Episode description

Prescott will be entering his seventh season. Is this as good as it gets or can he keep improving? Will he have a say in some of the upcoming decisions? And is it strange that Parsons doesn’t talk much defense with McCarthy? Plus, a little food talk with Nate sharing the, uh, impressive diet he had back in his playing days.

The following He's a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. Flowing out of the backfield. Nick's flowing down the sideline. Monday weird time for us, same place. You're looking live out of Tostito's Championship Plaza here at

the Star outside for Jesus Christ. Let me just start over Monday one thirty. You're looking live Joe's Tito's Championship plause outside for it Center at the Star Frisco, where it's sixty four degrees. It feels like sixty four. The high today is sixty five. In the low tonight it's thirty eight degrees. How was y'all's weekend? Kurt's good, Yeah, good, good, Yeah, but you just my weekend was good Man Saturday, the Kingdom Collegiate Academy Varsity boys won their game. We're headed

to State were Let's final four. We're heading down to wake O on Wednesday, right, Yeah, we're favorites. We're favorites to win this thing. Our girls channings hold everybody else five foot six. I'm just saying, everybody at five foot six, you're got six foot y'all gonna win. Go ahead on sky. It's not the truth. Everybody's my height. You got the better athletes. I do have the better athletes. I got all the black kids at my school. Be real, it's one black kid at christ Academy that we had to

face on Thursday. Our girls. Shout out to our girls. You know, they ran into a bus on Friday night. What happened? Explain? Uh, they ran into a bus. They ran into something that was a little bit better than them, and they got ugly. They got running clock ugly. Like yeah, but no, let's our girls. Our boys, you know, they are they are, they're they're doing their Caroline the Lake here, Like, no, it's not that level. So when's the game? Thursday? Thy

finals is Thursday. We got the early game to ten am. Yeah yeah, I know. So if you win them, then we play Friday and back to back. They get us in and get us out, so you'll know, wake up, so then you'll know Monday, Monday, Oh Monday we'll be champions. Okay, Monday here first, come back here with the trophy on Monday, bring it in. I don't come in with a Last year and COVID Covid hit us. We went to the Semis two years ago and we lost in the semifinals. We were gonna win it. Last year we were in

the finals. Covid hit us. We had to forfeit. So this year our motto was we're back. We're back for the finished business. All right, well, good, bring the trophy in on Monday. The world. All right, Nate, how was your weekend? It was great? Man, it was great. And let me say this right quick. Let me see he signed out the things. Yeah, we're not getting into that yet. How was your weekend? Ask me about my weekend? He didn't send that out till today. So how was your weekend?

I spent it with you, Shannon, starting on Friday and spent the whole weekend women. How was the resting weekend? Anyway? I love y'all. Okay, good, my weekend was good. Thanks for asking. I Binge watched two shows this weekend. Oh tell me tell me the book Bubba fet okay, really good, really good? And the New Vikings is out. It's a sequel to the original Vikings that was on the History Channel. What about like he's Valhalla really good? Remember the old

show we used to watch to make sure? Calling you about the guy? Which one Game of Thrones? Yeah, I told my wife, I said, big Game of Thrones on this deal once you just I don't want to watch that because the ended can the end and be so devastating to an old year year year year yeo that you can't never watch. No, it wasn't that bad. It was James Bond. It wasn't that for me. Was the last James Bond. It ruined them all for you, man, it's hard for me to watch. Come on, man, I

watched Sean Connery and all of them. Now I can't watch Daniel Craig. He who was the best James Bond? Daniel Craig really by far? Then then uh then, my man, I just called his name, Seann Sean Connry. Yeah, what was the first Roger Moore? No, No, it was a guy named Letsbie Let'sbie or something. It's way back. Yeah, I didn't realize. Yeah before Sean, Yeah it was. And then you know, eighteen eighty three wrapped up, so now you can go, Okay, thank you. I get on that. Man.

I'm gonna do that tonight, I think because I do them like once I start shout out to Abbott Elementary. I like that show. That's a great show, Habit Elementary. Yeah, sitcom's called Abbot Elementary. Really never I like that. I like that show. What you what you like? Bro? I've been earning this new Reacher. I finished that a couple week. Reacher High. He's a big dude. He's a big Yeah. He ain't like an original Reacher. No, original Jack Reacher

was cold bloody. Yeah, but he was five foot four. Yeah, but ridginard Jack Reach just tell him, dudes four or five dude, y'all don't want to do this. I'm telling you don't want to do even beat him down. Those dudes like that too. Yeah, So it'll be worth watching. It gets good if you get if you get through the first episode, because you're like, this guy can't act for anything, and then you realize, like that's really that's his character. Okay, it's it's pretty good. I thought it

was pretty solid. Go watch Race. That's another one I watched this weekend. That's the Bubba Wallace thing right, all right, let's talk football now, go ahead. What are you gonna say? Earlier Kurt sent out what he's signed out a great ideals thing. Today, I mean, we could talk about this film. Which one you want to talk about first, Kurt? Since you did all the work. I liked the one with the Parsons, and then I like it one where y'all was And I don't know if that was part of

who's the better athlete? That the guys we played against? I think that was just something you thought. I just did that right there should have been on the list, you know, because I went a little deeper. I say, it ain't who was the best athlete? Who was the best quarterback? And nine time out of team, we're going down the list. Next year we're gonna pick not who we think the better team is, but who we think

the better quarterback. But I think we do that every year, yeah, right, like saying every every matchup that we watched, we all the first thing you always look at is, all right, who's the quarterback? Yeah? And that kind of that kind of then determines how you're gonna look at this game and where you're gonna go at this game because most teams, if you know, you look at the Giants, you go booty juice, you know, because because of that quarterback, you go, oh,

booted juice. Giants were good, you know, or you look at the football team you're saying, heinekeep he could get hot, but that quarterbacks terrible. Oh you're playing. We got to do with that joke. But you know, so actually really boils down to, yeah, how we got here, Shannon was we were talking about Dak hasn't been running as much. There's a question I saw on Twitter, is like how

many quarterbacks this year did the Cowboys face? Where Dak was the better athlete and not the better quarterbacks, just simply the better athlete. And I guess that was kind of boiled down to maybe more like a running quarterback than you know, and that you had. I mean, you look at it. You know, you talk about the Giants being so bad, but Daniel Jones is probably a better athlete than Dak, you know, and that sort of thing. Heinik is probably a better athlete than Dak. But you

had other guy obviously Brady, maybe Carr. We said, there's some other guys. It's like, also probably depends on how you define athlete, Well, that's what they're saying, the better quarterback, he's better than most of us, right, But how do you define athlete? Just why do you say Daniel Jones is a better athlete? He one, he's faster than Dak's more than Dak. He he's a better runner than Dak.

He has you're saying, you're saying, who has better football skills? Well, I think the outside of throwing the football better question was raised about. I think was geared towards who's running the ball? Bet right, thing right, But when you say athlete, you could be saying like our bowlers athletes or cornhole players athletes. No, I'm being serious like athletes, like like you, is Tony Romo a better athlete than anybody else in

the league at the time he played? And it depends on what you're defining, like basketball, probably yes, No, better than all those things you're doing a Scott and combine. Besides throwing, we know athletes they go football football related stuff outside of throwing. Yes, that catching a nine years old next season Elusiveness, mobility, mobility, Yeah, that's what I'm trying to say. And then you said I'm stupid, And then I kissing. I just said exactly, that's not stupid.

All right. We look, we look at dac as this that's quarterback, right and somebody who's gonna had all these different variables to the game and all that, and but is that true? I guess not this year. Not this year. He will hurt your heart? Will it be going forward that hurts your heart? Yeah? I did? In future? That's the question. Dak is twenty nine years old. Next season will be his seventh season. This season, let's get their history shows qbs are what they are by now? Can

he still improve and carry this team? You sin? Yes? Yeah? I mean if you look into history by by age twenty nine, by seventh season, you kind of know are what you are, you know, the elite from the Nazo elite. And he's I mean, he's the top ten quarterback I guess, But can he Is he take that next step? Well? I don't know, can you? Yeah? That's what I'm dropping trying to get for the last three minutes. I was two and ten pounds at one point in time. Do

you think now do you think? I guess? The million dollar question is is it was it the injury? Was it his headspace? Was it the play calling, was it the offensive line? Like what? I think all of it's yes, It's all part of the equation. I think all of it is yes. I really do. I think the injury when you when you have an injury as catastrophic as that, it changes you. I just it just it changes you.

It changes everything about you. And I do think that is one of the most mentally tough dudes in this league. But that changes you. Then on top of that, there's this I think there's this battle that you have within yourself as as an athlete, and you're you're constantly comparing yourself to what the standard is, and you look around the league and you're saying, you know, am I throwing the ball as well as Aaron Rodgers or Patrick Mahomes

or name a quarterback whoever. Right, So you start looking at that as saying, you know that they don't talk about me in that conversation when they talk about guys who throw the football. I'm not in that conversation. That plays a part into your mind. Then you come and and you're trying to make this thing work with all of these athletes that you have on your football team, and maybe the chemistry isn't there with you an offensive coordinator, and and and that plays a part in your mind.

I want to be perfect. I want to So you have all these factors that are playing into your mind, and you're trying to get this thing going, and sometimes it just doesn't. It doesn't happen for you. So I think, to answer your question, all of those things played a part in what I would say was a people gonna I know, I know it's coming. Well, he passed for this many touchdowns and he passed for this many yards. I am not smart enough to do the analytic thing.

I'm not smart enough to do the QBR thing. I'm not smart enough to do any of that other number why stuff. All I use is these two crusty your eyes. And I watched the game, and I put it to a point of what does it look like when I see it? It looked like a regression from a player's perspective, and Dak Prescott as a quarterback, M yeah, I think. So that's all I got. You know, I'm trying to formulate what I'm gonna say here. You know, I got

to think about a little bit. But yeah, to me, I wondered, like he came on with such gangbusters and we saw and we kind of thought, man, he's young and he's tearing it up like this. Once he reached you know, as he two interceptions his first year. Yeah, I mean it's gonna be top five. You know, it's gonna be an elite. And I'm now maybe it's I'm falling more into that category. Is it's the team. He

needs help around him. You know, he had Zeke that is offensive line, and that has always been his deal. When he was at Mississippi, he was just at his best when he had weapons. GiB Dak the weapons, but also give him the coach that expands on what he does well. Uh and and and until I know for sure that it's Dak that don't want to run to get first downs, ain't talking about run to for glory. I'm gonna get first downs if I can ever figure out if it's a combination of both, so I know

who to attack in the right way. Because for you not to go back and look at his work, his whole body of work, and to see where he was at its best when back when Dakshusans were doing everything running, you know, getting the first downs, throwing the short passage, getting the ball out quick, a complimentary run game, which I blame on both offensive offensive line and the offensive coordinator. You gotta do all of these things. Now we can

see the best Dak. Yeah. I just you get to a pointant level in your career and there's certain things that you can't tell me not to do anymore. Yeah, but see, you know what that's that's all well and good, you know, but all you know, you got another question here? Should you should that be involved in the decision making? No? No, I disagree? What fuck I mean? Okay, you had Amari Cooper, you you've had Ceedee Lamb, you got the kid that

got hurt. Uh, Michael Gallup, you you had these three stars, you've had Zeke and ending this kid Pilot last year. I'm talking about last year before you, before you got hurt. You you've had all these weapons and Tony came last year. But you've had all these weapons and you and you still don't know how to get them the ball. See, I've asked you several times, said when is that gonna take over? When is that gonna say? This is how we're gonna do it. This is who I'm throwing too.

This is this is who I'm a feature. If you're a top ten elite quarterback, you're gonna walk into the game and you and I hear basketball players said, I hear some quarterbacks said, elite quarterbacks elite say, you know what, I know what the coach called, but look at here, dude, this is what we gonna do. I know what the coach called, but this is what we're gonna do. Yeah. That goes back to my other point about the whole running situation. It's a coach can't Now I'm not saying

design runs and RPOs and all that. I'm sprinkling him. Yes, but as a quarterback, you have to know when is it time, when it's time to go, Like when it's time to you know, hey, the clock's going off in my head, No one's open, it's thirtain two. I'm gonna go get me one. You know what I'm saying, and just and just go from there. But that part you and I we agree. What we disagree is I think as a for a quarterback, this is your If there's an extension of your CEO, this is your extension of

your CEO in the locker room. I'm not saying that he has to make final decision, or he should be in every decision. But there are certain things, especially when it comes to a point of having major impact on him. I E. Hey, we're gonna release a Mark Cooper. I E. We're gonna you know, do you know whatever it is, bring guys in, not bring guys in. I think at the at year seven that that conversation, at some point in time should involve on Dak Prescott. I do. I think,

especially if the mount they have invested in him. Now. I don't think he's making the decision, but I think you're asking his opinion. Yeah, can we do this without Amari? Can we do this? I'm gonna tell you something. You you you you asking the guy, like you said, had a major injury, who's dealing with his thing, as Channa called it, a space in your head, and you're dealing with you find to lose Amaria. I mean we did one way another We're gonna lose amar You know now

you gotta read the redo. How you move guys in your packing order? Are you ever gonna have to let me say this right here, let me just stop see this. We had the original, the number eighty eight. We had dads and all we want. I want about he raised and saying he disrupted the team. Okay, we got tomorrow, Oh namorrow, don't do that. Da da da da. But you know what, fellas we need if CD Lamb is gonna raise the hell come on CD, because we got

to have featured guys that our quarterback. No, that's not gonna sit over there say oh well, he ain't gonna throw me the ball. Okay, it's good the first guy open sel almost because that's my issue, is our quarterback nor ever realize that everybody's not built the same, everybody's not equal, and I have the ability to show everybody that this guy is elde. So you're saying he should Dak should be the guy that shows us that the

you know, don't if I'm not. If you're gonna let him pick the players, let him pick who here gonna throw to them. You know what if even though Mamar is our best receiver, what if Dad just doesn't have that chemistry with him or whatever. But he should have never been signed, that's the goal. Better with Jense he should have never been signed a long term money and that type of money, he should have never been signed. Yeah, No,

it's too late for that. Well, I mean that that takes me back to a situation with and I played with guys who didn't have chemistry, who were on the books for a lot of money, Tony Romo and Roy Williams. When when Roy Williams came here and and a lot of it was this offense. And I'm not saying this

offense doesn't suit Amari. The offense that Roy came from, which was a Mike Mark's offense in Detroit, which again you had a lot of a lot of his skills, bigger receiver, kept a lot of his routes on the run, meaning slants, speed in's post goals, things like that. Were a bigger receiver. Once we get going, it's like keep us that momentum going. The offense that he came to here with Jason Garrett was more of a timing stopping then were starting again that type of stuff, and he

and Tony, when I tell you it was ugly. I used to sit and were just sitting some of them meetings and the arguments that would go back and forth between Roy between Tony Garrett, because you know, Roy felt like that Garrett. I shouldn't be saying this probably, but he's going on. Yeah, Roy felt like Garrett did the first time he said he wasn't hold Tony accountable for

certain things. I mean they would have I mean there would be stuff where the ball was sailing over two three feet over Roy's head or at his feet or the I mean windows were missed and you know Roy not running a route full speed or what I mean the chemistry was so off is that you came to a poem and you said, you know what, we gotta move on. We have no choice. We already gave this guy one hundred million dollars, and Tony, even though we signed Roy for forty nine million dollars, we're keeping him

long term. And if this relationship isn't going to work, then I gotta find a way to either move on and then you know, you got Daz and then you ended up moving on and that relationship worked better and they did a lot of great things. But I just I we've seen these two guys work, though we've seen a Maori in Dak work. The book is out. This is what it happens when you get to year seven. The book is out, and we've heard it time and time again before we heard it again in the playoffs.

When defensive backs starts saying we're gonna play a certain way and we want your quarterback to beat us. That's an indictment on QB one. You don't you don't hear. You don't hear qbs and they say, listen, we're gonna, we're gonna load the box up, and we're gon, we're gonna, we're gonna, we're gonna let your quarterback have to beat us. What they wouldn't dare say that about Patrick Mahomes or

Aaron Rodgers or quote unquote the elites. So when you hear that from other professionals that we want, we said that about Daniel Jones, load the box up. We want Daniel Jones and throw the ball height. When you get in that category, well, guy start saying we want to see if he could beat us. It's a bad place to be. All right, let's take our first break when we come back. Michael Parsons had something to say about

the head coach talk about that. I didn't say, Lord the heckos doesn't say right, he didn't say that, And man, it feels so good to be in here without the hockey glass in here us feels good. So, Kurt, Yeah, what did uh Michael Parsons have to say about Mike. I think he was on the Rich Eyes and Show and they talked about a lot of different He's been talking a lot this offseason, popular guy. I think he's on a Pizza Hut tour or two or yes, can't say that on the show. But thank you for playing. But oh that's right,

Sorry about that? All right? You pulled a Nate Papa Johns I think, sorry, a competitor. Yeah, we love Papa Jones anyway. Sorry, um, he was asked about we love the new Papa the old Papa Johns. Yeah, I had that this weekend too, Papa john Saturday Night sponsors. Don't say it like that. Yeah, he had a sponsor on Friday Night. I had him. All all the sponsors up usual had paid for it too. You got that trash, You got that trash? Where were you Friday night basketball? Ida?

You missed out man on the on the So we'll talk about it, man, Okay, let's say it. For the last secade ago I heard about him, I'm like, out of my name, gonna list. I don't even know about it. But anyway, we'll talk about it. We'll talking about little segment ahead. What Mike he said? Me and Mike talking about Mike McCarthy. We really don't talk much. He's more of an offensive coach. And um, given that McCarthy supposed to be kind of umbrella the head coach, head coach,

is that heart strange? Nope, commonplace really so coming. So I never saw whatever saw Wait what if he was Dan Quinn, he wouldn't talk much to the offensive gain What are you gonna say? I don't know how what's up? How you doing? That's how you're gonna get good? All right? But it isn't that if you're managing a game. Shouldn't you know? He knows, you know, So he's he's no, he knows, he knows I being nosy. You know. He knows that Dan's gonna handle it. Yeah, so I hired

you for it. I hired you to handle it. And then he gonna handle it. If he needed to say something to a player, he gonna he's gonna be like they talked yesterday. Oh if we tell you, you know, if you need to be handled, well, I'll put with Jimmy, you know, Jimmy didn't talk to a lot of offensive guys, you know, but something needed to be hand him on the field. It's like manh yeah, like he just went to bed with me. Lad that way. He just talked

about to meet you know what I'm saying. So where you were ever around coaches at a little bit of both? I was around Bill, So Bill had his head and everything. Yeah, he has headed everything, but for the most part he was a defensive guy. So you know, we didn't see him. He always knew, but you didn't see him much. You know, when I played in Cincinnati, Marv, we didn't see Marv, marvat Lewis much in the offensive you know, meeting room.

All those guys, they stick to what they know. They go down there there, Like I said, they may pop their head in. I played with Wade. I played four Wade here early on and then Jason afterwards. Wade was always with the defensive group. He'll come down every now and again, pop his head in and say something and

he'll wobble on out, go back down the hall. Kind of a criticism to his I mean, wasn't the criticism hands or you know you heard Garrett kind of backdoored his way into the head coaching job that I don't talk about my boy red swindle your boy swindle them. But it's it's commonplace again. We like football wise, what does Mike McCarthy and Mica have to talk about? Yeah? What did you see in that an B gap that made you beat that right guard the way you did it? Yeah?

Not much? How much? Then does a guy like Mica is sitting in the meetings listening to McCarthy talk, I mean easycounting, Yeah whatever, I'm listening to the Quinn or No. When you're sitting in that team meeting, you know this is the head coach, Yes, this is this is the head coach. He's gonna call you know, if it's something far as logistics, where we gotta be, what time we gotta be there, what's supposed to be warn it's not supposed to be warning, all that kind of stuff. You

know who it is. But once we go once, once he goes all right, offense here, defense there, then I lock in and say, okay, what what is what is DQ talking about? Because now this is this is the game. So like the overall logistics of football, you you you want to hear what your head coach has to say. But when it comes down to it again, because once you get into the heart of a game, Mike is not a Mike is historically an offensive guy. That's where

you we ain't. We're not coming to you and say now, Mike might yell at him and say, come on, son, you can't hold, or you can't off side, or you can't do that negatively, or you might say way to gold. But other than that, Dan, you got this. This this is your guy. Go get them right. So that's it's it's not people will make it out to be what

it is. It's not. It's coming. You have to have you know, a lot of times when your offensive minded coach, you know, you think that you know because you're in the offensive meetings a lot, But you got that's why you really got to trust that got on or the other side. You your your coordinator. You know. That's why coaches that are being hired before the head coach or coaches that are being put in forced on you, that's a hell of a thing because this is not my guy.

Can I truly trust him not to stab me in the back. And a lot of that goes on in corporate world. And even in the sports world where this is not my guy. But if he's you're a guy, I'm an offensive minded my guy Jesse even but I hired Jesse, so I'm like, hey, hey, what's what's the hot what's the buzz thing today? What are you talking about? Stigma heading down say whatever he just said to me ten minutes ago and going down the hall because I

got to take care of the offense. That was kind of interesting that Quinn, I mean Quinn McCarthy said that ten to twelve years ago, he might have been felt threatened by Quinn, he might not want him around off them after all this head coach talk. But now he's like, yuh, he'll help us win. So I guess that's a good thing. Yeah. When you when you when you got a couple of MS in the bank account, got a championship on your name,

you know you kind of have you. Mike McCarthy knows if he wants a job in the league, he can have a job in the league. May I'd always be head coaching. He knows that. And there's a level of maturity. There's a level of maturity to understand you know what you what you become a head coach and you sit in that seat for a long period of time, you know what to expect. This ain't the first time that coordinators, you know, have have been really good under Mike McCarthy

and going elsewhere. You know, he came from a really good tree. So when you look at when you look at all that, man, this is commonplace and with the maturity comes with time because maturity and you'll be able to handle a situation like that. I still think it sucks for him because he knows at the end of the day that unless this thing goes to what's about next year, Minnesota, somewhere somewhere crazy like that anyway, super Bowl. Yeah, if it doesn't go to there, that he's probably lost

his job. But where's the Super Bowl this year? I think Minnesota, Chris, you know you should know that. Huh to Arizona. Actually Arizona. Arizona's like Minnesota, exactly like Swahili speaking of in the United States, the United States. Speaking of, they announced the UH they announced the home teams for the International Series, and we have a we have three different road opponents on our schedule this year that are playing in other countries. So they announced the Cardinals in Mexico.

They announced helped me out. Chris, Jaguars in Tampa, and I think Green Bay taps Green Bay, Green Bay in Jacksonville, Jacksonville or in the UK. So we we play on the road, Green Bay, Jacksonville and Tampa Bay, so we can Tampa's a home game. Believe Tampa's appreciate. Yeah, but they could take one of our home games, right, No, these are the home teams are giving. So it's England or nowhere, right, yes, London or nowhere for us. Yeah, So it could be the NFL trying to go global.

We're like twenty five years late, but could be Green Bay or Jacksonville. Chris, we talked for the show's Chris pointed down, it's the NFL gonna take mccarthur going back to Green Bay and put it in London. No, there's no way. It's Monday night football and they're doing it right. It's Monday Night Football. It's into like late November December. Aikman's doing the game and Lamball. There will be snow on the ground, like you like. That is the ambiance

that you you need to have. There's no there is no way that game will be anywhere but no American soil comes down to Akeman and Brett Farve doing the game on ESPN's right, any how much money? I don't know. You know, you're the only one who's a free calling right now, and your action abo about day money. But I was tempted. I you know, I saw something about your boy Dion the other day and I think this was an old quote, but it came or old conversation,

but it came back up this weekend. I saw it somewhere where they were asking him about what he ever coach in the NFL, and he said that he couldn't do it because he has a problem with grown men not doing their job and wouldn't be able to tell them. Yeah, So I thought that was so college. He's staying in college. On Nate, he's staying in Jackson. That's what found out. It's a lot of saving. It's a lot different out

of guys. Huh. He's been rumored to be make five years at ninety million, Yeah, which is eighteen a year. It's more, and he made his whole career. When you're coming there, when you're coming to the negotiation table, you're coming in there with the Tony Roman contract and you're saying I've been doing it longer than him. I have more rings than him. I want if it's a dollar more than him. You know, do you think your USF

walk contracts gonna look like that my USFL. Yeah, when you get when you get the broadcast rights on the OHO or wherever they put that. My son was XFL. Which one is the US Which one is you a savant? Yeah? No, probably not. No, it's XFL right, XFL is coming back. But yeah, no, I'm talking about Moose. Jesse's gonna have the national broadcasts. Oh, let's go. No, listen, as long as long as I as long as I can afford to keep feeding women down at the trailer park, That's

all I care about. You gotta keep them fab bro who and the way to flace it got these got these meat prices going up. I am kind of surprised to keep down there holding that trailer park. Man. Why are you surprised? Sick women eat well? I mean, Monday night football have the same luster or whatever it wants. Dude, you know that that checkbook money talks. I can't believe it's gonna be weird without Joe Buck. Who's this broadcast partner supposed Well, they're saying that, well, the Fox is

talking to Peyton. I guess that'd be good Joe. They're saying Joe Bucks on his last track, so they made there's a possibility he might. There's also rumors that Al Michael's maybe going over there too. But I don't know to ESPN. But Joe Buck, he does football and baseball. Fox, they're not Foxing letting him good. Yeah, but ESPN has baseball package too. And then I heard Sean Payton might go to Fox, right, yeah, rum with him. There's so

many rumors out there. Our Michael Parsons segment didn't last as long. We're kind of all over the place right about Michael Parsons. He did he did mention that, like he does talk to him in that interview, he does say they asked him, so you don't talk to him. He's like, no, he tadn't talk to me about football. He talks to me about off the field stuff, about life in general. When I talk to him, he asked me how I'm doing with life and all that kind of stuff. So, oh, okay, So I guess that's more

what a head coach should be. So he's mentoring the young man, trying to I guess good. All right, well, let's take her last break. The combine is about to start the club. This is this mom. No, she lives with him, don't get it twisted. Well now, if you ask him, he says he lives with his mom. Lives with him. All right, we'll be out back. Last segment here with the boys soon. So I figured out plug wingstop again and speaking into existence, maybe we'll get some free food.

I had, uhless original hot. I had to chase a kid around the house to greased up. Oh my god. I had hot and half hot, half lemon pepper. And then the fries, of course, because the fries are delicious and large and sweet tea that's what I had, huh. And then from Papa John's I had. They had some kind of deal five toppings for like thirteen dollars pizza. I got all the meats. That's good. He loved the meat too. Let's just stop it only on pizza on My kid loves pizza too. You can tell he's my

kid loves French fries and pizza. What's up next? Hadn't give any me in the middle of about to say, what's up next? And how did he get into bed? Yeah? My mom my mom saying when I was younger, she will put like a little bit at the bottom of the bottom little beer. Yeah, a little beer, knock you right out, really, like, what a terrible parent you are? Mother. Wow, I have to try that one night. Kid gonna go to sleep. He was sick for the first time this weekend.

Don't do that so I know, first time he's ever been sick. Made it nineteen months. I think he gave me something. Thanks for bringing it. So we took the shield down. They didn't have COVID. I didn't have peak out either. You can tell my eyes good. It's clear that peak guy. You know. I heard somebody ate it like ate a bunch of doughnuts one time and the sugar like gave them pink eye. They can't eat like more than like one glazed donut. They lied to you.

That wouldn't mean they had they had their facing something round the donuts. Oh my god, I'm just saying, Oh my space, I wish you to have I wish you. I wish you to have it. I wish you to have the God there he is there today. It wasn't the donut. How many I mean? I mean donut? You think you could eat one city? Why do you look back? And why you look at the big person first? Because he was over like it ain't me? Because he was talking about he eat a donuts? I used to eat them.

What's the motion? What's the motion? You ever ate one city? Because we know you eat a whole back of fries. Man, I don't want sitting. They used to just eat them. I'm telling you might get a dozen to two and just eat them. They ain't no more I eat bring donuts, no get I don't nobody doing nothing to my doughnuts. You know how crazy that sounds. Two doesn't donuts. I ain't got a dust two. I just eat them. I just him tell you ain't no more than you like?

It's twenty four donuts? Who gets me? One day? Problem about you? Kurt most donuts students Kurt's got donuts pulled up non sponsored donuts. Okay, I better not mentioned them. Huh eat them twists? You know, maybe half doesn't. If I'm in my life I've maybe done that. Yeah, I couldn't do it now be sick. Well I'm gonna do this. Lay Oh man, y'all got donuts? Oh yeah, I mean does could you j? You think one city? We need

to do glaze? Yeah? Regular ten ten? I so I used to do this stupid, stupid when I was young, I did so much dumb stuff on our house. So last week, younger young, last week when I worked in when I worked in merchandise, it started we went, we would go, we'd always go have lunch and there was a diner around the corner and they had all you could eat. They'd have all you could eat something every Friday, and they had catfish one Friday and I ate till I was like sick. And then I still had like

two pieces of catfish left on my plate. And the guys I was with they said, we'll give you ten bucks a piece if you finished the catfish. And I was like, not for twenty dollars no, So I got them up to eighty bucks. But I had to lick the plate. So I licked the plate like had catch up on every day. I licked the plate and they had all the guys in the kitchen laughing, and they were like watching and egging me on. So every Friday we would go somewhere and they would do some kind

of eating challenge. I went to my burger joint and ate a pound burger. I had to eat all the fries and so skinny man. Well, I came back to the office one day and we went to Snuffers and I ate a big burger. There fries, two big old things, and unsweet tea. Get back to the office and somebody had they had twenty two donuts left. It was after I ate lunch, and they went around the office and they had this was back. Well, I didn't make much money.

They got one hundred dollars and say if you eat all twenty two donuts in an hour, right after eight lunch, and I was determined. I screwed up because I ate I should have started with the chocolate cover ones. They had four chocolate ones and the rest of them were glaze. I ate the glaze ones first. And this is the depressing part. I got all the way down. It had two donuts left. So I ate twenty donuts for free, and I got so sick I had to go home and go to sleep, and I slept and it cost

me pete the old time. Oh my god, like I because I guess it was the sugar. I was so like just like gross feeling, and I just yeah, I had to get na yep. I had to leave it like two o'clock and I couldn't even go out that night anything. I was sick. Did you did you ever see I remember when when Larry y Allen did his Hall of Fame speech and he talked about his wife would make two whole chickens and what do you get? Three forty or something like that. Did you ever see

him eat like two whole chickens? Na? Na, Na, na, because I'm wearing my own two whole chickens. Y'all were throwing down a whole chicken farm. Did you eat more than anybody on the team back then? No? We had We had eaters, man, we you know, we we never heard about the next man. We just based y'all place for food. Who can eat? You know? Everybody? Man, Mike Irvin, didn't you say there was a smart you know? I

started to cut you off. Mike. Mike don't even chew his food, Like if you have a watch, Mike eat like Mike can eat a whole play the food in a commercial break. He like a higheno like he literally if you anyone has ever worked with Michael Irvin, this dude, he I don't know how he doesn't choke or how he hadn't died from choking from food. I've watched it. Joke, eat like a whole plane of uh like shrimp and lomaine and beef in a commercial break a radio like

a radio commercy minutes three minutes a whole. I'm telling you, Mike, Mike, I've seen. I've seen, Mike. How big is your family? Like you like brother and sisters. I'm three of us sixteen Yeah, so he had to eat as fast as he could or if you want to get seconds, that's my mom was the same way to eight of them. So shoot at the eat really fastest you want to get seconds. Tell me that thought that I'm telling me. The Hyhena's Hyhena's a good. A lot of animals in Africa.

I like this, you're not animal. But when they go out and Black History people, when do you go out? And when they go out? And how did make a cue? They got babes back in there at the then so they eat the food and gals and swallow it because they have to regurgitate it with them babies when they get back. And you thought you was just getting so I'm just telling you he's looking back that taking it back.

So you see it again, Michael, tell you, I'm not the first time I saw might eat him like he'll eat and you'll see it his mouth swallow and they all a sudden to go down. Now I'm lying. His mom was swallowed to go. This is crazy. It's freaky, like a fat man. Actually recently found a quote from offensive line Tony Wise from back that day he said, uh,

talked about asked him. He was asking about Nate Newton, who reported the training camp weighing more than three hundred forty pounds rather than the three fifteen, and they wanted him. They asked him what Tony thought. He said, well, we're not running a weight clinic here for him, but he's gonna keep paying them. Fine. Yeah, yeah, it didn't matter to me. Yeah, I felt good. It's all right. No, I seen who was that flows out atams? I see

flows out right a check. At the beginning of the year, it was like, listen here, I'm not gonna I'm not done with this every week and just wrote a check. It's paid it up front front, Like I'm not doing that. Everything'll be over overweight every week? Is here? This is what's a fine for that? Like what's sometimes fifty dollars a pound? Twenty five dollars? Yeah? Yeah when you played, when I played, it was like three four d per pound. The money got better. Yeah, Wow, where does that money go?

It's the same thing like as a fine donated back to the team charity. Yeah, you write it off, Wow, money not received? Write that thing off. Wow. My biggest thing was the beers and the French fries. Oh my god, kept the weight on you, but they were light beers. Lord, that was good. Guys still have that problem today? Or is it the nutrition such a bigger thing now some guys do it, but it's round you know, it's still one or two guys on the team maybe, but now

guys are so just health conscious. Yeah, man, just I didn't care. Man, all Ida was all Ida was all idam? Do you think now because you were so conscious about every advantage you had to have to make the team, Because you talk about on the show all the time that like you you know, you were fighting every year to keep your job, right, Yeah, but when it came to obviously I didn't care. I ate, so you'd have done that. If you're playing today, I'm gonna tell you something, man,

today is a whole different deal. I'm telling you it's one person I hate to look at, and that is every time I see I'm like, what did God do to you? Man? Without a shirt? Ah? God? Yeah, I'm like till you just start laughing. I'm like, yeah, he got to hear my fat story all over again. You know. But but did you like talking about whatever advantage you could? Did you think your weight was an advantage? Or didn't

bother you? It didn't. It didn't bother me. Now when I got into my later years and nine tenth old, now I had to be real cathful because it wasn't no coming back again, you know. But my first year, man, I just stop eating. People like, how do you do that? The same way I started eating. I just in my mind. I just like, I'm like, hey man, I'm gonna stop eating. And everybody like, yo, man, E've gonna stop eating. I'm like, yeah, I'm gonna stop eating, like a month. But you had

so much storing up name Mike Spots in Florida. I go back to the Orlando A them and uh, you know he put me on all these vegetables and you know, very little meat. That was your guru, you're you're yeah, my big man camp, wasn't it? Yeah? You know they they're going to the fat farm. No, I have a nutrition it's got Is that ever an issue for you

guys who keeping the weight and all that? Receivers? Some receivers had to work to keep weight on right during the season, Like you have to eat more carbs and more fatty stuff. Yeah, keep because y'all burn so much during so much can be fine for being under No. No, I'm gonna tell you something, man. We were physically tough. I don't want to say we were more mentally tough, because you deal with whatever or whatever, whatever climbing you're dealing with. But we we were being diplomatic and yeah

we were tough. Se No, No, he had time to think about it. When you catch it, when you catch him on a quick one, that's when he messes out. Yeah. No, No, we were. We were tougher because the training camp. I knew I was gonna lose the weight because I training camps. I mean two a day, sometime two and a half a day, depending on the walk through an afternoon or not. I mean you you gonna work full pads, full pads. Yeah you you was gonna work five or ten pounds

a day. Easy, man. You can drank all the water you want. It was coming off all the gatorade you want. It was coming off cause Leon un Let, Charles Haley, Russell Maryland, Tony Colsie Is Henning, Damn man, that's coach Chad Henning. I mean, it would be just good. I don't think we had a sorry defensive linement. That's crazy. I think about that like a start for these guys, like practice had to be so like in that heat. A lot of guys didn't. A lot of guys say

they like competition. A lot of them don't like competition. But when you when you look at the name that he just lifted off, that's every day at practice. There is no there is no no plays off. You deal with Charles Hilly one time, time left the next time, you know, and everything. Everybody brought something different. My inside guys was Leon that Russell, Maryland, Chad Hennings, Tonicus sees Jimmy Jones and I don't get thinking and Tobol's outside.

You know, I had to deal with these guys every day, and these guys were literally fighting to be seeing who started. Everybody was gonna play. That was already understood. Jimmy ran a rotation, but everybody it was such a big thing to start. I mean, you may start two plays because down and distance gonna dictate whether you stay in now. Leon Lett was the only one on the inside that you knew that was gonna be starting, whether it was

a rundown or past now. But the rest of the guys a lot of times were subject to the down and distance. Kurt, we got about three minutes. You got anything you wanna talk about? I know, really, Jesse Anna talk about you? Where we got what's the best way to cook French friesep bake them and healthiest, your best tasting either way, it was all of it healthy, all of it gonna kill you. And eventually, yeah, if you bake them, they're gonna kill you. It's still the same.

You beat them the grease. I'm like, you let the grease drain off. But the best ways get that fire. About four hundred degrees and just put it a big old pan and get your little bake them on from brom and out hot grease, and that it just stayed up. Man about tennttle fried little fried Daddy. Actually, man, you take them things about it a man, don't even wait to hit them with some salt, man and throw them hangs in a big old I had a platus. I ain't handle play out of platucause I used to deal

with a big arch. No. I started to stay away from my wife. My wife didn't think I know how to cook french from baby, that's a simple thing in the world, cook of French fries. She was like, let me show you. Well, we're gonna let you cook them from now own. What was your favorite kind of steak? Steak cut, crinkle fries, cajun fries, the head or out of I could make it work. Had a ardle everything.

I have McDonald French fries. I will go to another sat back in the day, and back in the day, I will go to Burger King and get them a double meat waffer and I shoot over the McDonald's and get me two orders of super large fries, and you know, spide and then I'll get I will get a milkshake from McDonald's too, vanilla milk. Then if I went to Windy, which is much my overall place to go was Winds. I was a triple single double. What you call it

a home run? You did get all three three? Yeah, and then a super large or of French fries geese, and then I have already I call the home run and a single I hit for the cycle, baby, and then a super and then a super large order large fries, and I already have my beer. Come back, and then you can drive and drink. I would have my course. Like the abusing bathrooms man at me, N, I ain't used the bad rooms, bro, that's how you think I had all that weight rouble at a single. I think

I want to just I want to try that. You could be sick, like we can bring it in here. No, I wouldn't do that on camera. I won't embarrass me on camera. Like even I don't eat. I don't eat. I don't eat like that. Like I eat a lot, like like a double single on a triple a double all the way with cheese. Yeah, I eat a lot, and I eat a double and I'm full. I imagine that triple and single, you know, like I'll pull up and get it a double cheese burger, but then I

won't eat the rest of the day. Can you Can you imagine if they had favor back then, Oh my god, you wouldn't even have to get off the couch. You just ordered on your phone and they bring it. Now. I had my wife, so I back, baby, get this. The White House would have been lit. The White House. We didn't eat that bro y'all ate that we drunk.

We did other things that I was eating. Man. Might be it might be windows come name, might have been windy day at all type Lexus, Alex Curt and they all playing music Christ keeping us at the best of the live streams, keeping up. This has been the last production, the last episode, last episode ever of Hanging with the Boys. Thanks for hanging out. Whether it's nice knowing y'all, the
