the week. Linds. Thanks so much for filling. Yes, thank you for doing Come on, this was so much fun. Anytime. We'd love to have you back, all right to your our top choice, coming back when someone's telling you I'm a great six man off the bench.
