Speaker 4

Segment, what was that.

Speaker 3

Our Pickham segment. Later in the show, we've got high five. We're gonna outline five potential players who could immediately help this rushing attack.

Speaker 6

Immediately you came out like the like the rushing, the passing, the pass rush or rushing.

Speaker 4

No like like run game, run game Jets.

Speaker 1

The Jets figured out their pass rush last night, Yes they did.

Speaker 3

They found some some pass rush and they found some good receivers too. What about that catch from Garrett Wilson?

Speaker 7

Amazing to him, shouts to the Jets.

Speaker 4

There's a little there.

Speaker 1

Absolutely not Josh hates the Jets just because of Jets.

Speaker 7

No, just because of Aaron Rodgers that.

Speaker 4

I know nobody on these airwaves.

Speaker 1

I like Aaron. I've always like Aaron. Self thinker, I like self thinkers. I like self thinkers. You're also a that is simply wow, simply.

Speaker 2

Simply being a self thinker, which I am a huge Everybody knows that I do what I do just not conform, which.

Speaker 1

Is completely fine. But that in and of itself doesn't make you, just.

Speaker 2

As a person of himself, doesn't make you automatically make you less of a pos.

Speaker 8

Especially as a man of science. You must hate Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2

I'm not, I just and Plus I'm actually good friends with his brother Luke, so I personally know different. I personally know a lot about him, about that family dynamic that I care to air out because it's not my place.

Speaker 1

So you have a kid. I'm telling you that, dude, Aaron is you need a real piece of work.

Speaker 3

Real Wait, So he has another brother other than Jordan, Luke, Aaron.

Speaker 4

There's there's three.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I didn't know that.

Speaker 2

And what's crazy is Luke. They Luke and Aaron looked exactly like in the face. The only difference is Luke is like six four. He's like, you know what I mean, But it's like Aaron Rodgers face.

Speaker 1

On like that that frame.

Speaker 3

So he must have been the Cooper Manning of the bunch because yeah, but he because he and Aaron and Jordan, and.

Speaker 1

He got more so into the media side of it.

Speaker 2

I met Luke back when I was with this was my early days, in early days of CBO Sports. He we met in Brentwood in the Nashville area and we kicked it off, and I mean we we've been friends ever since. And he Luke is a very good dude, good spirit, big heart, and just some of the things that he tell me about, like the dynamic between Aaron and his siblings, Aaron and the parents and everything.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I can't get him. I get it. Yeah, I don't know that stuff, So I can't have that same stance that's I'm not even getting to the suite just as a human being.

Speaker 4

Right right, right, No, there are so many kind of like kind of like.

Speaker 1

Brett Fak as a human from that one.

Speaker 7

Human Banks funny thing about those Packers quarterbacks. Yeah, you know, you know, garbage humans.

Speaker 4

I can tell you this is gonna.

Speaker 1

Keep it going.

Speaker 4

This is gonna be an interesting show. I feel like everybody's in a silly, goofy movie, freaking go Kyle. Uh, let's go to news and notes. Patrick, No, s Walker, what's going on?

Speaker 1

Let's do it.

Speaker 2

Brandon Aubrey, we talked about that he's back at practice, so good stuff there, back in his regular regimen.

Speaker 1

Uh deron blind at practice yet still d n p.

Speaker 5

Uh.

Speaker 2

Well, he's he's on the roster, but we did talk about that doesn't mean he's guaranteed for the Falcons, and he's not trending in the right direction, nor is Michael Parsons. Michael was out on the sideline doing rehab work with Britt Brown on yesterday, so he's making progress, but that Michael is also not currently trending toward playing. So there's two all pros to all pro. Still still out, still down, still still do. Yeah, not great, Bob n GB. I still got d Law on that. I r too pro bowler.

At least the positive news is we're nearing d Law's potential activation from that twenty one day windows, so he and Brandon Cooks we're getting close to that. Cowboys got to see the pro Bowler. Yeah, well no, Brandon Cooks, believed or not, he's never made a Pro Bowl, believe it or not. Insanity, that's ridiculous. Yeah, you know, Pro Bowl is popularity, all pro is what Really.

Speaker 1

That's the thing, man, go go ahead. He's he just goes about his business. And unfortunately when you just go about your business, people don't take notice.

Speaker 7

Yeah, man, you're not making headlines.

Speaker 2

And a man now you're right, a man that has that many thousand yard seasons with that many different teams and quarterbacks and has never been to the Pro Bowl. That tells you that the Pro Bowl doesn't have as much credibility as it should. That being said Zach Martin, good news. He returned to practice, so he was all there. He was absolute practice with a shoulder injury, which, like I said, probably probably would have been a rost day for him anyway. But mar was back back in business Laval.

Joseph also returned to practice, So there you go, so some positive news there.

Speaker 1

Cayln Carson is a curious case.

Speaker 2

And the reason I say that is because last week he was full, full, full, and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and then he was inactive. I talked to Kaylen on yesterday. He said that he has basically his full range of motion back for the most part, so he's expecting that he will play on Sunday, but that is ultimately going to be determined by the training stature, right, so let me preface it that way. But having spoken with the player, the player says he feels good and he should be

on the field on Sunday. Let's hope that holds true. Because here's the other thing. Trayvon Diggs has not practiced yet this week. Okay, now, I'm not saying that for it to be ominous, but the facts are the facts, and the facts are that Trayvon Digg. So for the calf injury, now he did he didn't realize when it happened, so at least it couldn't be too bad and he kept playing through it. Must be a contusion, yeah, it could be a bruise. He woke up Monday morning and

was like, hey, what is this. Well, it's just told you how to practice. Happens to make sure that you can play against the Falcons. Hopefully that remains the case. He seems in good spirits. He's passing out those nuts to media. Yeah, I gotta see the video see it.

Speaker 4

But if Trayvon Diggs, they were technically named the that was the name of the nut brand.

Speaker 1

Those are these he was he was trying to say, and those are these.

Speaker 2

Assuming Trayvon dig plays, Digs plays, he will be less than one hundred percent. Okay, so now you're talking about a less than one hundred percent at this point of the season, but even more so significant. Uh, I guess the guys who've been inactive all season, they.

Speaker 1

Should be pretty pretty spry.

Speaker 3

Andrew Booth's probably close to one hundred percent this year.

Speaker 2

Again, again, that's that's the GOS. So your secondary is kind of really against it.

Speaker 3

So if let's say, okay, Dron doesn't play, which looks to be possible, if not likely, Uh, Caylen Carson does not play, which is about fifty fift possible but not like a O's on ir and Trayvon Diggs does not play, which looks unlikely.

Speaker 1

He'll likely play. He will likely play, Yeah, but he's dealing with a bruised wheel.

Speaker 3

But let's say all three of them, worst case scenario, we just got through Halloween last night, nightmare scenario.

Speaker 4

All three are not able to play.

Speaker 1

What is your starting three going?

Speaker 2

You're back Jordy Lewis, Jordan Lewis and the song Andrew Booth and you're probably going to kem On Hall or Josh Butler from the practice squad?

Speaker 9

Is he is?

Speaker 1

He is out on I R Yeah, I like it. Actually a big fan of Isy, so yeah, respect is he didn't think about that?

Speaker 4

There's been so many conversations.

Speaker 6

Would you take that's your guy who has over Booth? Yes, that would be the question. Yes, is over Booth?

Speaker 1

That's the question.

Speaker 3

I think it's film Booths speaking specifically because he hasn't really played much. But Booths film shows me let's try let's try push both aggressive.

Speaker 2

So then give me Jordy Lewis and it's still over. Josh Butler showed some things and uh in training camp practices. Keim On Hall showed me things in preseason games. So I take keim On Hall in that, But I mean you you likely have to elevate both. To be honest with you, you need for depth, you need both Butler

and and kem On. But nonetheless, Cowboys are really banged up in the secondary and they're going up against a passing attack in Atlanta that doesn't care no, because they're going to smoke Nope.

Speaker 8

And you're going to throwing up against the noon kirk Cousins, which is another nightmare in itself.

Speaker 3

Kirk Kirko Kirko at Noonan, What what is your favorite matchup this week?

Speaker 1

Out of that?

Speaker 3

Because there's one matchup specifically that Kirk Cousins is dealing with and it's his former head coach, Mike Zimmer is the defensive coordinator.

Speaker 4

I haven't talked about that yet.

Speaker 3

How how does that affect things whenever it's a defensive coordinator facing his former quarterback.

Speaker 4

Does that affect things in a positive way, Isaac?

Speaker 1

You would think so?

Speaker 4

Or a negative one?

Speaker 1

You would think so.

Speaker 6

But I don't really have the confidence right now in our defensive efficiency.

Speaker 4

So why did your voice go up and on?

Speaker 6

I just I get there sometimes again, sometimes I get there, you know, when I'm bothered.

Speaker 3

In our defensive efficiency, it's not too good.

Speaker 6

So yeah, typically I would think that would be an advantage coach advantage coach. In this particular instance, I don't think it's an advantage. I don't think it adds any value actually at all. Kirk Cousins has never been surrounded by this much talent.

Speaker 1

That's true. That's just that's a fact.

Speaker 4

Just to clarify that. You're talking about the depth in general.

Speaker 1

Collect he's had. He's had some dudes, he's had.

Speaker 4

Some Stepan Diggs and Justin Jeff as.

Speaker 6

A whole, as a complete unit, he has not had this much alcun Cook in the backfield.

Speaker 1

Yep. I not like that, not like this, not like this, just adding some.

Speaker 3

Emphasis on no, for sure, little exercise.

Speaker 2

I mean he has some dudes, don't, don't get me wrong, but here and there, here and there, but never collectively. You could you could throw a stone at a position at a skill position in Atlanta right now offensively, and it's probably a dude or one that's close to being a dude online.

Speaker 6

And there hasn't been enough that's been mentioned about this office a line, and this office line is freaking solid.

Speaker 3

Yeah, four first rounders up front, Yeah, they're just rolling.

Speaker 8

They to reiterate Kyle's point from yesterday, it's like there are Detroit Junior or what was that, yeah, Tuesday or Wednesday something.

Speaker 3

Detroit Wednesday, Detroit Light, Detroit Light because they're not Detroit.

Speaker 4

But but the way that they're built, you have a two.

Speaker 3

Headed monster running back with the sonic and knuckles as we talked about with Detroit.

Speaker 4

You've got a high end wide receiver.

Speaker 3

One Drake London's turning into that in the league, and you've got multiple guys that can catch the ball underneath that, and then you've got a pass catching tight end that can.

Speaker 8

They don't have son and knuckles, but they do have shadow in b John.

Speaker 6

Robbins exactly, tailspin shadows. But who are you most concerned about on the offense side of the ball for the Atlanta Falcons, John Robinson, Yeah, hands down, it's Yeah, it's going to all go aways.

Speaker 8

Be another star running back, another heavy hitter. I mean I think that's going to be.

Speaker 6

Really you think they're giving him the ball the way in which you would expect them to. I'll as much as they as they could.

Speaker 4

If I were half, I would give him the ball.

Speaker 2

Because they don't have to, right, So I mean it also extends his durability as well, the fact that he can, you know, go combo with Lger like that, and the fact that they have a passing game that can compliment that. It doesn't have to be a situation like you know, Cowboys twenty sixteen where you kind of run Zeke and run Zeke and run season runs Zeke, or even more recently more recent seasons with Zeke where you run and run and run him and then here comes like December

spring PCL and he's dealing with that. So, I mean the Falcons they're playing it smart with Bijon. They're like, yeah, we could hand him the ball.

Speaker 1

A bunch of times, or we could guarantee that he's still fresh.

Speaker 3

In a degree, you're saying that there's an NFL team with a capable running back then saving him to the important parts of the season because the rest of their offense is so good that is correct, and so deep that is exact, that they can save him and still in football game.

Speaker 1

That's what they have a fully on.

Speaker 4

I didn't know that was the thing it is.

Speaker 1

I could you know you could do that in this is anybody else get the sense of this this is going to be a shootout.

Speaker 3

No, absolutely not.

Speaker 8

You know, if it's a game, if it is a gay, if Dak Prescott is humming, then absolutely it's I need.

Speaker 1

To be a shootout.

Speaker 2

I'm actually with IRS on this the more I think about it over the course of these past several days. For example, so we talked about all the weaponry and the firepower that the Falcons present offensively, and we talked yesterday about they have some dudes in the secondary, but their scheme in the secondary will allow you to get some some plays and now hopefully you get somebody. I have talked about that, and we've also talked about but not to the greatest degree. This is the worst pass

rush as far. This is the first worst pass rush you face all season most likely, right, I think their past rush rate or their pressure rates.

Speaker 1

Like two point two percent or something like that. It's thirty second ranked. It's below the Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 2

So if you can't if you can't by time against this offense, this defensive front, if you can't make chunk plays against a team that's playing covers.

Speaker 1

Then what are we doing? So my point is I'm actually I'm with USA on this one.

Speaker 2

This is a game that the defense against the Falcons actually matches up pleasantly against what the Cowboys need to happen to really find that spark. So if you talk about transferring the fourth quarter electricity between d and Seedy over to the.

Speaker 1

Next game, this is the perfect game for that to possibly happen.

Speaker 6

So, yeah, maybe I don't think that Dallas can stop their offense from scoring, and I think this is a perfect defense for Dallas's offense to get going.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I agree with you on both of those factors. I just don't trust the offense.

Speaker 1

To get going. And I think for it, you trust the defense get going. Uh, you have more faith. I have more faith in the off with the personnel right now.

Speaker 4

I trust I hear he have faith.

Speaker 8

Exactly, I would argue I trust the defense more to get going because I've seen it a different You've actually seen you see it where in Pittsburgh. I've seen in Pittsburgh. I saw in the first half against the forty nine ers.

Speaker 4

You want to gain you saw it in Pittsburgh. See saw it.

Speaker 6

In Pittsburgh against a quarterback who did not want to I could not actually throw the ball just saind.

Speaker 1

I sinked it. I seen it, so that's what you saw.

Speaker 3

You still want a Brittany game in Pittsburgh and stop your offense didn't win.

Speaker 1

You that game.

Speaker 6

I'm not taking anything away from from Pittsburgh outside of the fact that their game plan was trash. Okay, and all of a sudden they try to make Justin Jefferson justin fields are throwing quarters.

Speaker 4

Isaiah just said, I'm not taking anything away from it.

Speaker 3

Took every except for all of it was trash.

Speaker 1

You guys know, I'm a realists man like either side, I don't.

Speaker 6

I'm not at home er. I'm not any that you saw me. You heard because you watched the game with me. It was trash. It was okay, all of a sudden, Justin Field is an accurate quarterback. You're throwing the ball down the field instead of running up with not Come on, that team is sick right now, and where's that quarterback. But for the same reason why I'm talking about right now, he's not throwing quarterback.

Speaker 3

They won games before, there's one games after the game.

Speaker 1

Again, I don't. I can't take a win off the board, and I don't want to. Okay, the Cowboys won that game. But let's not make it seem like like they were playing the best a good version of the number seer. No, not at all.

Speaker 7

They easily could have lost that game.

Speaker 3

But I agree with josh Is, the defense won you that game out of your three wins. Right now, let's go through it real fast. Cleveland, your offense pretty much won you that game, but that was a complete game. It could have been all three phases.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 3

Sure, against the bad football team New York Giants, your offense didn't win you that game. Your defense won you that game.

Speaker 7

They stopped the run. Mazzie Smith had the best game of his.

Speaker 3

Career against the bad football team. But they still help you win that game. Then you've got the win against Pittsburgh, and we just talked about that one. So the three wins you've had, your defense has played significantly better than you have in the four losses. But they've also mostly been against bats.

Speaker 6

So you won against you want against Daniel Jones and Justin Fields and Deshaun Watson.

Speaker 1

That's what we want again. Yeah, okay, but they can't.

Speaker 8

That completely discounts how well the defense played in the running game.

Speaker 2

Well, first and fame, this isn't even the same defense that took the field against Cleveland and New York. Now, so that personnel wise, there's that also counterpoint to I love and I can't stress it. I love that they walked into lev Stadium and held it, brought party and the forty nine ers to six points going into the half.

Speaker 1

I loved it. Yes, fantastic. Here's a question. What was Brandon and.

Speaker 2

He's on the sideline, He was on ir right, Okay, are there any are there any injuries at the wide receiver position in Atlanta that you could point it?

Speaker 1

Okay, so you're saying.

Speaker 2

They're completely whole, Yes, they're completely whold. Yes, forty nine ers were completely whole. No, No, okay, is your defense completely whole right now? No, it's in shambles, right all right.

Speaker 4

I think it could be a shootout the highest over under.

Speaker 1

A But that was the question.

Speaker 7

The question was it wasn't it was no, I was addressed. Question was do you have more faith in Yeah? Different, that's a different question.

Speaker 1

Okay, So take that. Yes, and that's why I have more confidence in the office.

Speaker 4

Okay.

Speaker 3

So fifty fifty one and a half under fifty one and a half is the over under.

Speaker 4

I don't know that's the highest.

Speaker 3

So combined points between the two teams, combined points between that's that would be thirty points on one side and twenty points on the other side. Do you think it's over that or under that? That's how that's how it works. Under you think it's under that? I think would that not be that?

Speaker 1

That's still a shootout? You said fifty one, right.

Speaker 3

Fifty one points combined, so that'd be like thirty points for uh that because five touchdowns that's a shootout.

Speaker 4

Are you saying five touchdowns is not it?

Speaker 3

Are you saying a thirty thirty twenty would you would you classify thirty twenty four as a shooter?

Speaker 7

Isn't?

Speaker 10

I don't know.

Speaker 7

That's just a good game.

Speaker 2

I don't know if you have six to seven series on offense, I think that's borderline.

Speaker 1

But I would classify it was the San Francisco game a shootout.

Speaker 3

No, I remember it's the same score, thirty to twenty four.

Speaker 1

Oh No, you can't do that.

Speaker 7

I just did.

Speaker 9

No.

Speaker 2

No, here's what I'm saying. You can't do that because you got to look at how the game unfolds. The way the game unfolded in San Francisco. I don't know that final score was thirty to twenty four.

Speaker 4

I don't think Vegas gives a flying anything.

Speaker 1

I don't do nothing with score unfolded.

Speaker 2

But Vegas also does it parties, shootout terminology. Right, they're just talking, But that's what I'm saying. I'm saying, if it's like thirty twenty four final, what was that?

Speaker 4

He said? The only thing he does in Vegas is pool parties. I said, thanks for the invite on that.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, you guys weren't there yet, Yeah, yeah, there yet.

Speaker 7

Yeah, whatever, if it's.

Speaker 2

If it's thirty, if the final score is thirty twenty four, which would be an over in that case, and it's a matter of it's a result of four consistent quarters of scoring, that's a boarding line shootout. If it's thirty twenty four and it was ten to six at the half, and you know, third quarter went lopsided here, fourth quarter wing lopside of there, not really the same.

Speaker 1

Thirty to twenty four is you know what I mean?

Speaker 3

But I don't know if I could disagree with you, more like I really don't a big large yeah, big large large disagree that's okay, we've got to take our first break when we come back. Maybe we make a bet out of this.

Speaker 1

When we come back, I.

Speaker 2

Say sixty high five, sixty comb sixty. That would be a shoot shooto.

Speaker 3

That would be a shootout, shootout under the when we come back, high five, one player each. I want everybody to give me a player on who will turn this rushing attack, this run game around when we come back.

Speaker 4

Right after this with more talking cowboys.

Speaker 4

I thought you were going ahold in the direction.

Speaker 1

You're David sho alright, sorry, all right, yo, yo, special man.

Speaker 3

Yeah, it was it was the hesitation for me that.

Speaker 4

Like it was just an extra emphasis. Oh, I'm sorry. Everybody who is into this program is the show.

Speaker 1

This is what the show is listen to it, lean into it.

Speaker 8

We're talking cowboys and we're talking oatmeal.

Speaker 4

Buy it on the internet.

Speaker 1

Sick Quake, car Co Baby, we are baby all right.

Speaker 3

Every week High five is a segment that on Friday, I have you guys help me write my article, even though it's already been written. Five talking points five a list of five things based on a certain topic that could, of course either be a good thing or a bad thing surrounding the Dallas Cowboys. And this week it has to deal with a rushing attack. This ground game has been, let's just be truthful, pitiful. It has been a pitiful attack. You're thirty second, oh thirty two teams in both total.

Speaker 4

Yards per game.

Speaker 3

Probably would be thirty. I'm sure there's many people that would agree with that. One thirty second in yards per game rushing and thirty second dead last in both yards per attempt as well.

Speaker 4

It is bad, yikes bad.

Speaker 3

So I want to try and find some optimism. I'm encouraged by those calls that we had earlier in the week that even if the Cowboys don't make an outside move, there are guy within this building that can either step up or be utilized in a different way. Or just be utilized more to help turn this rushing attack around. Isaiah's chuckling. Do you have anybody in mind? One player?

Speaker 1

Yep? Who is it?

Speaker 4

Tyler Smith?

Speaker 3

Oh?

Speaker 1

Okay, that's right. I said. You thought I was gonna say somebody who actually carries the ball. Doesn't matter. It's all about the office of line of guys.

Speaker 3

See, And that's kind of my point on this. There's a lot of guys.

Speaker 1

It doesn't matter who carries the ball.

Speaker 5

You go.

Speaker 1

I need Tyler Smith to be pulling and getting out on the edge.

Speaker 6

I want him on the edge and I want him I want him pulling people's muffin caps back.

Speaker 1

That's what I want him to do. The muffing caps.

Speaker 4

Huh.

Speaker 1

You don't know by the buffing gips.

Speaker 4

Huh. That's okay, So tell me after his.

Speaker 1

Pumpkin spice time. Okay, Kyle, give it the program. Jesus, Yes, I.

Speaker 6

Want him out in the itch. That means that you have to be able to secure the edge, right. So if you can't secure the edge, you can't get out on the edge. So obviously need both tackles to.

Speaker 1

Do their job.

Speaker 6

Whether you want to go near side or whether you want to go far side with your runs, but I think that this Dallas Cowboys offense needs to get outside the lines a little bit in terms of their rushing attack. Obviously you want to get downhill. But this is one of the reasons why I am a big advocate of Deuce. I'm a big advocate of Deduce because I think Deuce is the only running back capable tunnel wise, speed wise, agility wise to get outside the tackle box and be

able to get vertical to get the yard. Detety needs to be a creator, to be a creator, and I think him out in space is a good thing for this Cowboys office. And obviously it's not something you could do every single time, but I think that as you start looking at your personnel groups in terms of who you have in that room, I think he's the guy who gives you the biggest opportunity for a splash play.

Speaker 3

He's on my list, and I agree with you. So here's the thing about Douce Vaughan. You talk about not having enough chances, and I even I had We asked Mike McCarthy about this earlier in the week and the fact that.

Speaker 1

Where is Deuce? Why not?

Speaker 3

And then he kind of said and it was up on the podium he was like, I don't like the running back by committee approach because the guys don't get an opportunity to establish themselves. Duce Vaughan has seven carries this year twenty yards. That's it, thirty yards over the course of his career, and even though a lot of that came last year, it's a different player. He's had an entire NFL offseason. I want to see more than

seven carries from Douce Fawn. I want to see more than six carries for Dalvin Cook, if I'm being completely honest. But I also I'm tired of them taking the football away from Rico Dowdle as well, who's been your most capable back.

Speaker 4

To this point in the season.

Speaker 3

They had a shot to try something new when he was inactive last week.

Speaker 4

That was their chance.

Speaker 3

When he's inactive and it's out of their hands and whatever that may be, give the ball to Dalvin Cook, give the ball to Ducevon and try something.

Speaker 8

Do you think they didn't do that fumbling at the goal line again, which is obviously a sticking point for Mike McCarthy. Do you think going into that game, that next game where Zeke had the ball more granted they got away from the run because it got away from them.

Speaker 1

Yeah, it could have been a bill of chick move.

Speaker 7

Yeah he did hundred maybe one more time.

Speaker 1

I didn't have a touch the rest of the year. Don't touch the coaches hot.

Speaker 7

But to me, that's that's probably a big sticking point for Michael.

Speaker 3

Which is unfortunate because Rico helped you win that game.

Speaker 7

We danced about it. We were very excited about Ricos.

Speaker 6

Rico is your second most capable back. When I'm talking about as far as like just consistency, I think I take that back. He's your most He's your most consistent running back in my opinion, in terms of a change up, I personally, this is no knock on any of those guys. I'm thinking about just a two. If you're going to have a two hitted monster, I think it's Rico induce. I would think for that to be a game plan because you try it, just recoinduce. Because you need to

run screens. You need to run screens, you need to run swing screens, you need to run regular running back screens. Both guys can do Both guys can do that, but one guy is going to be a lot more shifty than the other. And usually what you're looking for is you're running back to make one guy miss, right, And one thing about Deuce is as long as he doesn't get caught in the backfield, which is often what happens whenever he's in the game and gets the runner. Yeah,

he's always in the backfield. The other opportunities he actually had a little bit of space, he always falls forward.

Speaker 3

And there's a lack of creativity with getting him.

Speaker 6

They're definitely just throwing him in the same scheme. But if you go back and look at his runs, most of his runs he's tackled in the backfield.

Speaker 1

Yep.

Speaker 6

Right, he's trying to run them, zero chance, zero chance to get anything. But the time he actually has even remotely a little bit of space, he creates and it looks like a little cloud of dust. But you look at it and say, everybody else would have got tackled right there.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yep.

Speaker 2

Well for me, first, I'll say this, I need Zach Martin with over the course of what might be his final you know, ten plus games in the NFL, to find the Zach Martin within himself. And because that is going to help monumentally in opening up some lanes because Zach Martin is having a down season. It's just it is having a down season. And then he dealt with the back issue. Now he's dealing with the shoulder issue.

He's getting banged up. This is not the same Zach Martin from even two years ago, right, so, but he's still Zach Martin. So we talked about it. So, Zach Martin, you know, less than one hundred percent, still better than one hundred percent of the next person behind Zach Martin. But you need Zach Martin to really just channel that for what may be the final time.

Speaker 1

You need to be a horse because right now he's not a class deal. Wells is like a super sized horse.

Speaker 9

Bro.

Speaker 2

Yeah, they're big, they're giants. Yeah, and they're also kind of scary to like. You don't you don't when you don't see one, you don't write, you don't want to, you know. So I actually I think I want him to be a class No.

Speaker 1

I'm saying he used to be used to be. Right now he's just a.

Speaker 7

Unicorns. But give some wings on top.

Speaker 1

Of whether the avatar horses.

Speaker 2

Needed to be an actual unicorn, not the pretty little know that mythical unicorns with savages, there are just savages, right, so if you know, you know so, but unicorns unicorns.

Speaker 1

We're talking everything.

Speaker 2

But as far as the guy that I'm circling for me, it's and you just perfect segue for me. It's Rico Dowdle. And it's not a matter of I need Rico to play better. I need Rico's touches to be more consistent. This is Rico's handoffs, his attempts since week one, right, so eight seven eight they were consistent, but he was averaging four game four yards per carry over those three games.

He got upticked to eleven against the Giants, then exploded to twenty against the Steelers, had a career game, also gave you that touchdown, that receiving touchdown that was extremely difficult for running back, right, and then you turned them all the way down to five attempts against the Detroit Lions, which maybe because of that almost fumble deck maybe nonetheless, and then you made him inactive they didn't like our dance, right maybe, and then you made him in active against

the forty nine ers. I need consistency for Rico Dowdle's That's what I need because the science shows and the film supports that when Rico Daldo gets fifteen plus touches, that he will provide you four to four and a half yards per carry and a viable not necessarily as explosive as like a Douce Vaughn, but a viable option

in space as a receiver out of the backfield. So for me that I'm looking right at Rico, and it's not that it's Rico per se that I'm looking at as much as I'm looking at McCarthy and Schottenheimer and saying, hey, you don't like this running back by committee.

Speaker 1

You realize you're the one.

Speaker 2

In control of it, right, So do away with the committee approach, or at least decide who truly is one, two three, Because all these experimentations with rotations each.

Speaker 1

Week, it's not doing you any justice. What's it, inconsistency, what's doing for you? It's putting you at thirty second in the league. In Russian nossage?

Speaker 7

Can you hear the music?

Speaker 12

Yeah?

Speaker 3

And I called it starting to starting to creeping up a little bit longer, a little bit louder.

Speaker 4

Let's make it happen. This week's make it happen.

Speaker 1

We need more touches, more consistent touches for Rico Dell.

Speaker 3

Here's to your point one final before we get Josh's input. Here, out of the NFL's thirty two teams, thirty two, how many teams have yet to give their leading rusher or anybody more than sixty carries in the entire season? More than sixty carries? That's not a ton in seven games.

Speaker 1

I'm gonna say two or two teams there are.

Speaker 3

There are two teams. Would you like to guess which teams they are?

Speaker 1

The Cowboys?

Speaker 4

The Cowboys are one.

Speaker 3

In the Carolina Panthers Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 1

Yeah, don't tell good teams just came back.

Speaker 3

Okay, Yeah, hold on floor didn't get nearly as many carries as he probably should have either. Uh, no, they're not They're not a good football team.

Speaker 1

Spoilerf is an actually typing?

Speaker 3

Ye, But yeah, to two teams that have you had to give a single player sixty carries this year, and the Dallas Cowboys are one of them. One player that could help turn it around.

Speaker 4

Before we do some pick them segments.

Speaker 8

Guys, did you know that Terrence Steele is the seventh overall grade as far as run blocking goes.

Speaker 4

That's been really good. He's been really more things like that, right, Yeah?

Speaker 1

Need that.

Speaker 4

Next to him is Zach Martin, of course, but also next to him Cooper.

Speaker 1

Bby Cooper Biby Dick the Bibi, give me the bib Yeah.

Speaker 8

Only with a fifty eight grade in rud block, Give me more of that.

Speaker 7

He needs to step it up. The young guys.

Speaker 8

Tyler Guyton also is a fifty sixth grade on Pro Football.

Speaker 3

Again, if you had to rank him, it's Terrence Steel, Tyler Smith, Zach Martin, Cooper BB, and then Tyler Guidon as the five starters ranked on Pro Football Focus. And it's really Terrence Steele is head and shoulders above Tyler Smith. He's like eighty, What is this grade? Eighty compared to seventy? Yes, yeah, and then it drops sixty for Zach Martin, so it's eighty seventy sixty and then it's just a bunch of muddledness after that.

Speaker 8

Exactly, So I think you, I think you need I'm gonna go with Cooper BB because I want to see Obviously Miyan Parthy loves running the ball down the middle. You know what I'm saying inside, So give me some more effort there. I mean, I don't know if it's lack of effort or lack of knowledge, and that lack of awareness.

Speaker 2

Experience, it's an experience converted to center exactly.

Speaker 8

So I need Cooper BB to get that nastiness, you know what I'm saying. I needed to get real angry Dart running down the field and start hurting some dude.

Speaker 12

Durham.

Speaker 1

I like it.

Speaker 7

It opens up your own game.

He needs to do a little research.

Speaker 4

Quit picking poppy.

Speaker 1

How many losses do I have?

Speaker 4

Sixteen?

Speaker 1

How many losses does the first place have?

Speaker 3

All right, we've got some phenomenal games to pick this week, and we've got an even better guest on the phone line now, Alan in Arizona representing the fans this week. Alan, you're on talking Cowboys.

Speaker 5

What's going on?

Speaker 3

Let's get you to turn that radio down just a little bit in the background, just because.

Speaker 1

We can hear.

Speaker 13

My apologies.

Speaker 11

I'm at work right now.

Speaker 4

You're good.

Speaker 3

You're good work. We appreciate you as always. When you're ready to pick some players, pick some dogs.

Speaker 1

Pick some teams, yes, sir, I'm ready.

Speaker 3

All right, let's go with some potential dogs this week.

Speaker 4

Pay close attention.

Speaker 3

These are the six potential dogs teams that are favored by under of course or underdogs by at least a touchdown in their respective games. The Dolphins at the Bills in a divisional matchup, the Broncos at the Ravens, the Panthers at home versus the Saints, the Raiders at the Bengals, the Jaguars at the Eagles, and the Buccaneers at the Chiefs. Potential dogs. Pick one of those six teams. You get double the points, you don't get a loss out of it.

Speaker 4

Josh, I'll start with you this week.

Speaker 8

Give me the Miami Dolphins to go to Buffalo, New York and absolutely dumb molish the Buffalo.

Speaker 4

We're demolishing.

Speaker 16

But no.

Speaker 1

Close. I really want to choose.

Speaker 2

I would have just shocked the world and choose the Buccaneers. But Mike Evans is injured. So yeah, without Mike Evans, god, yeah, got one. Yeah, I are forgot when so I'm yeah, I'm with Josh. I'm going to Miami Dolphins. I think thet time for the Bills to take an ale at home.

Speaker 4

Isaiah stand back.

Speaker 1

I want to go with the Bills game, but I'm gonna go with the Broncos. The bron Okay, I.

Speaker 7

Thought you're gonna do the Dolphins just do it on time.

Speaker 1

I'm not giving that to you, not today, not today.

Speaker 7

Again.

Speaker 4

He's upset because he's in the last.

Speaker 1

Yeah, double the point.

Speaker 3

I'm going to shock the world because the Saints have not won a game since Week two.

Speaker 4

They're in a bad place.

Speaker 3

I think the Panthers get their second win of the year, the Carolina Panthers to take down the Saints at home this week.

Speaker 4

Allan, what do you think? I think I'm gonna shock all of you guys.

Speaker 1

I think I'm going with the Browns. Jimis Winston just spark something in that team. I like the brown.

Speaker 3

I don't. I don't see the.

Speaker 4

Dog last year.

Speaker 3

Alan, oh you've got You've got Dolphins, Broncos, Panthers, Raiders, Jags, and Buccaneers.

Speaker 1

You did sho.

Speaker 5

Uh.

Speaker 3

I'm gonna go with the Bucks.

Speaker 1

I like the Bucks. Got it?

Speaker 4

Bucks to take him down the Chiefs. I like it, Alan, you got it.

Speaker 1

Here we go.

Speaker 3

This is a little more straightforward. This is the Chargers at the Browns. Here's the game that you wanted to pick. Are you taking the Browns in this game? Allan, Yes, sir, all right, So he's.

Speaker 4

Taking Jamis Winston.

Speaker 3

Baby, you're gonna eat a dub Oh yeah, interview.

Speaker 4

What do you think? Well?

Speaker 1

Being that I just talked to Jamis. Jamis told me that he was gonna get the dubbed this week. B yeah. So I'm going with the Browns. Solid flip the Browns solid flips.

Speaker 4

The NFL Network guys place of our Pickhams.

Speaker 1

Game.

Speaker 8

I don't think the fairy tale continues for the Browns. I'm taking the Los Angeles Chargers.

Speaker 2

Oh Patrick, oh Man, Jamis has that place rocking Man, and they are playing in Cleveland, not in Los Angeles.

Speaker 1

Keybrals for the Windy I'm going with Jamis. He's gonna eat the.

Speaker 3

W give me, give me John Harball, Chargers get it done. Patriots at Titans, hmmm, Josh, I'll start.

Speaker 8

With you, oh Man, all right, give me give me the Patriots.

Speaker 3

The Pats to win too straight it.

Speaker 1

Goad Titans gotta get off this slide. I think this is the week they get off.

Speaker 2

There only three games, because you're not gonna lose a bunch of games in a row.

Speaker 1

And I guess maybe maybe I'm going drink me and the Patriots.

Speaker 3

Pat picks the Pats.

Speaker 1

I like it well with my old teammate, mister Mayo.

Speaker 4

Mayo there catch up. Yes, the first thing you learned improv Yes, yes, yes.

Speaker 1

I always yes, the answer is always yes.

Speaker 3

I'll take I'll take the Patriots here too. What do you think, Allan?

Speaker 13

I think I'm going to go to the Patriots as well.

Speaker 1

I think there're gon we're gonna start doing it.

Speaker 3

Gratz, Tennessee Titans on your win this week. We all picked the Patriots, all right, Bears at the Cardinals. We'll start with you, Alan on this one. Caleb Williams going up against Marvin Harrison, Junior Kyler Murray and the Cardinals.

Speaker 10

Uh, being from Arizona.

Speaker 1

I think I'm gonna go with Arizona. There you go.

Speaker 10

I like what they're doing.

Speaker 4

Taking the Cardinals.

Speaker 2

I've won more with the Cardinals than lost, So I'm going with the Cardinals at home. Yeah, I think the Commanders might might have broken the beer. Yeah, so I'm going Cardinals.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

Speaker 3

I feel like there's gonna be a little Falloutah, give me the Cardinals.

Speaker 1

Give me me Bride.

Speaker 4

You play for the Cardinals. Yep, okay, okay, yes, yeah, I'm going with the Cads.

Speaker 5

Yeah.

Speaker 4

Yeah, that's unfortunate. I picked the Cardinals.

Speaker 1

That's another.

Speaker 3

Okay, Lions at the Packers little division, So goofy mood.

Speaker 4

This is what's gonna gotta Lions Packers, Isaiah, go Lions, Lions, Lions.

Speaker 3

Give me the Packers to pull an upset Packers.

Speaker 1

Your pick?

Speaker 4

Well, I Lambot, don't care Alan what she got on this one.

Speaker 2

I don't like either of them, but I got the Lions, all right?

Speaker 4

Rams at Seahawks? Patrick, you know who is going?

Speaker 5

Yeah?

Speaker 4

Patrick?

Speaker 1

Who you give me the Seawan mcvays and the Rams?

Speaker 4

Isaiah didn't get a Dolphins sound, but you got to see.

Speaker 1

You're gonna go left practice yesterday? Did he really have the injury? Man?

Speaker 4

He can't stay healthy.

Speaker 3

Rams are getting back on trust true, Give me the Rams.

Speaker 4

Give me Seahawks. I think they get back on track. Allan? Who you got?

Speaker 1

Give me the Rams?

Speaker 6

Like the Rams?

Speaker 4

The Rams? All right? Here's the one that you've all been waiting for.

Speaker 3

The Dallas Cowboys trying to get back on track themselves against the Atlanta Falcons New kick off on Fox. Kirk Cousins going up against his former head coach as the defensive coordinator of the Cowboys, Mike Zimmer.

Speaker 4

Who you got on this one?

Speaker 3

Alan from Arizona, gotta go with the Cowboys with the score of twenty eight to fourteen. Go with that, Cowboys by two scores. Alan, We appreciated as always, we appreciate you listening and calling in shout South.

Speaker 4

Yeah, have fun out there and we will talk to you again down the line.

Speaker 10

Alrighty, guys, I'm going there.

Speaker 3

He goes Allen and Arizona doing a great job. I think he just went straight to the first game, is what happened?

Speaker 1

Yeah? Yeah, he was ready.

Speaker 4

I'm ready.

Speaker 1

He's locked and loaded.

Speaker 8

I'd like to point out that Patrick is only up by two games because he keeps betting against the team.

Speaker 1

That he works for.

Speaker 7

Derek Lin.

Speaker 1

Maybe, Oh, so what you're saying is I'm not a homer and I just shoot the science straight.

Speaker 7

Or or he just doesn't believe in the team he works.

Speaker 1

I don't know.

Speaker 3

I think he's one and one in the games that he's picked against the Cowboys against.

Speaker 1

So there you go. Whatever, man, you gave it a shut.

Speaker 4

Yeah, I'm trying to give them something.

Speaker 1

Ship.

Speaker 4

It's not working. Josh, who you got this? I hate you, man, and yet you love me.

Speaker 12

Yeah, He's all right.

Speaker 1

Hate is just love. With a mask on.

Speaker 4

I'm just deeply trying to do.

Speaker 7

We gotta hurry out, jo who you got Dallas Cowboys. Let's go with the Cowboys.

Speaker 8

Let's go thirty twenty five, twenty six.

Speaker 4

That's the over there, you go thirty to twenty six.

Speaker 1

I want the Cowboys to win, and I want them to. I want them to. They need to. I need them to.

Speaker 2

However, until you show me you can play good football again, you're not playing good football yet. So I think I'm going to predict the Falcons thirty to twenty.

Speaker 4

Eight, thirty twenty eight and a close one.

Speaker 2

Yeah, Cowboys got to show me something for me to start predicting, predicting win predicting wins again.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I feel the same way, Isaiah, go thirty four to twenty one, thirty birds.

Speaker 4

Thirty damn. Do you know how to do the thirty bird?

Speaker 1

Absolutely? Jaiana got go for it, predicted all right.

Speaker 3

Here's the thing, guys, going into the week, I was convinced I was not going to pick the Dallas Cowboys. Was convinced watching the film, watching the defense of the Atlanta Falcons. It's not I'm picking the Cowboys as we go.

Speaker 4

I'm gonna pick them.

Speaker 3

This is the first time I've picked them since the Giants game. It's first time I picked the Cowboys since the Giants game. And I think they get it done because I think they put up some points against this Atlanta defense and I think the Cowboys defense gets just enough pressure on Kirk Cousins to force.

Speaker 4

Two turnovers turnovers.

Speaker 1

I said it. You heard what I said.

Speaker 3

I think they dial it up in a different way this week. I'm putting a little optimism on the table as we finish out. Cowboys win it thirty to twenty four.

Speaker 4

Final score.

Speaker 3

It's a reverse of what last week's score was.

Speaker 4

The Cowboys get it done this time around.

Speaker 3

That does it for us. Here on Talking Cowboys for Chris Beam in the back, Isaiah stand Back, Patrick no See Walker, Josh Rodriguez. I'm Kyle Yoman saying so long Talking Cowboys.

Speaker 4

We will see you on Monday after the game.

Speaker 3

Du Cowboys. This has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
