The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. This He's Talking Cowboys, screening live from the Dallas Cowboys World Hours at the Star in Frisco. Here are Mickey Spagnola, Bryan Bravis, Rob Phillips, and Bill Jones. And welcome to a victory Monday here at the Star in Frisco Cowboys over the Philadelphia Eagles thirty seven to ten on Sunday night at at and
T Stadium. And happy days are here again at least well for two weeks because the Cowboys have are They're gonna win again next week. There you go at the buy a week next to it, were in to Wade Phillips say, well that's exactly right. And welcome Dude Talking Cowboys, Bill Jones, Mickey Spagnola, Brian brought us and Rob Phillips. We're here for the next forty five minutes to break it all down exactly why the Cowboys were winners last
night over the Philadelphia Eagles. Right off the top, I want to mention those who have suffered a loss in the tornadoes that hit in North Dallas last night, and our thoughts and prayers are with you as we begin this day. That came down in the second half of the game last night, and then many of us involved in the game, whether at the stadium or here at the Star at a TV studio, we're sort of oblivious to what was going on outside. But our thoughts are
with you as you struggle to overcome that. It was just a swap of destruction and that went through in terror, that went through Dallas, North Dallas last night. Your take on what happened last night at at and T Stadium, it was a safe place to be, as it turned out, because we had no idea what was going on. Right the way right, I'm watching all the weather map, but no one said anything about what was happening. So it's unusual. Rob and I were like, yeah, yeah, there's no sense lead.
They saw the lightning strike occasionally and that's about it. Yeah, at a late October tornado is unusual to begin with. But back to your first question, I thought the Cowboys finally played the way we thought they would play, and this was the first time all season they played a complete game and not to use the cliche offense, defense, and special teams, but for the first time, I thought
all three units functioned away. We had expected them to function after what we saw in preseason and along with the training camp, So goodwin. Obviously the number means something to get to four, but I think the confidence they may draw off from a victory like that, showing themselves what they're capable of doing when they play without stepping
on their feet, what they can do going forward. It was a complete win, and it was also the best defensive performance we've seen, probably by far, because of the way they took the ball away. And I think we
hammered this point. I think Bill, you started it during the week last week, the only team left in the league entering Sunday that had not started a drive in their own territory, and lo and behold, first fifteen plays of the game, they're inside Philly forty five, Philly fourteen, and then a couple laid in the game as well, and they get twenty one of their thirty seven points off of that. I mean, Zeke said it after the game.
All the credit goes to the defense for setting the tone and setting us up and letting us get off to a good start to where after that you saw the offense do what they want to do. Dictate things and get to some things they want to get too. Offensively, Yeah, the week before we were talking about a lack of pass rush, and all of a sudden you found pastors to think it gets a pretty good offensive line, you know.
And that's the thing I think that was most impressive to me on that situation was the fact that you're able to get four man pressure. Yeah, they did bring a couple of blitzes that were disguised. Well, got some guys home. You know, anytime you can affect Carson Wentz in the pocket. They don't have a lot of weapons as far as down the field players, you know with Al Jackson, but you're able to cover their guys. Zach Ernst didn't kill you in this football game. Jeffrey didn't
kill you in this game. You know the running back surely you know you would worry about Sanders a little bit coming out. So they affected Carson Wentz in the pocket. They it affected the way that the Eagles were not able to throw the football, and I think that's to me. You know, the Eagles they tried to be real patient by running the football. They didn't have the success that the Cowboys had running the football, and that put them in a hole little bit. But those turnovers, like Rob said,
that's key right there. You get two quick ones, you cash in on them. Now the Eagles are having to play behind, but the Cowboys did a great job of just keeping that distance, not allowing the Eagles to get close. And that's the mark of a team that's capable of doing things. They're capable of playing like this every week. Some days. It's a very fine line with this team. We talked about that too, you know, if they have
if they have turnovers, or if they have penalties. You know, we saw them get a couple of penalties and still kind of maintain and be able to make some positive plays out of that. They took it to Philadelphia's defense. They blocked their front, they they made plays down the field. They were physical, and they had to run the football. Like Mickey said, Really a nice team victory overall for a team that's capable of playing like that every week.
You know, it's interesting. Doug Peterson decided not to defer. He took the ball to start and I think even you go back to his comments on the radio last week, and he saw that his team was reeling and he felt like he needed to do something to try to change that, and whether it was going on the radio and say we're gonna win this game, and I mean as positive as he can be, and then going out of his nature and taking the ball to start the game, and it all just backfired him in the first two
minutes of that game. Well, they kept worrying about their slow starts, falling behind by ten points in five or six games. So I think he thought, Okay, I'll show you. Yeah, Well the game showed him ended up being faked bravado on his part. Do you feel like though, that he looked at the tape from the last three weeks and felt like that he could maybe make some hay if he took the ball. Do you feel like though the way the Cowboys defense with the with the exception or
maybe the New Orleans game. You look at what the you know, they had had some success moving the ball against Green Bay. You know they actually they should have probably lost that game, but they they exactly they should have, you know. But but do you feel like that maybe he's like, Okay, if I take this ball, you know I can I can do something here. Dallas is not going to get me off this field three and out, you know. I mean, yeah, and that's what I'm saying.
If it was one of those things where you're playing against the defense that you felt like, man, okay, if I take this ball, there is a good chance I'm gonna have either have a turnover, I'm gonna go three and out. You know. I think maybe it's a little bit of him saying maybe he's like he's showing confidence in his offense, but his offense didn't didn't didn't have enough confidence to do what he needed to do. They
didn't protect well enough. They gave up the sack, they gave up the fumble, they gave up the hit, all that stuff right there. But it was probably one of those things where he said, well, Dallas isn't scaring me the way they're playing defense right now, We'll see. Yeah, well, you know what I mean, he might have won the bet. I mean, if you think there was two key plays
on that first possession. They had already gotten a first down, right yeah, and then the deep ball the guy picked up the interference flag right when a Woozier and I think it was Jeffrey tangled each other, and then he completed the past to Goddard, you know, and they're moving and he fumbles the ball away. So yeah, I mean that's just kind of reminiscent of what the Cowboys he's
been doing. These two teams were mirror images of the question and the Cowboys, Dak said it during the week, they had to get out of their own way no turnovers offensively. I'm with you, Brian. I mean I think they felt like and he needed, they need to do something to jump start their offense. It just didn't work out for him. But then the Cowboys will see this team again. Maybe it's a different story, but they need to shun Jackson back because Cowboys offensively already more explosive
team than Philly is right now. And there's a and to your point, Carson Wentz was just kind of off his spot a lot during the game. Oh yeah, they affected the way he played in that game. There's no question in the pass rush, whether it was four or the extra man, or or showing blitz to one side and bringing the slot off the other. I mean, very
creative ways of getting pressure home. And they had Carson Wentz not on his game last night, and you know he was capable of making We've seen Carson Wentz make mistakes during games. You just had to be talked about in the pregame shows. You had to be ready for him to throw you the ball. You know. You couldn't. You couldn't get in a situation like what happened to Sean Lee in the end of the game, you know,
and and not not get that interception, you know. And they did a great job the fumbles and guys getting on the ball. How many times we've seen the ball on the ground and somebody doesn't get on it, they don't scoop it to themselves. Give Carrie Hider a lot of credit. That ball hits Carson Wentz right in the face, you know, it goes through his hands, it's on the ground. Carry hiders not even thinking about passers, and he sees it the situation he's diving inside, scoops it to himself.
You know. Those are those are nice instinctive plays right there. If you talk about creating turnovers, you gotta be able to do things like that, put yourself in position finish the play. They were able to do that against I think a team that offensively, Yes, they lack playmakers on the outside, but they covered those tight ends yeah, you know, and they choked them, and they choked the running game. They Yeah, they did both. Jeff ef with on him quite a bit. Yeah, I think they zoned it a
litt little bit. But here's the bottom line. He completed only sixteen passes and only four of those were to wide receivers. And we've seen that they couldn't get the ball on the outside and he kept trying. They kept slaying it around, throwing it deep. What gay do that have? Green Bay? The Green Bay game was the same way, right, didn't didn't they complete all their passes. Aaron Rodgers passes
all went to tight ends. I bet he ran more two tight with that offense than because without why without Adams in that game? Yeah, he had to rely on some other guys. Yeah, it's just funny sometimes. I mean, do you guys ever watch this play secondary defense and they think it's just chaotic and you're just like, oh my god, how open does that guy? You know you were you were get that feeling like why is that
guy so open? You know you maybe if you and it always seems to happen when they get a rusher home and he just misses and now the quarterbacks moving a little and now the balls down the field and you're like going, oh my gosh, how does that happen? Well, they had a bunch of them. Oh no, it's usaying they had They took it too. I thought, a really good Philadelphia offensive line, which makes me wonder, Okay, what happened the previous week against the Jets? You know where
was this? Does it does it take you to have to have a loss? I hate that when they say, oh, yeah, we'll learn from this. God, I hate that. I hate that because stake Lawrence was living in the backfield in the first half, sure was. I mean he was winning on that first step he was. He was, Yeah, really quick first step for him. Lane Johnson usually plays him pretty well. That Lane Johnson didn't have an answer for him, you know. And Robert Quinn until he got by the way.
Robert Quinn, mickey, you have anything on the Robert quinns was all I heard at the end was that he was going for X rays. Yeah, and it was ribs. Okay, well I heard it was. I heard it was a spasm in his ribs. I didn't know if he had anything, but they took him to the hospital because they couldn't figure out they couldn't see on the X ray if there was anything more there, but it was just a spasm. He should be all right, that's what I heard this morning.
I didn't know Mickey band Esh should be fine, Tea. You know, he was back on the sideline after before the game was over, and he was in his warm up suit. So he said, if it was up to me, I would have come back. And apparently he didn't look too happy that he couldn't go back in the game. Seawn Lee played a hell of a game. That's Joe Thomas. Sean Lee though, Sean Lee, you know, yeah, it's back in his normal spot. Yeah. And I looked at him, I said, feel like he played a game today, and
he kind of smiled. He goes, yeah, it felt good. Oh, I did a great job and he really make plays. Look at that one possession was at the last he made every player they were trying to kind of round with the clock. Shawn Lee says, okay, I'm not gonna let you block me, and then I wish he could have finished with the interception. That would have been a nice way to kind of tight things up there. I think it may have been good that he didn't because
he didn't have to stretch out those hamstrings. Yeah, and then he started running. Yeah, exactly. We got a giggle out of that. But the injury see your hands there, Yeah, injury seemed to be okay there for them going into the by Keith was fine. Yeah, he was walking out and I asked him. He said, I'm good. What happened to him? He got hit? Ye, a collision. Yeah, and he got the breath knocked out of me. Yeah, he said, he got the breath knock He ran and he ran
into the receiver. Yeah. It was on the Sean Lee drop. It was what it was. Yeah, Mac Collins, I think guy was Hollins and Mac Collins and Mac Yeah, okay, yeah, and he said that he wasn't sure that his breath was ever coming back. Finally came back. So but on the injury front, I mean, maybe it wasn't looking too good or we weren't sure going in, you know, about a few days ago. But Zach Martin, Tyrant Smith and effort by those guys. They play every snap, all seventy snaps.
Byron Jones plays every defensive snap, and Maury Cooper fifty six snaps and some of his routes as usual were you know, textbook tip of the captain. Britt Brown and those guys over that training room because Wednesday we were all having our show talking about whoa what about this? And WHOA what about that? I was not going to pick the philadelp I was not going to pick the Dallas Cowboys if they didn't play without those guys, and those guys didn't make a difference. You watched with the
off at the protection Lyle Collins against Brandy Graham. Brandy Graham did sniff sniff and how many times did you hear Fletcher not much? You know what's wrong with Fletcher Cox. I mean this in a way is the play I I sell Fletcher Cox is this guy, you know, he's a powerful guy. You gotta watch him, you gotta do this guy to do that. Fletcher Cox is is like a shell of himself. He really, you know, and he doesn't look nearly the same player with the quickness and
the first reason they he's not good anymore. The other part of it with the watch will get three sets him again. The other part of it with their run defense is there a ranked number two in the league and run defense coming in. But if you if you looked at him, they didn't look like they were that strong and and they all lina game to at least Zach Brown. Yeah, Nigel Bradham didn't play Garry, who I like is just undersize he's two thirty pound linebacker and
you go. And that's one of the reasons even going in that I thought the Cowboys, even though they were the number two run defense, that they'd be able to run the ball against him. Well, they did it last year and they did it again this year. Oh no, that's it's Zeke. He sees that those wings on that helmet and he just lowered. I'll tell you what, though, when you knew when he on that fourteen yard run he had when he blew up Jenkins, you're thinking, okay, now it's on. Here we go. I mean, this is
this is one of those tones setting time. Yet he's just when he ran over and Jenkins, you know, it's so nice to see Scandrick play out there in space. That just reminded me so much of what he used to do here, didn't it bed remind me Over to the Cowboys sideline pre game warm ups to talk with everybody that reminded me of Scandrick when Jordan Lewis goes on the corner blitz on block for the sack, that that was a Scandrick special. Yeah, but yeah, but how
about the times when he did nothing? You know, that's the kind of times I remember. Well, I know you got a problem with your run defense. When the quarterback runs a quarterback sneak and goes eight yards. Yeah, the last guy had to make the tackle. The guys touchdown guys are savage on little Scandrick cuts. You know what, Hey, there's a reason why it's Mickey would say, there's always a reason why. There's a reason why. You know, it comes back at you. You know, yeah, exactly, you know,
doing to others as they do to you. All Right, don't you make a tackle on that note. Let's come back and let's talk creativity on offense. We come back here on talking cowboys. Yeah, it was bad around here last night. I didn't know much about that. Pretty close to hope By the way, somebody came up to me when I was out doing my pregame segment on the Plaza and they said, you know, I can't remember what I was watching, but I saw you. I said, what are you doing?
He goes, I saw you. We're in a round table. When was this? And they go eight o'clock Friday night, So somebody was Texas twenty one on Friday night. You get around to Friday version of talking It was an

I'm just dumb as an early morning. I'm just dumb. Okay, Our roundtable continues. Yes, yeah, it's okay. It's one thing getting a POSI session and the opponents into the field and plus territory yes, it's another thing to cash in on it. And how about the way the Cowboys cashed in on that first turnover with the play call to
Tavon Austin. I love the design of that play. You get it, your planning, that gets an aggressive defense to begin with, and they're so interested in getting down inside and what a great play fake Dak Prescott one of his maybe as underrated skill as he has as a ball hand on the way he's able to deception that he has. But man, those guys, those those ends and everybody when they're when they're chasing, I mean, you got, you got. You know that with Gruge Hill, is that
how you pronounce his name? Let's go Gruge Hill. I'm knna be yeah, year yeah. And then Rodney McLoud. I mean they're flying down inside as fast as they can go, and then to bring Austin in motion and then have him go back outside. I thought, man, that that is what you gotta do. That is just a great way of taking advantage of the players you have and then taking advantage of a defense that you know is going to try and fly to get backside to get that ball. So I love the design. I love the play call
and I love the execution of it even more. I wrote here on my notes that it was six plays forty five yards for that touchdowns. What it was, I wrote, six perfect plays. They didn't make a mistake. Zek for seven, Zeke for two, the quarterbacks even for eight. Even the first one was it turned out to be a perfect play. Was the backhand shovel. Yeah, Rogers, Aaron, that's saying. That's what I'm saying. I thought of Aaron Rodgers when that happened.
I went, oh, how many times I've seen this against me? You know? And you know what else happened on that drive? Two quarterback sneaks with a quarterback sneak. Yeah, but every they had two first downs, and they ran on first
down each time. See that's what they were. The first one was first Yeah, and I kind of considered it a run the way that twelve first down runs in that first first half for six and six point seven yards to carry that that when there was a combination of Elliott and Pollard and and Prescott, we saw some more Tony Pollard in this game. How about that? I asked for it. We got it. Twenty snaps who he picked the click yes, look you well kind of. I wait a minute, why was going on here? I didn't
know if there was? Did you write this down? I also had during this show. I don't know. I don't know why. Who's the secretary here? Yeah, And they used him with Zeke in the backfield. They used him as a decoy, running him in motions. I mean, just the threat of him. That was good to see about more of that, yeah, about a lot more of that. It was good. Yeah. Actually, Dak said the second most excited you think you said it was the first. First it was, Yeah,
the second sixty three yard field. Pollard had a damn nice pick up on that long pass play. He was he was getting it in his balance, putting his foot down, kept going forward. Eleven can use at his size to move the pile when there's nothing there. Yeah, and that's a good blow for for Zeked and not you know, twenty two carries. That's good because he's not just giving satellite back type of reps. I mean, he can he can run, running the tackles, you know. And I said
he blitz pick up that one time. The ball that went down the sidelines to uh to Amari Cooper was him stepping up and Grouzier Hill getting him, you know, blocking him up. That's what you gotta do if you're gonna play in this game, you gotta protect and they'll hand you the ball if you protect as well. And they did more of both of them in there at the same love that. I love that. I just think they should do it more and more. Yeah, make make
beefenses have to defend him. You know. I'm surprised when they when they threw the ball the flat on third down, where's third and seven, and they didn't pick up the first down in the red zone where they had to kick the field goal. Remember where they had a both the backfield. They motioned, They motioned Pollard left and he was on the outside with Scandrick. I thought for sure they were going to fire the ball over there because he wasn't gonna tackle him. He was gonna get in,
you know. But he said he threw it. He threw it to Zeke in the flat and they had to kick the field goal. But yeah, more when you have to make teams have to pick him up, maybe it takes an extra good defender out of that box, or takes a good defender away from the play. When you use him like that. Yeah, you know, I'm I'm going back and looking at the now. Pollard was on the
field on the Tavon touchdown. That was a fake wist to Pollard, right, yes, right right, and then the pitch out to Tavon r. And when you get Tavon if you can figure out how to get Tavon in an open field one on one against Scandrick or anybody, mind everybody. It was Scandrick out there too, but it didn't matter though.
But a health of block reverse, I mean, hey, no, but a healv of block two by by Michael Gallop down field because Mills was trying to fight him, and he drove Mills into the end zone and Mills came off late. But by that time the ball here is if you're watching along with us, watch this blockdown the field, Watch blockdown field, see you know, see Mills until that's because that's because Gallup had pushed him all the way
into the end zone. So good job at helping his little buddy out right there to get into that endze. Somebody needed to ride. Mind Mills, he's playing football and not soccer. Why is that that dive he took in the end zone act like head got pushed from behind, throw his hands up and two steps after hands were on, I'm stay you guys see yeah right, did you guys see the Eagles trainer? Yes, fly in and she was It wasn't on the TV broadcast. He hand checked him.
He hand checked in on Xavier Woods x X got hand checked x Gotta spun around, like, whoa trainer man? Is that allowed? I don't think so. You're not in the field of play here it is. Let's see we get it right here. Trainer man cups running out and oh, oh little shop, like, hey, let's just I'm just asking. It's not the biggest deal in the world, but can you do that? I don't know. Trainer Man's like, trainer man took a walk of shame after that. Did he watch him? Yeah, it's a trainer man. Go yeah, you
get off the field. You're not supposed to be here. Funny Yeah, look at him. He's mad too good for Woods? About how about an usky an interception? Yeah? But how about a bad personal foul too? He took a run at He took a run at Jeffrey. There he saw that ball. I'm kind of glad he hit Jeffrey but I mean it's yeah, how things worked out. Now you won the game. Well that's how they scored their touchdown. Ye person. By the way, too, I'm gonna complain. I
thought that. I'm you know, I mean, I'm screaming at the TV when when uh, when Jalen Smith gets that call? But it was really like he's trying to hit the ball and his elbow because Carson Witz is drifting towards him as he's coming around on the stunt, and he's kind of drifting and falling into him as he's throwing the ball. And you get Smith was trying to hit the ball with his hand and his elbow got in his face. I get it. You're trying to keep the
quarterback from getting shots to the head. I get it. But boy, that was more on Carson Wentz than it was on Jalen Smith, you know, But it's more on the rules. I mean, yeah, yeah, we all know what the rules are, and I don't know, don't be anal you know, incidental contact. How big a penalty was that though? I mean, oh no, it's off the field. They were off the field. Scored the first time. It's back to Yeah,
it's back. It's back to back drives where they're they get a turnover, then they're off the field, right, You might might about that. Yeah, so yeah, it's a fine line when deciding what it is. I guess you gotta you know, if if Dad got hit in the head, I'd be losing my unit probably, Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. Well he did get hit last week, and the guy's got fine this week or last week at the end, not no penalty. We'll move on. We'll move on. But how about the guy on the sideline called the guy
in bounds. He's sitting there looking right at him. What's he looking at? You have to use a challenge to fix it? Think about this now that I look back at it. I mean, the Eagles got The Eagles got ten points in the entire game. How dominating was this defensive performance when you consider their only touchdown drive of the game was the Jalen Smithy and the Xavier Woods penalty. They gave them thirty yards of the whatever it was, eighty seven yards. They went eighty seven on the drive.
But still, um, I mean, that's that's a pretty dominating defensive performance. They were awesome, and they were good the first four games of the year. I think people maybe forgot that, you know, the last couple games, Powers screaming, Adam Packers. It was the run defense, Jets, it was big pass plays, but they were solid those first four games of the season, keeping teams out of the end zone. It's those takeaways. It's that's what you asked those guys. They say, we got to take the ball away and
we got to score. That's the one thing missing is they didn't get a pick. They got They got four takeaways in the game, right, the first six games they had five? Yeah, can you keep it up? Can you? Yeah? I mean I don't know you're gonna get four, but you have at you know, one or two each game. That's not asking for a lot would be. But it makes a difference, makes a different on the other teams doing well. I look at the Green Bay game. I mean, all right, Cowboys win this game thirty seven ten, they
had four takeaways. Did what Green Bay have against the Cowboys in the first half of that game when they get up on them and they wound up getting up thirty one three and the final was thirty four twenty four And Cowboys had two turnovers, costly turnovers. They're driving down the field, they're you know, they was playing well, but you turn the ball over, and so people are talking about, well, what's the difference between this Cowboys team
the last three games and the games they won? Well, obviously the first three games with what the competition was, but when you turn the ball over, you're you know, yeah, it's gonna look like your coach didn't have you motivated to play. Right. Nick turned to me right as the game was inning, He's like, I don't really know what I'm gonna write. I mean, oh, shocker. You get all your players back and you get a bunch of takeaways and you win. Oh formula. You know they were they
were prepared. Yeah, and there was a head coach. Now they were listening to the Philadelphia head coach. That's why they were motivated, right Bill, being a TV man, you can't give this head coach credit for motivates. Now, all right, we can tell you more return calling plays by Craddy came back. Yeah, and we continue with more talking Cowboys in a moment. It can be hard to find the

daughters will buy your trouble. That's right. Well, you could talk to Mickey. Yeah, I always talk to Mickey absolutely. All right, Um, where do we go next? Here? What do you think? What do you think? Which? What else is on your mind? Here? On this Victor quarterback play? How? Oh? How about it? How about the kicker? Yeah? Okay, okay, sixty three yard it's three times now, as long as the first time in NFL history a kicker has kicked a field goal sixty or more yards three times in
a career. In a career, and this guy's only a year, season and a half into his and he is about thirty years old, and we keep trying to fire him every week. Just a long. It's not thirty three's all right, it's amazing. They need to blindfold him then on those thirty three yard field goals is what they need to do. It's like, it's funny. Did the Eagles even trying to rush him? I don't think they even tried to. Wouldn't
you figure out they had a guy underneath the goal post? Yeah, but that would be when you wouldn't you want to rush him and maybe play of the half block and get a block. And I think they thought they were going to get a return, did they? Well, I'll tell you what, it was a great job by the offensive lineman who block on that. Once they got their blocks and heard that thud, they took off running. It was
like they were kind of covering interception, right. You know when Lynean Travis Frederick, you know Travis Frederick had a fumble recovery last night this time. But you know those guys, those lineman, hey, if they throw an interception, they take pride in going down there and trying to make a tackle, you know, try and get in position to get the ball, get it back and get a guy down. So yeah, it was impressive those guys running as fast as they
could because they knew the situation. If that mean, how many times before half we've seen crazy things happen? Remember that Kansas City game that was played here when they threw the screen right before half and they ran it all the way through your defense and Tyree Hill. Yeah, you're just sitting there going crazy things happen. You know. I can think about the Alabama Auburn game. Oh yeah, yeah,
you know that that field goaltimate one. Yeah, I mean you think about those plays that are just they're backbreaking if they happen. Mick, do you see what next Gen stats said the field goal would have been good from I'm guessing sixty seven sixty six, look like you could have been seventy. He had five yard He's trying to drop offsides stats Holiday the subscription for Christmas. All you had to do is ask me, and I told you the answer. Okay, by a yard. Mickey just rips his
head set off and heard that. Okay, you you've got your wish. We talked about the kicker. Now Brian gets his wish. Yeah, talk about the quarterback. Quarterback played really well in this from any I got something to throw other than that one he's trying to throw to. Don't throw it to tabe On Austin. Don't throw that ball up to tabe On Austin. He checked and we've seen him do it. Check it. He'll heat check it. Man. Yeah, he got greedy a couple of games ago too. You know,
can't you can't make that throw? He No, not only you can't make the throw, you don't need to do it in that situation. Yeah, but not to table On Austin even I would have. I mean, if you're going to throw it, to throw it to nineteen or thirteen or eleven, one of those guys that was gonna go play defense for you up there, you know, if if it's short. But hey, that's that's the worst thing I could say about Dak Prescott. He was tremendous. We did have back to back sacks, so I was kind of
thinking about that. That was well. At the time, I'm thinking Tyrn held up well in the gap. Yeah, I thought he was moving okay, but you know when he was at Barnet the got the sack. You want it, Okay, it is the ankle affecting his lateral movement a little bit, um, but they held up well overall. Yeah. Funny when Tyren Smith has a mistake, we're just maybe maybe Barnett just made it. Had a damn good rush. It was a great run. We're like, ah, something happened, and then he
spun out into Ridgeway. Yeah, but I just that to me. You know, very very few plays that Dak Prescott had that were just does that numbing kind of why would you do that? You know? I thought overall he had great command of the game, got him in and out of some good plays. Ball handling was outstanding. I wish he would have just put the ball in front of Michael Gallop though, on that slant I think Gallop he
might have been protecting Gallop. You know, McLeod, the safety was in the middle of the field on that slant down there when the ball was behind him. If he throws it out in front him just or puts it on him. Maybe he could protect himself a little better at contact, but Gallop might score. We've seen Gallop go inside and make some big catches and take some hits. So I wish the ball was just behind him, you know, a little bit too much where he couldn't. But he
came back. He made a hell to catch where he ingested even more to get a ball that was behind him. So I don't think you can fault number four very much for anything that he did yesterday. Bye week times in the past where the Cowboys have had some contract signings during a bye week or the middle of the season. You think you got some business, you get some news you want to first. I don't have any news, but I'm just throwing it out in their news business. What
are you doing? I'm just throwing it out there. If you were going to sign your quarterback to a long term contract, when are you going to do it? Are you waiting until after the season? Want to do it? Or when does he want to do it? Does he want to wait till after the season? When does the guys want to do it? Yeah, if it's going to happen during the season, don't you think now is the time most likely it would happen. I think everybody just kind of wants to get away from the game for
a little bit. I think they practice Wednesday Thursday. They're off today tomorrow. They practice Wednesday, Thursday off, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. Yeah, probably Monday too, because it's a Monday night they are. That's what I'm saying. They're not going to practice skin until next Tuesday. So to me, it might be where you say, hey, let's just get away from everybody, just
kind of disperse and come back. I don't know how, you know, because his people, what what he needs, I think was out of his hands, affects those guys having phone conversations. I think he's playing the season with not thinking about the contract. But I don't think he has to. Yeah, I mean do it anytime. Yeah, he's got to go
to Cobo, doesn't he. Let's see, he's got to it's the Bible maybe, Okay, and then the other thing up, load up a plane to take all those guys fishing with him unless he wants to go to Starkville for a game or something, and Jason Mars Tires start vegas them. The other day. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, didn't Garrett say this morning a fan, maybe there's a body of water somewhere and put my feed in the sand and just get away from it. And it was good at me
and have a lemonade. Have you seen your schedule this week? Wednesday? Thursday? Wednesday Thursday practice so they get there four days are Friday through Monday. Yeah, yeah, okay with a Monday night game. Right, Yeah, so we won't practice skinntil next Tuesday. Yeah. So this team needs it if there was ever a team that needed it. I mean, not just the guys that got banged up in the game, the guys that fought through stuff.
It's just the perfect time for a lot of these guys going since July twenty fourth or fifth, Right, So yeah, need to step away from this for a little bit. Bill. I like your idea of trying to sign players, but I think everybody's gonna take a little break from this. Okay, all right, I just heard including us. You heard it here first. You heard it here first. In case it happens if I if I'm in between casts, make sure you tweet it out so I can retweet you for that.
What's our schedule? I think Mickey's going yes, yeah, yeah, and Mickey's not gonna worry about that. Here's another thing to consider. Okay, when's the trade day line? Twenty ninth? Yeah, all right? Twitch the date today when we get back to work, it's the nineteenth. But is it to twenty first? Yeah? So a week from tomorrow is the trade deadline? Right? Yes?
So this week I want you to put your thinking caps on, think trade for somebody, and we're going to figure out, okay, where it's an area that we think that the team might benefit from adding a player. Tomorrow, I believe is the one year anniversary of the Olamari Cooper trade. Correct sounds about right. I don't know if it's the exact date, is it. Well, Rob's looked this up. He ain't gonna put bad information out. Somebody told me. But it was after room. It was after the seventh game, yea,
And it was during the bye week. It's somewhere in there. Can we start practicing Noah Brown and those guys too coming up next next week? Is that possible, Rob? Noah Brown could have gone he's on pup right right, He could have started this week. They didn't want to start. Yeah, they knew they weren't gonna do anything. Sounds like he and my governor doing well though, so maybe I'm just talking about some other bodies. Yeah. Mcgovernan was out on the on the field in pre pre game warm ups.
He was moving around pretty well. Yeah, he was not ready to play, but was snapping for Thornson. I know you know where that guy is working. Yeah, I just didn't say that with a lot of coffee. I wanted to make it right, and you didn't know. I think he put it in. I thought there was That's why I right, That's why I corrected you. You know what the guy works. I mean he actually he works on his drop backs and and he's out there with Kitten and Kitten is going. He works on quarterback drills, he
works on drills. He's actually he's actually been a pretty quality receiver for them and scout team believing. Yeah yeah, yeah, we gotta see when I got everybody. Yeah yeah, yeah, that's a two way street. Yeah, all right, we got one more minute here. Uh you know what, Oh, I'll tell you what. How about it? If you're going to steal in a line from one five three arrow down, I don't think that Hill played all that well inside for thirteen snaps. Yeah, but he played something did he
played defensive end? I saw ninety seven out there. He might have been a twist rush and stuff like that as he played. I'm gonna have to go back, I would tackle. I thought, Yeah, I thought. I thought it was fifty one and fifty six with a two primary into the players at defensive and then they and then they flipped ninety over to quinnside for some rushes over there.
When they started the second half with Lawrence playing right defensive, Yeah, that's when I noticed that's what they're trying to rush the rick left and right out there. Yeah, but he Taco would come back. There's not a factor. That's a shame, Mickey. Mickey will dive into that a little bit more. And well, I just didn't feel like he got washed a couple of times. It's he just doesn't have enough power, strong enough. He's not strong enough. Mickey's right, He's just not strong
enough right now. And it's hard player. I don't know, maybe you know he's he's playing that under tackle and so you know Hambleton was enacted. He was a one. Yeah, maybe we'll see what the understand a little more of why they went that route where they got their selves almost in trouble. They had Armstrong down and then Quinn down. Yeah, exactly. All right, We're back with more talking Cowboys on a victory Tuesday tomorrow. This has been a production of Dallas
Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. Ut bit had been, had been writed, Battle, write that writed, Battle to write the Batten Ship, Write write a Baton ship, But happen happen
